We stayed here for two nights. It was just ok. Don't expect anything over the top considering how much you're paying. Breakfast is traditional Ecuadorian food. The hotel is close to all the downtown festivities and shops and is directly across the street from the city's main waterfall. We stayed here the weekend of Palm Sunday. The city was crazy with people, especially outside of the hotel. So, if you stay here that particular weekend, be prepared to be awakened very early (4am) in the morning with hundreds of people who have come to bath in the hot pools and waterfall.

The hotel was nice but should be noted that the rooms don’t have AC. The staff were very nice and accommodating and brought a fan to the room. Also no elevators. I would suggest that they at least put screens on the windows so that guests can open the window without mosquitoes coming in. When we entered the room there were already mosquitos in the room. The hotel is older but clean.

Wonderful place in town. Quiet locale but close to everything. Excellent staff. Great breakfast. Decent spa. Spacious, nice rooms.

Two suggestions: ceiling fans in the rooms instead of chandeliers. I had to sleep with my balcony doors open in order to cool the room down at night.

No phones in the spa wasn’t followed by Ecuadorians who visited. Many on speaker phones / FaceTimes instead of observing the quiet signage posted. Spa staff notified but weren’t open to requesting they stop so I left on numerous occasions.

The \"Cabanas Luxury Matrimonial\" were bare basic. No ventilation, no AC, no fan, windows open but don't have screens to keep bus out. No chairs to sit, 2 towels, 2 hangers, 1 bottle of water, nothing else. The price was very reasonable though. The 2 jacuzzies were not hot. One was lukewarm and the other was cold. There were plenty of spa options available.

For sure one of the premier properties in Banos and the location in front of the waterfall can’t be beat! Plus a large outdoor pool, game room, pool front bar, indoor hot tubs and spa, all first class! The breakfast buffet with the patio overlooking the waterfall is amazing too!!! I strongly recommend. We have stayed at both the outdoor cabanas and the indoor rooms. Only downside to all rooms (especially if you’re used to AC) is the lack of fans or AC. Thankfully maintenance sent us a fan or we would’ve roasted. The cabanas don’t look nice from the outside but inside are still beautiful with a great bathroom, shower, and comfy bed. Highly recommend for the price, location, and amenities!

All in all this is a great place to stay. The service is great and the staff is nice and helpful. The place stays very clean although it sometimes smells like chemical cleaning products in the halls and the lobby. The restaurant next door is really good and the breakfast is decent. More gluten free options would be appreciated. Sometimes its kind of loud, but the rooms are nice and I always slept great here. The location next to the termas across the street is a big reason I'll keep coming back. Its nice to just walk over there.

The extent of the work being done on the hotel was not fully disclosed upon booking. I think this would otherwise be a nice place, so I would just confirm everything is done, especially the pool. Also there is build being put in on adjacent property that our room was looking down on. No fault of the hotel, but it was still very loud.

A lovely place in a very good location. The hot springs are literally across the street with a beautiful view of a waterfall that is lit in different colors at night. So make sure to bring bathing suites to enjoy the thermal springs. The hotel itself was very clean with a delicious free breakfast.

Too many little things in the room were broken, toilet didn’t flush properly, The electricity outlet were not working you couldn’t charge anything , the phone didn’t work so I couldn’t call the reception I had to leave the building go to another building at midnight to talk to the receptionist about the problems. The window to the balcony was broken. The next day they changed my room the new room looked nicer but the sink in the bathroom was clogged and wasn’t draining. This place is not managed well so at the end of the day you feel very frustrated. The front desk staff misguide you buy wrong information for example the lady at the front desk convinced me to see the waterfall at night not during the day but when I went at night I could not see anything it was too dark and dangerous you were 45 minutes walking down

The hotel is beautiful, twenty minute walk to the town center but The hotel is managed very poorly, if you stay here be ready to get frustrated many many times. When I checked in first they gave me a room that so many things in the room were broken, the window was broken someone had to come and fix it the phone wasn’t working so I had to leave the building go to another building to the receptionist at night talk to them about the problems , the toilet wasn’t flushing properly, all the electricity outlets were not working nothing was getting charged. The next day they changed my room, in the new room the sink in the bathroom was clogged and wasn’t draining. I do not recommend staying here.

The place is great. It is close to downtown (restaurants, bars, nightclubs, travel agencies, etc.). The building is old, but it is hard to tell because the furniture is new. The poll & SPA areas are great.

The only downside of the hotel is the noise. There was a party until 3 am, the people were drinking and talking loudly in the pool area. We traveled with small kids, so it was hard to put them in bed. Baños is a town where lots of young people visit it for their nite life, that’s why we were willing to pay more for a family-friendly hotel. Sadly it was not. The hotel was great if you want to travel with your couple or friends to have fun in the town. If you are looking for a place to rest and spend time with your family, this is not the place.

As other reviewers have stated, this is a hotel that is probably advertised with one star more than it deserves. Our two rooms in the ‘plaza’ section were very worn, with wood trimming badly chipped and bathroom tiles in need of deep cleaning. That said the rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. As for the rest of the hotel - the main building seems new and/or renovated, the breakfast was excellent, but the pool/spa area was frankly quite dilapidated and in need of a thorough facelift. Lastly I had an unpleasant checkout experience with the receptionist clearly not understanding how Expedia works and nearly double charging me. There was also a 100$ discrepancy between what I paid Expedia and what the hotel was actually charging which I aim to take up with the latter. Overall a very mixed experience.

This is a very nice hotel close to everything in town of Banos. Helpful staff, delicious breakfast buffet included. Spa with steam, sauna, various hot to cold tubs, jacuzzi. Massage services at a great price. We will definitely keep this as our family’s hotel to stay in a Banos. The only thing I didn’t like was the tub was really high to get in and out of. We stayed in a more luxury room but saw the standard room and it was very nice as well. The street was a little noisy until about 10-11. So if that bothers you ask for a room on the pool side.

The hotel was very accommodating with our needs. There was a miscommunication between expedia and the hotel where we needed 2 rooms instead of 1 and they quickly resolved it by finding us another room.

Rooms were confortable. The spa area was gery nice and was near the thermal baths.
