I reserved and paid for my stay through Hotels.com yet received an additional checkout bill for taxes. This was not disclosed to me at checkin and I do not have an explanation for the additional charges. Other than that, the facilities and stay were fine. The 24/7 airport shuttle is a valuable amenity.

Friendly staff. Our room had a weird musty smell and the temp was hard to regulate. The bathroom door wouldn't stay open. The sink in the bathroom kept clogging and the shower door wouldn't close. The bed was pretty worn in. This property could definitely use some attention.

Walking in the lobby the room was very hot and reeked of mold. Got to our room and walked in & stepped on glass. Floor felt gritty and not clean. Inside room temperature was okay and controlled, but rest of hotel like a steam room. When I asked front desk clerk about it, she just shrugged her shoulders & told me she had no idea what the problem was. The group of 4 of us could not even eat breakfast without sweating.
We asked for a room with mountain view & informed none available. We were right over the highway. Very loud and noisy. Poor sleep. Horrible experience.

The lobby, hallway, and elevator had a subtle smell of weed, but our room reeked of it. We were moved to another room as requested, but the front desk person acted indifferent and didn’t seem to care or apologize. The second room had a lamp with the lightbulb dangling from the socket, and there was a big bug on our pillow, of which I have photos.
When we checked out early the next morning, the front desk person never acknowledged us or inquired how our stay was.

Mixed feelings about this stay. Staff were fine, and breakfast was decent. However, as a handicapped person, I found the room not very functional. It was small, and had no shower chair in the bathroom, although otherwise the bathroom was accessible.
My biggest problem was the bed. Why are hotels doing beds so high that you need a ladder to get into them!? This one broke the record, it was up to my waist! I ended up scrunching onto this weird lounger piece of furniture, to sleep. I just can’t see any reason for beds to be on these high platforms, and as a handicapped person I sure couldn’t access this one!

I came from out of toen for my grandmothers funeral and the hot water didnt work and had to be moved three times and that still was not good enough for a hot shower . We spoke to the front desk and no typ of compensation was giving jut an apology smh.

We requested room service for three consecutive nights. We were away from the hotel for at least 10–16 hours each day, leaving early every morning. I returned each night and complained to the front desk because we had to request additional towels daily. Each time, I was told, “No problem, I’ll make sure it’s done tomorrow.” Unfortunately, we never received room service during the entirety of our trip.

The only problem is with most hotels as well; if these are non-smoking rooms, they should also include any form of marijuana. We had to smell it in the lobby, elevator, and hallway on our departing trip stay. Fortunately, it wasn't the case during our arrival trip stay. Despite the state having voted for it, it is still against federal law.

the room was tidy and clean, and the staff was helpful when my keycard stopped working. the shower door was a bit wonky but easy to figure out and breakfast was a little sad. overall a pretty nice place to stay for a few days, even though its right next to the airport i didn't hear any planes, the noise level was manageable. i would stay here again.

The hotel was conveniently located a short distance from DTW and offered a free shuttle service. Check-in was quick and easy, and the room was clean, comfortable, and very quiet. The bed was especially comfortable, and the shower was excellent. While the hotel does not have its own restaurant, the nearby Marriott is within walking distance and has a good restaurant. The complimentary breakfast was decent as well. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and affordable place to stay near the Detroit airport.

All the staff except for the overnight person was very helpful and kind. At 5 in the morning and have 4 guest leaving and 2 new group guest coming in seemed overwhelming for a solo staff person at the front desk

The lobby did smell like marijuana, but my room did not. It was a one night stay when I went to a concert in downtown Detroit, so the location and price were important.

The property was clean, and the staff was excellent, would stay there again, the only issue is when I booked it said parking was included and when I got there it was not. We were leaving our car for a few days while we went on vacation so we needed parking. I even called the hotel number to confirm the day before and they said yes. When I asked the front lobby attendant she let me know that unfortunately Expedia has been saying parking is included when it isn't and the phone number I called was an Expedia number not theirs as there was no Latoya that worked at that hotel. The lobby attendant was able to provide a good rate for my parking but I choose that hotel as the parking was to be included, and then this became an extra cost. La Quinta is excellent, Expedia dropped the ball on this one.

i would never return to this hotel. i did not feel safe. i had a bug in the bathroom and stains on my comforter. and the man who checked in me made me extremely uncomfortable. i double locked my door for additional security because of how uneasy he made me feel. staff smoked so much right at the entrance that i thought it was a smoking property. it was so unclean that i didn’t even bother trying breakfast because i knew it couldn’t be sanitary based on how dirty the property was. never again.

Short stay, our flight was changed to an early 6 am, so we basically showered and slept. A few funky smells on our way from lobby to room but our room was just fine and comfy. The hall was a bit noisy when people walked past, talking. We put a towel along the bottom of door to minimize noise. Took the 4 am shuttle without any issues. Would stay again for morning flights.

At this hotel in order to get to the airport. Driver was 10 minutes late. Noticed old fixtures with a scary lighting fixture that was rusting out. At first glance, I thought it was mold. One table lamp didn't work. On the morning of check out, there was a huge water leak coming from under the sink. The night before, I had noticed a dry water mark on the shelf below. So this leak had been there for a while with no attention. Staff were very responsive and hotel smelled and was clean.

The staff was very nice and very helpful. The facilities are a bit dated, but the rooms are ok. The room was very, very clean and that helps a lot.
The shuttle to and from the airport is very convenient. At the airport you just have to make sure it’s the right one, cause apparently even though it might say La Quinta on the side, one of the shuttles doesn’t go there.
Breakfast was ok quality with various options.
Sufficient free parking at the facilities.
Overall convenient stay.

The staff was amazing super helpful. Breakfast was a surprise, biscuits and gravy, bagels, french toast and even bacon and fresh fruit. The shuttle call, when I got off the plane, the girl was a bit rude and told me to call back when I got outside, which I walked the 3 minutes to the outside and called back and she said he is on his way and hung up. I then waited for over 35 minutes for the shuttle to get there. BUT THE REST OF THE GROUP WAS STELLER!
