We booked this property last minute after we had to abruptly leave an Air B&B. We had no idea what it would be like as we did not research ahead of time. But we were extremely happy with our stay. The room was clean and comfortable, the property quaint and the staff friendly. We stayed 2 nights and dined one of the evenings at their restaurant on site. It was great! We would definitely recommend this property. Only con is it is a bit longer drive from the center of Saint Emilion.

Comfortable & good restaurant

We stopped over for one night and chose the property for its location in the vines, pool and the fact that it had a restaurant.

The decor is dated but the rooms are spacious and comfy. The pool is compact and far too cold for anything more than a quick dip which was disappointing.
The restaurant was excellent and surprisingly buzzy.

Would recommend for a short stay.

Great Chateau hotel stay near St Emillion

Come here with a car, it is further away from anything. The navigation apps find this place without issues. Lots of parking available. About 15 minutes drive to St Emillion. This Chateau independent hotel was excellent with friendly and helpful staffs, good dine-in fine local restaurant, very good wine, Air conditioner worked well, beds were supportive and very clean, Tub-Shower with 1/3 glass door and with very good hot water pressure. Cleaning staffs did their job well. Rooms were large with partly modern upgrades, layout was a little funny but no issues for us given it is a old chateau. No elevator but just one set of large stairs and the staffs willingly to help you with the luggages. Great stay A+

there is a new side and an old side to the hotel. We stayed on the old side. There was a very large spider in our room. There were cobwebs on light fixtures in the bathroom corners. The staff was excellent and attentive. I am gluten-free, and they did try to make accommodations. They did have rules for me. But not much for me to eat. Other than that we tried the restaurant the menu is only in French and hard to understand and not sure that the staff understand what gluten-free means. Overall, the stay was OK, I would probably not go back in the room with really quiet though, I think the walls were 2 feet thick, thick, and the view is spectacular out our window in the morning. They were also harvesting grapes while we were there, so it was cool to see.

Stayed two nights in the double with 3 twins. Twins were located upstairs on second floor. Beds were nice and firm. Private bathroom with tub and hand held shower. Kids swam in pool and enjoyed themselves. Staff was very nice, bit little English. We came in late and had key waiting for us. FYI, all rooms are attached to the chateaux, not down the road. Instructions waiting for us were a little confusing due to the translation issue. Overall very happy with experience. Would stay again in a heart beat.

Beautiful chateau in the Bordeaux region. Newly refurbished, with great spacious rooms and a lovely setting.

Good bar area outside with (of course!) fantastic wines. Very good restaurant where we are a very good set menu at €35 for 3 courses. Highly recommended

A lovely hotel close to Saint Emilion

We booked the triple room which had a double bed and a single bed for one night. The room was very spacious and tastefully decorated with wooden furniture with two large windows. There were four steps which were leading to a shower/ bathtub/ bathroom and a separate toilet. Everything was clean and quiet; a bonus was the swimming pool. The staff was very friendly and accommodated our late check in with no problems.

We wished we would have stayed longer in this peaceful place which was surrounded with vineyards and in easy reach to all the sights of the area. We would definitely return to this place.

This is a old chateau that offer stays at a reasonable rate. However the conditions of the place is so, so. We arrived when it was 37 C/ 102 F there was no A/C just a little fan. When it rained the water dripped right on you when you sat on the toilet. Also the bathroom was covered with spiders.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay because the hotel was so peaceful and calm. The staff were extremely helpful eg by ordering taxis.
The food was delicious and the dining areas were oasis of calm.
The outdoor space was relaxing especially the pool area although on Saturday there was a smell of sewage.

Very nice hotel about 10k outside Saint Emilion

Our room was a lovely renovated tower room. It was a nice size with a very comfortable king bed, flat screen TV and a table with two cofortable easy chairs. The modern bathroom was beautiful with a large garden tub. We had dinner in the restaurant and each course was delicious as well as beautifully presented. Our only complaint was that our room was very cold but as soon as we mentioned the problem, the staff brought a standalone heater to the room.

This beautiful chateau was fantastic. Our room was spacious and very clean with a great view of the backyard and the surrounding vineyards. We ate a delicious dinner here outside (although there is also indoor seating if you prefer). They have a great swimming private swimming pool that overlooks the vineyards. The sunsets here were absolutely breathtaking.

Close to a lovely town called St Emilion which is also worth a visit.

The Hotel de Roques as advertised is a medieval castle located about 10k from Chaterallault. We arrived late in the season, late October and the proprietors were largely preparing to shut down for the winter. Our experience was tempered by the fact the castle was a little more medieval than we would have liked. The room in the turret was sparsely furnished, no TV, and windows were small making the room a little gloomy. The proprietors were extremely pleasant and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. Dinner was not a option since only 3 people were staying at the hotel and I expect they do not do dinner for less than 8 to 10 persons.

Amazing small chateau on a vineyard

If you're looking for a wonderful stay in the countryside, book this place! You will definitely need to be traveling car. I was traveling with 3 friends up through the countryside and booked this place for one night because we wanted to stay on a vineyard. I wish we had planned to stay longer! The staff was exceptionally nice, we arrived after check-in and the front desk made arrangement for us to pick up the key at the desk and left the light on for us. One of the waiters at the hotel kindly showed us to our unit. Our room was beautiful. It had two floors, one full size bed on the first floor and biggest bathroom I've ever seen, and the upstairs had three twin beds. We ordered a bottle of their wine (the Margot) to our room in the evening, it was spectacular! In the morning we took some beautiful pictures of the vineyards and rolling hills. Had a nice breakfast at the hotel and drove 10 minutes into St. Emilion (another place not to miss!).

Quiet stay in the vineyards

Stayed four nights, mostly out touring during the day and around only at night and at breakfast. Found the service good and the room spacious and full of character. Some might not care for the tilted old floor but we didn't mind and thought it was part of the package in a rambling stone structure hundreds of years old. Bathroom and other conveniences have been fully updated.

Superb wine country location and fairly good room

This is a beautiful small old "chateau" surrounded by vineyards . It has been restored beautifully. Though old, it was very nice with beautiful indoor/outdoor dining. Fine cuisine to be recommended. Light gets in early morning on the top floor/attic. This can be easily remedied by the owner by fixing additional curtains on both sides of the triangular feature window. The room was very spacious and facilities were very good. This is wine country with. Staff were very accomodating/helpful.

A very attractive hotel with nice grounds and pool. However our room was not finished off.ie laminate flooring and plasterboard had been used and there was no beading or wood to cover over at bottom of wall. This is only a small job but obviously one they are not doing! Evening meal was lovely as was breakfast.
My husband had to clean items in the bathroom and the place was very dusty and lacking in furniture polish but overall it was a lovely house and I would go again. Staff were very helpful.

A really lovely hostellerie with bags of charm and character. Lovely clean and spacious room with a four-poster bed looking out over the swimming pool and vineyard opposite, it really was quite delightful. The hotel restaurant was very nice: the one evening meal I had there was very good and the courtyard location was quite lovely. Breakfasts were generous too. The only criticisms I have are that the soundproofing was quite woeful, and there was no fan or air-con in the room. There is literally no breeze in this part of the world so it really was stifling!

I was expecting a great stay since this is such a fabulous location. You are situated right in the vineyards and the views are fantastic. However this hotel is very disorganized and I found the staff and their knowledge of the hotel lacking. I would say that it is just poorly managed and the upkeep of the hotel was lacking. The only way we could have a proper shower was to hold the shower head over our head since it would not clip to the shower bar. The dinner was very limiting and the only wine you could purchase was their "house" wines which was very over priced for the region and lacked quality. It's a shame since the location was great along with the hotel building. As stated previously I believe the issue is with management of the hotel and if they correct this I believe it could be a very nice place to stay.

Relaxing location

Stopped over here on the way to Cap d'Adge, set amid the vineyards this was an enchanting find. The room was very nicely furnished, don't understand why this is only 2* as it deserves more with the quality of furnishings, swimming pool, billiards room and restaurant. Only downside is if you don't want to eat in their retaurant you will have to drive to the next village for other restaurants (20 mins) We will be returning on our next trip south.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this hotel, but I can safely say I have NO idea why it's only a 2-star hotel! We stayed in an outstanding room - huge, with a large bed, authentic old furniture, a bathroom with separate toilet. It was so charming and romantic! We couldn't believe our eyes when we arrived. We chose to eat in the hotel, which was expensive but extremely tasty. The only negatives were that the shower head didn't attach to the wall, making it hard to shower. Also, the wine was very expensive, starting at about €25 a bottle. We had expected cheap local wine, given its location in a vineyard, but that wasn't the case.

Restaurant og poole område slidt. Der var ikke hynder til liggestolen og pool området er lille, så de mange liggestole fyldte området.
Udenoms rådet trænger til at blive opgraderet, det kunne være hyggeligt at der var gjort mere ud af ude området med blomster og generelt shinet op.
Det kunne være dejligt at der var et lille køleskab på værelset til at holde sig vand køligt.

Schöne Unterkunft für die Erkundund der Umgebung

Das Frühstück war wirklich gut und lecker. Es war nachts ruhig, obwohl unser Zimmer doch recht hellhörig war. Beim Abenessen hat es recht lange gedauert bis das Essen serviert wurde, aber das lag wohl auch daran das das Restaurante sehr gut besucht war. In allernächster Umgebung war nicht viel zu entdecken.

Sitio idílico.

Sitio encantador con un entorno y unas instalaciones maravillosas. Como punto en contra, las habitaciones no tienen climatización y (pese al ventilador) hacía calor.
