Hotel was excellent in a good location but restaurants close on sunday and monday leaving one choice across the street and reservations are a most . The city of Libourne does not have a lot to offer and we do not think is it worth a visiting

The stay was lovely mostly: clean, comfortable and the staff were gravious and helpful.
They are doing a lot of upgrading so there are workmen and noise during the day. Also thevrooms that look over the river get traffic noise.

Super stay ideally located on the edge of the old town on the banks of the Dordogne, planned to take a train to Bordeaux from the nearby station but the reliable French decided on a National Strike! We visited St Emilion instead which is lovely.

A gem close to Saint-Emilion

A Perfect place to sray when you visit the wine region and Saint-Emilion. Located in the small city of Libourne, you will find at the Mercure all the amenities you need for a cosy adventure in wine country. Easy parking, extremely comfortable bed, and great service. I highly recommend it !

Nice business hotel in a rundown, bleak area with horrible parking. Walking alone at night is scary. Driving the extremely narrow and crowded streets is scarier. Too bad this hotel is where it is.

Good hotel, unfriendly reception

The hotel itself is fine; standard modern Mercure. Receptionist Sailata was profoundly unfriendly, almost hostile, for no obvious reason and this spoiled our stay. This was greatly in contrast with our previous visits to this hotel, where the reception has been friendly, welcoming and helpful.

Weekend visit to the vineyards

Overall a good stay although disappointing there was no restaurant, only preprepared room service meals other than breakfast. We did not take breakfast because we believe that it was very overpriced compared to other hotels of similar quality that we have enjoyed. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating and did what they could to help guests overcome the difficulties faced by ongoing roadworks that impacted on entrance and exit to the car park. The effective air conditioning was an absolute bonus given the temperatures above 35 degrees in the shade! The internet was not so strong and we never achieved more than a sixty per cent signal.

Spent one night here in June, The staff were very friendly and the hotel spotless. As id expect from the Mercure chain the room was clean and comfortable.

The town itself didn't seem so have much going on but it was late when we arrived and the hotel bar was sufficient for a drink.

Good hotel but breakfast is far too expensive

Stayed here for a couple of nights when touring (by aircraft) round France.
Good hotel, very clean and up market, room comfortable but breakfast was an outrageous €15 so we went into town for half that price.

Had an overnight on our was to stay with friends in Castillonnes. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel nice and clean and breakfast was very good for the price. The hotel is located opposite a very pretty section of river. Nice little eatery across the road by the river. Had drinks there and ended up having dinner there as well. Suggest you book for dinner, we didn't but they very kindly fitted us in.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this hotel. The chap who dealt with our check-in was so very very helpful - a delight to talk to (sorry - we did ask his name but we have forgotten it!). We felt the parking was very secure. Our room was very comfy with a lovely view of the river. We have stayed in this hotel once before - we shall return again.

4* hotel with no proper restaurant!

We were disappointed to find that the hotel was in Libourne and not St Emilion. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon to find nothing open with most places in Libourne also closed on Monday. We got a meal in the only restaurant open in town! When we asked at reception about possible places for wine tasting we were told that they did not know. This came after waiting 10 minutes for someone to appear at reception. This was the worst hotel that we stayed on our visit to France.

We chose this hotel as a base to explore St. Emilion and also to be close to the Bordeaux airport. The hotel was a bit difficult to locate, but once we were there we found it very satisfactory. The staff was pleasant and helpful, the rooms were a good size and the shower was great. A very quiet place to stay and the secure parking was on the premises. I think we made a very good choice by choosing Hotel Mercure and can recommend it to anyone who wishes to visit the area nearbyl. The breakfast was very good with more options than other hotels we have stayed at.

Good base for St Emilion

Rooms with sheltered balcony, overlooking the junction of Dordogne and Isle rivers. Breakfast included! Can park on quai across the street. Easy navigation in and out of town. Can walk to some restaurants. Helpful staff, modern rooms but with a piece of medieval wall in the reception area.

Reasonable modern hotel close to river

This is a basic Mercure hotel with the usual problems regarding wifi. Why can't they get it right. We choose hotels specifically with wifi and the connection is always very patchy in Mercure hotels however new the build. However the staff were very friendly and helpful and we had a good nights sleep. No restaurant but a limited choice of bar meals available.

Convenient and comfortable overnight stop.

We stayed in Libourne overnight before taking the train to Paris. The room was small but comfortable and clean. We were given a choice of shower or bath (with overhead shower) on arrival and were also able to check in early. The staff were very helpful and ordered an early taxi for us the following day. The hotel fronts the river but our room looked onto a school yard which could be noisy at sometimes of the year. We didn't eat at the hotel although this was an option. We were not overwhelmed by Libourne as a place but found a choice of restaurants about 10 minutes walk away from the hotel. It suited us for an overnight stop but I wouldn't want to stay longer in the town.

Fair hotel let down by breakfast experience.

Whilst hotel in general was fine it is not of a four star standard as described in some references. The overall impression was let down by the quality and setting of the breakfast - which cost an inexplicable 15 euros each. We went for breakfast half an hour before closure but after a large coach party had left, and it seems they may have been the majority of guests the previous night. The actual dining room was small and uninviting and compared poorly with many ibis hotels we have recently used in France, and this is unacceptable given than ibis is generally rated one star lower in the Accor group than the mercure hotels. The breakfast items were hap hazardly arranged and so called hot items were cold and not replenished even though half an hour remained of the opening times. We only saw one member of staff who did not exactly go out of his way to make us feel welcome. The breakfast content and whole ambience dragged down our overall impression of the hotel

Good parking clean friendly hotel

We thought the hotel and the hotel staff were very friendly and welcoming. It was a shame though that we didn't experience that same welcome throughout the small town -despite trying to speak French (apart from the nice man in the town hall cafe)! I really think the hotel would benefit from a better provision of food and more English channels on the TV. I was slightly shocked to be greeted by a huge dog in the lift and I don't like to think that dogs may have slept in the room but despite this I cant complain about how clean the room was. The parking was excellent and the bar area was very nice. It was easy to find the hotel straight from the motorway and I would recommend the hotel as a pure overnight stop on the journey to the north or south. The rate was reasonably priced.

Nice room, limited hotel services

This is a nice small modern hotel in a quiet area overlooking the river on the edge of the historic centre of Libourne. Well located for exploring the St Emilion wine area. The room was nicely furnished with air con and an opening window. The breakfast buffet was good, but beyond that the hotel services were not really 4 star. For example, there is no restaurant and, although the bar served microwaved food, it did not open until after six in the evening. Most local restaurants are closed on both Sunday and Monday, and when we did eat in the hotel bar, the food was disappointing and there was an attempt to over-charge for food we did not have. The hotel is best for short stay business users or overnight stop.

Enjoyed our stay

Was here for a wedding which didn't take place in the hotel. Hotel ideally located in libourne.Short walk to to Town Centre. St. Emillion short drive away. Didn't eat at all in the hotel so cant rate the food. Bar was nice but were unable to cope with a crowd. We went for drinks up the town. On our 2nd day the roof(air conditiong) started leaking and this turned into near flood in our room. Staff were unable to move us as hotel was full. We were given Free Parking as a result which i think should be free anyway so they didn't go out of their way to compensate us. But besides this it was ok.

A very nice hotel well situated for the vineyards of Fronsac and Pomerol. The Unesco preserved town of Saint Emilion is a must-see and is only 20 minutes away.
The hotel is situated on the banks of the River Dordogne and has private parking.

Nous avions une obligation de temps ( célébration mariage )et devions pouvoir prendre nos chambres à 13 heures après avoir fait cette demande a la réception de l hôtel dés la réservation et ensuite la veille de notre arrivée , il m a été répondu que cela dépendait de l heure de libération des chambres donc pas de certitude
ce qui fut le cas puisque nous avons pu prendre nos chambres qu'a 13h45
Je suis vraiment déçue qu'un établissement tel que celui de Libourne n'a pas réussi a libérer et préparer 2 chambres 1 heure avant l horaire officiel 14 heures

est ce un manque d'organisation? n'a pas intégrer la notion de service CLIENT ?

Séjour d'une nuit avec ma femme. La chambre est convenable pour le prix mais située a proximité direct d'un collège ce qui est plutôt bruyant le matin. Ne posera pas problème le week-end au contraire puisque la chambre ne donne pas sur la route. Propreté convenable. Petit déjeuner un peu cher pour ce qui est servi.

Évacuation alarme feu hier soir , tout le matériel de chantier sur le palier d étage ,coupure d électricité ce matin dans la chambre ,bruit de travaux ce matin à partir de 8h30 et hier sur la fin de journée .un très mauvais rapport qualité prix

Accueil sympa à l'arrivée mais la notion de service est très superficielle! (room service quasi inexistant, manque de produit douche et savon signalé à la réception: pour simplifier on me donne les recharges et à moi de me d........!! hallucinant pour un soi-disant" 4*"!!

Et le petit déjeuner facturé 19,5€ n'a rien de surnaturel!
Des Ibis Budget font mieux!! Avec 1 seule personne au service, (elle ne pouvait pas fournir au vu du nombre de clients!), machine à café en rade, plus de fruits frais, et j'en oublie!!

Heureusement qQu'ils ne font pas restaurant, une chance!!
