Everything was great until I pulled back the covers to get in the king size bed and found it was full of sand and very small dark curly hairs. Since I didn’t want to cause a fuss at 1 am with the security guard, who was the only staff available from 7 - 7,
I pulled all the bedding off and slept in one of the twin beds instead. Definitely a one and done at the Atlantic Beach Resort for me. I would ask for a refund if I thought they would issue one.

I've been coming to this resort for many years when it was part of our timeshare. I can say they have really improved the property since they're pulling out of the timeshare business. It was cleaner, just overall better quality. Wonderful check-in and contact with the hosts. I would definitely come here again.

The room was updated and very clean! However, I strongly dislike it when the advertising for the resort doesn't state when amenities listed, aren't available. Had i known the splash pad was broken and the indoor pool, hot tub was also unavailable I would not have booked there. Also, I didn't like that you could so loudly hear tge people above us. It sounded like a heard of elephants above us. When I asked for more coffee, I was sent to find the maintenance/ housekeeping building vs it being available at the front desk where it was supposed to be. If I'm staying 3 nights I would expect coffee for three nights.
I probably won't stay here again but the rooms themselves were great .

My family and I stayed for 3 days for our 10 year olds birthday. It was amazing. The resort was very spacious and clean. We’ve stayed at other places in the area but this place was by far our favorite! We will be booking again for our next stay.

Overall enjoyable. They seem pretty understaffed for the size of the place. The staff I interacted with was cordial. If you stay more than a couple of days you will have to go to the laundry exchange to get linen.

A text is sent to your phone asking if you have any issues or concerns. I had an issue of the smell of marijuana coming through the bathroom vents 3 or 4 nights. I reached out about it but did not get a response. A lot of stains on sitting furniture. There is also construction on site at times.

The place seemed newly renovated which was nice. The issues above didn't prevent us from having a solid stay but just worth being aware of before you book

I had a great stay!! The staff were very friendly and helpful. They stayed in contact throughout our stay. I loved having beach access so close which was one reason I chose to stay at this resort.
The accommodations were tidy and spacious.
The beds were very comfortable as well and having two bathrooms was also a plus!! Having a full kitchen also came in handy as we cooked Christmas dinner for our family. I would definitely stay here again.

I booked this as a weekend getaway. It's definitely more of a family- friendly resort property. I was looking more for ocean-front. There were no ocean views. That was my biggest disappointment. Overall, the rooms were nice, comfortable, clean, and well-stocked. I would recommend if you're coming with a family for a week, and want on property things to do, or even for a larger trip.

Great location right near the beach. A quick walk on a nice pathway to get to the Atlantic. Our room was fully stocked with kitchen two bedrooms and two patios.

The beds were very comfortable.

My only request would be to have smart TVs so we could log into our own accounts.

It was dirty and noisy. And I went to pay the fee for my pets dogs and told the lady that the shower was not clean if she could send somebody to clean and they didn’t they just brought us more towels and left them by the door. And the balcony it looks like they haven’t cleaned for years too. There was hand prints in the glass door to go out to the balcony. The kitchen I had it to wipe down the counter and the stove. And there were spiders too. Definitely not staying here again. The place looks decent but they need to clean and fumigate everything for the spiders and mosquitoes it was bad.

Our 2 bedroom unit could have and should have been cleaned better. Little things like the return vent was full of dirt. I had to sweep and clean. The front door had a good size gap to which bugs or rodents could get inside the unit. Upon our exit, we made sure the room was cleaned with the exception of dirty linen and towels. However, if we return I would have to reconsider them, it could have been worse.

We were pleasantly surprised by the size of our room and the amount of amenities - 3 pools, jacuzzi, tennis/pickle ball courts, basketball court, laundry facilities, workout room. For families it also has a kids playground and small putt-putt course. The unit had a full kitchen, although we didn't plan on fixing meals. 😀 The beach was right across a small alleyway and there were multiple restaurants within walking distance. We'll definitely return there when staying at Atlantic Beach!

I liked that the staff were in communication with me and I was able to text them if I needed anything. I liked that they took care of everything when requested. I disliked that the bed sheets for the 3 rooms I booked were dirty. The sofa bed mattress were old and dirty as well.

2 outdoor pools but only one was usable during our 3 day stay. Pool furniture in disrepair at the one pool. Limited pool furniture. Parking was a nightmare. 5 gas vehicle spaces available at our corner building and 4 electric. No electric cars during our 3 day stay. I was issued a warning for parking beside the electric space and the security guard put a warning sticker on the drivers side window that left glue on my window. I had to driver like that for 2 hr until I reached home. Very unsafe!! Indoor pool was awful. Large crowd smoking and drinking at the entrance and the smell carried on inside the pool area. Only a handful of outlets worked in room. 4 towels for 6 people. Don’t recommend!!

This was our second stay. Very informative and helpful at check-in. Minor issues for cleanliness. We had a crawling baby and certain things needed attention to cleaning. Air filters, need vacuum in room for carpet and furniture needed a good cleaning. Brought to attention and they did note it to pass along to house cleaning! But overall would stay again. While the beach and beach access was nice, the resort itself was not the best. Check in was a nightmare. With little to no directions provided ahead of time- we arrived late and spent 30 mins in the dark trying to find someone to check us in. There isn’t a sign for the resort and the security guard we finally found wandering the parking lot couldn’t tell us if we were at the right location. We ended up with a ground floor unit at the back of the property that had dingy furniture and was over run with flies. Also the bathroom shower in the master flooded the bathroom with each shower. The pools were not well maintained either.

We've stayed at AB resort before and had a certain type room. We were expecting same type of room, but got a different type room that was a bit cramped for four but it worked ok. Also they've started charging for parking at the resort, which is kind of odd and unnecessary, but it is what it is.

The room quality was not good, from the moment we open the front door that was broken. The subfloor was definitely rotted out... from the front door, the kitchen area, many spots in the hallway & second bedroom the floor felt sponge-ee and in certain spots we literally felt like we would fall through. We let the property know but was told "we'll have maintenance look into it" which they never did and no further communication was had regarding the issues.

The cleanliness was sapar at best. The corners and floor had dust bunnies and looked to be rushed to be clean and was VERY Grimey. The furniture was dirty and stained and definitely needed a GOOD clean.

We were pretty disappointed in this stay. We've stayed here before two separate times and loved it! So this was a BIG let down for all of us.

Older property but comfortable. Main points of the room were clean but patio, baseboards and floor were dirty. Walls are exceptionally thin, so you will be part of your neighbors vacation. Fan in the bedroom was broken, missing artwork from bedroom wall, towel hanger pulled out of wall. Check in is at 4pm and strict check out of 10am. A list of cleaning items that need to be completed before check out. I didn't mind but it seems Hotel check ins/outs are becoming later/earlier. The pools were nice but never used them. Plenty of towels and loved having a washer/dryer. Felt very beachy and just down the road from a beautiful park and shopping. I would definitely stay again.

Our AC in the unit was out during a week with temps in mid 90s. We were not offered a room change until we had to call security on the 4th night. Each day, they would send someone out to reset the system, it would run for a couple hours then shut off again. Management was not responsive to our concerns. Only the after hours security guys were of any help. Its still a great beach so we made the best of it, but decided to leave 1 day early.

Poor communication and false information given about the rooms so we went expecting an ocean view and got to look at a giant tree all week instead. Not clean, you do everything yourself (trash, linens, ect) despite being told they’d come swap out linens at check in. It was not s resort and not on the beach. You had to pack your car and drive to parking and walk over a street and boardwalk to get there.
When we arrived we had to load up a luggage cart and drag it thru 3 glass doors and ride and elevator to our floor. The building walls abd floors are thin as can be and you hear everything.
People checked in at 2:30am above us and woke us up as they took 45 minutes to get settled.
Avoid this place at all costs. There are better places to stay on the island.
Way over priced!

Not a problem to get a space end of April/early May when we went. Loved the beach. Took a ferry to Shackleford Island from nearby Beaufort and had a nice few hours on its secluded beach with the wild ponies roaming near. Brought lunch and chairs. Nice afternoon. Had dinner in Beaufort after. Ferry staff very helpful with recommending Beaufort dining options. Unit was clean and comfortable Appears to have had some updates. Three stars is accurate for the property —it gets a five star rating for its class.

We were very pleased with the check in and overall room conditions. Rooms could use some updating. Tile was chipped in several places and toilets were very loose a few cabinets would not stay shut. The room was very clean and spacious. The beds were very comfortable. The down sides were pool heat not working, so no pool available. We were locked out of the room on the second day even though maintenance had been around earlier in that morning to check the door locks. Key card would not work for room and we had to wait out in the cold for a while for maintenance to arrive and let us in. Cards also did not work for laundry or gym access. Occupancy was very low at the time of our stay, but we had some extremely loud and disruptive people staying above us. It would have been nice to have had them spaced apart considering the entire building was empty besides them and us. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and served the purpose that we needed.

Thanksgiving Stay vs. CHRISTmas Stay

When we stayed there last month, it was AMAZING. The room and front desk (Lacie) was super nice. This time when we stayed, it was not as good. At check-in, my significant other paid and registered my mother-in-law's car for the 20th, and the front desk guy registered it for the 19th. The same guy also gave us pool bands. Later into our stay, we find out the indoor pool was closed. The TV's were outdated and were not compatible with the kids' electronics. The bathroom mirrors were a little tarnished, and the deck had some kind of hair smeared on the wall. We are local, but we book at PepperTree during the Thanksgiving and CHRISTmas season, because we are able to fit our whole family there, and the kids have multiple things to do. During these get togethers, I cook a meal for the enitre family. The kitchen last month was equipped with everything needed, but this one was not. I had to use a handheld can opener that did not even turn. The first day, the front desk guy sent a text asking how everything was going with the room. I told him it was not as nice as the month prior, but we will take it, and we never heard from him after that (Lacey checked in everyday from arrival to departure the time prior.) If you are staying in an up to date room, and Lacey is your front desk girl, you're golden. If your room is not up to date, and she is not your front desk girl, it's not going to be a heavenly stay.

We were there off season so there weren't many people staying there so we would have preferred a first floor room. Other than that it was a very enjoyable stay.

Easy check in, comfortable and spacious accommodations, beach access. Nice to be there in the off season. Walls were thin, could hear our neighbors TV clearly and them whistling in the kitchen in the morning. Thought it was in our room.

Great find!

We loved this place. Check- in was friendly and easy. The room was large and well laid out. The bed was very comfortable and roomy.
Althoigh we didnt get to use a lot of the amenities this trip, we loved the beach access, pools, workout room and the lovely property.
This will be our new go-to hotel when we are in the area.
