The hotel was perfect for a couple of nights. It was nicely decorated, in a nice area and the staff were very friendly. As a suggestion for improvement; tea and coffee making facilities in the room would be wonderful.
Also we unfortunately had a fire alarm in the middle of the night, obviously this wasn’t their fault but I felt it could have been better organised as we evacuated outside. There didn’t seem to be anyone in charge.
Would definitely return though.

Breakfast is usually my favorite part of European hotels...lots of options, and a great way to keep the energy level up until dinner.

Not a bad little place. Very quirky with its decor. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was pretty good (Would have liked a good sausage and non streaky bacon, but that is just me. The eggs were good. Bread and rolls were there, but no toaster. There was no chance of starting the day hungry. There were options to cover most tastes). The room could do with a little maintenance, but was on the whole pretty good. The bed was very comfy. I would certainly stay here again.

the Birgit is located in what was East Berlin, which means that the building and those around it haven't been bulldozed and rebuilt after the Wall fell. Also, there are nearby tram lines. It is in the Mitte area, north of the Spree River, so within tram, walk, or Uber reach of the river, the museum island. Across the street is a elementary school, and the noise of kids playing is a nice touch. As expected, the room is quite small, but there is a balcony, and there is working a/c unit in the room. No room safes but the staff was kind enough to store passports etc in their secure area.
The breakfast is sufficient, there is a nice garden area, as well as wicker chairs in front. The hotel is eclectic (and Rick Steves recommendation). We're glad we took his advice. Also, the small sitting area serves as a bar, if so inclined. Excellent Asian food 50 meters away. Hokey Pokey ice cream nearby, as is the oldest beer garden in Berlin. What's not to like?

A conveniently located hotel for my annual visit with relatives, I have used it for many years. While the rooms and breakfast area have not changed much and still have a nice flaire, during my the latest visit I noticed a bit of a harsh tone when guests were addressed. Perhaps it is a general trend, or my age?

I really want to like this place more.

I really want to like this place more. The garden and lobby are comfortable. However, the there are some things that were not so great. The biggest was that I had no water in the morning for a shower. This may have been due to my room being on the top floor and the hotel being fully-booked. The plumbing may have been struggling to get water up to the top floor when everyone in the hotel was taking a shower. Between 7:30-10 am the water would start as a trickle and drop to zero in a few minutes. I mean no water at all. When I mentioned this to the receptionist, she just shrugged. When I mentioned to the manager he said he would call the plumber. Nothing changed during my weeklong stay. I switched to showering in the evening and it was plenty of hot water then. So if you choose to stay here, consider getting a room on a lower floor.

Otherwise, it is a charming hotel. But if the water system cannot handle a full hotel, then perhaps the hotel should have fewer rooms.

A nice little, well run, friendly hotel which has had a major revamp in the last couple of years. The designer perhaps went OTT with a mini parked in the middle of a compact bar but whatever, they’ve given it a go and the rooms are a major upgrade. It’s a good place and very good value.

We loved the staff esp.Frau Schmidt ,Herr Berger and breakfast lady...darling woman...
The Wi-Fi is a big problem in the hotel.it barley worked every time we wanted to use it ,you had to go through all the check ins again until it worked or mostly didn’t.we stayed in numerous hotels in Europe and this one needs to do something about about Wi-Fi.My husband worked on a project and needed Wi-Fi daily .
We stayed in room 26 .

The hotel is convenient to the subway and a number of shops restaurants and bars. Staff are very helpful. Rooms cosy and warm with two single beds and an ensuite. The rooms were cleaned every day . The reception area doubles as the bar and is fairly small. There is 24 hour reception facilities.

Internet Issues

If you need to have an internet for your work their system is arcance and does not work. I was constantly logging onto one of their 6 differrent address. They treat internet access like its so complicated. You have to give them a written paper with your address and they give you back a written code which in my case did not work and I was there 3 days. They gave 3 codes in all that never worked and acess kept dropping. Frustrating experience.

The staff was very friendly and helpful with suggestions and accommodating our needs. The breakfast was great with a nice selection and the option to have other things made like scrambled eggs. The building was well taken care of and in good condition. The room was very basic, but clean and everything we needed. There was a bit of street noise through the window (trash trucks and sirens). The location was very convenient to transportation, sightseeing and great pedestrian areas. I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again.

Very nice hotel

Hotel Jurine was a very comfortable hotel. It met my basic needs, which were that the hotel be near public transit, and the room be a clean, comfortable, and safe place to sleep. The staff were excellent; they were very helpful and kindly ordered a taxi to the airport for me.

A weekend in Berlin

The hotel was easy to get to and was only a few minutes walk from Senefelderplatz metro station. The staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel was clean and tidy. My room was on the 7th floor but there is a lift for access.
Berlin is a great place for a short break with good shopping,many historical landmarks, a very good zoo which is in the centre of the city and plenty of things to do.

Hotel is located on a quiet street and easy enough to find, and close to the tramway system (U-bahn). Small reception but friendly and helpful staff with good English. Comfortable room with good facilities. Large restaurant (considering size of hotel) for breakfast and option to eat outside too.

Definitely recommend it!

The hotel was in Rick Steve's book, which I treat as the vacation/travel bible, and a cousin who lived in Berlin recommended it. The hotel was centrally located, in a safe neighborhood, and quite affordable -- eveything I was looking for. It was a 15 minute walk to Alexander Platz where we got on the hop on hop off bus. The hotel neighborhood was extremely quite, still can't get over how quiet it could be in the midst of such a large city. The hotel staff was extremely helpful. Helped in getting bus passes and in making train reservations for us. I can't think of staying anywhere else.

loved the neighbourhood

nice hotel, good room in a great location. We had considered staying in \"central\" mitte (near alexanderplatz/tv tower) but glad we chose Jurine. Great Italian and Asian restaurant a few doors away, and lots of other restaurants further up the sreet. Had breakfast once (16E) was good, but, preferred local coffee shops, for great people watching, atmosphere on other days. U-Bahn is just a few blocks away too and we enjoyed walk to the Berlin Wall memorial.

Ayrıca internet var diye yazmasına ragmen wifi yok maalesef. Odalar şirin ufak,kozy fakat konfor yok. Odalarda, terlik, kettle, sabun(çok cok ufak !), diş macunu bulunmuyor. Bazı odalarda koltuk bile yok.Banyo havluları çok eski.
Ancak otelin yeri gayet güzel, metro U2 ye yakın.

Hyggeligt hotel, centralt beliggende

Hyggeligt og centralt beliggende hotel i et dejligt område. Værelset var enkelt, rent og med sjove detaljer. Vi kunne ha brugt en vandkoger, men klarede os uden. Morgenbuffeten var god. Der var alt hvad man kunne ha lyst til, og damen der stod for det var vældig sød og imødekommende. Gårdhaven er hyggelig og et plus for hotellet.

Det er rigtig god værdi til pengene. Hyggeligt og rart hotel med god udeplads. Ligger helt perfekt i dejlig stille gade med lokale spisesteder. Helt tæt på de centrale områder i Mitte/Prenzlauer Berg. Birgit har dog ikke bagageopbevaring, hvis man kommer før indtjekning. Der findes kiosk i nærheden, hvor det kan købes og ellers på de større stationer.

Dejligt sted med god beliggenhed

Skønt lille sted med rigtig god beliggenhed i forhold til både Prenzlauerberg og Mitte samt offentlig transport.
Virkelig hjælpsom personale.
Dog oplevede vi en enkelt morgen, at morgenbuffeten var tom 1,5 time før man servering ophørte og der blev ikke fyldt op. Ellers er der ikke noget at bemærke.

Manglende service og forståelse

Vi blev ikke taget særlig godt imod, da vi kom for at stille vores kufferter inden check ind. Check ind tiden var kl 14, så vi vælger at komme klokken 15 for at være sikre på, at værelset var klar. Her skulle vi vente yderligere 20 minutter og fik ingen ting at vide om hotellet af receptionisten udover, hvilket værelse, der var vores.
Klokken 8 morgnen efter begynder housekeeping på vores etage, som larmede som var de i gang med at gennem renovere værelset ved siden af.

Dejligt hotel med perfekt beliggenhed. Venligt og imødekommende personale.
Ekstraopredningen var elendig, helt umulig at sove på og der blev ikke gjort rent på værelset i løbet at de 5 dage vi boede der. Men ellers var det et super hotel, hvor vi klart kommer til at bo igen, men kun to på hvert værelse 😊

Peaceful location, good bed, nice breakfast, all in all a quite enjoyable hotel for a reasonable price.

Only one complaint: the water pressure of the shower in my 5th floor room was a joke, almost non-existent. That really needs to be dealt with.
