The hotel location is beautiful. The beach is very nice but I imagine it gets very crowded in high season as it was relatively crowded on nice days of the low season.

However, service was really bad. Rude staff or just careless (perhaps without realizing). No attention to detail that you would expect from a high price tag, 5 star hotel. Food was less than average and limited options of drinks (most wines on the menus were “out of stock”) and even coffee didn’t taste good. Again, ok hotel but def not for the price tag it warranted.

We went in off season so it was a bit cold. It would have been nice if at least one pool was a bit heated but the pools were all freezing cold and it was 24/25 degrees outside.

Our room was very nice with a wonderful sea view. The resort itself if very nice. The buffet offered a wonderful selection of food and it was delicious. The food at the three specialty restaurants was not great and was disappointing, so we def preferred the buffet. The staff overall were not very friendly and the resort did not do much to organise activities. Not sure I would recommend this resort.

This is certainly not a 5 star hotel. 2/3 of the lifts were out of order on my last day. The queues for the buffet were horrendous and the food was always cold. Only for the Al la carte restaurants, you would want to leave the hotel.

Room size was great & balcony was a nice touch. Bathroom was a little on the smaller side. Breakfast and lunch options were good- we mainly ate out in old town in the evening as the buffet wasn't our scene. Buffet & pool did get particularly busy, seemed to be a lot of children.

Lovely staff who offered great service. It was a well-kept resort and beach, with a fantastic selection of food and drinks. They had a great range of entertainment (something for everyone), and the bar areas were well ran and services. The spa area was really relaxing, with great amenities - we had great massages there! The a la carte restaurants were brilliant, and we also enjoyed our a la carte breakfast upgrade (it was a very peaceful way to start the day). We would definitely come back.

Very family friendly which it is advertised as and so many amazing facilities for children but definitely very busy due to the size of the hotel - would’ve preferred adult only in this instance

The hotel was very modern, aesthetically pleasing and spacious.
Check in was nice and easy and the swim up pool room was great - just note if you don’t plan to go for the sea view option, your pool might be in the shade for most the day!

There were a LOT of small children and families, however there was the option to stay in the adult only hotel in the complex (but of course, more expensive!) It’s a shame there wasn’t a section in the main hotel for adults during the day time - the pool nearest to the beach would be perfect for this as there were beds in the pool etc, but instead was full of babies and young children.

We chose to sit on the beach throughout our visit as the main pool was VERY crowded. However getting sunbeds was no issue whatsoever.

The buffet was brilliant both at morning and dinner and the staff were great, especially Jane!
We booked the Italian and Latin America restaurant towards the end of the holiday to leave it on a high - these both were a massive disappointment and I would refuse to pay for the meals if I had been half board! The staff were rude, una

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel and I was very satisfied with everything. The food was delicious with a wide variety of options to choose from each day. Our room was clean, and housekeeping did a great job, cleaning daily and keeping the minibar well-stocked.
The beach and pools were absolutely fantastic – perfect for relaxing and enjoying the sun.
I want to give a special thanks to Joanna from the Philippines, who served us many times at the restaurant. She was truly the kindest and most attentive person I've ever met. Her warm and friendly attitude made our dining experience even more enjoyable. Thank you, Joanna!

This our 2nd visit to Helea and it was great, as a family with young kids looking for a one-stop-shop this resort checks all the boxes - full board, beach, pools, water park, kids club, cinema, nightly family activities and shows and more. The resort functioned impeccably (except for some minor hiccups with the the main restaurant during rush hour and with the room cleaners), the kids had tons of fun and their parents too!

We’d definitely recommend it for families. The hotel was really clean, Everyone was so friendly and great with our little boy. There were loads of food options, and we loved being able to grab snacks all day from the beach bar and street food hub. The pools were great, and the whole place had a really nice vibe and aesthetic. The only small issue was needing to be up early for sunbeds, but that’s to be expected during the summer holidays. The property itself is lovely, very clean, bright and well maintained. The negatives are the A la carte restaurants and the sunbed shenanigans. The a la cartes are very difficult (if not impossible for some of them) to get into and once you do the food and service was disappointing. The sun beds are ridiculous! Most have towels by 6.30 in the morning and although signs are around saying no holding beds this is in no way inforced.

We have just got back from a week at this hotel, 2 adults 2 children. Although aesthetically this hotel is beautiful, the reality of it is far from that.

- Restaurants
The main buffet restaurant is chaotic, it is so busy and very under staffed. Takes forever to be served, variety is lacking especially for children. There were no areas where food is prepared in front of you like other all inclusive resorts. One day we sat down with our cereal for breakfast and asked for some spoons to which a staff member replied ‘we haven’t got any’ and walked off. Most times there were huge queues to be seated at the restaurant, some days the queue was so long it left the restaurant, filled the corridor and carried on up the stairs. There are other bookable restaurants but these get booked up very fast and in my experience it felt as though what you were getting was the same options that were at the buffet just plated a bit nicer!

- Bars
There are limited availability to get drinks, especially if you are at the children’s slide area or at a swim up room and when you do go to the bar there is always a huge queue.

- Rooms
We had a junior family suite (swim up room). The room was very small with very limited storage options. There is also no iron in the room and no facilities in the hotel to be able to iron your own clothes. You have to pay them €6 per t-shirt to use their ironing service.

- Main Pool

We enjoyed our stay at Helea, although I would not consider it a 5-star. The rooms and lobby are quite nice (newly renovated), the grounds are well kept, but the food is no where near 5 stars. The main buffet is very average - we preferred breakfast out of all the 3 meals offered there. The dinner buffer was not great at all, in fact we went into town a few nights to eat authentic Greek food (highly recommend). The restaurants on site are also average - we went to 2, and enjoyed 1 of the 2. The grill by the pool is well below average - they don't even make a good quality burger. The only pool food we enjoyed was the gyros. We talked to other couples who had the exact same opinions. The least they should offer is good quality poolside food. T

The service is good, but again not 5 star service. You have to wait a while for drinks in the lobby in the evening (only one main bar), no servers coming around offering drinks to you by the pool, limited high end alcohol, no cushioned pool loungers (typical features a 5-star would offer as we have been to an amazing 5 star all inclusive).

If you are a family with children, and aren't looking for a very upscale experience, this resort is great. There are kids everywhere, a small waterpark, and the pool is huge. If you looking for a romantic quiet couple getaway, I would try the adults only resort next to Helea instead.

Personally, we would not stay here again, although it depends what you're looking for and expectations you have.

It’s definitely a great place and I had a great time but for the price you’re paying and for the 5 stars it has there are quite a few things that come to mind that aren’t that great.
Having no real options for 3 people to house in a room was annoying since the third person has to sleep on a sleep sofa type thing. Light switches weren’t working properly and some lights were making weird noises. If you’re a 3 people group you only got drinks for two people and same with the bathrobe and slippers. We had to go and ask for a third pair of each ourselves.

Staff was incredibly nice and always tried their best which was great. It’s just issues with the things there and no issues with staff whatsoever.

The hotel itself was lovely, beautiful room. More family orientated than anticipated and as a couple travelling we would have appreciated an adults only area. There was a smaller pool but we tried to use this twice and both times, before 8am, all beds had been reserved by towels which was really disappointing as the hotel has a no reservation policy but this was obviously not enforced. Air con only went to 22 and would have liked it just slightly cooler bearing in mind the high outside temp. Despite being all inclusive, and having a swim up room, the mini bar only had soft drinks so rather than walking to the bar we would pay at the mini market instead. The al a carte restaurants were fantastic, especially the Sushi one. Breakfast service was sometimes slow so that our coffees didn't arrive until after we'd eaten.

When arrived, the gentleman that checked us in was amazing.
After that every other staff was very average.
When asked to the barista how was your day? Boring was he’s response.
The lifeguard at the kids aqua park had no interest in keeping kids safe. Example my son was stuck in the tube screaming, he couldn’t hear it but my husband that was walking towards the aqua park could. Obviously I was running around trying to work out which tube he was in. When I approached him about the matter, he had a chip on he’s shoulder.
Food is so average and not enough traditional options.
It’s over crowded and not enough staff.
I wouldn’t rate this as a 5 star experience at all.

The exterior of the hotel and pool area is stunning and we had pur own private beach front. So you didnt have to worry when heading into the sea.
The staff were great and extremely helpful, however I felt that they could hire more waiting staff to speed up the process of getting drinks etc.

What stopped me from giving 5 stars, was that the lift in the main building kept on breaking so we'd have to take the stairs alot . The Aircon in the bedroom, was pretty weak and we could only bring it to 22degress.

But overall, we really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it.

Thought the Helea hotel was lovely, really nice and modern hotel with great facilites and staff.

I would happily give this resort 5 stars but as a result of the food buffet and the sun lounges i give Helea 3 stars.

Upon arrival we were told we only were allowed two reservations to use at the A la Carte restaurants which was pretty gutting as I wouldn’t have booked knowing this before hand. As a result we had to eat in the buffet restaurant 4/6 nights where the food was terrible. This was a shame since the food in the a la carte restaurants were incredible, especially at Tsouka and Lerma.

Regarding the sun lounges, it states residents aren’t allowed to reserve them yet everyone still does. People will go down in the early hours of the morning to do so therefore it was hard to find space. I’m on holiday to relax, not to wake up around 6am to go down and put a towel down on a sun lounge …

Other than this the hotel was lovely, really aesthetically pleasing and perfect location on the sea with the best views.

For context I’m mid 20’s and my mother is in her late 50’s and we both loved it so much.

The wellness spa was amazing ! Incredible ! Staff there were amazing too.

There were so many ways they made this stay special like surprising my mum with a birthday cake and other free things just because.

Everyone is so polite and lovely. Although it is a family resort, I didn’t feel disturbed by the kids at all.

Infact it was nice to have the kids around as they added a lovely touch to the resort. The resort also made adequate provision for the kids.

I ate and ate till I couldn’t eat anymore ! The food is incredible. Everyone at the beach bar knew me by face and name before I left; that’s how much I loved the food

The drinks are superb and I was spoilt for choice ! I feel like I was in heaven ! Thank you so much Helea !

I also enjoyed the shops available and bought three stunning pieces from the jewellery shop.

Once again, thank you so much ! I’ll be back !!!

This is our 3rd stay at Helea and it is consistently great. Beautifully designed hotel, at a fantastic location, with a great staff and service. We enjoyed a wonderful welcome and a room upgrade. The hotel was at full capacity, but it was not felt at all (no long lines etc.). The facilities are well maintained and are suitable for all traveler types and the beach is perfect. Highly recommended.

I have to give a mixed review as sone areas were good, others disappointing. The room was not cleaned until late afternoon and the mini bar was not stocked on 4 occasions. There is no iron available which for a 5 star hotel I could not believe. You have to use the ironing service at the hotel. The specialist restaurants you have to book and despite doing this on check in I only had the option to book 2 as the hotel was so full. The corridors to the rooms were not hoovered for days and there was a cigarette butt the cleaners walked past that was there 3 days. Reception staff were mixed with 2 girls lovely but 2 couldn’t crack a smile and were downright rude and unfriendly. My husband even commented on the looks one would give me whenever I was in reception, maybe as I had to complain but I was justified. There was no upgrade available and no late checkout although we did get a room to shower in which was appreciated.
Now it wasn’t all bad, if the management could fix the above the place could be great. The restaurant staff work so hard especially at breakfast but three times we had to wait for a table to be laid as you find your own way so a few days we didn’t bother with breakfast. The staff are overworked here. In the Greek restaurant on a lunchtime however the staff and service were fab as they were in the other 2 speciality restaurants. The service in the Italian was outstanding. The drinks are good quality overall and good staff. Hotel is modern and a good design.

I’m not really sure where to start. The property itself is beautiful. The location is absolutely perfect. Close to a ton. We had a total of 4 rooms. The woman who checked me in, not once did she make eye contact. She said nothing to me other than “here are your room cards”. Got to the room and it was so hot you couldn’t breathe. I called down to the front and was told “well it’s hot out” we had to insist they send somebody up, they fixed the AC. 2 days later, we needed toilet paper, called for 2 days. No one showed up. Found an employee in the hall who went and got me some. House keeping never came. You can tell they were working very hard but short staffed. If they start at 1 end of the hall, 1 day, they should start at the other the next day IMO. The food in the Italian restaurant was terrible. And so was the service. My daughter got reprimanded by the staff for pouring her own water. “It was his job” but yet he was never around. He spent a lot of time at the tables on either side of us. One was getting more alcohol than us, the other spoke the same language he did, and they were joking and laughing and he kept rubbing one of the kids heads!? One elevator was out the whole time, took the stairs mostly because of the rolling power outages. Ate at the Buffet a lot, good selection of food. My favorite employee, Dora. Amazing amenities on the resort with multiple pools, gym area, spa, shops, areas for children, etc. staff were welcoming and friendly and there were many different food options availble. Had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend this resort as it is newly renovated and stunning for Instagram photos

We would highly recommend this hotel to those looking to visit Rhodes and will hopefully be returning in the future. The food, facilities, staff and services were excellent and well thought out. We all really enjoyed our stay and remarked throughout the week that we had picked a really good resort for our break.

Not quite a five star hotel yet. Some of the finishes to the building and decor are very poor, skirting boards hanging off, paths not complete etc. some staff where brilliant but all are far too busy to provide great service. At meals time we often had to clear a table ourselves before we could sit down at it, we had VIP breakfast but the hotel only manage to organise this for 3 out of the 7 days. No availability to book at the a la Carte restaurants. Not enough sun beds leaving families sitting on the floor (or racing at 5:30am to reserve them). Had to ask reception multiple times to sort out simple problems. The website says we’ll stocked mini bar, which is not true, two waters a juice and 3 cans of soft drinks. All in all the hotel is way off five star and simply needs more staff to operate well in my opinion. The spa facilities and kids entertainment are really good though and as a say a few of the staff were brilliant too.

While the property itself was undeniably stunning, there were numerous issues that marred our experience.

Perhaps the most frustrating problem was the lack of hot water. Out of our six-day stay, we had hot water for only two days. This made showering, especially for our children, an uncomfortable and challenging task. Despite repeatedly bringing this concern to the attention of the staff, it seemed as though they simply didn't care. Eventually, we had to escalate the issue to Expedia, and I must commend them for their prompt and efficient assistance.

Another significant letdown was the cleanliness of the room. It was evident that only surface cleaning had been done, as the room barely met basic hygiene standards. Shockingly, the room wasn't cleaned at all for the first two days of our stay. The baseboards were covered in dirt, and the state of the shower was downright appalling. Considering the resort is relatively new, one would expect a greater emphasis on attention to detail and cleanliness. It was evident that the resort was understaffed.

Furthermore, the a la carte booking system proved to be a disappointment. The resort scheduled two dinner for us on the same day, with a mere two-hour gap between them. They couldn't rebook us so we didn't get any value here.

Given the aforementioned shortcomings, I would suggest considering an alternative resort until these issues are rectified. With improvements in these areas, Helea could undoubtedly become a truly exceptional

The hotel and hotel grounds are beautiful. Very modern. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly, very attentive to our needs. Everyone always had a smile on their face. Had a lovely time here. The rooms and grounds were always very clean. The only negative I would mention would be trying to get a reservation at the a la carte restaurants. I wasn’t able to book a single dinner restaurant during my whole 9 day stay. But the all inclusive buffet was excellent, so didn’t bother me too much. Overall, I enjoyed my stay very much. I would definitely consider coming back to Helea, or perhaps even checking out other Ella resorts in other destinations.

A la carta food is great! Very delicious quality
Lots of pool areas to be, if not too windy!

Slides area for kids, water is freezing so ideally you look at the weather before travelling!’

Not so great:
You have to pay to access spa area. €35 for two hours access to inside pool and sauna and so on. If you get a treatment you can get it for free, but these are petty hefty.

If you go outside of hot summer the water in the pools is freezing! No heated Pool for babies or kids.
Indoor pool is heated but no kids allowed.
Buffet food is not the best I have had for a 5* hotel
Very doors are not sound proof so can be loud if people in the hallway are noisy

As stated the facilities are under going renovations. Our room was very nice, king bed and two twins. The restaurants were all very nice and clean. The pools were beautiful.
About 15-20 min by can to the Old City.
Improvements: fix game room. A lot of games were out of service and when questioned, was told it’s an outside company who manages. Either call the company to fix or run your own game room. Also, have money for customers to be able to use the room. The machine is out of coins well then have change at the front desk. Not a big ask.
Should consider having a jacuzzi or two around the grounds. Would have been perfect for watching evening sunset and relaxing when pools are too cold.
Should have waiters on the beach taking drink orders. Big missed opportunity to make easy money.
Last complaint, employees were so loud in the morning right outside your room. If you are in the hall outside guest rooms, save the laughing and joking for outside or away from guest rooms. Had I had a sleeping child, I would not have been pleased.

Overall it was a lovely break away. We booked through hotels.com and as a VIP property were promised an upgrade when available, there was plenty of availability but the hotel didn't seem to know about the perk. So we did upgrade but a few days in so a bit of a hassle and without the room category facilities...a coffee machine. Also hotels.com listed bathtubs in rooms and various restaurants which was wrong information as only showers. We had a few issues also but hotel did try hard to make amends.

Positives:
- Food ...all great variety and enjoyed the restaurants especially the Peruvian
- bus stop to Rhodes Town very easy and frequent
- near airport (tip-grab taxi outside airport at taxi rank approx €32)
- most staff very friendly
- activities really good once located...yoga etc and amazing activities team
- Lovely pool area loads of different loungers/areas

Negatives:
-poor dirty beach...water lush though
- plastic bottled water...would love to see this changed for sustainability
- info online not accurate - things that are not in operation should really have a 'coming soon' and info on hotels.com wrong re facilities

From the time of arrival, the staff were amazing. No request was too small or difficult. The actual hotel is lovely with the sandy beach access, towels and sun lounges surrounded by numerous well maintained swimming pools, making for an idyllic week of relaxation. Beach waitrons on hand to take orders for drinks or food, with only the best natured manners. The buffet catered for all dining requirements whilst the Italian and Greek restaurants on site delivered variety. We chose to make use of the bus service which is just outside the hotel and it provided easy access to Rhodes Town and all other areas of the island. I would happily return to Helea next year.

Barn- och vuxenvänligt hotell på en fantastisk plats. Mycket att både göra och äta för stora och små. Privat strand och rymliga poolpmråden. God mat och flera olika restauranger ingick i all-inclusive. Personalen verkade lite trötta eller sura men var aldrig otrevliga. Lite för hård säng.

Die angegebenen Restaurants waren nur 2 mal zu reservieren und auch da sehr ausgebucht. wir konnten erst am letzten Tag zum Abendessen.
Buffet war oft das selbe. Keine Themen Abende wie Griechische Spezialitäten oder Italienisch usw. Sehr eintönig.
Personal war in Ordnung. Wirkte zum teil unmotiviert.
Cool war das Street food da konnte man immer etwas Snacken wie Crepe Eis oder Burger.
Grossen und Ganzen okay aber eher für ein 4 Sterne

Wir hatten einen insgesamt sehr schönen Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel. Die Anlage ist groß, gepflegt und sehr sauber. Besonders die Pools waren toll und das Meer direkt am Strand war wunderschön. Auch die Zimmer wurden täglich gründlich gereinigt, sodass man sich wirklich wohlfühlen konnte.

Das Personal war überwiegend sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, nur an der Rezeption hatte man manchmal das Gefühl, dass man etwas von oben herab behandelt wird das war etwas schade.

Das Essen war grundsätzlich gut, allerdings fehlte uns etwas die Abwechslung. Die Auswahl war fast jeden Tag gleich, da könnte man auf jeden Fall noch etwas variieren.

Ein kleiner Minuspunkt war außerdem, dass uns am letzten Tag auf dem Balkon eine Kakerlake aus dem Abfluss „besucht“ hat. Zudem hört man in den Zimmern recht deutlich, wenn die Nachbarn ihre Türen schließen das war teilweise sehr laut.

Trotz dieser kleinen Mängel können wir das Hotel aber auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen. Es ist wirklich ein schönes, sauberes und gut gepflegtes Haus, in dem man einen erholsamen Urlaub verbringen kann.

Nous avons été surclassé dans une chambre située dans la partie Adult Only de l’hôtel « Ella » et nous n’avons pas regretté. Cette partie de l’hôtel est extrêmement calme avec des restaurants et services de haute qualité. L’hôtel n’était pas si vide que ça à en voir le nombre de personnes au petit déjeuner, mais il le semblait pourtant tout le reste de la journée pour notre plus grand plaisir.
Le personnel est au petit soin pour votre rendre votre séjour parfait et ce peu importe les services. La formule tout inclus vous donne accès à des restaurant « à la carte » là aussi de très bonne qualité.
La chambre était spacieuse et très propre avec une magnifique vue sur la piscine et la mer.
Nous n’hésiterions pas à revenir dans cet hôtel si nous sommes de nouveau de passage à Rhodes.
