The location is very convenient, but the hygiene outside hotel building was horrible - lots of trash and very dirty. The entrance to the hotel building was hiding inside a market place and the lift was very filthy. The building itself also very scary.

Have a great stay. Very comfortable bed. I stayed in a no windows room but Love the bathtub. Entrance to the hotel is a bit tricky, have to pass thru a small alley beside the mall to get to the lift to get to 6th floor. Does not have clear direction.

This was overall a good stay, given the economic price. The hotel occupies a floor in an office building, and is difficult to find. Like most hotels in Taiwan, the staff spoke almost no English. However, they were very friendly and patient and willing to work with English -speaking clients. Staff was very professional and helpful in spite of the language barrier. The area outside is a bit sketchy for Taiwan, but it was still safe, overall. I would be careful about eating in any of the small hole-in-the-wall restaurants immediately outside the hotel, as some are unsanitary and have rodent problems. Note that the hotel itself is clean and they have no control over the nearby restaurants.Overall, still an okay choice to stay here.

The staff were very courteous and polite and they helped me when I had questions or concerns. I was well pleased with their service and kindness.
To anyone not familiar with the area, particularly westerners like myself, the hotel may appear to be in a dangerous location and it is a little tricky to find the entrance but it was not the case and eventually felt and realized it was safe and the food vendors cooked some tasty meals! I would recommend staying here to anyone and will come back again if I come back to Taiwan.

The hotel is a bit hard to find.
Has a weird entrance inside an alley filled with food stalls.
After you get up to the elevator and into the lobby, it looks like a regular hotel.
The rooms are spacious and clean. My room had a musty smell but I was able to exchange room.

Staff were helpful.
There are no soap, shower caps, tooth brushes provided. Just water.

The staff also need to monitor the hall way noise better. You can hear people talking, laughing, speaking on the phone at all hours of the night. I was woken up 3 nights in a row at 3 AM.

Plenty of eateries and shopping around.
Excellent price.
Recommend highly except for the noise.

The hotel is located on the 6&7 floor of a building that did not look and feel safe outside of the premises. But the inside of the hotel is clean and business-like atmosphere. The front desk clerk was very helpful and professional.

Great location but the walls and the windows are paper thin. We stayed on the 6th floor and can still hear all of the conversations and sneezes on the streets. There was also couple of mosquitoes everyday in our room. The sheets didn’t seem to be changed but instead just tucked away daily, our sheets had weird blood looking stains on them and when there were replaced it was a different stain. The shopping area across the street is a good time but it’s always very loud and weekends have a loud concert going on. There was also a matter of the staff not saying anything to loud neighbors on the floor. Besides the negatives, the staff were nice and the cleaning ladies are doing a great job cleaning fast, the shower and towels were always clean. Will most likely not be staying here again as there are plenty of better options out here.

Like many others have said, this property is loud, moldy, and the area around it isn't great. There were mosquitos in my room and you can hear everything that is said or done in the adjacent rooms, including talking until 3AM and 5AM hair blow-drying.

The Healthy Residence is essentially next door, but is much nicer, safer and has free breakfast. I would strongly recommend it over this place.

Hotel is in a great area that is right across the street from a mall so shopping and food is very accessible. In the room the AC was excellent, shower pressure was great. The cons: safe did work, mini fridge did not work, an unplugged broken working lamp was in the room and took up space, and there was no soap in the bathroom sink. Despite all the cons, I would still recommend this hotel.

We were there as a family of 4 for 2 nights. Not sure if there was another entrance, but, we came in on the side where the elevator is back in an area where we didn’t expect it. You had to go between 2 buildings and approximately 25 yards back is where the elevator was. I was expecting it to be closer to the street. The front desk clerk was very nice and helpful. Our check-in was less than 5 mins. First time in a room where you had to step up to get on the platform/floor to get to the bathroom & shower. We tripped a few times but didn’t injure ourselves. You just need to be careful stepping up. Overall the stay was nice.

Everything was great. I found 4 nights-stay with my first earthquake incident is well-handled with the real friendly attitude. The staffs were totally helpful, completely supportive and nice though-out my stay. Of course, with this affordable price; the unpleasant hotel entrance can be looked-over - it takes you only 2-5 minutes to get in, since lobby, service, the room was good with all facilities you ever needed.

Don’t let the outside appearance distract you. Once you find the alley off the major main street just go about 25 feet (food vendor/space/food vendor) - turn into space area (neon sign overhead). Go another 20 feet past the sleepy dog and you’ll see two elevators (one on left is a little nicer - but both work fine). Go to 6th floor. As you step out of elevator turn left toward the lobby counter. The place was extremely quiet. Room was really nice for price. A/C worked well and was also really quiet (may take an hour to get desired temp and humidity) be patient - my room was great. Even had window overlooking the major street ( street sounds did not bother me at all). Rain shower head as well as hand held. Hot water was fantastic. Bed was super comfortable (like 10 inch mattress. Clean pristine sheets and coverlet. Pillows and covers also pristine. No bidet. Small refrigerator was ok. Electric hot water kettle worked great. Lobby staff and housekeeping were very courteous. Was a pleasant surprise inside - and then quickly realized exterior was just normal for neighborhood - safe and busy and older. Would definitely stay again. I think a reviewer mentioned it was like a business person stopover hotel. Only con: no laundry (so old fashioned hand washing 😊) Easy access to all buses and can get to train using bus. Convenience stores and good old Mcdonald’s nearby too.

The hotel is great and clean. Just that the lift heading to this hotel can be random and challenging for some coz it’s right under busy eateries and the lift was just located in a place that looks like storage! No clear marking of the hotel too and mostly the writing is in Chinese. But besides this, I find the room is Ok. And considering it’s peak season, the price is ok. Near the train station too.

If there was a reason for me to stay here again, it would be because of the area. I love ppl and there's no shortage of people at all hours of the day. I stayed at 2 other locations afterwards, and they don't come close. So if you're into public fishing like me, this place is a hotspot!

All sorts of transportation are available on almost every single corner. Endless foodstalls, even some late night ones right outside the elevator.

There are countless restaurants and handful of department stores so plenty to keep you busy for days.

This is very comfortable hotel. The beds and bathrooms are clean and modern. The air conditioning was excellent. We didn’t always have hot water for the shower but given the heat and weather, we didn’t mind. Hotel staff are great. Convenient to many things.

Very clean, staff is friendly they held our luggage past checkout so we can walk around the city with no issues, no foreigners in site so you get to do what the locals are doing. Everyone is welcoming and will assist you in navigating the busy crosswalks and traffic around the area. So many shops and hangout spots within walking distance. Easy to catch a cab, 30min from airport. Food is excellent.

Elevator to hotel, 6F is on the side, perpendicular to the main road. Don’t expect it to be clear. The “pathway” is lined with a few food vendors, so depends on what you are used to, is not so clean. Room and bathroom feels clean, but floor in the bathroom feels sticky. Staff is helpful, and we checked in without a hitch. Checked in around 11pm.

Had an excellent one night stay here.

The hotel is walking distance from the train station. The entrance is a little hard to find. It’s down an alley. The elevator up to the hotel is behind several food stalls. I say look for a big neon sign that says HOTEL as you get closer.

Hotel is located on the 6 and 7th floor with the reception on the 6th.
The “lobby” is basic but functional.

The rooms are very large for Taipei. Clean, modern, and very inexpensive. Excellent mattress. For some reason, hand soaps weren’t provided, ? Oversight. I did get them from the reception.

The location of the hotel is wonderful. It’s near everything!
The Hotel can arrange taxi service to the airport for 650 NTD.

No breakfast but food is everywhere.
Wish I was staying longer. Will definitely come back for a longer stay next time.

Not that good. I thought the property is close to the airport but not true (20 to 30 minutes away). The name got me confused. I might have confused with city suites gateway which is near the airport.

Also, the place is hard to find. The hotel occupies only two floors of a building so the front does not look like a hotel.

We only stayed one night but the bathroom got flooded when I took a shower. The only saving grace is the room is inexpensive and the hotel staff was helpful.

However, the staff is helpful and friendly. Noise proofing of the room is poor. Can hear the noise and talking happening above and outside of the room. The shower area needs thorough cleaning. Mould creeping on the wall and flooring even on door trap.
Ok for one night layover.

only good thing was comfortable bed & spacious room/toilet.
hotel was difficult to find. had to go through a dark smoked filled dirty area, with old men on slot machines, to access the lift lobby. there were no signages outside to guide. though hotel had strict no smoking regulation, even threathening to fine guests who smoked in rooms, my wife & I had to endure 2 nights of cigarette smoke seeping into our room through the extractor system. on 3rd day we had no choice but to request for change of room which hotel accomodated. walls of room also very thin. our sleep was disturbed by noise and movements from next room guests, even a puppy barking and its scratching

Really nice room with all the required amenities in a good location 5 minutes from Taoyuan station. 30 minutes on the express train to Taipei station.

Location was slightly difficult to find first time round but not impossible if you keep looking for the blue city suites sign.

Can be relatively loud throughout the evening due to other selfish guests and the constant Xmas music played throughout the corridors ALL evening.

Would definitely stay again if they turned off the Xmas music at a reasonable time.
