everything was outdated. whether it’s a common rooms or inside the rooms, lights flickered a lot. small pillows for kind bed, not what i expected and when i compare to the marriott hotel i stayed at the night before, this was not comparable at all. would not stay at a holiday inn again, staff were really nice just unfortunate they work at this hotel.

Great one-night stay

Perfect hotel for our one night stay. Front desk staff was welcoming and quickly told us everything we needed to know. Room was very clean, and bed was quite comfortable. Coffee and water (both hot and cold) were available in the breakfast area 24 hours a day. Hotel was about a 30+ min drive to TPE airport in morning rush hour traffic. Hotel close to 7-11 and a Domino’s Pizza as well which worked for a quick dinner.

I had a very brief, but wonderful stay at the Holiday Inn Express Taoyuan. I had arrived early to Taoyuan at 11AM, and although the official check-in time is at 3PM, the recepcionist (Ann, I think was her name) was kind enough to check with housekeeping to corroborate if a room was ready so that I could have an early check-in. Fortune was on my side and I had a quick and easy early check-in. The breakfast area is small, but offers a variety of Taiwanese and Western food items, with beverages like tea and coffee and some cookies available 24/7. If you are looking for a meal, nearby you will find restaurants (there is a Japanese grill right across the street) and the always trusty 7 Eleven. Carrefour is also some blocks away. The room was spacious enough for my stay, the bathroom (with bidet) and shower clean, and the shower also has a line to hang your clothing if you decide to wash it.
If you are gym rat, the hotel's fitness room is located on the second floor, but you won't find much equipment inside the small room: a treadmill, a stationary bike, a pair of light dumbbells, a grip trainer, a lacrosse massage ball, a mat, plenty of bottled water, towels, bathroom, and shower. Not sure if they have another fitness room for another guest to work out at the same time.
The staff at the front desk and at the breakfast service was kind and attentive. They even helped me call a taxi to the airport. Overall I would recommend this hotel to friends.

Nice Taoyuan hotel but not that close to airport

Staff is very welcoming, Room design is good for 1 person, very tight space for 2 single beds. The frosted glass bathroom reflects light through out the entire room. Makes this tough for a couple that needs to use the facilities in the middle of the night. Shortage of bedside electrical plugs was difficult. We have stayed in several rooms over new years holiday. The hotel is a redo building in a Y shaped building with both sides facing traffic. Not for light sleepers. Even being in TaoYuan (airport city) is a misnomer because it is not actually that close. Cost to get to airport - no shuttle is NT$600 by taxi while Northern Taipei districts are NT$1000 mon a fly away express road There is a city bus to main rail station in Taipei for NT$71 across the road and decent convenience stores around.. If you can find availability, its probably easier to stay in Central (ZhongYang), Taipei Rail station, ZhongSan or NangGang districts

Room is small but compensated with free breakfast and the bidet in the bathroom. It also isn't sound proof, both from a traffic sense as well as the door opening/closing & corridor conversations.

However it just feels like it's in the middle of no where! Well, situated amongst tyre shops and car mechanics! It's a good 20-30 minute cab ride to the HSR, and 10-20 minute to Taiyuan train station area.

TaoYuan Taiwan’s new HEI.

Hotel is modern and carved out of a very tight urban triangle. It is convenient and walkable. Close to a city bus’to central Taipei main station. Service is exceptional as staff bend over backwards to make the best of the tight space. The rooms are standard floor print for intl HEI new builds. The bathroom is completely frosted glass, so when the light comes on, everyone in the room is woken up. Not conducive to shared space. The rooms facing BOTH front streets can be noisy at night. Light sleepers should opt for very high floor. The breakfast room was overflowing an hour before cut off. Good for short stays.

Wifi good, good size room, amenities, good shower and comfy bed. The floor may need a wet wiping, I realized only when I saw the back of the slipper. Breakfast a bit cramped area. Overall comfortable stay.

In a very local place. Very friendly and nice stuff. Would recommend to anyone! One thing is that if you need to go to Taipei, the bus is not frequent, and buses have limited seats. Also, it is not allowed to stand on the bus if the bus has no seats left, so you will need to wait until the next one, which can be a 20-30-minute wait. But I had a great experience in Taipei and Taoyuan. Polite and patient people make it a great place to visit!

The hotel is conveniently located where dinning, shopping, and massage are within walking distance. The room was clean. The wall socket allowed me to use my US appliance. The toilet was equipped with a Toto bidet. TRESemme bath soap, shampoo, conditioner, and hand soap were abundantly provided. Complimentary breakfast had a great variety of Asian and western food selection. The front desk staff are friendly, professional, and their English is excellent. I had no problem communicating with them. I had an appointment on the morning of the check-out day and was afraid that I might not come back in time to check-out before the check-out time. They told me not to worry and gave me a grace period of 30-40 mins.

It's in a bit of an odd location as it's about 15-20mins from the major transport locations (Taoyuan airport, HSR Station, and the nearest subway station) but worth a visit. Very clean, friendly and pleasant stay. Breakfast was also nice though limited I guess due to my stay overlapped with the Coronavirus scare so they had to make some changes but still nice.

Staff was kind enough to ask if I needed a taxi and even scheduled a time to call one for me in the morning.

I had to check out at 6:00 am in order to catch an early flight. The front desk told me I wouldn't be able to make it for breakfast when I asked to book my 6am taxi pick up. They prepared a sandwich, juice, an apple and my coffee for me. The next morning at 6am they called my room when the taxi got there, handed my breakfast bag when I checked out. This is a very nice touch.

going downhill quickly

Have stayed here a number of times when I have early flight out of Taipei airport. In the past was always fine. For business style hotel, I expect easy check-in/out, clean room and good internet. Starting out the hotel had increased the room rate from the Hotels booking. The room was clean, but the hotel's internet would not function. The Printer in the lobby has not been operational since my last visit months ago, so to print a boarding pass you need to send the link to the hotel desk, which is a pain , and also sacrificing a bit of privacy. After my last call to see if they could fix the internet for my room, II gave up and went to sleep for an early wake-up. I did get a call at 11 pm, waking me, asking me if I wanted to now change rooms to another floor that had working internet! Next time I will simply get up a little earlier and grab the HSR up if possible.

First of all, the hotel is located at a junction so it's very easy to find. It has its own building unlike other hotels that share one.

At the reception, the staff is very helpful. They speak English well and are very willing to assist you with your needs just like getting a taxi, asking for directions, or even reserving a meeting room.

The rooms are pretty nice with a wall-to-wall window that gives it a very comforting view. The bed and pillows are soft and comfortable. The bathroom is so-so. There is a shared door bathroom and and the shower area. The toilet doesn't come with a bidet and the water takes a while to heat up. The free toiletries are convenient though.

Breakfast is average. The spread has rice, 2-3 meat viands and about 2 veggies. There are sliced fruits, salad, yogurt, flowing juice and coffee.

The best thing about the hotel is service. I decided to extend my stay for another night and they arranged for me to stay in the same room even if they are fully booked. The only drawback I could think of is it's not close enough to any train station. You will need to take a 10-min taxi ride for about 100 NTD to Taoyuan station. However, outside the hotel is a bus stop that can take you to and from Taipei for about 65 NTD. Had a very pleasant stay overall.
