Minutes from Long Island's famed Hamptons on the South Fork and historic Wine Country on the North Fork, The Preston House & Hotel is located in downtown Riverhead on Long Island. The 1905 historical home was once owned by Henry H.
Preston, the first salaried sheriff of Suffolk County. In keeping with the original floors, beams, fireplace, stonework, barn doors and hardware, The Preston House has been restored back to it's original glory.
The New American restaurant houses 88 seats and an additional 50 with outdoor porch and lawn seating with a menu featuring fresh and local ingredients. Offering modern king rooms and suites, The Preston Hotel showcases modern works of art alongside honed concrete floors and attention to detail.

Yogurt, really good croissants, coffee, pastries, cereal, very nice selection and also fresh fruit and juices. Bed was comfortable and i wish i stayed longer to check out the bar and restaurant. Thank you for an excellent stay. I love the suite! Living room is cozy, the shower is strong and good temperature, the king size bed was so easy to sink into, and the kitchenette offers everything you need to stock up on goods. Plenty of parking, and even offers EV charging. The location is right on the main road, so many restaurants, bars, and shops are in walkable distance.

Was not a fan of the concrete floor or the surprisingly limited outlets (1 each side of bed) and lack usb ports. Hallway required room key to access which is fine, however our room was right next to the access door and it was impossible to close it quietly. We heard it several times during the night. Parking lot is also pretty small.

We LOVE The Preston House! This was our second time staying there. This time we got a chance to eat at the restaurant. Our meals were fantastic. Thank you to EVERYONE who works there, including the front desk personnel, the waitresses, and the bartender. They all give exceptional service with a smile. The room itself, as ALWAYS, was spotless and inviting with lovely music playing. Clean, warm, modern, upscale and inviting. Truly a sanctuary with a stunning modern bathroom and bed linens making you feel like the epitome of luxury. We dined in the restaurant attached; also a wonderful experience. Aside from delicious food, the waitstaff and manager are so personable, making it a wonderful experience. In the morning, the breakfast in the lobby, was wonderful, simple but elegant. As I drank my coffee, I enjoyed my conversation with Antonio the manager, who feels like an old friend. An experience that should not be missed.

Christian greeted us upon arrival and was so attentive. Our room was incredible, the little touches like the still water and fresh ice were definitely appreciated. We also had the biggest shower either of had ever seen! We liked it so much, we decided to stay another night and Susan was incredible in taking care of our needs. I had the privilege of staying at The Preston House Hotel again this past weekend. From the moment of check in, the friendly/polite/engaging front desk, to the spotless room, warm, pleasant, CLEAN, modern, comfortable to the continental breakfast, (which was kept immaculate) and the front desk manager coming over to us to make certain everything was fine.....A wonderful experience. Can't wait to go back again..and I will.
