My family and I visited Carlow for the Arts Festival. We stayed with the Avlon for two nights and had an excellent time. The hotel is very clean and tastefully decorated. the rooms were large and well maintained. The owner was very helpful and the breakfast was more than excellent. There is a terrace at the back with BBQ facilities and a game room. I would gladly recommend this B&B to any traveller.

This is a most delightful place to stay. The host is very hospitable. He was always prepared with suggestions to add to our day’s adventures. The Christmas decorations made it so warm and welcoming. The rooms are nicely furnished. It is very clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay again!

Check out the Avlon first if staying in Carlow.

A warm, quiet, and pleasantly decorated room, plenty of hot water on tap in the attached private shower room, and a terrific breakfast made my stay very pleasant. Your room key also opens the front door so you can get back in if arriving back late at night. A downstairs sitting room is available for guests to get together and the staff are friendly. Next time I'm in Carlow, I'm not even going to check elsewhere. I'm going to book a room at the Avlon.

You will not find a bettor b & b for 50 miles. Rooms are spacious and well fitted out with good wi fi. Just over half a mile from carlow centre so you can work up a hunger walking in for your evening meal. Breakfast will keep you from being hungry for the rest of the day.

Quite simply one of the best B&B's I've had the pleasure of staying at in Ireland.
Clean, modern & comfortable. The full Irish breakfast was out of this world.
Tom the owner is very helpful and was happy to advise about travel plans.

I attended a two day conference with the Football Association of Ireland (FAI) in Carlow. Having traveled extensively and stayed in may B&B's I have to say this (Avlon House) was by far the most impressive; friendly and priced accommodation I have visited in many years. I highly recommended it, I will be booking again for the conference in 2019.

Nice looking clean place. The host was helpful with directions and sights to see. But the beds were not comfortable.
The reason we were in Ireland was for wedding. In the morning we ate at the b&b, then about 20 min later, on our drive to Dublin, my husband had to pull over and vomit. I was also really nauseous. Overall I’d give it a 2.5 out of 5

I cannot recommend this place high enough. Tom (the owner) goes that extra mile to make you feel at home. Breakfast is awesome. Situated just over half a mile from Carlow centre, you can work up an appetite walking in for evening meal. I will book in every time I am in the area.

Fabulous breakfast!!

Best b&b have ever stayed in. Attention to detail was to a very good standard, even the small touches that you wouldn’t get anywhere like - spare toothbrush, shower caps etc that you wouldn’t normally fine.
Best part was the breakfast. Choice was really good and was extremely tasty! Would def recommend! 😀

It was one of the best B & Bs I have ever stayed in. I have only one issue with the host. Expedia advertised a twin room and I clicked on that image. However when I met the host he informed me that I had booked a double room and arrogantly told me that I had made a mistake. Furthermore he charged me 5 euros for my apparent error. I did not want to argue with him about this but I thought you should know that it was not a perfect experience for me.

Recently stayed here whilst visiting family for a wedding. This B&B was a great value for money, decently sized rooms with plenty of space, stunning social areas, and amazing breakfasts! One of the employee's / owners Tom made our visit extra special as he always ensured he helped as much as possible. Each day he would ask how we were, give recommendations and really went above and beyond for us, including a late check in! Cannot recommend this place enough and we will most definitely be returning!

Breakfast was very good with large servings and a varied selection.
Access to the property is good and is within walking distance of downtown Carlow.
Ample parking on the premises for our rental car.

A good modern B&B. Service good. Room way to hot and noise from the main road not for the light sleeper likewise the rooms are very close and late night returns wake you up. In our case at 1.30am Breakfast just average the continental lacked fresh produce that B&Bs in this price point have. Porridge counts as a cooked breakfast !!!

There is nothing overlooked for your convenience at the Avlon. It has been thoughtfully planned to make guests comfortable in a pristine establishment. Parking is secure and the home is well situated for a 14 minute walk to the centre of town and to connect to anywhere via car or public transport. It is on the main road but whilst front rooms could be noisy if the windows were open, it makes it easy to find. We had a back room and didn't hear a thing. The public rooms are spacious; all guest bedrooms are upstairs and ours was spacious, too. Breakfast was generous, plenty of choice and beautifully cooked. Tom is a gentleman and clearly has his heart in this business, he wants his guests to leave his home feeling they have been at home only better. Great stay! Definitely returning next year.

Fabulous stay. The house is gorgeous and absolutely spotlessly clean. The manager was the nicest guy you could wish to meet and nothing was too much trouble, in fact he went above and beyond. The breakfast was delicious and kept me going all day. The bedroom was so comfortable I think I had the best two nights sleep I have had in a long time and the little extra's such as bottled water, toiletries and many other things added that special something. Nothing but good things to say. I would absolutely recommend this place and am hoping to return again next spring. Excellent value for money. Well done.
