This was our first stay here. We were impressed with the lobby and the help fullness of the staff. We were disappointed that there was no food service - apparently the kitchen was closed due to sewer issues.

As we find in all hotels, the lighting in parts of the room was abysmal.

There was a large couch for sitting, but no reading chair. We are very tall and in our 70's, and found the couch to be very low and difficult to rise from. The room itself was comfortably spacious for the two of us.

The complimentary coffee in the morning was good. The room had a refrigerator and microwave which are always welcome.

We are not a fan of nuisance fees. $25 to check in early and/or check out late, and a $15/day 'resort fee', and a $100 Refundable 'security deposit'. As we paid with a debit card, the $100 was immediately taken from our account. I wii be interested in how long it takes to be returned. Nonetheless we got a very good rate, and we will certainly consider the property for future stays.

They did not serve breakfast- the staff told me they are waiting on permits. The refrigerator was broken. The sink clogs and the shower was cold. The only perk of this place is that they welcome animals. And the close proximity to the beach. The atmosphere wasn’t very welcoming and gave the uncomfortable feel.

The staff was amazing! From Julz, the bartender who was just very friendly, and also serves in the Marine Corps, to Anel, the front desk clerk. The decor downstairs was nice, but the rooms could use a little love. Maybe new shower fixtures? My family had an amazing time, and I would definitely recommend this spot.

This was our first time at Hotel Alice (but not our first in Atlantic City) and we loved it! I’m giving it 5 stars because of the location (across the street from beach access and just 2 miles away from shops), amenities and incredibly helpful and friendly staff; however our room wasn’t spotless clean. The toilet wasn’t clean, and there were some weird stains under the bed as well as the tub drainage seemed to be somewhat clogged because the water wasn’t draining very good.

The hotel needs an update. It’s in great proximity to charge top dollar but the inside and rooms are old! They need refurbishing. The shower was an 80s plastic shower head. The windows and curtains were filthy! Wouldn’t stay again. But the staff was kind!

I walked into the room and was blown away by the smell of cleaning products. I tried to open the window for some fresh air, but they are sealed shut. I just thought, \"At least it's clean,\" and tried to make the best of it.
I went in to use the bathroom, and there was something on the floor that was slimy & sticky all at the same time. I wiped the floor up with a hand towel, and it was gray & so gross. I wanted to take a bath, but the bathtub had a bunch of yellow slime in it. Tried to wipe it out, and some of it came off. In short, the bathroom was filthy!
I was sick to my stomach, and I had a headache from the fumes. I didn't even stay. I checked about an hour and a half after I checked in. They offered me another room, but I cannot imagine it would be any cleaner or less pungent. I was too disgusted to stay. A waste of money, but I just couldn't stay.

I always stay here when I visit Atlantic Beach. Being pet friendly is a huge plus the dogs love the place too. The proximity to the beach is phenomenal. The quiet at night is also very relaxing and it is only minutes to various restaurants. Will plan many more visits in the future.

My suite was clean, spacious and recently renovated. Beds were comfortable and almost silent even with body movement. I enjoyed the complimentary bike rentals. The beach access was a short walk away. There was plenty of parking even on the weekend. The hotel would be even better if they served breakfast, lunch and dinner. I didn't visit the bar, which got a bit noisy well into midnight and I could hear all the noise in my room down the hall on the first floor.

Beach view was obstructed by the front door awning. This was the room we were moved to after finding our assigned room completely unready with ceiling popcorn falling to the floor and unmade beds. Daughter's friend was with us and she walked barefoot through the room and wound up with filthy black feet.

Room was very clean. The only reason I’m not giving it a 5 star is because the beds were so uncomfortable I couldn’t sleep. My bones literally hurt because the beds were way too firm. If they had comfy beds I would 100% return. But can’t say I will now.

Hotel was very nice, right across the street from beach access. Room felt clean, bathroom could use some extra cleaning but overall a comfortable stay. Our a/c unit did not work very well, so the room was very muggy/warm by the end of our stay. The unit made a very loud noise when it would kick on so I think it was just a faulty one but that was our only complaint. We had a box fan that helped move air while we slept.

It was a cute hotel, the staff were very nice but overall it wasn't the best experience. First they gave us a key to a room that wasn't ready. So we went back down and got a new key. That room was almost ready i.e. the pillows were on the couch and not on the bed. There was mold on the wall under hook for the towels. There was also some mildew/mold in grout around the tub. We stayed 2 nights. When we came back to our room on the second day it was clear they had not swept the floor from the amount of sand that was left behind. They didn't wipe down the sink and the bed was thrown together. They replaced a few towels but left the wet ones. I know it's by the beach but everything was very damp and the room smelled musty. There was no contential breakfast, not even a muffin. There was a coffee station that had hot water with no tea. I don't drink coffee so this was disappointing. The staff said 'the shipment hadn't come in\" but being in hospitality for 15 years myself best practices say if the shipment is late you go to the grocery store. Figure it out.

Staff was overall very nice and friendly. Included parking, although we were warned to not park along the back because of the golf course. Good location with a quick walk to the beach. Nice lobby and overall good amenities. However, the big amenity we booked based off of was a restaurant onsite and the ability to get breakfast since we had an infant. Restaurant was closed and there was no mention that we could find about it. The room, while big, was not very clean with dust and hair balls and didn't look well vacuumed. Our tissue box was basically empty and two of our towels had stains on them. There were multiple walls that had stains on them and a large section if the floor was sticky.

Walt is a creeper that cares more about trying to Big Dawg the guests so he can attempt to impress his co-workers that are by in large 50 years younger
than him, than he does being hospitable. He’s totally lost the plot and believes he’s the main character. We’re all there to bolster his ego. People that talk about Southern Hospitality, have clearly not traveled very much because in all my travels have not experienced worse hospitality anywhere in the world. It’s sad because it’s a decent place in a good location and if it were properly managed the place would do a killing, instead you have a total buffoon managing it that’s got everyone wound so tight that they are screaming at you from across the lobby over other guests for some minor perceived infraction or threatening to call the police on you for trying to retrieve a Amazon package from the front desk. Seriously stay away, you’ve been warned. Walt, semantics would be calling you anything other than totally inept and bald.

I stayed for a couple days, to be close to the beach. I had an event in Beaufort, NC but I wanted to be closer to the beach. All went very smooth and was very convenient. I brought my bike because I did not realize they have bikes available for use, for free. That is a nice service. I would defenitely stay there again.

Not hotels fault, but both people we spoke to were very condescending about it and said \"that's what happens when you book 3rd party\". Really? There was just no need for the attitude. They say one bad apple spoils the bunch, well if there are 2 bad apples then it completely ruins your trip. Which is exactly what happened in my case. The creepy and low vibe hotel manager Walt and his minion Kristina decided that they would prefer to sell my room again and fabricated a series of lies about my children misbehaving and disturbing other guests. I know they are lies, because they happened to be with me the entire time. When I challenged Walt on his assertions, he acquiesced but I had already packed cleaned up the room and packed the car. Regardless, the whole thing was beyond bizarre and didn’t feel comfortable staying there knowing there was such a dishonest creep running the show. Do not stay there if he’s at all associated with the hotel. Upper management definitely needs to make immediate changes to their staff.

Our stay here was disappointing. Restaurant: closed. Bar: closed. Our room was sad, and noisy; it was hard to sleep with a rattling mini fridge and extremely loud and outdated AC. Since all the amenities were closed, it made for a miserable stay. Even the bikes that are supposed to be for the guest's entertainment were old and rusty that I didn't want to risk riding an unkept bike. Not coming back here again.

After a grueling 7-hour drive, I arrived at 9:00 PM only to be blindsided at check-in.
Despite no prior disclosure during the booking process, the front desk informed me of a mandatory $15 resort fee and a $100 pet fee. Charging over $100 in surprise fees upon arrival is predatory and unprofessional.
To make matters worse, the room was poorly maintained; the floors were covered in sand, which is unacceptable regardless of the price point. I submitted a formal complaint to management regarding the lack of transparency and the cleanliness of the room, but I have received zero response.
If you are traveling with a pet or expecting honest pricing, I strongly recommend staying elsewhe

Breakfast was not available at this time of year. The pool was not heated. However, during the summer it probably gets nice and warm. The people are nice. The rooms are spacious. The staff was helpful. Parking is easy. I paid the resort fee and I was able to use available carts and they had bicycles for the kids if they wanted them not overly crowded. We would stay at the Hotel Alice again because of the location and affordability but would come prepared for the Hotel’s lack of service and amenities.
Be aware that many of the studio rooms do not have a sitting area as pictured. Instead the sitting area is an additional bedroom with bunk beds. The desk clerk seemed surprised that a couple in their 70s was unhappy with the difference and didn’t seem to know which rooms had couches. There is also a $15 a day resort fee that covers the use of first come/first served beach wagons and bikes. A nice feature but something you may overlook when booking.
We stayed for 3 nights. Our room was not cleaned, our towels were not replaced, our coffee was not replenished and most annoying, the room was not swept for sand! It’s the beach, no matter how careful you are, there will be sand. We asked for a broom to do it ourselves but the only thing that would really work would have been a vacuum. We spent three days brushing off sand before getting into bed to no avail. No housekeeping staff anywhere
Our stay was off season (mid April) so no restaurant or bar. This is not stated on the listing. While cleanish, the tub caulking was missing and full of mildew. I’m guessing that is related to the lack of housekeeping staff.
I have no idea if service improves during peak season but it looks like the price jumps considerably so know what you’re getting when you book your stay. The location is great. It’s right across the street from the beach.

Our flight home was canceled due to the big storm. We had to wait 4 1/2 days for a flight home. We decided to drive to Atlantic Beach from Charlotte, to visit my husband's home town. We booked a king bed at the Alice on Monday morning, to stay Tuesday and Wednesday night. We arrived and were told that checking in at 3 pm instead of 4 would cost us. We were tired, so we just said ok. THEN he told us that he didnt have any king rooms because he just had 2 other people show up and took his last king rooms. Since we booked through Expedia, he couldn't refund our money. We asked for an ocean view room, at least. Instead, he put us in a 2 doubles room, NOT on the ocean side. These beds could NOT hold 2 people, so we ended up sleeping in separate beds. Wednesday morning, we went sightseeing. We came back at 330 pm to be told that the elevator area was shut down so they could strip and wax the floor. We had to go up stairs to the 4th floor, back downstairs at 530 pm for a family dinner, and back up the stairs at 830 pm to get to our room. At 7 am the next morning, they STILL had the elevators shut down. I called to ask when they were going to open up the elevators, and was told that they wouldn't open up until 10 am. We had to leave, so we had to bring a lot of luggage down from the 4th floor on stairs. When I got downstairs to drop room keys, elevators were standing open, but I could walk all the way across the \"waxed\" floors to an empty front desk, that nobody came to.

General property, especially elevators, need some updating. Check-in was slowed by technical issues.
Room only had an office chair to sit in which made staying in the room uncomfortable with few places to sit.
