We did not stay. When we arrived we were informed the pool and hot tu was closed. There was water in both. When we did get to the room the phone didn’t work. We asked for a refund and we were told Expedia would give us a full refund, but would not give us a refund receipt. The motel was not as advertised.

Love it
Gary
Convenient location for the plans we had. As for the room, it was quiet but not well-lit. Walking into the room, flipping the switch for light and nothing. We later found out was that the light switch at the door worked the light on the desk but was not very bright. Even with that light plus the lights by the bed, it is still not a well-lit room. As for breakfast, it was mediocre at best. There were two different kinds of sausage and biscuits and gravy but no eggs. Since we had to leave early, we opted for just cereal and toast. The toast took forever but once they did pop up, the bread was warm but not toasted. After trying to toast it again, it turns out that only one side toasted. Apparently, the coils are burnt out on one side. There was no attendant to make anyone aware of the issue. We spent so little time in the room other than to sleep and shower, if we do ever have the opportunity to come to Fort Dodge in the future, I am not sure I would give this hotel a try again. It served our needs this time.
William
Very low water pressure in the shower.

This has been our go to hotel when in Fort Dodge for the last 2 years. Always clean and comfortable, with a nice breakfast and friendly staff.

Limited breakfast options, but still good value
Duane
Not updated. Ok for a cheaper place. Pool and hot tub were nice
Donald

Melissa
Room was good, clean, comfy bed & pillows. Breakfast was scant & no coffee at 8:00am. Toilet paper & facial tissues were very thin, poor quality.
Heather
Staff was rude and not friendly I doubt we will ever stay there again
Joni Van
Staff was friendly. Hotel was adveritised to have a bar. There is no bar. Could use some refreshing.
David
Staff was amazing, super friendly! Room was good but has a cold chill coming from window but heater is great. I think cold chill was because of it being freezing outside!
Amber

The hotel was pretty clean. Breakfast was ok, the tables were dirty and the food was running low and I didnt see staff come to check the food. We came around 830, so there was another 1.5 hrs for breakfast to be done. The extra blanket we got was still damp. I ran to Walmart to get extra blankets.
Donna
Very clean, safe
Matt
Good Coffee! Great one concept lobby/ breakfast area. Poor lighting and signage at road entrance
Caitlin
I did not eat breakfast. Air conditioning worked great. However, I don’t think my room was ever fully cleaned when I got there as there was a McDonald’s cup in between the wall & the bed I slept in & crumbs on the floor. I told the people working the service desk & they couldn’t be bothered. There was also nail clippings on the floor in the lobby.
Matt
Clean room. Nice staff. Good Breakfast.
Kimberly

Very bad breakfast. I have stayed at other AmericInns and they had good breakfasts and also had cold water always available in the lobby.
Kristine
We didn’t utilize the pool or free breakfast during our stay. The facility was very nice and quiet. Bed was very comfortable and rooms were clean. Would stay here again.

Michael
Polite staff , clean room and great location

Nothing the staff can do, Fort Dodge has a dirth of restaurants, other than fast food.
Dustin
We only stayed for one night, but the hotel was nice and clean. The lady at the front desk was friendly. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. We were able to grab a quick bite to eat from the breakfast early the next morning. Best hotel waffles we’ve ever had.
Debra
This hotel was clean, convenient and near our destination, but is showing it's age.

Amanda
The hotel itself is older but is well kept. Breakfast was fine. Loved the pool area. Check in was smooth with the front desk lady But unfortunately there were interactions with front desk staff (different staff) that were extremely poor. They have negative attitudes and come across extremely rude. They should really keep in mind it is 10% what you say and 90% how you say it. My children were present for many of these interactions and it was unappreciated.
claudia
Did not stay no pool and never got my refund
Stephen
👍
Sandtana
Would not stay there ever again
Michael
Staffed by foreigners who you can barely understand what they are saying and they have some absurd policy where they don't want locals staying at the hotel because apparently some locals were making a mess in the pool in the past so now they try to discriminate against who they let in so i certainly won't be staying here ever again.
Darci
Great price, well taken care of for an older property, clean, comfort bed, hot breakfast well stocked, very clean, accommodating staff
Martha
Older hotel. Probably worth the price, but not a place a would stay at again.

Hands down best experience ever! A++++++++++++++++
From front desk to housekeeping to room, everybody was so kind and accommodating. The beds were super comfortable. I hate to leave.
Susan
Very friendly and helpful staff
Brandon
As expected
Everything was as expected, the pool was nice and breakfast was very much a hotel breakfast.
Leesa
Friendly, helpful staff. Very clean and pleasant! This was our second time staying and we will be back.
Robert
It's ok. If your looking for a quiet hotel away from the majority of town, this was a nice spot. Everything seemed clean. The shower head had a leak that dripped all the time. Breakfast wasnt great, but was better than nothing. It is on the outskirts of town so it was pretty quiet. There was not a lot of guests which was nice. The room we had was a little smaller than some of the other hotels, but it wasnt bad. Overall it was decent if you just need a place to stay for the night. Staff was nice and checking in was easy.
Trishia
I reserved a room for my daughter coming in from Texas. When I went to check in they almost wouldn't let me have it because I'm a Fort Dodge resident. The website said they have cribs and when I checked in none were available. No very happy
Jill
Overall great place.
Annie
Nick was very accommodating with our special requests. Very quiet, clean and very comfortable beds. Great place to take your fur babies :)
Julie
Clean smelling sheets, quiet heater/ac
Jeff
Quiet comfortable hotel with a nice pool and friendly staff.
Alisha
We had a great 1 night stay was actually pleased with it. Everything worked correctly the hot tub was a blessing shower pressure is good and they had strawberries for the waffles super nice when we were checking out during the freeze storm we had.
JOEL A
I was confused by the website which said there's a bar. Nope. Also, my anger resulting from them taking money to which they had no claim, didn’t seem to inspire any concern. Their reaction varied between disinterest and scorn. Lot's of places to stay, give this place a hard pass.
Ernie
Everything went well
Kimber
Nice pool and hot tub, good breakfast options, and clean, comfortable rooms.
Julie
Staff very friendly, everything was very clean.

Just Okay
Overall not a terrible stay. We booked the superior suite that had the hot tub in room but the jets didn't work properly. The fireplace in the room also didn't work at all. Other than that the stay was okay. Used the pool quite a bit and took advantage of the free breakfast.
Jane
Nice, clean, new.
Amy
Very good hotel with a nice pool and hot tub, friendly staff, and a good breakfast in the morning. Pool and hot tub hours are very family friendly.
Donna
Convenient
Kim
It was excellent for our needs. Right off the highway we were traveling. Excellent continental breakfast. Several hot items. Room was clean, nicely furnished. It had microwave and a fridge. Very comfortable.
Diane
This trip was fine. I’d stay again.
Diane
I had just had a very stressful day and rented the room that had the jetted tub in it and when I checked in, they put me in the wrong room, but the woman at the front desk was so kind and did everything she could and got me into one of the other rooms that had a jetted tub and everything was wonderful.
Verified traveler
Zero hospitality, very rude general manager
Hospitality was zero, this being a hotel living on that very word, that’s about as low as it gets. I got extensive travel experience and never encountered such behavior. The assumed General Manager on site, a male, working the night shift on Sept 16 was incredibly rude and uncooperative. We asked for a one hour late check out saying that I had a zoom meeting the next morning and were on the road, we got a “I can give you 30mins” with the reason that “they will have other guests coming the next day” - you would hope they have other customers showing up in the future since that is the very income of a hotel. When I asked if there was anywhere else on the property I could sit and take my meeting that would end at 12, I got a flat no. Eventually we negotiated to a “11.45 checkout” with a lot of pain, if it wasn’t for the fact it was 11pm in the middle of Iowa with limited hotels, I would have just left. Needless to say, checking out in the morning (11.45am) - not on single customer on premises. Bad. Book something else, we do not was to support this type of business practice.

Hot tub was out of order, had to swipe my key card to get into room multiple times, a few plugins in room didn't work.

Nice motel, it’s an older building with a face lift.

We had so many issues, such as the A/C was not able to keep up. The room was 81° when we went to sleep & that was with a fan in there too. The TVs didn't work in the room either. There was no soap stocked in the room. I mentioned all of this to the front desk at check ouy & the clerk acted like there was nothing wrong with all I listed. Used to be a nice hotel, so it's sad to see it so downhill. Definitely not worth the money

Our room was ok. The shower and sink didn’t want to drain so had to tell a staff person.
