I have given the Gran Hotel Reymar 5 stars for rooms, service and location and if I could have given 6 stars I would have. The staff were excellent (happy, attentive and very helpful), the rooms were clean, tidy and well maintained as were all of the public areas. Sitting atop a rocky outcrop you get stunning views of the castle and old town as the sun goes down. Perfect!
Oh, and the secure private underground car parking is a very welcomed addition.

The place is beautiful! The food is great. The beach is gorgeous, clear water great for snorkeling. Be aware that the sand on the beach is rough, I advise water shoes, also bring your own beach towels and maybe portable beach chairs, you need to rent chairs at the beach for 8 euro each.

This was an excellent choice of hotel. The room was nice, beds comfortable, air conditioning worked well. We enjoyed our balcony overlooking the Mediterranean. We were a quick walk to all of the shops, dining, and historic sites, yet in a quiet high end area. We would absolutely stay here again.

Beautiful place. On the far end of town, but only about 1/2 mile from the main part of town. Clean country club feel and excellent breakfast buffett. Shuttle to the bus station was great too. Several nearby scuba shops were convenient. Amazing views. Good AC in room.

Gran Hotel Reymar is located on a hill overlooking Tossa de Mar and has cove/beach directly in front. It felt like an authentic, local place and not a tourist hotel. Our windows had a perfect view of sunrise over the rugged coastline.

They do not like to answer any questions. We finally had to ask the bartender. Drinks were reasonable and views are amazing. Need to upgrade the rooms and customer service. Room was very noisy and not sound proof, could here the chairs moving about all the time.

For USD 130, it was worth the stay based on location of the stunning views. Breakfast was included in the cost. The beach was across the street. Various restaurants within walking distance. The hotel itself was ok. The staff was not very friendly...they act like they put up with the swarm to tourists. Although the room was super clean, the bed was European, hard as a rock. Room was minimalist -- cold feeling. Breakfast variety and quality was ok. The breakfast room overlooked the sea which soothing each morning. Overall, there was no wow-factor with the hotel itself. The only thing going for it is location and the view. Would not pay no more than USD 130/night.

This hotel rocks! The staff are incredibly helpful, friendly and professional. I unfortunately managed to get a parking ticket which I could not figure out how to pay. It turned out it needed to be paid at a parking machine and one of the staff was so helpful, he even walked me to the nearest ticket machine down the road from the hotel, most hotel staff may give you directions but he insisted on taking me there to make sure there was someone there who could translate the instructions (staff member called Angel). This was just one example of great service all round but on top of that, the location...just wow. The whole town, the beaches and the views are just perfect. We will be back.

Historic building and area. Could have provided better info about parking. We paid nearly $60 to park overnight and had to walk several blocks to park. I’m not sure I would have done it differently, but it would have been nice to know ahead of time. The parking attendant said we could have paid much less is we had paid ahead online. They also said there are agreements with hotels for certain lots and that would have substantially cut the price too. Would have been nice to know this ahead of time

I love this stay so much. The staff was so nice and helpful. The gave us a ride to the bus station which was really nice. We were here during the low season so it was quiet, peaceful and absolutely beautiful! The room with the ocean view was worth the little bit extra. They also have a wonderful breakfast that’s included. This is everything I could ever ask for. If I could request one thing, it would be a microwave. But really, it was no big deal. I will always remember this place. Easy 10 out of 10

Our view of the beach was spectacular. We got so many Sunrise photos and at night the submerged lights from scuba divers was interesting. We enjoyed kayaking from the beach and swimming in the Mediterranean.
The very well preserved castle in town was beautiful as a backdrop for dinner or breakfast in the hotel restaurant, and was accessible with a short walk. We will return.

A waste of time and money, review may be anomalous compared to current reviews, but those set our expectations. Poorly run and low quality breakfast. Somewhat inconsistent friendliness of foh staff, some were wonderful and helpful, some were cold/ rude, feels a bit like a holiday farm, busy and boring, maybe we're not the target customers, or maybe we've been spoiled by previous holiday experiences.

Tossa de Mar was a fantastic place. We really enjoyed the village with the castle. Very relaxing - if that is what you are looking for.

Hotel Reymar we judged was one of the nicer hotels in the village - the pool was great, and access to the \"smaller\" beach was just a few steps away. We even got up early to watch the sunrise on the rocks by the beach.

We would definitely book this again!

the hotel is a distinct gem given its quieter setting at the most northern & quieter beach with diving schools, kayaking & paddle boards. Front desk staff and other service staff were consistently courteous & responsive. But big shoutout to Aaron - a fine ambassador for the town - who shuttled us from/to the bus station. our room was fine but more bathroom amenities would be a plus. And while we enjoyed our breakfasts, as good as dinner was be better to warm the room more by dimming the lights. an enjoyable stay for sure.

Had an excellent stay at the Reymar. The hotel is fabulous, with excellent service and high standards. We could not fault it.

Fantastic choice for breakfast and food to an excellent standard.

Rooms extremely comfortable, clean and well serviced. We had a sea view and it was simply stunning.

I took advantage of the spa facilities which were also top notch.

Would highly recommend and will most definitely be returning.

Disappointed - but spotless and efficient

Hotel is in a nice location, room was spotless, bed comfortable and staff efficient. However, all very cookie cutter - nothing that wows or makes you feel special.
No drinking water provided, a kettle is provided but only instant coffee sachets and not even a soap bar to wash your hands (there is shower gel in fixed dispensers).

Breakfast is adequate, but again nothing extraordinary. Only issue is there was only one coffee machine, so had to line up to get a coffee (at least it wasn't instant!).

Biggest issue was that having looked forward to a sea view, our room was directly above the pool and jacuzzi, so half the view was actually middle aged sunbathers. To make matters worse, an acoustic anomally of the hotel' is that even when jacuzzi occupants talk to each other at normal levels, their entire conversation is amplified directly into the balcony and room. This forced us to close the balcony door so we didn't really enjoy the balcony.

I regretted spending the extra and should have gone for a non sea view room.

As we were only staying 24 hours, I didn't want to disrupt the management, but strongly advise that if getting a sea view, make sure you get a higher floor for the view and that the room is not above the corner where the jacuzzi is located.

The room overall was ok - however the blankets were filthy. I was shocked that a hotel in a resort town, on the beach had No complimentary bottle of water in the room - I was told to buy a bottle at the bar. Bathroom was in a bad condition with all rusty water stoppers. There were no tissues in the bathroom, no body lotion and literally 2 slivers of soap to last for 3 days. No beach or pool towels available - at the reception they would only sell a towel for 10 euro.

Great location near a fantastic beach, castle, shopping, dining, etc. Really enjoyed the seaview room with no traffic noise, just the gentle sound of surf. Helpful staff accomodated a number of special requests. In our month long stay in the Costa Brava, this hotel and another in Cadaques were our two favourites.

Rented a three bedroom villa. Clean and updated. One of the bedrooms had no window so it was really a closet. Access to the villa was unusual. To get to it you had to walk to the back of the hotel building and down a dirty street where staff would be congregating and where the linen cleaning services were. And if you wanted a towel at the pool you had to purchase one! Bar staff at the pool not very friendly. I would not stay here again. Great town.
