The property is clean. You can tell is a bit older. Food is good. But they advertise is a place to have fun and party and thats not the case. Nothing to do after 11pm I belive it's more of a relaxing and family resort.. overall for a budget friendly get away is not a bad choice.

Extremely disappointing experience. The room was dirty when we arrived and clearly had not been cleaned properly. To make matters worse, the resort lost power for an entire night, which made our stay very uncomfortable and frustrating.

The beach was also dirty and not well maintained, which took away from the beautiful location. The biggest disappointment was the food. Most meals were served cold, lacked flavor, and were far below what you would expect from an all-inclusive resort.

For the amount of money spent, this resort did not deliver the quality, cleanliness, or service that was promised. I would not stay here again and would not recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation in Cancun.

I had a terrible experience, I do not recommend this place at all… first of all, Expedia is doing a false advertisement! This place has no casino or not night clubs, they tell you you will pay additional amount when you arrive at the facility which is a lie because they charged me triple the amount. The customer service is awful. The room are bad and don’t even have electrical connection in the bathroom or anywhere in the room to blow my hair.. they shut off the water twice without letting us know. They offer a free ride party boat, which is not free. When you do the reservation they ended up charging you $13 per person.
The food is not good, they don’t serve Mimosas at breakfast until 930 a.m, the buffets are really, really poor and bad food , they don’t have night entertainment everything shut down at 10:30 PM, and to finish and the gift shop, I was trying to buy a few things, and they literally offended me calling me a thief because I went in with my bag… they don’t allow you to bring your purse or bag in because they think you’re gonna steal something and they pretend you to leave your bag out the door where she makes no sense and is such a ridiculous protocol.
Definitely I do not recommend this place at all. It is not a five star experience. It’s just that one star if…. You can say that.!!

Hotel grounds were well kept however the AC in the room could not keep the room cool at all. The entire time room was warm and muggy at best. Room didn't cool down until about 3am. Part of the reason was insulation around the balcony doors was missing. All the humid ocean breeze would go straight thru around the doors. Other than that, people were courteous, pools were clean. Several buffets and places to eat but food as ok at best. Not impressed, maybe because Im used to eating homemade Mexican food daily. Most of the buffet food didn't seem fresh. Beans were dry, and other food was not what I'd expect from a beach resort. Had to go up the road for some authentic street tacos. Those were Good! Nice property but I wouldn't stay there again.

While the resort is getting older, they are not keeping up with the maintenance. Booked a Jr Suit, the refrigerator, the bidet didn’t work. The rooms hot tub, drains faster than it filled. Pool bars closed at 5:00 pm. So many of the restaurants are closed since my last stay. This will be my last stay at the Pyramid.

Worst property I stayed at, the water from the shower was coming out yellow then they told me I had to wait a whole 6hrs before it changed I said I wouldn’t, they put us in another room the bathroom didn’t work or flush and the room was full of ants, the entire hotel was a lie none of what is advertised was even offered and most stuff had to be paid for even with an all inclusive. Worst experience of my life and I travel a lot.

Dear Expedia Customer Support,

I am writing to formally complain about my recent hotel stay booked through Expedia. Unfortunately, this experience was extremely disappointing, stressful, and far below acceptable hospitality and safety standards.

From the beginning of the stay, we encountered multiple serious issues that significantly affected our trip experience:

• The room conditions were unacceptable upon arrival, including visible female hair on the bed and signs of poor cleanliness.
• There were insects in the room, which created major hygiene concerns.
• The beds were extremely small and uncomfortable, and there were not enough blankets provided.
• The air conditioning and electricity stopped functioning during the final day of our stay, making the room extremely uncomfortable and unusable.
• Restaurant accommodations and overall guest service were very poor throughout the stay.

The most serious issue, however, was the repeated privacy violations by hotel staff. On multiple occasions, staff members entered our room without proper permission. In one instance, staff entered while we were inside the washroom/shower despite us clearly shouting “No.” This was extremely disturbing, invasive, and completely unacceptable from a guest safety and privacy standpoint.

Additionally, communication and support from hotel staff were inadequate, and no meaningful accommodations or resolutions were offered despite these ongoing issues.

This Resort is AMAZING, it has everything.
With an very nice customer service
Room is not fancy or updated as others but it has everything We need and it is comfortable and clean.
Swimming pool is super big and beautiful!!!!
It has many options to eat and with all inclusive We had the opportunity to try many different exclusive elegant and high class restaurants as Sakura, Careyes, Black Sense and, Benazusa. Breakfast Buffet is perfect with diversity of food options and the Cocoa Brunch restaurant was one of our favorites too for the every day fish/shrimp tacos and cocktails
Bar by the swimming pool was one of our favorite spot with spectacular ocean views
We loved Everything and hopefully will coming back soon…. Absolutely recommend for everyone

We strongly recommend that people avoid this resort. We’ve stayed at eight different resorts before, and this is by far the worst experience we’ve ever had.
The food was terrible—we felt sick every day and suspect food poisoning. Much of the food seemed improperly handled: items were kept lukewarm, deep-fried foods were overcooked in what looked like reused, dark oil, and the menu was very repetitive. Every restaurant offered the same salads and desserts, with artificial-tasting cream. Most dishes were dry and overcooked, and there were no quality seafood options like shrimp, crab, or fresh fish at the buffets.
The drinks were also disappointing—very diluted, with barely any alcohol.
The beach area was poorly maintained. Out of a large property, there were only about 15 chairs available, and most were broken. There was no staff service on the beach, so we had to walk back frequently to get drinks. Empty bottles and trash were left around until we asked staff to clean them up.
The bathrooms were in very poor condition—dirty, with broken locks, no toilet seat lids, and no soap available.
Our room also had maintenance issues, including a leak from the ceiling. We reported it, but the overall experience was extremely disappointing.

Swimming pool area was very clean but not very well organized. Toilets very pretty far and ATM was hidden and not easily accessible. Toilets are old , buildings main lobby is beautiful. Rooms are ok. We couldn't fix the AC by ourselves. Shower wasn't working so my husband had to fix it. Otherwise rooms were fine. They bring stuff to your fridge every day. Stuff is very friendly.
Some restaurants are amazing, some surprised us negatively. You can barely get an ice cream even though you pay for all inclusive. Alkohol selection is very low shelf even though we had black bracelets allowing us to get \" good Alcohol \". If we were lucky we got Balantaise, but a bar had 1 bottle for the whole day . All steaks are called fileminion but they are NOT.
At the beach a lot of seaweed!!! They don't clean it daily as they said they do.
No way to even get a nice picture there.
Not enough chairs at the beach either.
Changing towels was very weird. You have to signed the paper to get one and then you need to bring it back to the same place . Inconvenient.
People are smoking by the swimming pool which apparently isn't allowed but nobody is saying anything so they do , it smells horrible and they leave the cigarettes bats everywhere.
Shows and artists were great.
Lady who did aerobic speaks Spanish only like most of the stuff so it was hard to attend any sport activities. Make sure you have pesos money because at the hotel they will ripped you off.

The room was old and out date. The tub was to high to get in and out of the shower. The mini fridge wasn't working. As soon as i arrived the drinks were hot , i called the from desk they said they would go check it never did. I called them ever day to tell them it still dont work. The last day i was there , they went and fix it.. bad service the food wasn't good . You had to make reservation to each restaurant, you cant just walk in. I would not stay at that hotel..

The oceanfront building offered a pleasant stay overall, though the bathroom layout was somewhat compact. The door opened outward toward the toilet, which was positioned directly in front of the sink, making the space feel a bit tight. Additionally, the sliding door to the balcony was heavy and somewhat difficult to operate, and the balcony itself was smaller than expected.

That said, the resort grounds are expansive and well-maintained, with a wide variety of activities and entertainment available throughout the day. Guests can enjoy live performances, multiple pools, and several on-site restaurants. While there are exclusive events and areas designated for members, there are still plenty of engaging options available for non-members.

The dining experience was notably better than at other resorts I have visited. The beach was clean and accessible, with several convenient entry points. I recommend making dinner reservations at least a day in advance. The Asian fusion restaurant was a highlight, offering both quality food and live entertainment during the meal. For the best experience, I suggest requesting that dishes be served one or two items at a time so the food won't get cold.

The main lobby areas were beautifully designed and added to the overall ambiance of the resort. In summary, the resort provided an enjoyable and lively experience, making it a great place to stay.

The staff are sincerely amazing this is a very large resort that has hundreds of staff that seriously make me feel like family and are very helpful, polite and professional! The food is excellent especially if you choose the pyramid package which i absolutely recommend and even better is the Sian Kaan package this level gives you access to even more that this amazing resort has to offer it is truly an OASIS I even went as far to say yesterday its like heavem on earth for me anyways lol but seriously you can have it all great food great drinks beautiful gardens and real peacocks roaming around you like they are your personal pets the grounds are immaculately manicured the beach offers amazing swimming and sunrise 🌅 photo opportunities that are truly world class, you can party hard at the beach club and i mean PARTY or chill on a cabana bed in the queit zone go to the world class spa and the shows and evening entertainment is amazing so much diversity and action its hard to keep up but the oasis app is very helpful and can keep you up to date and on schedule if your wanting to maximize your experience! I have been coming to cancun for decades and stayed all over the yucatan and this is a gem a truly amazing place that i will absolutely be returning to in the future and highly recommend it to everyone coming to cancun!

That staff are what makes this resort OUTSTANDING! They are kind, polite and truly go above and beyond to make thier geusts happy.

Dont go during spring break haha 😆 we caught the begging at the end of our trip. Its choas with them but true paradise when they're not there lol

TONS of food options, coffe shops and ice cream shops. A few gift stores/shops. The pool is HUGE and spans across the middle of the whole property. There is also a little cigar lounge my hubby loved.

There is a 711 store practically across the street definitely in walking distance. The mall is a 10 min uber away La Isla. And cocobongo and senior frogs is roughly a 20 min ride acroos from there, there us a really big street market.

The grounds are beautiful and we enjoyed the iguanas and peacocks. Our rooom was clean, but we were not thrilled when they ran out of water for 2 hours. - Couldn’t shower before we went out for the night. Family pool area was mostly clean. Swim up bar pool was disgusting…we avoided it. I understand that it was spring break, but I didn’t see people cleaning outside as often as I would have liked when I saw cigarette butts, cups in the bushes, and tissues in the pool multiple times throughout the week.

The shows in the atrium were spectacular and added to the fun! The restraunts were beautiful and luxurious, food equally as excellent. The room was quite broken in some areas like the shower and faucets. Water was turned off 2 times for a duration of multiple hours during our stay. The hotel was VERY loud all through the night even with ear plugs, sleep music, closed doors and fan running. Many sleepless nights , and on travel days it was unbearable to get ZERO rest . I did much research into this property because my stay was during spring break and wanted family fun and safety. Thenotes i read online ensured me of this, but alas the resort section for \"family friendly\" had very aggresive young men shouting like dogs all through the day and night into the early morning, very , very drunk. My 12 year old daughter was very uncomfortable with this and because of this i will not stay again.

The food is not good at all—bland, poorly prepared, and definitely not worth it. The pool area is run down and not well maintained, making it far from enjoyable. To top it off, the drinks were just as bad. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Not enough lounge chairs in beach area. Sufficient near pools but paid $200 US for 5 people for one day in addition to hotel charges. Too much when other hotels offer same amenities at no additional charge. Seemed you had to pay additional rates for amenities at this hotel. Also, very loud 12-4AM with no staff trying to quiet people down.
Pyramid design also means when someone in a floor above tosses a bottle off balcony it will end up in lower floors balcony. Happened at least twice.

Evening shows at the Atrium were spectacular! One extra large swimming pool was very nice.
However, could not get a lounge chair by the pool due to so many people. TV mostly all in Spanish! Could not sleep the first night due to drunk people fighting outside my room. I called operator to send security but nothing happened. Finally went to sleep at 2am.
Air conditioner not working for the whole stay....too cold and it took 2 hours to finally get a blanket. Second night a maintenance took over half an hour to dismount unit but it still did not work properly.Operator stopped answering my call for a blanket once I called that I still had not received one.
Could not get most reservations for dinner because they were full. I only was able to make one reservation at the Japanese restaurant (Sakura)
I had to walk long distances for restaurants or events.
Staff not very friendly.

At first we were concerned due to reviews, but as someone who stayed at the Pyramid, we had a GREAT time! There was something for everyone! The property was large and it was great to walk around, lots of food options especially as a PYR guest, many bars that pour drinks well. No poolside service or frozen drinks and there’s a few (that I already knew about) that must be paid at the start of your visit. I loved the peacocks, koi fish, and iguanas around the resort. SO fun! The shows were also great and we wish we would’ve gone to more during our stay, especially the Silver Cabarnet show. At night, it gets busy with college students so we stayed at the nicer bars. Rooms aren’t huge, but were pretty clean! One elevator, so be ready to take the steps! Overall, we had a great time as a couple in their mid-20s and are happy with our choice of stay!

Why The Pyramid? After reviewing over 50 resorts on The Hotel Zone, I chose The Pyramid because of long Hotel front on beach, long winding pool throughout property, lots of specialty restaurants and buffets, and I wanted an exciting night life/shows/performances. I got all of this! If you are on spring break and partying, you probably don't need to pay extra for The Pyramid and will likely eat at buffets and outdoor burgers/pizza etc. If you want the slower, more formal dining experience, definitely pay extra for the Pyramid access to more restaurants. I personally cannot eat at buffets every meal.

Staff attitude and tipping: I was so scared from reading all the reviews that the staff would not be nice. But honestly, everyone was so nice and appreciative, and I never felt anyone waiting for a tip or asking for one. I personally felt compelled to leave a tip at the sit down restaurants because they were clearly working so hard and trying their best. My husband and I speak some Spanish, and speaking in Spanish greatly enhanced our experience. Try saying Buenos Dias, Buenos Tardes, etc. It goes a long way. But the pace here is much slower than the USA. In the US, it's \"Do more, do it faster.\" In Mexico, it's \"Do Less, do it slower \" No one is in a rush and you need to expect everything to take longer and go slower. I wish I brought extra tip money.

I had read many reviews before leaving and decided I’d go in with my own thoughts. This could have been a way better experience without the bazillion spring break kids who many behaved terribly.
Our room was nice but the door was broken (they said they fixed it but really it stayed broken if you didn’t slam it shut) mini bar…it is stocked (and we had the famous black bracelets) but it was not stocked daily as they said and requests weren’t handled. There were some foods that were great, the restaurants you have to book were nothing exceptional. Drinks were disappointing… very plain and making a million to serve all the spring breakers meant was tough to get a decent one. Next to no chairs at the beach… many chairs at the pool but again… too many spring breakers. While our trip was enjoyable it was not spectacular. I’m ok with the price I paid (booked way in advance) but would not have been happy if had to pay more. Le buffet and bites were the best restaurants, the food at the pool was also nice. They ask you to go to a “meeting” to book to go back - needles to say I didn’t do either!

The food was low quality, with very limited buffet options. It was impossible to reserve any of the restaurants before four days of stay. There were very long lines at the bars (up to 20 minutes just to get a drink) and long waits for the restaurants as well.

The most surprising part: all bars close at midnight!!! Yes, if you’re like Cinderella, this resort is perfect for you. If you’d like to enjoy drinks later during your vacation (as most people do), you may want to consider another option.

The staff was not very friendly.

Don’t get me wrong, Mexico is a beautiful country and always worth visiting, but this resort may not be the best choice.

This is a nice 3.5 star hotel, not 5 star! The resort was well kept but kind of boring. No poolside entertainment throught the day and the evening shows were uncomfortable due to having to sit on the floor or stairs. Most of the restaurants were inaccessible due to very long waits so we pretty much stuck to the buffets for the week. Pool chairs were slim pickins. If you werent snagging one at 7am, you didnt get one. I dont think it was worth what we paid.... beautiful property though.

The ocean was little visible, the room was clean at first, but if you get sand , no one will clean it. We had 2 rooms, ours was fine, other one they ignored to change the towels, remove dirty plate, we got ants, the ac was leaking the toilet was leaking.
To sleep at night is impossible , the music was till 3am. so if you travel with kids good luck.
No one cleaned the beach from the grass , like at all, we walked all the was to lagoon to the right , all beaches were clean. No security at the property at all no life guards, lots of drunk people smoking all over, trash is everywhere,
The overall property is covered with palms and flowers, pond with fish that part is beautiful.

The food is not that great, service is worse. Only places with excellent food and service were white box, miramar, and careyes . The most memorable experience is Black sense. be careful not all alcohol is included. And dont miss you reservation as they will charge you.

The coffee shop is nice and great coffee choices ,delicious pastries.

Great view of the ocean. The food was excellent. Many different restaurants to choose from. It wasn't just the buffet, although the buffet food was fabulous. The service was over the top. Waitstaff were very attentive and when we had an issue in the room, they were there immediately to fix.

I give 3 stars because I felt there was short staff in most of the places.
We need to wait in the line for drinks, snacks coffee.
Staff could be more friendly, barely the would be smiling and greeting you.
The bedding in the room had some minor spots.
The worst part for me was the little cockroaches in the room.

The reviews about this place are entirely misleading.

While the room was a bit dated we don't go on vacation to stay in a room. The events and shows offered through the resort were on a par with some of the newer and more renowned locations in the area.

The food was exactly what you expect with 3 buffet locations, and 3 different coffee locations. The local places within the resort needing reservations were top notch. The fillet at Careyes was one of the better ones I have ever had and the service was great.

All in all we loved the stay here, the beach was clean and staff were serving food and drinks on it, the pool was well kept and while getting chairs was difficult after 8 am that was more on us fir not getting up early.

The line ups for food were the same as they would be in any large resort. They moved fairly fast and had a decent selection for everyone.

The bars served local and house liquors, with options for upgrades for non well options. But the liquor is included in the cost and if you are going to party it really doesn't matter if it isn't grey goose or Pappy van Winkle

All in all the location and resort were an absolute will revisit again and as we stayed in THE PYRAMID in a standard room on the 2nd floor I know we left some additional amenities on the table and we will upgrade later on for them.

So while a slightly older resort than some and while the rooms may be a shade dated and it has a party vibe to it. it was solid and a quality 8/10.

Most things here were just average at best.
It’s a huge resort with a couple of large pool areas but hardly any loungers. All part for them to upsell cabanas and “beach clubs” we did this a couple of days but not with the extra charges for an all inclusive resort.
Biggest disappointment - everywhere is under staffed. Every bar is a long wait during the day, swim up bars and beach club bars were almost always 10-15mins. Very few servers to bring drinks or to serve at the bars, unless you’ve paid for the extras at the beach clubs.
Restaurant reservation weren’t the easiest to make happen but the food was generally good, but never fantastic.
Overall, I’ll stick to RIUs for a better all inclusive experience in the future.

What appears to be a vibrant, all-inclusive getaway at Pyramid at Grand Oasis quickly becomes one of the most disappointing resort experiences I’ve had. The promised quality service and variety of dining options are mostly a façade. Traveling with a group, we were told the resort was “extremely busy,” which became the excuse for every issue that followed. In five nights, we only ate together twice (both after 9 p.m.) and every restaurant brought new frustration.
Sakura served bland, unbalanced sushi, and Bahia Steak House was the worst of all: tough steaks, unappealing appetizers, and a kitchen unable to cook a simple medium-rare correctly. Tatish Buffet felt unsafe, with gray, lukewarm food sitting out for hours and long wait times. Hosts regularly made being seated feel like a problem, even bringing one person in our group to tears with their harsh tone. Only Le Buffet and The White Box offered consistently edible food.
Drinks were just as disappointing. Most bartenders seemed inexperienced, cocktails tasted cheap and watered-down, and quality varied wildly. The only reliable bar was Sian Khan. While the pools and beach look appealing, the rooms were outdated, uncomfortable, and had bug problems.
To make matters worse, nearly everything closed by 11 p.m., and many advertised amenities, like karaoke, were exaggerated or nonexistent. Overall, I cannot recommend this resort to anyone.

Call tax a tip, because that’s what it is. You never know how much anything really is as far as tours and stuff. Book them ahead of time to save money. Also, the check out process can be long. You have to wait in the same line as the check-in people. Bar tenders were awesome, food was just okay, and rooms are not the cleanest. Floors are kinda dusty and dirty and we did sets a clock roach in our room at night. Bed was okay.

Drinks and food sub par. A couple of restaurants tried to upcharge on drinks even though our concierge had informed us prior that was not to be the case. We spent the week in a bit of confusion as to what was available with our all-inclusive pkg. Very few umbrellas for pool lounging.

Food was mediocre, we were hit with addition fees upon checking in for what the call hotel resort fees of over $200, this is only in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo, taxis are outrageous expensive compared to Puerto Vallarta. adult pool area is right next to the party area and the music was unbelievably loud. If you happened to miss a reservation for dinner they will charge you, staff at restaurants and pool was the only saving grace as they were super nice and helpful, not so much the staff in the check in areas. Room was ok, some issues with water pressure a few times but we managed. We will NOT be going to Cancun area again as there is are hidden cost in everything

Room was out of date. Tall tub difficult to get into to shower. The second shower was the same but tiles missing all grout and shower didnt work well, pulled spiut tab and it would fall out. When scheduling booking couldnt add 2nd person but when emailed they gave me a quote i would pay at the hotel for adding. Once arroved thwy told me pricing had gone up and was more expensive and would not honor their pricing. The food was mediocre and drinks were all basic. They didnt have creams or liquored flavors that are more in style for flavouraed drinks. The margaritas and pina coladas were basic ad missing flavor. And only 1 option of beers. Struggled getting into getting food at restaurants and drinks. The outdoor food bars had food sitting out in sun for hours and most food spoiling witing for someone new to get sick. Not enough chairs in the beach onces they did have were mostly all in plain sun and missing umbrellas... but you could pay for them and they could offer some with umbrellas. Dont make same mistake as i did and spend a few more dollars and go to a better quality hotel.

We booked an ocean front room, when we arrived the front desk told us the resort was sold out, the room wasn't available. We would be put in a standard room. No upgrades were available for the whole week. They were quite rude about it and told me to deal directly with Expedia about a refund for the downgrade in room. I had a manger get involved, still unable to provide me with any type of upgrade for our room for the whole trip. We had the pearl bracelet that got us better food options, however the resort was booked and reservations for dinner each night was booked. After complaining about the service, I managed to get dinner reservations made for each night, I didn't choose, they gave me what they could. The a la carte breakfast looked nice, however upon arrival we were told it was a 45 min wait for a table. Each morning was the same. We showed up late for our reservation at the Italian restaurant. our mistake, we thought the reservation was for 9, it was for 7 They refused to seat us without our confirmation slip. The manager of the restaurant actually walked all the way to our building to get the confirmation paper from our concierge, walked it back to prove us wrong, then told us we could go to the buffet. The restaurant was not full, it closed at 10, he would seat us if we could prove our reservation was for 9 but would not seat us because it was at 7. The customer service was no bueno! 2/10. The beach was perfect, bali beds had excellent service 9/10 Food 5/10 Room 3/10

The amenities were excellent, and the rooms were cleaned daily. Sometimes we had to request new toiletries/water after the room was cleaned. This level (pyramid) gets you more access than some other rooms at the same resort, which was great! We had more dining options.

Cons:
Very hard to find a chair available on the beach or near the pools. You have to wake up at 6am and run to occupy what you can find available...and you need to be lucky.
There are no umbrellas on the beach, no umbrellas near pools.
Looong lines at the buffet locations at every hour and we were not able to make any dinner reservation at any restaurant, at our arrival everything was booked for weeks already...
...Finally, we woke up at 4am one day with water all over our room floor , coming from the hallway putside the room, noone know why, noone offer a refund nor a reimburse of our soaked wet stuff.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at The Pyramid by Oasis. When we arrived, we were informed that our original room was no longer available because the hotel had overbooked. Instead of honoring our reservation, they switched us to a different room without any real explanation or proper accommodation.

What made the situation worse was the attitude of the staff. They were rude, unhelpful, and showed no concern for the inconvenience they caused. There was no apology, no effort to make things right, and no customer service whatsoever. After traveling and expecting a smooth check-in, this was the last thing we needed.

Overbooking is a management issue, not the guest’s fault. The way it was handled was completely unprofessional. I would not recommend staying here if
