This has been my favorite property in Salvador Brazil for many years. Unfortunately. This place is turning to any other high end hotel. They have modernized it so it looks more like a resort. However, they have kept the animals, lagoon, and the nature hike. There are monkeys in the trees, coconut trees, etc. the best thing about this place is the continental breakfast! The best breakfast I’ve ever had!

I was very disappointed with their accommodation; I had a 6:00 pm international flight and I was denied a late checkout ( the hotel was not packed, it had open availability)
Be aware that they charge the staying by person; not by room. I made a reservation for 2 bedrooms, but somehow when I arrived for a check-in, they told me that I would have to pay extra because the reservation shows that it was made for 3 people NOT four. Even though I reserved 2 rooms ( for 2 people each) and didn’t meter, I had to pay extra for an additional person. I did of course, but I don’t think it was fair, and they should disclose it on their website; that the hotel charges by the number of people in the room. I won’t be back and will not recommend it to anyone.

The property was super clean, friendly and very accommodating staff, quiet, provided abundant and delicious breakfast (a huge spread of healthy food and decadent options), beautiful pool and grounds, excellent gym, play areas for kids, hang out areas for teens with table tennis and pool table, beautiful decor. It was like a Spa experience for the family. Pets are allowed!

Service is second to none. Excellent food.
There are a few improvements I'd suggest: better entertainment (pool activities very poor, no volleyball court, no live music qt the bar, cpuld be piano or voice and guitar). Check in and check out need more agility.

There is absolutely nothing you will find to complaint about this place! NOTHING!!!

This is an amazing place to stay. It is a place where Brazilians stay. The free breakfast is excellent. Coffee not so much, but it’s hard to find a good cup of coffee in Brazil. The staff speak english. The rooms have a view of the ocean. This hotel is very nice.

The overall stay at the hotel was comfortable staff was somewhat friendly. The only problem I have is with the excessive service charges for simple amenities. I was charged over $150 in service charges still don’t know what they were for. On top of that I tipped Graciously.

It is a large “resort like” hotel less than 15 minutes from the airport. The rooms were clean and spacious. The pool was good, gym was good and breakfast had many different types of regional food. We enjoyed our stay!

The staff assisted me since my Portuguese skills are very week. They encouraged me to take a double decker bus tour rather than Uber to the historical part of the city. Outstanding experience. I came alone but have made friends. I love the ac in my room!

Deville, used to be Avery good hotel but the standards have gone down. Breakfast had limited international food. It offered local Bahian food five days in a low! The showers do not drain. I change rooms three time!! Until I gave up!

Loved this hotel in paradise!

We attended a conference at this hotel and could not have been happier. The hotel has great conference rooms and a very convenient layout for the type of conference we attended. We stayed an extra 2 days and relaxed afterwards on the beautiful property. It was really splendid. Lush greenery, birds and a resident iguana added a natural habitat type of atmosphere. The staff was very nice and very attentive. The rooms were cleaned nicely. The breakfast buffet was out of this world. I do believe it is the best breakfast buffet I have ever had and I have traveled world wide. The fruit was ripe and plentiful. Anything you could want was there. We had the lunch and dinner buffet as well and we were never disappointed. My only personal concerns were limited to the bed being a bit too firm and there was no stopper for the sink and I wear contact lenses so was worried they might get flushed down the drain. The shower is awesome too. We took a day trip on the Bahia Big Bus which picked us up at the hotel. It is a full day but worth doing. Make sure you book in advance. The airport is closeby also very convenient. I would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful hotel with nice restaurants nearby

The hotel Deville is in an residential area not far from the center of Itapoan in the outskirts of the city of Salvador. It is a great place for relaxing and enjoying the location made famous by the fabled musician/poet Vinicius de Moraes with his song \"Tarde em Itapoan\". The hotel occupies a portion of a former golf course so is surrounded by much greenery and has a lagoon with fish and wildlife. The rooms are comfortable and have balconies. The free wifi is of very good quality. The free breakfast includes a wide assortment of warm and cold dishes, made to order tapioca (Brazilian pancake) and omelettes, and is first-rate. Walking distance from the hotel is the Vinicius restaurant (converted from his former house) where you can enjoy a delicious Muqueca (Bahian stew) and also the Bora Bora bar on the beach for lighter meals. A very short distance across from the entrance driveway (towards the lighthouse) is a poor-looking open air restaurant that has bands that play samba on Fri-Sat-Sun that was an extraordinary find. In Brazil it is recommended not to walk alone at night, but the area around the hotel seemed safe to me. Overall I recommend the hotel very much.

Great spot for luxury close to beach and airport

The hotel and the grounds are beautiful. I enjoyed the birds chirping in the morning. The front desk was exceptional and there was a really great guy I think his name was Duwega? The breakfast that was included was one of the best ever and the people were dressed in Bahian dress. The area is not on beach but close to a great one. A local restaurant had the best Mucquecca I have ever had. It's called Ki Mucquecca.

Good airport hotel

Great if you are transiting through Salvador and need to have a few meetings. The shower is good and strong like most Brazilian 4 star hotels however I had a problem with getting hot water at around 10am.

Food is good and the bar is a nice place to meet.

I was pleasently surprised by this hotel, although there are a few things it could do better. The hotel itself is on a huge set of grounds which are very nice and full of wildlife, you need to check out the iguanas that lie around the side of the lake.

Arrival was good and check in was quick and efficient and the deluxe room I had was very nice with a comfortable bed and working areas. The bathroom was very nice with a very nice rain effect shower, which for once I liked, normally I don't like them.

The public areas of the hotel are well maintained and smart, but where this hotel falls down a little is through the food and drink options. The main resturant is set beside a lovely lake which has loads of fish and birds around it. But the food itself was poor most times we ate there. The service was also patchy as most of the staff didn't speak good English.

The pool area is great and the lobby bar was nice to stay in.

One hint make sure you have a small plug adaptor for the room not one of the big European style adaptors as all the sockets were set back into the wall rather than flat. Had to charge things off the shaver socket in the bathroom.

All in all would go to this hotel again if in the area.

The hotel has ample grounds, with a landscaped lagoon and nice swimming pool. The rooms are large and comfortable. Daily cleaning of top quality. Buffet breakfast is excellent, good selection of fruits, Brazilian sweets, croissants, breads, warm dishes, etc. Restaurant serves good meals at a reasonable price. Highly recommended. The only inconvenience - the neighbourhood is said to be dangerous, incl. the nearby beach.

Acho apenas que deveriam colocar uma rede protetiva ao redor do lago para propiciar aos pais uma maior tranquilidade e principalmente segurança para para as crianças! Afinal, o lago é muito próximo da área de lazer deixando os pais muito tensos pelo perigo de alguma criança cair no mesmo! Criança precisa de segurança e são muito ágeis! Deveriam verificar uma forma de proteção ao redor do lago para a criançada! Do mais, o hotel deveria ter o cartão fidelidade! Do mais, o clima, a área é muito linda! A cara da Bahia!
