I chose this motel for its proximity to Gore Mountain for 2 days of skiing. The motel was very quiet and so close to Gore Mountain. I highly recommend this motel for all the amenities you need for a 3 night stay.

Motel wasnt the most beautiful. The tiles in the bathroom needed replaceing - the thermostat had a note on it to use the mini split instead, it smelled of smoke and years gone by , but you cant beat the \"mind your own business\" vibe, the location, and the overall odd charm.

The hotel, or more if a motel, was situated in a convenient location to Gore Mountain and hiking trails. Beck's bar and the Yurt bars looked nice, though we didnt get an opportunity to enjoy them. The room was overall clean, but had a little bit of a musty smell. Despite that, the beds were comfortable. All in all, we enjoyed our stay.

The hotel didn’t seem so bad when pulling in. Opened the door and it wasn’t very pleasant. There were flies in the bathroom, popcorn and crumb on the floor next to and under bed, looked like mold on heater, coffee maker hadn’t been clean, fridge door wasn’t clean, the toilet looked like it had dried urine all over, bathtub looked very dirty, spider webs all around and over the bed. The door knob looked like it was going to fall off and didn’t feel safe at my location. Due to all that we chose not to stay and found shelter else where. The hotel should not be charging what they charge for a night, way to much money for a place like that. Other than that the hotel workers seem very nice and pleasant to deal with. Hopefully Expedia or the owners can and will do the right thing with a refund or at least partial.

Coziest stay in ADK

It’s the coziest room you can get that close to Gore Mountain. 8 pillows of various sizes and shapes on each bed make for a comfortable sleep. Little touches like glass bottled local water and a bag of Swedish Fish candy make this place stand apart from the competition. I’ll continue to stay there whenever I’m in the area.

What a great small town hotel. The room was very clean and had all the essentials. You can walk next door to Beck's Tavern which is a great place for food, drink and hanging with the locals who were all very friendly. This isn't the Ritz but if you like local spots with the friendly vibe, this is the place for you when in North Creek, NY.

Upon arrival at 4:30 the office was locked.
The photo on-line is a picture of Becks Tavern making people think the motel looks like a lodge.
Pillow cases had stains of who knows what!
The room had an awful odor and there were “odor eater” containers in the corner which looked like they have been there for years.
The cost for the one night stay was over $200.00. The value should have been closer to $78.00 (being generous).
I have no idea how this place gets rave reviews especially with the price you pay.
We did eat at Becks Tavern. Typical bar food but overpriced for what you get.
I recommend you drive into town and stay elsewhere.

We got there late on a Saturday night. The keyless check in via the emailed pin pad worked perfectly. Although the kitchen was short staffed in the pub, the food came out quick and we got to have a few beers after a long day on the motorcycle. The room was clean and well furnished. If I ever come back through, I’ll be sure to stay there again!

Never judge a book by its cover. We pulled up to the motel and immediately thought “ Bates motel”. But once you park and enter your room, it was a charming spot. Clean, comfortable, I was more than satisfied. Becks in the back was great. Didn’t have dinner but the live music and tasty drinks made this charmer a must hit again. Also the bagels at izzzys deli in town are the best outside NYC.

Our family of four stayed in a bunk bed room and overall we loved it. Everything about the hotel was welcoming. During covid with an unvaxed kid we were very happy to have the yurts (largely unused when the bar is closed) to hang out in during the week.

If I could ask the owner to improve anything; 1 better toilet paper 2. Work on the towels which were clean but still smelled musty and 3. Better entrance rugs to catch the dirt as the rooms got quite gritty even though we were religious about taking off our shoes. If you did those three things your hotel would earn another star. That said, I’d likely go back if I were in the area.

Imagine- after a day of skiing, hiking or touring around the beauty of North Creek/Gore Mountain, returning to an updated and comfortable version of a motor lodge. Great WiFi, thoughtful places to dry your gloves, boots, wet clothes; comfortable chairs and beds, fridge, microwave and suggestions for eats, coffee, etc. We arrived quite late and were warmly welcomed! A true gem.

The yurts were very fun, stocked with fire wood, games/cards, and was a chill lounging area. Definitely will stay again

Comfy and Convenient!

Booked a last minute trip to Gore and got the last room here. Wasn't sure what to expect based on the photo (looked like an old motor lodge) but it was so close to the mountain. Very pleasantly surprised! Received a welcome email with lots of great info right after booking and the room was super comfortable with some nice touches like swedish fish, hand warmers, and my favorite Saratoga sparkling water. Loved the key pad door lock and no need to get a key in the office. Kids loved the bunk beds and wanted to stay another night and the king bed and bedding was very comfortable. The only reason I wouldn't give this place a 10 is that the price was kind of high but we did book last minute at the end of a holiday week so we would definitely check this place out again.

Gore Mountain Lodge was a perfecr choice for our Christmas ski family vacation. We stayed for 3 nigjts and had a great time! We had 2 adjacent rooms which worked perfectly for us. The rooms were very spacious, clean and had all the things we needed: cofee maker, microwave and a mini fridge. Each room even has a small library of books! We will definitely return!

Great Hotel, you wil be very pleased!

Lovely small motel and Lodge right next to Gore Mountain Ski Area.
Becks Restaurant is 100 steps away with superb and tasty German and America Specialties.
The host were a great resource for local information. I also visited the Gore Mountain Garnet Mines and collected some great samples.
You will not be disappointed and I am sure I will visit this property again.

I picked the lodge really because of price. I was spending a few days motorcycle touring the Adirondacks in Summer, & I suspect most of the reviews will relate to how the place is in winter. The location is fine, but it is isolated couple of miles from town - so no drinking and walking home. Probably good, because when I got home I found the cleaner had left the door unlocked anyway. I'm not sure what the cleaner did - the bed was unmade, but my socks had been taken off and put on the floor, and the garbage can emptied, and the tip-for-cleaner box checked. Also good was the absolute silence at night for sleeping. The room was cluttered and felt damp, but might have been empty for a while before my stay. Huge plus for me was a Keurig machine in the room, and a note suggesting a good local place for breakfast. I might stay there again if in the area, but not if I had my (fussier) girlfriend with me. I cannot think why anyone would be impressed to give the top ratings. I picked the most affordable place to sleep in the area, and I got it.

I chose this hotel the the location and convenience to our activities. That being said the cleanliness the the room was horrible, not to mention the cable being out for our stay, even down to the sour half and half for our coffee. I know the hotel was dated which was not a problem, I think its part of charm. But paying Manhattan prices for upstate NY I think the service should be better. The restaurant on the premises was good and outside adjacent to the restaurant was a fire pit which you can sit around if not for the smell of a nearby septic pit. To wrap up I have never made a review like this before, but for the money I've spent, I rather take my chances at the Bates Motel.

Very close to Gore Mt. Check in and check out was very easy. Received an email prior to arrival indicating room, and key combination. Property included snow shoes for hiking, a securr yurt fir ski storage, and worksop to tune and wax skis. I did not use that service, and assume you would need your own vises. Good restaurant and bar on premises, with good food with kids menu. The $$ may be,more than some,other choices, but very close to Gore, very clean and comfortable. Woul reccomend.

Excellent location for skiing at Gore. Very convenient to have the tavern right next door. Room was good and clean. Only downside was the thermostat was set to drop automatically to 62° during the night so I had to take my morning shower in a chilly room. Not the way I wanted to start my day when the outdoor temp was sub zero.

Very unique amenities inside the room. From pictures on the wall to a lazy boy chair and 7 pillows on the bed .
Speaking of the bed, very comfortable and clean. The only thing I'm not so sure I like is there are no restaurants close by for breakfast in the morning. There's a tavern outback which I did not frequent. That's really all that I could see in the area. I love that it's very very close to Gore mountain

We fell in love with this little lodge! It was so quaint and cozy! We were welcomed with a bag of mini Swedish fish, my favorite candy, and a bottle of sparkling water! The art on the walls was all done by family members of the lodge and gave it a more homey feel. The property is beautiful and the energy there is just so peaceful! We hiked up to one of the waterfalls and felt like the only people on Earth!
Beck's is a great restaurant too! They had a few veggie options which isn't always easy to find! The cheddar broccoli soup was the best I've ever had! Our server was friendly and efficient too.
My partner and I booked this weekend after a festival we were supposed to go to was canceled due to a state of emergency in Watkins Glen. We were really dissapointed in missing out on the festival and wanted to do something special with our weekend. Gore Mountain Lodge was the perfect place to go and just spend quality time together. We are so happy we found this place and will return someday!

This is a great place to stay

We stayed overnight to go railbiking, which was also a wonderful experience. We typically stay at large hotels, so we weren’t sure what to expect. We found that all of the positive reviews we read were spot on. This lodge is charming, clean, unique and is close to the quaint town of North Creek. Becks, the on-site tavern, has great food and service. The local clientele was friendly, as was the staff and owners. We were also pleasantly surprised to find a yummy dopplebock on tap. Others have noted that Becks is only open until 10 pm daily. If you like embibe a bit later like we do, make use of the fridge in your room and the comfy chairs on your stoop. We will definitely stay here again if we find ourselves in the North Creek area.

The lodge is a very cozy place to stay. The room was no frills, but very comfortable. The beds were firm, the staff accommodating, and the AC was a welcome relief from the hot temperatures. A good value for the price. Beck’s Tavern, the associates restaurant, has tasty Alpine food.

Our room was spacious by Adirondack standards and very comfortable. The look may be rustic, but the room had all of the modern amenities we needed. The restaurant on site is also a welcoming place with good food at reasonable prices. Close to Main Street for additional perks. We came to kayak around the Schroon Lake area and this hotel was a better choice for us after comparing with other options right in Schroon Lake. Will stay again.
