Loved the beach,beautiful property. The hotel was excellent, great room and food. Golf cart buggies would pick you up and take you next door to the other riu resort. We srayed in tge over water bungalow with orivate pool. The views were amazing, walk right off of the balcony and into the ocean room was a great size. Resort is very quite and relaxing.

It was great all around. Marchee was fabulous. Her smile was incredible.

The only suggestion I would make is about the shuttle service. They were fantastic but when they made the stop at the pickup point at the palace , he was stopping 10 feet behind the pickup point. Then all the rude people were jumping on before the actual people who were first in line. If he stops at the front of the sign , then the people who were there first would have an easier time to get on before the rude people who don't care about the line system.

Not the hotels fault , just a suggestion to deal with the inconsiderate people there on vacation.

Vacation was a perfect 10/10.

All the people working there should be commended for their wonderful attitude and how hard they work to please the guests.

We stayed in one of the over the water suites with a swim up pool and the views were amazing.
We were able to see small reef black tip sharks as well as a sting ray off the pier near the hotel lobby during low tide in the morning. Waters were crystal clear and warm. Staff was amazing and always around to make sure you had an enjoyable time.

One draw back is that we asked for late check out since our flights home were very late but didn’t get informed until the day before that this was not going to happen so we had to spend 6 hours just waiting for our boat ride and plane ride to the airport with no where really to go relax. Also a little concerning when they had us leave our bags outside our room and just walk to the lobby to check out. I was concerned and called the office but they assured me there were cameras and they would be fine but still concerning.

Overall a wonderful experience and we will definitely be going back !

Other than that service was great, everyone always smiling and helpful. Wifi did go out 2-3x but they fixed it asap. Beautiful location, got great pictures and able to relax/unwind. Met some great new friends.

-Store employees follow black customers around despite others being in the store
-poor and inconsistent drink qualities
-limited food alternatives
-5 star price without 5 star experience .

Overall :
Maldives views are beautiful , worth a one time trip , would not go again, definitely would not recommend this resort.
Although I’ve been to many RIUs around the world , this experience made me decid to never stay at a riu again in any location or give them another cent of my money. Absurd amount of money spent to be treated so poorly.
I’m sure we had a unique experience as we did not look like the other clientele, so I’m sure most guests enjoy their experience .

Staff willingness to help with any request was fabulous. House cleaning was perfect and requests were completed efficiently.
Food was fabulous in Krystal restaurant (as was the service by Kreshmita) and very good elsewhere. For a small island, its amazing what they have achieved. Our only concern was in the buffet restaurant one evening when it was very busy and the food couldnt be replenished quick enough, so choice was limited.
Bar service and choice of premium alcohol was very good, and I only recall re-asking for our drinks once, but they soon arrived. Sanju and Desy always kept us topped up and provided great service.
The island is kept pristine looking by a team of hard workers trimming shrubs amd maintaing the beach. The wildlife was great to see, which we hadnt been expecting.
We came for some rest and relaxation, and the Palace provided that in abundance. If you want to do more activities, then the sister Atol island is well stocked with livelier entertainment and good water sports.
We snorkeled all the reef and had a wonderful adventure. From baby shark within 2 feet of the waters edge, to ray and sharks off the jetty pier it was a fabulous experience. We chose to go on the boat snorkelling trip at $75 per person. The service and safety was very good but the reef location was very poor. The reefs on the island were much much better and free. This left us feeling that we had paid for a boat trip.
Everything considered, the Palace is very good to excellent.

This property is excellent. Beautiful place to spend a holiday in the Maldives. All staff are excellent and friendly. Resort is very clean and tidy. Food options for a la carte were good. Buffet food was very good. Much preferred the Palace side over the Atoll side as there was better selection of liquor, added food options, and it was quieter.

We stayed on the palace side and Muhammed the chef made sure that the food was hot and plentiful as well as the presentation was excellent...we also must give Torre a shout out as the bar manager....he was pleasant to all customers and went out of his way to ensure his staff was taking care of guest....he gets an At.....the ONLY criticism i have is with the room service menu....there were nothing more than cold sandwiches and a salad that were both subpar in quanity and quality....please update you menu like the other RIU to include burgers fries and pizza....because late at night thats what people want

I have never visited a hotel where the staff where so nice and well rounded. No one had a nasty attitude absolutely no one. The food options are great and all inclusive.
The only thing is that the Wi-Fi is not the best in the rooms, and that they do not allow drones. Besides that, this was our honeymoon, and we give a 20/10. Greatly recommended.

Beautifull place not a 5 star stay!

Beautifull location and views, the food and beverage staff were amazing with great attitude and service but really disappointed with the resort being marketed as a 5 star property when they definitely don't have the level of attention and service to be but a 4 star. From the moment we arrived at the Male airport the reception by the hotel staff was terrible not guest service at all just asked us if we were coming to the hotel and to wait on the side (The presence of the staff wasn't the best to said the least) and them the arrival to the island airport was very much the same, staff just asked you if you were coming to the hotel and to leave your bags there and jump in a bus, them get down from the bus and jump in a boat, again all these steps happen without anyone welcome you or explaining to you the process in a matter expected for a 5 star hotel. Them you arrive to the hotel pier, and you have one person giving cold hand towels and another one giving you old half empty plastic glasses with warm juice and asked everyone to seat on a waiting area so that one staff can barely explain the resort information to everyone and send you out on a golf cart packed with people to your rooms. Again, until now NOTHING of all these steps were even close to a 5-star experience. We arrive to the room and the mini bar consisted of 4 old bottles of vodka, gin, tequila and something else and an office style fridge with couple of sodas a big water bottle and 2 beers. I could keep explaining!!

Our stay was awesome! This is definitely a chilled vibe and relaxing resort. We loved our pool OWB! The option to have a pool and access to the ocean! Was a phenomenal experience! Our room was clean & very nice. The bed not as comfy as i would like but we made the best of it. Room service menu was very lack luster. I get it but if i prefer to stay in my room all day then there could be better food options for room service. The food options were pretty decent. Sofia (Italian restaurant) was the only place we were able to make reservations. The food was pretty good; I'm a picky eater. We weren't able to try the other restaurants as there wasn't any open time slots. The drinks were ok until I discovered the pineapple whiskey!! That was my drink during our stay! The bbq was nice and fun. There was a live band, grilling & mimosas by the beach! A perfect Sunday. We preferred the Palace side over Atoll. Marshall was outstanding!! Thank you for taking great care of us!! The staff is very accommodating and attentive. The gift shop is very small. Not many souvenirs too choose from; its a very quaint cute boutique. Plenty of water sports to choose from and their photographer is awesome as well. I did the flying dress session.
We really appreciate the fact that we pre made our arrival travel arrangements. Once we landed in MLÉ, there was a RUIwelcoming agent holding a sign guiding us to our seaplane. We were guided all the way to the resort and guided all the way back to the airport.

I really had high hopes for this resort. However, it failed in most aspects for me. Beautiful resort in general, and friendly staff for the most part. Those are really the only positives I can give this place. Let’s get into the negatives.

1. I had paid for this trip in full back in January 2023. About 3k for the resort and 1K for the plane ticket, which I paid in a package. I didn’t go on the actual trip until June. I had decided to add someone to my reservation. I called Expedia and was instructed to handle everything at the resort. You wouldn't believe that this place charged me an ADDITIONAL $1,800 to add ONE person to MY villa that I had already purchased. THEN they had the nerve to slide a bill under my door for almost $3k saying I still owed them, despite me paying for the resort in full in JANUARY. After I chose not to even address additional bill they attempted to force onto me, they proceeded to CUT OFF my room key, not allowing me to access my room. It took multiple days for them to figure out that I in fact did NOT owe them anymore money. I believe they were trying to take full advantage of me and the situation, very money hungry and low down. I was extremely disappointed.

2. I paid 3k for an overwater bungalow. The room on the inside is EXTREMELY underwhelming. Very unimpressive and mediocre. Not luxurious in the slightest. The outlets by the sink/ mirrors only go up to a certain wattage so you can’t even use a basic flat iron or charge your phone.

We like the beautiful view around us. The resort is divided into two, Palace and Atoll.
Palace is quiet and peaceful, and the sushi restaurant is amazing. Atoll you have all the activities and fun.
Unfortunately, there are not many activities for the kids.

And Louis ( donning staff) who had a beautiful laugh all the time and so helpful.
Palace side of hotel was so boring but atol side was more fun.

Since we arrived, we were greeted with a drink of something that I'm still finding out is the service, it's terrible, the gastronomy is catastrophic, I don't recommend this hotel to anyone, I live in Florida and For me it is not worth traveling so far thinking that it is paradise and in the end you find that everything is a lie

Absolutely amazing resort!

Absolutely amazing resort. My wife and I stayed for 1 week and could not have asked for a better stay. Pictures do not do it justice and the resort is beautiful. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Over water villa was spacious, quiet and had water access. For the most part the restaurant food was good. Broad range of activities on the island but they did tend to fill up quickly. Access to the resort was easy via seaplane and was a highly recommended experience. We would definitely stay here again.

Problems incurred the following
1) door lock battery kept malfunctioning every 24 hours causing inability to access room and had to walk to office for help
2) excellent massage spa at atoll side
3) must book 48 hours prior evening meals at specialty restaurants using, must use Rio App
4) Excellent deep sea fishing, jet skiing and snorkeling Highly recommended for all the activities
5) yoga classes excellent until you try to do Pádel board yoga which not enough boards are provided. Instructor refused second class
6) better bar selection and food selection at Palace side

We stayed an overall of 7 nights at RIU Palace resort. 4 Nights at a Beach Villa and 3 nights at an Overwater Villa w/ a swimming pool.

Overall we had an amazing stay at the resort from a location, logistics, comfort, weather, and friendliness perspective. However, we were deeply disappointed by the food and the room service.

While the resort has a wide range of food available, including speciality restaurants - the food lacked taste. Quick conversation w/ with employees reveled that the resort employees order their own food from a near by island.

Room Service has a very limited choice. 3 Types of deserts, and 5 types of food (3 sandwiches and 2 salads). No drinks. We expected much more from an all inclusive $1000 a night experience.

This resort is MAGICAL! It looks EXACTLY how it does in the Photos. As soon as you arrive you will be blown away from the water views , the crystal blue water and the staff? AMAZING!

I stayed in the over water room with the pool and it was the most spectacular vacation of my ENTIRE LIFE! Waking up to that sun rise and falling asleep to that sunset id something I can’t put into words.

The staff are so kind and gracious! Smiles 24/7 and always so accommodating. The only thing I wasnt so blown away with was the food but thats expected at any resort. The breakfast is definitely 8/10 forsure

My husband and I enjoyed our honeymoon at the Riu Palace Maldives and had the most amazing time! The property is beautiful with lots of activities and entertainment. The staff is wonderful and really make you feel welcome. Very clean resort with great amenities (ie spa,gym). Air port transfers were very well organized. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip from start to finish and would highly recommend the Riu Palace. If I had to be critical of one thing - it would be the food. The quality of the food in the restaurants (Italian, Fushion, Japanese, steakhouse) was better than the buffet.

Property was very clean place was beautiful the only thing was entertainment needs improvement like shows, pool activities beach activities food was great drinks taste like juice no liquor in rooms they should with the pandemic provide nip bottles in the rooms (minibar). They charge you for wine with room service. Only disappointment was that!!! this is an all inclusive property. and having to go out your room to go to the bar to get liquor or get charged for wine service to the room was very inconvenient and disappointing.
