The property was lovely and very clean with all outdoor dining. Small birds flew in and out as we ate, yet I never saw a mess from them. The hotel cat was very friendly and visited our balcony most evenings to receive pets.

The breakfast buffet was ample and good. They were very accommodating for my gluten intolerant husband, purchasing several gluten- free types of bread and cookies for him without asking.

The website led me to believe they were more prepared for English speaking guests than we found them to be. Check-in and ordering meals were difficult because of the language barrier.

Really pretty spot, the view is breath taking, especially at sunset, and the large infinity pool is a bonus. It is spotless everywhere, looks like it was freshly renovated and painted. Nice cocktails and the food was really good. I heard another guest asking for nibbles during cocktail hour and I admit that I was thinking the same but there was nothing. Not the end of the world but it would be a great thing, especially since there is no internet in the rooms (only issue I had), which might make you want to be on the terrasse instead of your own pretty deck for happy hour. I will go back there for sure and recommend.

Outstanding Hotel and Service

From arriving and seeing the view from the restaurant it was obvious we had made a good choice. The rooms are all self contained buildings with a stunning walk through the grounds to get to them and ours was huge, complete with a patio with sea view. Christelle and her staff couldn’t have been more helpful especially when we were struggling to leave due to travel restrictions imposed because of Covid-19. She really went out of our way to help us. Then there was the food! Being a restaurant too you might expect the food to be good, but it was some of the best my wife and I have ever eaten! As soon as the coronavirus madness is over we will be taking the first opportunity to go back!

Le Rayon Vert was a perfect spot for our vacances du fin d’année (end of year vacation). We were there Dec 28- Jan 1. Pauline at desk was always helpful-showing us our room, getting us a taxi to return to airport, helping us understand our surroundings with our limited French. I don’t think she took a break—there every day and meeting our every need. This is a family owned place and you can feel it. It is quiet, peaceful, the food is great (we got breakfast included, which was a great move). The infinity pool is lovely and sunbathing beside the pool provided us with every direction of sun overlooking the ocean.

A few things to note:
1) don’t even bother taking a laptop to work. WiFi is only in pool/restaurant common areas and not the best signal. And within a day or two, I clearly recognized this is NOT the place to go to catch up. It’s a place to wind down.
2) The local beach is Plage Leroux and it is beautiful. Getting there is a 10 minute walk through a poor island small town. If you are intimidated in such areas, a car would be a good way to go but parking at the beach is limited.
3) Food at the hotel is terrific but they don’t serve lunch Monday or Tuesday and choices to eat within walking distance are either not good or also not open those days.
4) BEST advice—rent a car. We paid 80-90€ each way to/from airport and walked (5km) to the nearest big town of Deshaies which was a lovely walk but dangerous in some spots where road was windy and dark.

Our stay at Le Rayon Vert was very relaxing. A very picturesque setting with lovely views over the bay. We really enjoyed drinks by the pool while watching the Green-Throated Carib birds buzzing back and forth.
Food was high quality and very tasty.
The room was very spacious and comfortable. The hotel gardens provided beautiful surroundings.

We were so pleased with our stay at Le Rayon Vert. The staff was courteous and helpful even with the language barrier. The grounds were lush and well maintained. The only thing that stopped me from giving it a perfect score was the breakfast service. Breakfast is served from 7-10am but the dishes are never replenished. If the sausage runs out by 8am (which it did) the people trying to eat at 9am got no sausage.

- A parrot welcoming you with 'bonjour' on the lobby.

Two big cons :
1. The Internet was only available in the lobby. Not sure what century they are living in because people need to have WiFi available in areas other than just the lobby. It's highly inconvenient.
2. Restaurant is not vegetarian friendly and when asked if they could make us may pasta, they wouldn't even do that.

We found the hotel easy going and comfortable, with a lovely coastal view and compact but pretty sloping gardens. The breakfast had a good selection of cheeses and nice bread but was average overall. More fresh fruit and a hot dish other other than scrambled eggs and sausages would have improved it. The dinner menu was a bit limited and the meat was over-cooked. The cats were big, attractive and impressively determined to get some tidbits. The hotel is well-placed for the lovely Botanical Gardens and beaches around Saint Rose.

The grounds of the hotel are amazing and beautiful. The infinity pool is top notch with a breathtaking view of the rainforest and the ocean. The staff went out of their way to treat us well and the room was very clean/simple. The restaurant has amazing dishes as well and the breakfast buffet (included with your stay) was delicious. The rooms though, were on the simple side and didn't offer many amenities (no conditioner, coffee maker, etc). However, I would stay here again without hesitation. It is a beautiful resort in a very beautiful part of the island.

Nice hotel with great pool and amazing food

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights in a standard room. We had dinner here twice it was so good. We also ate at Mahina which was nice. The hotel is about 8-10 mins drive to Grand Anse and Plage de Perle. Rental car is a must and the google maps location for this hotel and other landmarks in Guadeloupe are not exact.

We arrived after a long day of travel and were greeted warmly right away. They had an english-speaking staff member who was very helpful and showed us to our bungalow. We had a private veranda with a beautiful view (once the sun came up the next day), a nice room with a mini fridge and a safe and an air conditioner. The room was cleaned daily. The included breakfast was wonderful and a great touch--eggs, bacon, sausage, cured meats and cheese, fruit, yogurt, pastries, bread for toast, cereal and of course coffee. The waitstaff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. One night we decided to eat dinner at the hotel. There was a prix fixe menu available but my boyfriend and I are pescatarian and the main course was pork. No problem! Dinner was fabulous (and it was a huge amount of food), with a giant portion of fish steak (maybe swordfish?) instead of the pork. Overall the food was great, if a little pricey (not too bad, really). The drinks from the bar were also great--the house cocktail, the Rayon Vert, is green and delicious and HUGE. The pool was clean, beautiful and was a great place to hang out when we weren't sure what the weather was going to do. Massages are available in your room or in the little gazebo next to the pool. Overall, we had a really great experience. At about 10 minutes drive from Deshaies, a car is a must.

Wonderful Place to Be

We truly enjoyed our stay for 10 days. The staff was exceptional in helping us with activities, beaches to visit and restaurant recommendations. Every place we went for dinner was delicious and beautiful. The pool area was great..loved the infinity pool. Drinks at the bar were awesome. Our room was super comfy and the bed was too...wonderful slumbers. Our view from our room on the porch was perfect. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend!

We enjoyed a 10 night stay at Le Rayon Vert and were pleased with our choice due to location and the general comfort.
Staff were friendly and helpful and our room was cleaned meticulously on a daily basis.
A car is definitely needed as the hotel is located 5km from Deshaies.
It is advisable to reserve a table in restaurants in Deshaies as they are mostly quite small with few tables.
At the weekends, the local people use the hotel pool and restaurant and it gets extremely busy.

Excellent family run hotel

The hotel was in a beautiful setting and the staff could not have been more helpful. As it is the low season we had the pool and hotel to ourselves some days. At the weekends it does get busy as the locals come to use the pool and have dinner. Hiring a car is essential, we thought we could hire bikes but the hills are just too steep. The food was lovely. The only down was the mosquitos and sand flies. Take spray! We hardly ventured onto balcony because of them. Road noise did not bother us but we were in 91 well away from road. Overall a peaceful, well catered, hotel with superb staff. Deshais was the nearest place for food. It was disappointing that ALL menus were the same apart from the pizza place. Grilled fish and columbo chicken although lovely, after 2 weeks I had gone off looking forward to dinner. We walked the volcano in the dark to try and see the sunrise. It was very exciting walking in pitch black with the frog chorus at full volume however when we got to the top it was like walking in scotland, high winds and rain. A waterproof would have been better than a t shirt! Awesome experience though. Diving was excellent, the corals and fish lovely and in very good condition. Snorkeling is also on your door step and we saw most of what you see diving including turtles. Walks through the rain forest are a plenty with amazing waterfalls to find and pools to swim in. Overall really beautiful side of the island.

Boutique Style Hotel with Incredible Views

We stayed at Le Rayon Vert for four nights. We had 2 basic rooms, both with king size beds. Rooms are immaculate, and spare. Each had a patio with chairs facing the sea with Bougainvilla at the patios edge. Rooms are quiet, you do not hear other guests. You need to run the AC at night as the doors are glass and do not have screens. The property is lovely, perched on a cliff with lovely views of the sea. Paths are steep and winding with flowering trees and shrubs with many hummingbirds flitting around. The infinity pool is beautiful as is the surrounding patio and restaurant. It is quiet, no racing for chairs even though the hotel was full. Staff is friendly and relaxed. The owners and main staff speak English very well and are exceedingly helpful without being solicitous. The bar and wait staff speak some English and were very patient with my limited French. Food at the hotel is very good. Breakfast buffet is included and had the most delicious croissants and scrambled eggs. I would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful boutique hotel with beautiful views.

The hotel sits on a hill overlooking the ocean. The rooms are modest, but clean with beautiful views. The bed is very comfortable and the shower is fantastic. The staff is very pleasant and the food is great. We stayed for a week and loved it. It is just south of Deshaies and convenient to beautiful beaches, hiking, water excursions, zoo and botanical gardens.

Terrific Hotel

My family stayed at Le Rayon Vert during Christmas vacation. It was just perfect for us. Very easy to drive to La Grande Anse, which is just a large, gorgeous beach having palm trees and small restaurants in the background. The hotel itself is beautiful. Rooms are constructed along a hillside, giving beautiful and private views to each room. The main public space of the hotel is also very nice -- a large swimming pool with an infinity edge over which you look out to the sea, a very nice restaurant for breakfast (included) and for dinner, and an adjoining bar area. The restaurant and bar areas are covered but most of the areas open to the outside air and view, which is really pleasant. Staff are friendly and helpful, including with guests whose French language ability is limited. All in all this hotel was an ideal blend of comfort, simplicity and beauty.

Wow enjoyed the Hotel

Car rental - If you are renting a car, you need to know how to drive a stick shift and drive it well on roads that are steep. Also the rental car agencies open at 8AM. If you have a flight at 8:20AM (like ours) you have to leave the car and the keys in the car and walk about 1/2 mile to the airport. Very few people speak English. They have traffic jams. We had a flight at 8:20, we left the hotel at 5:30AM for a 45 min drive to the airport and reached the airport at 7:30.
For the Hotel, you can take N2 to Deshaies (northern route) and the hotel is about 3 miles after you cross Deshaies. It is on the left and they have a board and a white iron gate. The hotel with 22 cabins is on a mountain with the view of the ocean. The restaurant, pool, bar and check-in are all at one place. The place is 20 years old but well furnished. The rooms very clean and have modern look. In addition to the king bed, we had a chair that turns into a single bed. The center attraction is the infinity pool, sunsets from the pool are awesome. You have to book Sunday brunch in advance. The food is great and the portions are large. They also have a massage for $50/HR in a hut next to the pool. Drinks are anywhere from 3 to 10 bucks. Food from 6 to 20. Four of us spent the entire Sunday at the pool drinking and eating and our bill was about $200. They have free b'fast with coffee, juice, eggs, sausage and a spread of meats, cheese etc. Enjoyed the vacation and plan to go back to this hotel.

This place is amazing. The infinity pool facing the sunset is ideal for any romantic out there. The restaurant's food service is excellent. The breakfasts are outstanding. Par contre la direction de l’hôtel est beaucoup moins attentive …
Lors de la réservation je me suis trompé de date et nous sommes arrivés avec un jour de décalage donc une nuit payée pour rien
Je m’en suis rendu compte la veille seulement.Lors de mon appel téléphonique on m’a expliqué ! Qu’on ne pouvait rien faire étant donné que c’était une réservation par Hôtel.com.
Après quelques palabres j’ai envisagé une certaine compensation possible : j’avais tort
Durant nos trois nuits passées nous avons systématiquement dîner au restaurant de l’hôtel donc j’espérais un geste
La direction n’est jamais venue nous voir le sujet semblait tabou
Au départ la réceptionniste nous a dit n’avoir aucune instruction
Compte tenu du nombre de cocktails consommés il était facile de faire un petit geste.
Ce manque de réactivité commerciale est pour le moins désagréable.
Habitant maintenant 6 mois par an à Saint Martin et apprécient la Guadeloupe nous aurions pu revenir au Rayon Vert d’autant plus qu’il est très près de notre plage préférée : Petite Anse .
Mais nous ne le ferons pas

Séjour de 3 nuits dans cet hôtel à l'emplacement de rêve. Chambre spacieuse avec belle terrasse vue sur mer. Petit déjeuner continental classique mais rien à y redire. Personnel très aimable et aux soins pour les clients.
Mise à disposition de serviettes pour la piscine.
Enfin situation très bien à quelques kilomètres de Dehaies (5 à 7 min en voiture) et 2 min du centre de Ferri

Séjour de 3 nuitées. L’hôtel se situe à flanc de colline ce qui permet une vue dégagée vers la mer des Caraïbes. Un jolie jardin très bien entretenue et une belle piscine pour couronner le tout. Malheureusement pour les clients de l’hôtel, les commodités de là piscines sont aussi accessibles aux extérieurs les WE - trop de monde pour les transats et la piscine avec un public moins respectueux et donc perturbant! Heureusement ce n’est que les WE!

L'emplacement au calme sur la côte caraibe de Basse Terre. La magnifique piscine avec vue sur la mer Caraibe, la chambre spacieuse et bien équipée, la terrasse avec vue sur la mer.
Dommage que la qualité du petit déjeuner ne soit pas au niveau : 1 seul jus de fruit en bag, confitures en blister plastique, manque de service au petit dej pour débarrasser les tables et approvisionner le buffet

Le spot est absolument sublime, vue incroyable, jardin paysagé autour des bungalows magnifique, staff amical.
Points à revoir : petit déjeuner plutôt «improvisé » et pas toujours achalandé avec personne pour surveiller ce qui manque et pour débarrasser (les oiseaux chient sur les dossiers de table car ils chipent dans les tables non débarrassées). Aussi, tables souvent collantes c’est très très désagréable.
Une première pour moi, du jamais vu : Pas de savonnette dans la salle de bain, sérieusement ?
Les transats de la piscine sont trop années 80.
La bourgade à proximité (Deshaies) est très sympa pour les restos le soir. Basse-Terre mérite 4 nuits et cet établissement a de très beaux atouts. Les propriétaires devraient se donner plus de mal.

Un accueil tres chaleureux ,une grande disponibilite du personnel ,sans compter la generosite de l equipe de direction tres a l ecoute .
La situation du lieu est ideale pour profiter des belles plages et plongees aux alentours
Enfin,le coucher de soleil depuis la piscine a debordement est tout simplement envoutant ..

L'hôtel est idéalement situé. Les hébergements sont en bungalows au mileu d'une végétation extraordinaire et avec vue sur la mer. Très propre, très bien entretenu, les espaces petit-déjeuner, déjeuner-dîner sont chaleureux et offrent une vue imprenable sur la mer. La piscine à débordement avec vue sur la mer permet de passer d'inoubliables moments, notamment pour profiter de couchers de soleil à couper le souffle. Le personnel est attentif et sympathique. En bémol, un parking surchargé où il est difficile de trouver une place et l'obligation parfois de se garer dehors (on suggère alors fortement de ne pas hésiter si vous louez une voiture à vérifier que votre assurance couvre bien tous les dégats et que vous ne devrez pas vous acquitter de la franchise classique de 750 euros en cas d'accrochage). En tous cas, excellent séjour dans un établissement où nous aiemrions revenir :)

Très bien entretenu

Chambre très propre et confortable, calme, avec superbe vue.
La piscine a débordement sur la mer est magnifique.
le moins : la restauration qui nous a moins convaincu et le fait que les clients du restaurant est accès à la piscine. le premier jour nous nous sommes retrouvés sans transat.
