Room was excellent, spotless, facilities were very good. Balcony had amazing views. Breakfast was good. Dining staff very helpful. One receptionist was abrupt and after failing to return our documents was offhand. Shuttle to and from Sorrento was a huge bonus. Would return , recommended.

We had a lovely 1 week stay. The staff are very friendly, hotel clean and comforable.The outside eating area was one of our favourites - for breakfast and the occasional dinner. Dinner was ok, not high-end cuisine but was fine and convenient. Staff are all very friendly. The shuttle bus is a must because of the distance from Sorrento centre - we used it a lot as taxis are VERY expensive. The bar with outside seating is lovely with a view over the bay and mount Vesuvius - gorgeous. The sunbeds around the pool (we only used them once!) are packed in like sardines, so we opted to use sunloungers in the garden which were spaced out. The only downside was that the shower temperature kept fluctuating several times during a showering, sometimes too hot to stand under.

Rooms need updating and soundproofing. Shuttle bus to Sorrento is not often enough. You have to wait in line 15 minutes before it leaves from the hotel and from Sorrento it's a free for all. Staff friendly. Pool area small.

Great stay, staff very friendly & helpful. Loved the quiet of being able to be high up to get panoramic view of the sea from our pretty room, & the convenient complimentary shuttle bus that ran almost all day long ( except for short break) was a lifesaver & blessing for us to get to town. My husband has bad back, would never have been able to do that long walk back & forth.
Enjoyed the complimentary buffet breakfast
& restaurant for dinner.

We had an absolutely amazing time for our annual girls trip! Antonio, the driver, was the highlight of our trip! Every single member of the staff was thoughtful and kind. The food in the restaurant and the drinks at the bar were all amazing! We were able to book tours that picked us up from the hotel and dropped us off at the same location. All in all this was a wonderful trip at a great hotel.

View from our room was amazing. Very nice breakfast and pool was very enjoyable but my biggest complaint was the bathroom. Was old and partially updated but this was a 4.5 star hotel with towels that were worn out and many were thin and no longer white. towels looked dirty from being so old and personally didn’t want to use but no choice

We had a lovely stay at the Grand Hotel President. The views over Sorrento and the Bay of Naples are absolutely breathtaking—truly postcard-worthy. The staff were warm, welcoming, and always ready to help, which made the experience even more enjoyable.

The hotel itself is beautifully maintained and offers a peaceful atmosphere, perfect for unwinding. However, it’s worth noting that there aren’t any shops nearby, so popping out for essentials isn’t quite as convenient.

The free shuttle service to the town centre is a great perk, but it can be a bit of a scramble to get a seat, especially on the return journey during peak times. It would be wonderful if the hotel could consider adding more shuttle runs in the evenings or during busy seasons to ease the rush.

Overall, it’s a charming hotel with stunning views and lovely staff—just a few tweaks to the transport would make it even better.

This hotel as the most beautiful view!! The pool is lovely but can get very crowded on the weekends. The satff are very friendly and work hard to make your stay comfortable. There isnt much soundproofing to the walls so I do recommend earplugs if youre a light sleeper.

The hotel sits in such a spot, looking over Sorrento. The views are amazing and there’s a shuttle every hour to take you to the town.
Our room was with a sea/town view and was clean, spacious and everything we needed.

Beautiful views and perfect accommodations for a family of 5 (two rooms). We stayed in the suites next to the main hotel. We had our own private patio and semi/private pool. The service and friendliness of the staff was wonderful as well. The shuttle was super easy just wish it ran more frequently. It is perfectly timed and we were never waiting. Also the shuttle drop off is in a central location to the train and downtown.

This hotel had incredible food and extremely friendly and helpful staff ! You don’t have to touch your luggage at all, parking is on site. Many dinning options. Great breakfast buffet which is included in the stay. The views are out of this world !!! The dinner was so inexpensive !!! But amazing food I was not expecting it to be so good. Again I say the staff is GREAT extremely helpful and very knowledgeable on Sorrento and all of amalfi coast. The only negative thing is, the rooms are outdated. The bed is extremely hard and uncomfortable they put 2 full beds together to form a king and the bed covers are hard I think they could update this. Overall I enjoyed my stay.

Nice hotel but pricey and a few issues

Nice stay generally but a few issues people should be aware of:
The beds and pillows are quite hard, and they only provide sheets and a blanket. They do not provide duvets.
Both myself and my wife didn’t sleep very well.
The pool area gets a bit too crowded and then pool itself is largely in the shade by mid afternoon.
The shuttle can take upto 20min to drive down to sorrento.

However, it is beautifully furnished, in great condition and with a lovely terrace.

That said, overall I didn’t think the price was great value for money.

One of the best hotel stay experience we ever had.
The staff are very friendly, professional and caring.
Every detail of the hotel is carefully designed. The bar and drink menu with live music every night is such a relaxing ending to the day.
The snack bar food was good quality and staff are very polite and caring.
The shuttle prompt at every hour to centre of Sorrento and back to the hotel was very useful and makes the hotel even more attractive.
We definitely go back to Grand Hotel President again and will recommend it to our friends.

Top choice in Sorrento

Great hotel and we were given an upgrade to one of the villa style rooms.

The air-con wasn’t available until June we were told, which with large windows on a hot day, made it quite stuffy without opening the doors.

Overall, a great spot with some even better views over Sorrento.

Very disability friendly for access, (which unfortunatrly the rest of Sorrento was not so good for disabled access) the position was great, stunning views over the bay of Naples. We throughly enjoyed our 2 night stay. Easily accessible off the main road from Sorrento, we parked right outside the hotel with no issues. Reception staff were friendly with a super quick check-in and our bags were taken from our car directly to our room by the friendly guy at the door. Room was spacious and immaculate. We stayed in the city view and wished we had paid the extra for a sea view but we still had a lovely balcony for nights when you just want to unwind with a glass of wine. The free shuttle is amazing, running every hour and dropping you right on the centre of Sorrento. Pool is perfect, plenty of sun loungers and decent selection of food and drink on offer in the pool bar for lunch. Where the hotel really excels however is the staff. They are simply some of the friendliest we have encountered. Travelling with a 6 month old baby, she was entertained at every opportunity and we were made to feel completely welcome at all times. Special shout out to the ikea high chairs which are a rare find in Italy. All in all a wonderful hotel with great facilities and even better staff! We will be back!

This was a DREAM vacation and the Grand Hotel President was the PERFECT venue! From moment one it was fabulous! The President is a grand older hotel that must have been sooo luxurious in its heyday. It's well maintained and the ground are gorgeous! It over looks Sorrento and we had ringside seats to it all with our balcony. It's NOT down in the action so we utilized the provided shuttle to downtown. This might be an issue for those who like to party late but was perfect for us! The breakfast buffet was divine and as a travel industry professional, I can say the service was pretty top notch. 10/10 would stay here again in a second! BRAVA!

There should be onsite food available rather than having to go to town. Other than that we had a lovely time at your property.

We have a fabulous time in grand hotel President. All the staff are very helpful and friendly. The best part was the dining hall the food was delicious the head chef and waiter is Luigi help us with best food. Luigi even cook a special desert, a traditional crepes which is very good ! Piero Is one of the waiter also help us with the wine pairing with our dinner. The one thing that I like also is the breakfast is included .I would recommend this hotel to all of my friends and looking forward to come back very soon to stay with this hotel . Thank you !

Such a beautiful hotel, best views in Sorrento. Sit having your breakfast looking at Mount Vesuvius and the Amalfi coast. The pool are had ample sun loungers but hotel could do with getting cushions for them. Solarium on top floor with a small amount of beautiful cushioned sun loungers which were so comfortable. Staff were very friendly and professional. Louigi in the dining room was great as was the staff in the bar area.

Amazing place for our honeymoon for 3 nights

The Grand Hotel President Sorrento is wonderful. The staff is super friendly and helpful, especially Luigi the head of the dinner and breakfast service. The view is stunning. We had room 110, with a balcony view of the Gulf of Naples, Mount Vesuvius, and Sorrento. One night there was even a fireworks show in one of the ports and we could see from our balcony. I also got a one hour deep tissue massage for 80 euros on the second floor of the hotel. The pool was too cold for me in September but beautiful and nice to sit next to in the sun. The grounds are beautiful, with flowers and lounge chairs everywhere. The top floor has lounge chairs and stunning views. There was also live music on evenings at dinner. Felt like a cruise ship except was at a beautiful resort. The shuttle that runs every hour is free and takes you from the hotel 15 min down to Sorrento downtown. It is an older hotel, but our room was fully renovated with TV and Central air. I would def come here again and tell my friends about it.

The terrace bar staff on the evenings gave super service. The restaurant staff were professional and amicable even when rushed off their feet.

If you are looking for hotel in Sorrento with a view to the city and the sea you have got to the right place. Located above the city, with a stunning view, this hotel is just all you need.
Private parking!!! don't underestimate this.
We got a room as we booked, with a sea view. It was more a mini suite than a room and as it was located on the far right side of the hotel corner, it had an amazing huge balcony, with an outdoor jacuzzi and of course a breathtaking view.
If you like the view you'll have the same from the dining room, where great and rich breakfast is served.
The hotel is offering a frequent free shuttle down to the town center and back, but take the map from the reception and follow at least once the advice we got to walk down. On the map is \"short cut\" is marked. it is actually an amazing road down hill, through the agricultural terraces, where car are not allowed to drive. it is 20-30 min easy walk but a great experience.
The hotel offer spa services, that we didn't use, but we saw the spa and it looks good.

We really enjoyed this hotel! The setting above Sorrento is beautiful. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly and very accommodating. The breakfast was included and wonderful. We enjoyed Sorrento and the hotel so much that we ended up staying an extra night. The shuttle service is great and included in the hotel stay. We will be coming back for sure.

Sorrento happiness.

What makes a stay at this hotel the best, is the staff. The hotel property is wonderful, and the rooms are like a cruse ship suite....but the staff is the most welcoming and helpful group of people I've ever encountered in world travel.

The room and amenities were excellent. The location required a shuttle to Sorrento. As a result, we ate most dinners in the hotel. These meals were pricey but very good with excellent service. Sorrrento was a great location to tour the Amalfi coast.
