Take this review from someone who has never stayed in a bed and breakfast and knew nothing of proper protocol I guess you could say. I will start off by saying it was a very nice and clean property. convenient and walkable to all shops and dining.

What did not go well….our room was on the main level and it is where others could gather. You could hear when people were out in the area and it was very awkward to just coming out of your room and having the main part where people could sit and congregate right there. Next, our room was so hot. I could not get it at a good temp. I was so miserable and it wasn’t even super hot out. Plus there was a sheet and then a super heavy comforter on the bed so you didn’t have much of an option to cover up with unless you wanted to sweat. The host was nice but very blunt. We stayed here because this town does not have large hotel chains in the quaint downtown area of it. So this is your option for a stay. No problem. Well we never knew we had to make it known we would not be having breakfast in the morning. We had to get to be somewhere and had to leave by 9:30 (breakfast hours 9-10) and it wasn’t served yet (1/2 hour past time it was stated to be at) but no big deal. So we said we had to take off. We basically got scolded in front of the other guests to “let her know” if we won’t be having breakfast tomorrow either so she doesn’t make extra. We paid $350 a night so a few extra eggs shouldn’t mean a reason to treat us that way.

Great place but no EV charging

Place is very nice and clean. Our premium room was spacious, and the owner, Molly, was incredibly friendly and helpful. My only feedback is that the B&B states in its list of amenities that it has onsite EV car charging. While technically true that a 110V plug and extension cord could feasibly charge a car, it would be at a glacial pace. Also, any hotel simply with an outdoor electrical plug could make the same claim, so it’s a bit misleading. I would expect some sort of dedicated destination charger for EVs with that claim. Also every time I tried to plug in my car into the 110V socket, the power shut off via the outlet’s breaker. Therefore, we had to pay for charging at the Tesla Destination charger located in the Best Western parking lot on the outskirts of town. Molly was very apologetic and kind enough to follow us and drive us back to the B&B after plugging in my car, but I had to take an Uber back after the charge completed. I’m leaving this review so that other EV owners know how to plan their visit.

Wonderful stay for a summer trip in Saugatuck, Michigan! Welcoming host, fantastic breakfast, and lovely porch and backyard to relax. Our room was beautifully decorated and clean with a comfortable bed. Easy walk to shops, restaurants, and the pull-chain ferry to cross the river to enjoy Oval Beach. The Inn was delightful. Our room was clean and our private bath was too. Lots of hot water and an room air conditioner made it very comfortable. The grounds were nice. We enjoyed sitting in the back garden. Molly is a fabulous host and a great cook! Her breakfasts were amazing. We loved the location. We could walk to restaruants, shops and the marina.

The absolute best experience. You will enjoy your stay from start to finish. Molly gave us the rundown of the house and showed us our beautiful room. The house was quiet, clean, and delightful. You will enjoy your stay. I did accidentally leave a pair of black shoes there. Molly, I hope you are a size 8 1/2.

Amazing location. Ample parking. Molly is an engaging host. The property was built in the 1860s I believe so with that comes a high level of charm as well as some slight inconveniences such as a small shower and vanity. There is AC and there also was an additional AC unit in our room but it didn’t cool much. All in all a very pleasant stay though.

Twin Oaks Inn was fantastically perfect in every way. We went for our anniversary…our 1st time in Saugatuck. We were greeted by Molly and she was wonderful. Made us feel completely at home. Our room was perfect, and absolutely spotless. She had everything we could have needed in case we forgot something. The included breakfast each morning was delicious and Molly was so pleasant to talk to. I would absolutely stay here again if we make our way back to Saugatuck. Perfect location, everything was easily walkable and I’m not really much of a walker. But I had no problems whatsoever. 10 out of 10!!

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights mid-week. We were looking for a location that would be easily walkable to the downtown area. The location for Twin Oaks is surely that being only a block away. The proprietors, Molly and Rob, are extremely personable and accommodating. The breakfasts that Molly created and served were outstanding! Our room was very spacious and comfortable. This included a private bathroom which was also was large and nicely updated. The common area areas quaint and comfortable. We especially enjoyed sitting in the outdoor backyard area enjoying the surroundings with our coffee. 2 thumbs up and we'd be more than happy to go back!!

Twin Oaks Inn is a beautiful house with lovely facilities. Our hosts, Molly and Ron, were are nice and friendly as can be and they made us feel like their home was OUR home. Our bedroom was comfortable and beautifully decorated; Our bathroom was very large and even had a jacuzzi tub. Everything was of the highest quality and we felt very pampered. Really great! Twin Oaks Inn is amazing in every way! Molly, the innkeeper, is so personable & informative. The inn is charming, clean, and has all the amenities one needs. The location is perfect, a 2 block walk to town. On-site, free parking is a bonus. I must mention the delicious breakfast that even met my husband’s gluten-free allergy needs. Why stay somewhere else?

When you stay at a B&B, you anticipate a different experience than a hotel can provide. Quaint. Personal. Entertaining, even. Twin Oaks is all of that and more. Molly was an excellent hostess and conversationalist, and made our stay a delight. Breakfast was always delicious and with a unique, tasty twist. The inn was beautiful inside, and our room was cozy and comfortable, with a nice large bathroom. Everything was immaculately clean, and there was always water, coffee and tea available.

This was our first stay at Twin Oaks (and won't be our last). The main reason we chose Twin Oaks was location - and it was perfect. Everything in Saugatuck (except Oval Beach) was easily within walking distance - usually just 2 to 4 blocks away. Molly is very familiar with local shops and restaurants, and is always ready to guide you to the good spots (you have to go to Saugatuck just to try the Nashville hot fried chicken at The Southerner!).

One of the best B&Bs we have ever stayed in. Sherry and Lori could not have been nicer. They keep the place immacualte and up to date. They provide all necessary amenities, and make the stay very enjoyable. The breakfast was gourmet and superb There was not anything that wew didn't like, and would most definitely return when we are in the area. Highly recommended.
