It was just bad. Our balcony door wouldn’t open. We only realized this after we had settled in. We were only at the hotel for one evening and it was disappointing. Breakfast yesterday was also a no-go. We waited for 20 mins to be seated before we decided to leave. There were only 2 tables of people eating and the staff didn’t even acknowledge that there were people awaiting seating. It was weird.

On a positive note, the air conditioning was more than adequate.

The good: Love the ocean front room. The view is beautiful. The restaurant downstairs is convenient and decent. The not so good: The beach chairs and umbrellas are in a sad state, falling apart. They used to charge for them. They can't anymore, so they now charge $20 plus tax per day to park in their parking lot at the hotel. The design of the double room has the air conditioner blowing on the face of the person in the bed closest to the sliding glass door. The ice machine was down on our floor for the entire trip. The offered beach towels are small mismatched bath towels. We have stayed here for the past 6 years and are disappointed with the recent changes

This stay was ok for the price, staff was nice and understanding about the situations we encountered. However i have a few complaints. The design of the shower is open letting water get all over the floor, sand everywhere on the floor as there are no places to put your shoes inside, not enough towels for me and my significant others two night stay, toilet clogged two separate occasions and finally had to get someone to come and fix it. The ocean front location makes this ok as it provided convenient travel to the beach.

We were told our room wasn't ready might be minutes to an hour.. after an hour I went back to the desk and she said \" Oh your room is ready!\" THE FIRST NIGHT THE TOILET KEPT REFILLING ITSELF ALL NIGHT! I mentioned it to the desk twice. Maintenance twice ,and 2 maids, we finally had to shut the water supply off to sleep. The hot tub had no jets,the \"complimentary \" beach chairs were half broken and a liability.! And there were dogs everywhere ! You have to ask for housekeeping, we were down to one towel the last morning to share! Our balcony was full of sand and it dragged in on our feet!! It's a shame alot of money was put into updating the hotel and Management and Maintenance are horrible !

This hotel is ocean front. Great views and as close to the beach you can get. Front desk staff was very helpful. The bartender at the tiki bar was very good and pleasant. The hotel its self is a little dated but not bad. The only downside for us was the mattress was soft and the restaurant hours were not
Posted correctly. Don’t call the hotel expecting answers they don’t answer several calls or return our calls.

We booked a weekend stay at Crystal Coast Oceanfront Hotel and wanted to leave a fair, positive review. The property was clean, the staff was fantastic, and our room was absolutely spotless. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, helpful, and professional, and the oceanfront location is beautiful.

We did realize pretty quickly that the overall atmosphere was not the right fit for what we were personally looking for. This is more of a lively, family-friendly beach hotel, with a tiki bar, pool activity, music, and entertainment. For many guests, that may be exactly what makes it a great beach weekend.

For us, we were looking for a quieter, more relaxed coastal getaway, so after about four hours we decided to head home rather than stay the weekend. That was simply a matter of personal preference, not a reflection of the cleanliness, service, or quality of the property.

I would absolutely recommend it for guests looking for an active, family-friendly oceanfront hotel with onsite energy and entertainment. It just wasn’t the right match for the quiet weekend we had in mind.

The hotel had great staff, very friendly. And the cleanliness of the place was top notch. Only complaint I had was the bathroom in my room, very tiny and narrow for me and my family. Im sure all rooms aren't like that. Very quiet and not too crowed for the month of May, just how I like it. I would stay here again but choose a different room selection.

Sand and grit in floor upon arrival. Shower floor so slick you almost fell every time you moved taking a shower. Water would not stay in shower. Also the $ 20 /day fee charged to park that they add when you arrive and have already paid for your stay when making the reservation. We LOVE staying at this property, but honestly until the double guest room showers are updated we may not return. I am aware there is a queen ADA room, but we cannot stay together in that room as there is only one bed.
My mother fell in the shower as there was no non-skid mat in the room. The showers in the double rooms are WAY TOO SMALL and unsafe. It is a miracle that she was not more seriously injured. We did complete an incident report immediately after it happened Saturday afternoon 5/9/2026.
It was Mother's Day Weekend, the last thing we needed was for my poor mother to fall in a shower that housekeeping had not equipped properly with what we learned should have had a non-slip shower mat. We also learned only upon completing the incident report that they have shower chairs available to guests. This is sad to learn only after her injury.

The water took several minutes to get hot. The food in the restaurant was pricey. Should get a discount for food if staying there. No security card entrances for the outside doors. I think this place is going through some management changes. It looks really impressive when you walk in, but the room keys go inactive quite frequently. During our two night stay, we lost count of how many times we had to reactivate them (8+ times). Housekeeping knocked on our door before we checked out. The radio was played all day and night- I couldn’t sleep because of the noise, and no one was outside because the restaurant and pool were closed. I could tell the staff wanted it off and could only turn it down. Who wants to listen to the radio when you can listen to the waves and see dolphins from your balcony? Then we had a fire alarm go off at 6 am. None of the staff came out to help or explain what was going on. It’s a beautiful place, but it’s too chaotic for me to go back.

They talked and laughed very loud all evening long. I don't mind people having fun but these guests did not respect other neighbors. I had to call front desk twice. Not sure that helped for it went on well after 11 pm. I had to turn up TV just to drown out the noise. Besides that, a good stay. Restaurants and bars were not open in the hotel so don't count on that. Maybe to early in season. Overall, a 4 star rating.

Only stayed one night and it was too windy to enjoy being outside. Overall good, clean space, the restaurants food was good. They have a park area for kids which was nice. Maybe I haven’t stayed on a beach enough but the floor and even the sheets felt like they had sand/salt on them which I wasn’t expecting. I also paid $21 for parking there I didn’t know about prior either. I would stay again to enjoy the beach and hot tub more.

The only issue I had the whole time was on day of checkout at 1004am housekeeper tried to walk into our room and we were in the shower. It was not checkout out until 11am. If I have not checked out yet then no housekeeper should be at my door before 11am.

Check-in was a nightmare. One staff member and 8 people waiting. The keys would not open the door. The doors had been recently painted and seriously stick. No toilet paper. Only three marginal pillows on a king bed for two people. Only two towels. Staff was helpful when they could be. Otherwise, a nice hotel with great pools, etc. Biggest irritant was a $35 charge for parking!

The parking fee was more than I expected and is a complete turn-off. The entry doors were broken and in need of repair. I'm not a dog fan, and they were everywhere. The room was clean. The view was great. The bathroom was like being a cat in a litter box. The toilet was in the same room as the shower, and the door barely cleared the toilet. Very tiny. The beds were not queen-size, and the sheets weren't crisp and clean-smelling. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Pros: Loved the location, secluded and quiet. Overall property and room was nice. A young man who was a part of the staff was always very friendly, when walked by. Beach chairs were awesome (first come first serve). Outside area by beach was very nice.
Cons: Daily parking fee (I would change this to a resort fee instead). Wi-fi was challenging...we had to use our data..staff said they were working to improve. A staff member of hotel restaurant was very rude when we asked to see a menu. You have to ask for housekeeping, so we did. They didnt sweep or give extra tp (we ran out and had to use our own).
Overall a nice place and would possibly stay at again if in the area.

The only complaint my wife and I have is, and this is minor but it affected us, the shower curtain. With the fan above the shower, and it comes on with the light, it pulls the shower curtain into the shower and against the person in there. Some sort of weighted curtain would improve showers greatly. That is the only complaint we had. We loved everything else, allowing pets, the views, all else was very nice.

This is an older property that has been pretty well maintained although there were a couple of minor issues.
The main things have to do with housekeeping. We stayed 2 nights and did not get maid service at all. We saw the maid in the hallway after a long day of activities and asked about some fresh towels for the room. We were told that we needed to get them from the front desk. Very strange and annoying.

Went on a quick beach trip with my 10 yo son and we had absolutely the best time!
The room was clean and I love that the floor is not carpet! The balcony was great for our quick breakfast and coffee in front of the ocean, The staff were very kind and smiley.
We have not used the pool but the hot tub was a huge hit! It was great hot temperature, not lukewarm or warm - it was hot! It was the best feature we could have after playing in the sand all day. Towels were always stocked Even though hardly anyone went to the pool area.
The only thing that was a bit awkward was the tiny shared bath and toilet room, it is tiny. Very tiny. I was only with my son so we made jokes about that and laughed it out.

Overall It is such a cute gem right in front of the ocean , we drove about 8 minutes to get some food from restaurants and ice cream etc and went back to the beach. They do have a great restaurant on site but my picky son had opinions.
Perfect quick vacation! My son voted 10/10 and so did I. Will visit again for sure!
