No heat, we were freezing. No hot water, we couldn’t take a shower. We had to cut short our vacation. Also, the pool is not heated and there is no spa.

The bedroom looked really good, and also the private hot tub.
What let it down was the wifi was not working which i mentioned 3 rimes but nothing got done to resolve. Same forvthe tv and fridge.

Good location, especially if you are after something quiet. Easy bus connections to other parts of the Island i:e Thira and Perissa. Staff are really helpful and friendly and always approachable when needed. Especially hotel manager Christopher and his team. Important to keep in mind the location is on an uphill in the village therefore is not adaptable to anyone with mobility needs. Otherwise on a positive note hotel has the best views of the island.

This was definitely not a luxury hotel. Rooms and amenities were very poor. It did not remind a five star property. The staff however were very friendly and tried to keep you happy. Also the location and view were very good.

We really enjoyed our stay at this unique property. However it would have been nice to know in advance that there was a donkey to get our luggage up the many stone steps to the hotel which is not accessible by vehicle. We had a cave house room which was incredible. Breakfast was wonderful and the staff was incredibly accommodating. Views from hotel were breathtaking.

Fab hotel with very helpful staff

Great hotel with a big nice breakfast in the morning, brought to room at no extra charge. The private jacuzzi was nice but would recommend getting the one with the view rather than enclosed courtyard, not much privacy from neighbours. Staff were exceptionally helpful and rang up whoever we needed to sort things out for next day (boat trips, car rental, etc). Really enjoyed our stay!

This hotel has the potential to be a 5-star property, but with current management and attitude it is 3-star at best, so it is quite disappointing because they set your expectations so high. We stayed only 2 nights and ran into the following litany of issues:
- When we arrived back to our room at 6pm the first day, nobody had cleaned our room. We were told the cleaning lady had \"broken her leg.\" We later saw the manager of the hotel running around with cleaning supplies. There were a total of 2-3 people on the property pretending to run a high-end operation.
- There is nobody at the front desk most of the time, so it is impossible to get service promptly. When we arrived by cab at night nobody picked up the phone at the front desk when we called.
- The hotel is a 10 minute walk uphill from nearest parking lot, up stairs, so very difficult to get to for most travellers with baggage. To survive in this location, the hotel needs to be arranging pick-up for all of its arrivals and to have an army of bellboys on staff to ferry bags
- We had a \"Superior Suite with Jetted tub.\" After talking to manager we found out that the superior suite is their smallest room, and that the jetted tub is actually located directly next to another room and shared. Ridiculous.
- Hotel location is incorrectly listed in Google Maps, and when I tried emailing the hotel to confirm its location, I never received a response from anyone
- No toilet paper in bathroom of the breakfast area
- Poor breakfast

Different experience, beautiful view.

This is generally a nice place on top of the hill in picturesque and very pleasant village of Pyrgos. If one does not like or cannot climb a steep hill this is probably not a hotel to stay. Value for money is questionable unless you get lucky like us to get an upgrade but even then this is not a five star hotel as we know it.

Really enjoyed this firs trip to Santorini. We wanted quiet but with quick access and we got it. The cave rooms are so quiet and the staff is awesome, breakfast is perfect and and and - well you will have to try it yourself! Also see the art by Edlim there. Carved fish from very old wine caskets. The view from the pool is great also - you can watch the sunset and see Thira and Oia all in one. It is a little hike up several steps to the hotel. But worth it. Make sure to call ahead so they can meet you at the ramp and take your bags up for you. So nice!!!

Taxi driver didn't advise on how to reach to the hotel so clearly (the area where he couldn't drive obviously)
So we lost our way to the hotel near midnight and I panicked for 45 min or so til we were found. Hotel should arrange a pick up for their foreigner guests maybe?
Hotel is lovely
But the fact that it's an old house (well maintained) meant that the toilet smell was overwhelming the suite. Maybe more freshners? Other than that. Truly awesome choice for lovely pyrgos

* breakfast can be served outside your room- no extra charge
* chef made fresh pastries for breakfast as had run out- not experienced that anywhere else.-fab
* cute bar with great views next door to hotel
* friendly Staff-always aiming to please
* 10 min drive to capital-fira 10 euros in cab
*15 min drive to beach resort Kamari- black beaches
* Oia a must do visit but 30/40 min drive

Terrible location

This hotel is in an ultra high hill. They use a donkey to bring your luggage to the room.
You of course need to climb there. A workout every time. Hotel is far from Fira and Oia.
Need a rental car to move around or pay expensive taxis.
Stay in Oia or Fira.

Beautiful hotel in every way

Beautiful hotel with friendly staff. One of the nicest aspects was the relaxed atmosphere, including a distinct absence of those petty hotels rules such as \"breakfast between 8 & 10\" or \" must vacate your room by a certain time\". Excellent staff who were very helpful and made our stay that much more enjoyable- a real find!

Superb hotel in Pyrgos - Santorini

Lovely Island, great hotel and superb staff who made the holiday exceptional.

I am lucky enough to have travelled all around the world and stayed in some great and not so great hotels. Zannos is one of the best and most of this down to the team who work there and treated me and my wife so well. The service is personal, friendly and at the same time low key. Its not fussy, pretentious or fawning and all in all it just works so well.

Whoever is the owner of this hotel needs to give their staff a big a big thank you and a nice
bonus.

We didn't want to leave and recommend it highly - 5 stars

I am a tough critic.

I have spent nights at hotels all over the world. This place was awesome. View of Santorini is fantastic. Sunset was breath taking. Best service of any hotel that I have been in in some time. Definitely would stay there again. It isn't in Fira, if that is where you want to stay. The front desk helped us rent bicycles, which apparently isn't something tourists do in Santorini. We loved it: We biked all over the island.
The surrounding neighborhood was lovely. Tour buses bring tourists from Fira and other parts of the island to visit, wander the alleyways etc. We didn't need a tour bus because that was where we already were!

First Class \"Cave\"

The hotel was awesome and this was the best room I ever stayed in - a \"new cave\" that was huge and really impressive.

The food was overpriced and \"ok\", but the people were, if anything, overly attentive.

warning: Be sure to arrange for the donkeys to get your bags. We took a cab and my poor husband had to carry over 200 lbs of luggage straight up the steps (about 8 blocks). They called him a \"hero\"

Best hotel in Santorini

We have been delighted and had a great time at Zannos Melathron. Alexander, the hotel manager, is a great host. All the staff there was really nice and friendly.
The bedroom was very comfortable and clean. The breakfast menu is impressive and the food is of very good quality. Have dinner there, you will not regret it! The chef is amazing. The view from the breakfast/dinner area is stunning.
The location of the hotel, in Pyrgos, is ideal to travel around the island.
We have been very pleased and would surely choose Zannos Melathron again if we were to come back to Santorini.

My husband and I would absolutely recommend this hotel. Great service, wonderful location away from the crowded tourist seaport of Fira, and charming neighborhood. Very romantic. I would also recommend renting a car to explore the island at your own pace.

Can't wait to go back. Fantastic.

We arrived from the sleepy island of Folegandros to the port and hustle and bustle of Santorini harbour, but were very quickly whisked away to the lovely hotel which was peaceful, calm and our idea of paradise. We were greeted by a donkey to carry our luggage up to the village, then shown the hotel and its facilities by attentive and smiling staff, who spoke great English and told us all about the hotel and its history.

The room was gorgeous, so rather than taking advantage of the lovely dinner menu, we enjoyed our last night of holiday with room service, and DVD's in our luxury accommodation. Very decadant.

We went early in the season, so there were only a few other guests, which made us feel more special, we had the pool to ourselves, the spa area and sun terraces, and a '3 course' breakfast, which was included in the price, when we wanted.

The reason we chose it in the first place was because it was very convenient as a last night stayover, from the port to the airport, and the hotel arranged a transfer bus for both trips. It didn't feel like a stop over hotel at all, though i would use it as such again. It was a real treat, though not our usual choice of hotel, and something i would reccommend to all.

工事中とかの一時的な理由ではありましたが、WiFiがなく、旅行者には致命的でした。お部屋は素敵でしたが、扉の鍵がうまく回らず、出入りのたびにホテルの人をよんで、鍵をあけてもらっていたので、ちょっと面倒でした。

Pas de fenêtre dans la chambre, ni la SDB,pas de vue depuis la chambre, propreté des murs très moyenne, car plein de poussières,lavabo bouché, eau chaude très limite, pas possible de faire 2 shampooing, sèche cheveux obsolète. Eigentlich bewerte ich sehr ungern negativ, aber ich denke, man sollte doch ehrlich mit uns Gästen sein und im Prospekt nicht eine 5* Sterne Welt suggerieren, die es nicht gibt.
Im übrigen ist das Hotel auf keinen Fall für fußkranke oder herzkranke Menschen zu empfehlen, da es nur über Treppen zu erreichen ist,

Hotel liegt sehr schön, Gebäude aussen renoviert und ansprechend.
Dann aber -zumindest bei unserem Zimmer - kein Fenster, kein Balkon - keine Aussicht. Das Zimmer war ein Schlauch mit Gewölbe unter dem man schläft. Tageslicht kommt nur durch eine Luke in der Tür, die man jedoch auch schließen mußte, da sonst die anderen Gäste in das Zimmer schauen können.
Es war wie in einer Höhle - wer es mag?! Nach der Beschreibung im Hotelprospekt des Eigentümers und auch des Anbieter war dies nicht ersichtlich. Die Einrichtung schlicht, das WC und Bad aus den 70ern, die Messingarmaturen nicht gepflegt, sondern mit Patina und Kalkablagerungen, die Duschtrennwand nicht gereinigt. Die angebliche Küche hatte überhaupt kein Geschirr und kein Besteck, lediglich einen Wasserkocher, einen Kühlschrank und Herdplatten ----wofür?

Was gefallen hat, war der Koffer-Transport Service mit dem Esel, der reibungslos funktionierte.
Der Abholservice war auch nötig, da man a) das Hotel nicht auf Anhieb finden würde,
b) die vielen Treppen das Kofferschleppen zur Strapaze machen würde.

Beim Frühstück gab es das Gedeck, Nachbestellung von Brot ! war nicht möglich - \"it is not in the account\"

Atendimento impecável, hotel charmoso

Nota 10 ao atendimento. Fizeram com que nos sentíssemos em casa. Hotel confortável e charmoso. Quarto bem cuidado, porém simples e chuveiro pode nao esquentar muito bem (chave de luz cai...) Mas comunicamos e recepçao e prontamente solucionaram o problema (sugiro que isso seja explicado ANTES ao hóspede). Um detalhe: não havia telefone em nosso quarto. Para contato com recepçao, apenas indo pessoalmente... Importante: a chegada ao hotel é uma simpática subida (escadas e rampas tipicamente gregas). O acesso aos quartos também por escadas e rampas. Se você tiver algum problema físico que impeça caminhadas... prefira outro hotel. Caso contrário... desfrute de todo o charme e atendimento VIP que o hotel proporciona.

Einzigartig!

Es war super! Wir können es nur weiter empfehlen.
Das einzige waren die Treppen. Das Hotel ist wirklich ganz oben auf dem Hügel und die Treppen hat man einfach vor sich wenn man geht und wenn man kommt. Da wir aber beide solche Ort schätzen war das für uns ein Bagatelle. Für jemand wo nicht gut zu Fuss ist, ist dies nicht zu empfehlen.
Es war bombastisch! Das Frühstück wurde jeden Tag frisch zubereitet mit einem so genialen Überblick über die ganze Insel.
Um das Hotel hat es viele versteckte kleine Restaurants, günstig und oben drauf gut. Der Sonnenuntergang konnten wir jeden Abend geniessen.
Was auch noch toll war, wir waren so in etwa mitten auf der Insel. Mit dem Bus sind wir jeden Tag an einem anderen Strand gelandet. So konnten wir die Insel voll erkunden.
Es waren einer von unseren besten Urlaube je. Vladimir, der Manager, war sehr aufmerksam und wenn irgendwie was nicht stimmte war er immer da zum helfen.
Wir gehen auf jeden Fall wieder mal hin.

Grazioso hotel gestito molto male

Le parti comuni si trovano in una villa del '700 di grande charme ed arredata con cura. Le camere sono invece molto umide (incredibilmente umide) ed arredate in modo molto cheap. Nei bagni la plastica la fa da padrona (water/copriwater/mensoline varie), livello Pensione Anita.
