My wife and I needed a break from a fast paced couple of weeks of our vacation. This chateau and the property it sits on was nothing short of spectacular. As an extra bonus, Tess, Daphne and Celia were there to serve and help us with all of our needs. The breakfast that was served was always the best of the best, including homemade jams. Beautiful landscaping surrounds the pool, which we swam in and found very clean and refreshing. There are numerous vineyards in the immediate area with gorgeous drives to get there. The restaurants in the area exceeded our expectations, there are no big cities anywhere around. We would drive many miles, even out of our way, to visit and enjoy the company of the people we met at the chateau.

Escape to the chateau

We had a wonderful stay. Truly a 5star experience. The chateau is amazing with every little detail considered. We were waited on hand and foot and could not have asked for more. It way exceeded our expectations. We had breakfast and dinner each day of our stay and all were exquisite.

Not a great stay

I booked the suite for 1 night as it had what looked like a private garden area for my wife and I to sit and enjoy a glass of wine in the evening. The seats and general feel to the garden/patio area was dank and grubby. The seat cushions were wet which was surprising as it had been in the high 29s all day.
On arrival I could not find a dedicated reception area so had to call them on the telephone. The Hotels.com booking page said that checkin was from 4pm and we arrived around 6:30pm. It did not say on Hotels.com site that there wasn’t anybody from the hotel onsite after 8pm. We found this out as we were shown to our room. Once in our room, we were asked if we wanted breakfast which we asked if we could let them know once we had settled in. This is when we found out that she was leaving shortly. The host was fine but we were asked to leave the kitchen as we had found it and put our rubbish in the bins somewhere near the chateau. I have never been asked to contribute to the housekeeping on a hotels.com or any other booking site before. We complied with the request but couldn’t find the external bins in the morning so ended up driving round with our rubbish in the car until we found a public bin.

All in all, we probably wouldn’t return. The list of 10/10 reviews prompted me to leave a not so perfect account as I believe them to be misleading and built my expectations to high for the delivery of the experience.

Amazing hospitality at beautiful Château

During our stay at Château de Courtebotte, we opted for the Treehouse. The room had lovely views over the river and the gardens of the Château.
The manager was outstanding and super accomodating. She offered us some fresh fruits from the gardens and went out of her way to ensure we had a lovely stay.

We stayed in the tree house. Aishe is a wonderful host, so welcoming and gave us good advice for dinner. Packed pieces of cake for us when we left. The property is charming with a view on the Dordogne. Grounds are beautiful and maintained with love.

Outrageously amazing breakfast and treehouse stay. Other rooms looked very nice also. We had wet weather but the pool looked extremely inviting. The ground were immaculately kept and great fun for kids. Just a beautiful place and only 10 mins from St Emilion if you fancy a stop there.

Amazing stay at Chateau Cortebotte.

Chateau Cortebotte was truly amazing. A very short drive to the historic wine city of Saint Emilion and many other chateau of the region. She does a Wednesday night dinner at the Chateau that we highly recommend as Isabelle is an amazing cook. We could have spent another week just hanging out and taking little adventures. Can't wait to return

Beautiful château and fantastic host

An ideal location for visiting Saint Emilion and the local vineyards. We had a very comfortable and quite room, and an amazing breakfast! The Chateau has been renovated to a wonderful standard, with beautiful decor. Isabelle, the host, went above and beyond with helping to book a fantastic restaurant for us, storing our bicycles overnight, and offering us a room over-looking the river (an upgrade on what we had originally booked). A little gift of home-cooked French cakes when we left was a lovely touch. We’ll definitely be recommending Château de Courtebotte to friends and family.

Beautiful Chateau

Chateau is gorgeous and less than 10 minutes from St Emillion. Rooms are spacious and beautiful. Lots of beautiful common rooms. Breakfast was wonderful. You really get pampered on your stay and get great recommendations on what to do and where to eat.

Spotless comfortable accommodation, superb breakfasts, quiet location and comfortable beds for a great nights sleep. The owner, Isabelle and her team do everything possible to make your stay as good as possible. I am a disabled wheelchair user and Isabelle ensured that our self catering accommodation was suitable for me. She offered to have had our breakfast brought over to us but we elected to take it in the beautiful old Chateau. We were there for 4 days and we will be going back for a longer stay.

The Chateau Courtabotte is the most amazing place that I have had the pleasure to visit. The rooms are extraordinary and the views of the Dordonge River is breathtaking. The hospitality of our hosts was very warm and friendly and attentive to meet our needs. The breakfast was exquisite with a beautiful spread including cooked eggs, a variety of fruits and juices, yogurt, croissants, cakes and homemade jams. I give the highest recommendation for you to stay at this lovely chateau and be sure to visit Bonhoste Winery.

Outstanding!!!

Stayed at this property one night after a weekend in Bordeaux in mid January. It was fantastic! Isabelle, the owner, went above and beyond in her service, arranging a tour and wine tasting on our behalf and making reservations at a great local restaurant . Her breakfast service was also fresh, simple and delicious. The chateau has been beautifully restored and maintained. The guest room where we stayed had a 5 star quality to it with great amenities. Our only regret was that we were there in January and not in late spring or summer to be able to truly enjoy everything this hotel had to offer. The setting is beautifully peaceful and a great base from which to tour the local wine region. This is an outstanding place to stay and recommend it highly.

Wonderful Chateau with a superb breakfast

Highly recommend this wonderful Chateau on the banks of The Dordogne. Beautiful inside and out with highly individual rooms. We stayed in The Pavilion which you can see on the photograph attached. Wonderful hosts and a tremendous breakfast, all home made, juices, yoghurt, crepes, jams. Really delicious and plentiful. We hadn't been to the area before, if we return will be sure to stay here

We had a special 3 days at the Chateau De Courtebotte, just regret we did not book for a longer stay. Isabelle is a great host and the food, dinner and breakfast, outstanding. Recommendations for visits and restaurants in the local area were all great. Our room was quiet, spacious, clean and comfortable. We had a wonderful time with great memories and highly recommend a stay at the Chateau.

So so good. One of the best places we have ever stayed, we couldn't fault anything.

The location was perfect; on the bank of the Dordogne approximately one hour drive from Bordeaux. A great place to get away from it all and unwind. There is also a brilliant restaurant (recommended by Isabelle) less than ten minutes walk away (Auberge Saint Jean).

The property was stunning. The pictures on the website do not do this place justice. We stayed in the Patio Suite, we would highly recommend. The private terrace was perfect for chilling. We had our breakfast served there each morning. The breakfast was huge and so tasty. The bathroom was huge and well designed; the bath is amazing.

The owners Isabelle and Pascal make this place. They are the perfect hosts and will do anything to help. Much better service and personal interaction than you'd get in any hotel.

I could write so many positive things about the Chateau but the only thing I need to say is book now, you will not be disappointed!

Idyllic French Chateau Paradise

You really can't fault this place. Isabelle couldn't do enough to help us, from booking in wine tours and restaurants in advance of arrival, to rescuing us when we were lost! The grounds are stunning, and the interior of the building has been renovated outstandingly. We had the room with the huge terrace at the front which overlooked the river and caught the evening sun and the room was stunning! We had a meat/cheese board on our first evening which was delicious, and the breakfasts were equally impressive. Isabelle is a fantastic cook! Staying here was the highlight of our trip and I'd certainly say it's one of the best places I've ever stayed.

Great base for exploring St emilion and wineries

Recently restored 17th century chateau with a very accommodating innkeeper. Large rooms, pool, jacuzzi, all nicely furnished. Isabelle (owner/innkeeper) recommended wonderful restaurants and arranged winery tours. Located approximately 10km from St. Emilion on the Dordogne River. Note that the chateau is located just outside a small village, so you will need a personal or rental car to access it.

We Will Return!!!

We choose the Chateau because we needed to stay a night prior to driving to Paris….Isabelle was really quite wonderful and our stay was magnificent. We arrived from St Emilion and were blown away by the beauty of the Chateau. Great location, near the Dordogne river, Great pool, large rooms, fabulous breakfast.. on the grounds was a little children's play house, a \" tree house' that you can rent out.. a billiard Table..We felt like the count and countress coming back to stay!! Can't say enough good things.. we will return!! Also Isabelle booked us a table at a brand new Michelin Stared restaurant… GREAT meal within walking distance to the Chateau

Recently renovated chateau and adjoining buildings, offering a range of room options. The owners are not only extremely hospitable, but they have spared no expense in creating 'home from home' accommodation. Recommended if you want a quiet location 15 minutes from St Emilion and with easy access to both Bordeaux and the Dordogne.

Great find for an off-the-beaten path vacation

Upon making a reservations on hotels.com, Isabelle (owner of the property) emailed us and basically planned our whole stay in the St Emilion region. She booked vineyard tours for us and the dinner recommendations were excellent (although we could have done without the Micheline star one). The only thing to note is breakfast was charged extra and a bit pricey. The design is beautiful and our stay was overall extremely enjoyable.

A great place to stay

Isabelle and her family have worked hard to create a stylish and comfortable environment for guests in their beautiful old chateau. We stayed in the Pavilon, which is a small cottage in the chateau's grounds with great views from it's position on the banks of the Dordogne. The Pavilon is ideal for a couple in it's lovely upstairs bedroom but does have a convertible double bed in the downstairs lounge as well.
Isabelle's breakfasts, eaten round a large communal table in the splendid dining room, are a delight with pancakes etc made to order.
We would thoroughly recommend Chateau de Courtbotte to anyone staying in this area.

Great location, fantastic Chateau, superb hostess. This was easily one of our best mid-week breaks. Isabelle, our hostess, managed everything and made this a fantastic time. St Emilion is beautiful and the local restaurant (Auberge de Saint Jean) was great.
