Splendid grand building and beautiful great hall with tasteful classical decorations. A good base to stay for visiting Rylal Palace of Caserta. Staff are friendly and professional. Room is clean, quite and comfortable. After extremely tense sometimes chaotic driving and parking in Sorrento-Amalfi region it was a huge relief to park in hotel's wide open courtyard!

This hotel was amazing, the inside of the hotel was beautiful and the room we had was very spacious, with a jetted bathtub/shower combo. There weŕe also light switches by the bed on both sides to turn on/off all the lights in the room which was extremely convenient. The dining at the hotels restaurant for dinner and for the breakfast buffet were both extremely delicious. The hotel was in an industrial area, nowhere near the center of naples, but for a quick stop on our way back north to get some rest before flying home, this hotel was exactly what we needed. The building was starting to show its age, but none of that detracted from how amazing our stay was. The spa services provided were top notch and exactly what we needed after a long vacation filled with constant walking. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that needs a night in and a spa day to wrap up a vacation, it was amazing.

We loved our stay here! After 20h of travel, the spa was a life saver. It was open until 9pm which was a nice surprise, and had amazing amenities. Sauna with herbs, steam room, pool, hot tub, spa showers, etc.

The room was simple (we booked the standard room with 2h spa), but it was great for the one-night we were here. The hotel is gorgeous and the staff were super friendly and helpful. I’d definitely recommend if you are wanting to stop somewhere near Naples airport for a night before heading out to your destination.

The building is kind of out dated. I can imagine that this hotel had its glorious day. The decoration is classy and nice looking. However, the entry gate is hard to find and seem like the area is not that safe comparative. However, the food for the dining is very tasty but the breakfast is too common and quality is not to the top grade. Internet is kind of slow.

This is a great hotel--staff are attentive, the rooms are comfortable, and their restaurant serves excellent food and a wonderful breakfast buffet (everything from eggs to meats to pancakes to yogurt to pastries). It is conveniently located 10 minutes or so from the train station and royal palace. One negative is the street hustlers in the area washing car windshields, etc. In short, you're not going to take a walk around the neighborhood. However, the hotel is like a little fortress with locked gates all around. You feel safe and at-home inside. For the price, I highly recommend Grand Hotel Vanvitelli.

Perfect spot for Royal Palace visit

If you want to visit the Caserta Royal Palace ( a must) one should stay at the Vanvitelli. A beautiful hotel, great spacious rooms. Great bathrooms, a terrific restaurant, bar and also a really good spa to soothe the traveler.
We will definitely bring family and friends here again!

A fine stay. Parking was terrible at arrival as there was a business convention on the property. But once those folks departed, no issues. Hotel was quite clean and well maintained. Very comfortable bed. No noise from outside traffic. The impressive lobby could use additional AC, but not uncomfortable. On site restaurant was very professional, but the food was not up to par for the surroundings. Not bad, but expected something more. Front desk staff all very pleasant and tolerated a non-Italian speaking American. The surrounding neighborhood is dingy; lots of trash scattered about, but the hotel property within the fence was very well maintained. I wouldn’t go outside the property after sunset; couple of restaurants within walking distance, but bring a friend. Easy access to the Palace from the hotel; straight shot, no more than ten minutes by car.

We were unable to stay here because of unforeseen circumstances. I called the hotel to ask for a partial refund or full refund 48 hours before our stay. They told me to message them which I did and they never responded. The way it was handled was very sad. I’m still awaiting a response from the property.

This property was being used for the World University Games and should not have continued to take bookings from other guests not involved in the Games. Parking at the hotel was not allowed and involved a walk to a nearby facility with heavy bags. The pool was shut. The hotel is surrounded by police and a pass is needed to access the hotel. The pass was not available for 24 hours causing delays and questioning at entry. Also rooms were not available to access for an entire day as police dogs swept through the property. The restaurant had no menu but a fixed limited meal option and the breakfast was dreadful. Had we been advised that this was an official games hotel we would have booked elsewhere and Expedia should have advised us that was the case.

The history and charm of the hotel are remarkable. However, the hotel is in need of a few updates. The sir conditioning was not working during our stay and despite many requests to have it fixed, we were left unsatisfied and with poor sleep in a room that was 28C I throughout the night. This hotel took me back in time, when details mattered, I was transported into old charm and history, it was a short stop over to my destination which this hotel accomodated, the only thing I had to fault was how hard the bed was, but overall staff and facilities were very good. Time away with my family

The location that the hotel is in is very convenient as its got bus stops right outside it, there's a supermarket and Mac Donald right down the road and its a 5 minute bus ride to the outlet that they have and a big shopping mall is right opposite.
The hotel was very clean, the room service was spectacular and the cleaners were lovely so we decided to leave them a tip on our last day too. The pool outside was very clean, never really crowded so it was a lovely environment to relax in.

The hotel is old but had very impressivein decor and architecture. We stayed around Christmas and did not see a lot of guests. We upgraded the room to a 2 bedroom suit without any problem.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and had a nice variety of items.

The condition of the rooms was outdated, and the outdoor pool area seemed unkept. Sheets were clean and housekeeping was daily and very efficient.

I don't think the hotel is busy which is unfortunate because it has amazing potential. Also the location near highway may be not the best for exploring the area although convenient for travel.

The decorations in this hotel are typical European. Rooms are spacious with furniture that is a little worn but that just added to the charm. Breakfast was also the typical European buffet. Plenty of options for everyone. Well worth the money and a short drive to the Royal Palace of Caserta which is a \"should not miss\".

We chose this hotel because of the location to attractions and airport, but it is not possible to walk to any of the nearby attractions…for security & safety concerns, need to have a car.
Also, the airport is close by but the ride from the airport is $80 euros, despite the fact that its only a 15 minute drive.

One of a kind

I'm glad to have booked this hotel. It has the charm of an older original building that has been updated in good fashion. I had booked the least expensive room which turned out to be a bit disappointing in that it was small with a tiny balcony that overlooked a garbage dump. However, when I complained they didn't hesitate to give me a room that overlooked the pool which was much larger with a huge balcony. The room was comfortable and the bathroom was fine. The internet was slow the first day but much better afterwards. Breakfast was very good – not the best I've experienced but way better than typical. The pool area looked fine. There are plenty of parking spaces and although there were quite a few cars I always found a space. There is a restaurant but I did not experience it. A coffee/tea maker in room was missing for your info. I'm giving this hotel a five star rating which I seldom do.

While the room was spacious and mostly clean (toilet hadn't been cleaned properly on arrival)) the overall experience was letdown by rude, unhelpful staff. Receptionist was haughty and not interested in welcoming us or telling us anything about the hotel facilities. Bar staff were non existent at lunch time at the pool even though the sign clearly said you could get lunch at the pool. We eventually found a restaurant inside after being directed to the wrong space twice. Lunch was nearly comic with stressed, overworked waiters serving a large conference group. In late afternoon we returned to the pool for a swim. The sign said to get free towels from the pool staff. Still no pool staff. We looked around the area and only found some used towels. After 20 minutes pool staff arrived and told my husband to get towels at reception. My husband went to reception and they said the towels would be 10 euros! He declined. On his return I was already wet. I went to the pool staff and pointed out the sign that said complimentary towels were available from pool staff. He said he'd sort it out. 40 minutes later still no towels or sign of the hotel staff member who was 'sorting' it out. I had to return to our room in wet swimming costume. This is the worst hotel in my 6 weeks holiday in Italy. A very disappointing stay for our final night. After the lunch we decided not to go to the hotel restaurant for what was going to be a final celebratory dinner.

The bed could have been better. When we arrived there was a tango festival going on in the hotel so we had a horrible time finding a place to park our car. The festival went late into the night for three nights so it was hard to get a peaceful sleep.

When we checked in our room didn't have AC and it was very hot and stuffy it took over 5 calls to the front desk and finally they moved us to another room. Also the room has only one mirror and its in the bathroom , need to add more.
Concierge service is very good and helpful, they were able to set us up with a driver and a tour to the Amalfi coast

I hung the hotel-provided \"Do Not Disturb\" sign on my door, and when I returned to my room, my things had been moved, the bed made, the towels replaced, and the sign had been removed from the door and placed on the desk. In my view, failure to respect the wishes and privacy of guests is inexcusable. I went to the front desk to complain and basically got a shrug. They sent the maid to my room to apologize but I really fault whoever failed to train her as to the meaning of a clearly written sign in multiple languages including Italian. I later spoke to the Sunday manager about it, and by way of compensation he offered me a cup of coffee. I was underwhelmed.

The swimming pool needed a serious cleaning around the edges. It was not very appealing. There were some wadded pieces of paper left by a previous guest under some furniture in my room. Also, the front desk was usually manned by only one person. This hotel has a lot of rooms, and I observed a few times that people were clustered around the front desk and had to wait a long time to ask their question, check out, etc. Also, do not consider staying at this hotel if you do not have a car, as the area is a bit dicey, buses undependable, and taxi fare to Caserta is 15€ each way.

Wonderful grand hotel in a noisy surrounding

The hotel is true grand hotel close to city Caserta. The hotel has still the grandness of the old days. We booked a room for a family and got a really large one; nicely furbished and clean. The hotel has sound-proof windows, which is necessary since it is just next to a highway crossing.

One of the staff in the reception is not approachable, she don't even show even a fake smile. She was attending to a guest when I'm about to go out and I still need to wait just to give the key to her, she can't do a simple tasks at a time, so I left the key in front of her and when I came back she's blaming me that I lost my key because of what I did(I just left the key in front of her). More training/seminar/orientation or maybe reminder for some of the Receptionist when giving services to guests. I think she need to know and understand the real meaning of DISCRIMINATION. I have been in lot of countries because of the nature of my job and stayed in 4 & 5 star hotels and this is the first time I had encountered this type of employee.

Brilliant Hotel

The Hotel was immaculate, the surrounding area was quite urban but the hotel proved to be a safe haven. The bar man spoke perfect English and the service both in the bar and restaurant was first class. The only issue was that it was a nightmare if you wanted to turn left from the Hotel car park, it was crazy but the traffic in Italy is a bit aggressive to say the least. The rooms were top class and I strongly recommend this hotel for anyone who has business in the Marcianise / Caserta area.

Old world luxury with all the modern conveniences

Truly a high class place, totally unexpected given the reputation of the area. Right next to the highway/autostrada so very convenient, but alos soundproofed and very quiet. An oasis in the surrounding chaos.
Were we impressed - absolutely. We had a junior suite and don't understand why it is only rated as a 4 star; superb place.

Great find in Caserta

Great find ! We were looking for a nice and affoirdable place to stay somewhere near Naples/Pompeii but North, on the way towards Rome. We selected this place out of pure geography but were very pleasantly surprised. Beautiful physical place, nice rooms, great service, and Caserta is a great town to walk around & eat.
