Best hotel I’ve stayed in this time I took the wife and 2 kids soo when I booked the room wanted 2 beds and they gave me a whole other room that was connected to our main room which was a definitely PLUSS

Great location! Super convenient. Came from Canada and it was comfortable and relaxing. Got a later check in as we were out seeing the town and our room was upgraded to a room with a bigger bed! Which was amazing as we originally just booked a standard room with a double bed. Laundry is located on the fourth floor- it was easy to use, just ensure you have coins handy. The breakfast buffet was a treat every morning with everyday being different from the last. The staff were all super friendly. Definitely would recommend staying here for a couple or family. The price had me blown away with how amazing the facility is. My partner and I will definitely be back! Thank you!

This was a great starting point to explore Kyoto during our four-night stay. Just outside the most busy areas this was a quiet but walkable respite each evening. Good dining options are close by. We recommend the Sotetsu Fresa Inn.

We had great time at the hotel. Staffs were very responsive and helpful. The room is more spacious than expected and the subway/ bus stops at surrounding area makes it super easy to get around. Breakfast is also delicious. Highly recommended.

Staff was extremely nice, amenities were self serve so no unnecessary/wasted ones in our room, spacious room, bed extremely comfortable, decent breakfast buffet. Only minus was the cleanliness was lower than at other japanese hotels. The room's side tables were not well wiped down and were a little sticky along the sides. We also found a cockroach in our room our first day. Yes we had open snacks in the room, but we were on the 6th floor so it didn't come in off the street...

The windows overlooked an outdoor stairwell and I had to have a manager open a window a crack for me as they are locked. They force you to have the room cleaned even if it’s not convenient. It’s a basic hotel and I wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

This was the best value hotel we stayed at on our trip to Japan. While superficial elements (like the shower walls material) were not as \"nice\" as other, more expensive hotels we used during the trip, at half the price of those ones, Sotetsu Fresa was just about equal in everything that mattered to us: room size for the money, bed comfort, cleanliness, amenities available, location, etc.

I would definitely recommend considering the Sotetsu Fresa chain as a strong option if you're budget-conscious. I think you'd have to go up quite a bit in price to do much better.

Overall, the service was good, but it was a pity that the curtain was not fully opened. And I stayed for four nights, and the cleaning condition was different every day. Some days it was clean and some days it was too uncleaned. I think there needs to be improvement in this area.

Sotetsu Fresa Inn was a pleasant experience! The facility was extremely clean and well maintained and the staff were pleasant to talk to.Even the entrance to the elevator to the front desk was very nicely lit, creating a breathtaking aura and view! The inn also includes a breakfast and free amenities such as hair brushes, hair elastics, toothbrushes, towels, pajamas and packets of moisturizers, sunscreen, and lotions, as well as sugar alongside tea! In summary, this is 5-stars all the way through!

Booked this so I was close to Gion Matsuri festival. The evening events in the run up to the float parade took place on the street of the hotel. So right in the middle of the action! Very close to the subway station and 7-Eleven. Breakfast buffet offered good selection of Japanese and western options. Coin laundry facilities had clear English instructions.

You get what you paid for, so basic but has everything you need. Convenient access to the Karasuma line and a larger bus stop but off the main road. 7-11 and several restaurants close by. Required room cleanings every three days are a bit annoying but that’s a Sotetsu Fresa requirement (I stayed four days and didn’t want to partially pack up just for cleaning).

Very clean property. Right next to 7-11 store. Closer to Shijo Train Station, Nishiki Market and shopping areas. Overall great location. Staff was very helpful. If you have oversize luggage you can send it to any prefecture in Japan for a reasonable price. The staff will help you send or ship your luggage. It only takes 1 day to get your luggage from Kyoto to Tokyo. Thank you for providing exceptional customer service.

Great little hotel, close to Nishiki market

This hotel is well located, about 10 minutes away from Nishiki market and close to the main shopping strip and transport (bus and train). Check in is via a machine. Has coin laundry (300 yen, includes detergent) and dryer was 100 yen for 30 minutes. Breakfast was great. Simple, wide range of options and delicious. Staff were very helpful.

Lovely hotel with super buffet breakfast

I stayed here for 3 nights and chose it because of the central location as I’d not been to Kyoto before.
It was in a great location - just 2 stops north of the main station on the train and with lots of buses round the corner. I ended up using buses most of the time.
My room was very comfortable and big for a single. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and I was able to check in early (for a fee).
Breakfast was included in my room rate and it was fantastic with a mixture of Japanese and western dishes every day.
I would definitely stay here if I were to visit Kyoto again.

Arrived at hotel via Hankyu train from Osaka was super easy, one of the stops is by the hotel. Lobby was homely feeling, staff helped us with check in. The room and bathroom was spacious, bright and super clean. We had breakfast which was a nice start to the day, felt like a home cooked meal with a changing menu. It's very much Japanese style so don't expect much western options. Location is quieter, but it's a short stroll to one end of the Nishiki market.

Lovely staff that speak and understand English well. Easy check in and check out. Great location- it’s about a 20 minute walk to the Teramachi/Nishiki market. Right next to a train station which is 2 stops away from Kyoto Station. 7/11 is a few meters away. Laundry washer and dryer was very useful. Dryer needed more than 60 mins to dry our clothes but washer was easy and efficient to use. Very pleased we stayed here during our trip to Kyoto. Would highly recommend - affordable yet great option.

What I didn’t like: Room was small and minimalist. Door frame on bathroom was raised. Hurt feet. Pillows were small, only one each. No electrical outlets in bathroom. No way to plug in 3 pronged power cord for laptop.

The hotel location is incredibly convenient. I have stayed here on three different occasions over the years. My first stay was in 2017, when it seemed to be a freshly constructed or newly remodeled facility. There has been some wear and tear since, but it is still in a really good shape. The room size and bathroom size is generous, the service is also wonderful, considering it is a three star hotel. Would definitely recommend.
