Location was good for me (just outside the main area, walking distance, no noise), staff are generally friendly. I did not like requirement to leave keycard with Reception as they give the wrong card back occasionally - this is very dangerous! Also, there was only one abailable power outlet which is not good. The room was very basic - no 'frills'. It was cheaper than anything else decent that I could find at the time. I would stay again if it is still cheaper otherwise I would go to a better hotel.

The property is in great condition and the museums are walkable. Our room was very small which I expected but the small bathroom made it difficult to shut the door if you are sitting on the toilet. Would use this hotel again but not that room.

Lovely little hotel, perfectly positioned for both sightseeing and relaxing in Amsterdam.
The continental breakfast choice was really good and the staff were really welcoming, kind and helpful.
The only small negative was the bathroom. Tiny, short bath you couldn't really use (i love a bath), with a shower over and shower curtain that stuck to you. Could benefit from replacing with a large shower cubical for better comfort and experience.
That said, i would definitely return to this hotel the next time i visit Amsterdam again.

Small, neat rooms, with private bathrooms. Some have a shower only due to size. The breakfast room is lovely with a patio and garden accessible in good weather. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The Owl is in the heart of the museum district and few minutes walk to Vondel Park, well worth walking about. My second stay there and I’d stay again!

Super nice front desk! You leave your key with them when you head out, so no worries of losing it. They have an elevator so you don’t have to take the stairs. Centrally located near bus lines and walking distance to Vondel Park and the river cruises.

Room is clear and amended with all that is needed for a stay in Amsterdam, There is no kettler or refrigerator in the room. Also the coffee which is available for free in the kitchen is not allowed to drink in the room. But there is plenty of food and drink around the city so it is not the minus. The bathroom is perfectly clean and smells nice. Hotel is situated in the beautiful neighbourhood in an old cute building and the bus 397 (to the Airport) is very close.(3-4 min walking). The staff was very polite. Tle elevator works perfectly. Breakfast is very good and tasteful.

What a delightful little place! The staff was lovely, the breakfast was amazing – yes I now love cumin in my cheese! And the location to downtown Amsterdam was perfect. Amenities were everything they said. Rooms were nice simple and clean. And they even have the cutest little elevator I’ve ever seen. We will definitely be going back!

The biggest negative other than having no ac is that for aome reason, yiu have to guve yiur room ke to the front desk every time you leave. I hated having to wait several minutes while holding food for the clerk to checke people in . It's annoying, if it wasn't for that it would have been way better.

Was visiting Amsterdam for a business trip (1 day stay before heading to another citiy for a conf). The Owl Hotel was a great place to stay - centrally located and nice clean room, along with excelltent breakfast (there was outside seating in the patio which was a nice option on sunny mornings). The Front Desk Staff (Olga) was very helpful with places to eat, and transit to the Central Train Center. First rate staff with excellenent skills, friendly, and knowleagable.

The hotel is very nice and the staff are very friendly and provide excellent service. Always very friendly. The rooms, at least the one we stayed in, was not very huge but was big enough that it was very comfortable. No A/C but that was not an issue even in 1st week of august. Nice breeze through the window and the street is extremely quiet.
Location is perfect. A few minutes walk from all the designer shops, museums and central area, primarily the section with antique shops and art galleries. Also some extremely good restaurants right around the corner from the hotel.
All in all a great little hotel in a fantastic location. Oh and has a resident cat who usually takes one of the chairs in the lounge as his. Doesn’t mind people giving him a rub or two either.

This place was amazing! We loved the staff as they were always so kind and helpful for any of our needs including recommendations for the city, hotel service, etc. It was such a cute place in a really great area close to the museums and it wasn’t a far walk to the rest of the city. The rooms themselves were perfect and comfortable with a nice shower. Perfect for two young women exploring Amsterdam!

Lovely staff (Jessica and Samuel) , great location, very clean, rooms service/linens changed daily. Room had a portable fan which is good as the room had no built in fan/aircon (this might be normal in Europe I’m not sure)

Rooms were comfortable enough however no fridge and not soundproof so you can hear your neighbouring guests which can sometimes be a bother if you’re a light sleeper. Wasn’t really a problem for me.

They offer breakfast and also have a cute hotel cat :)

For me personally I need a fridge in the room, dining out is quite expensive in Amsterdam so a fridge is good for if you don’t want to dine out.

Another thing is they hold your room card every time you leave which is kinda weird but I guess they want to make sure there are no unknown guests or unwanted parties because of this they do have 24 hour reception.

If you don’t mind not having a fridge or a little noise then this is an awesome place to stay

I really liked this hotel. Some might call it dated, but I found it to be charming. My room was always clean and I was provided with fresh linens. The breakfast provided was accommodating to my dietary needs. The location was excellent for me. Perfect location for museum trips and close enough walk to the city center. This is also right near a beautiful park. The hotel also has an adorable cat who seems to live the dream in their lobby area. I would definitely return!

This was my third time at this property and have liked it. THIS time, however, I was informed that guests are not allowed to have guests in their room. You have to socialize in the lobby. This happened as I was headed to my room with a guest. Not posted anywhere in the lobby or on Expedia or informed at check-in. Said it was because of noise complaints in the past.
