Overnight stay near the airport

We had an overnight stay close to the airport as we flew in late on the Friday night and were flying early on the Sunday.
The staff (family owned) were the best thing about this accommodation. It was the cheapest room we had during our trip and for the price met all our expectations.
We had a room with air on which was fine my only problem with the room was a step down to the bathroom which isn’t highlighted as it’s all in the same tile. This simply wouldn’t happen in the Uk (health and safety issue). Anyway after falling down it twice flat onto my face I remembered it was there so no harm done. This room was on the ground floor room 167i think. The room was adequate for the night with a lovely big fridge with free bottled water.
The pool was a nice area and the reception with reasonably priced drinks was also good.
I took advantage of the tea/coffee making facilities near the pool too.
When we needed a taxi the staff were great,friendly,welcoming and helpful.
Taxis are so prompt so be ready, they even arrive early!
We went to McDonald’s for breakfast nearby,popped into Big C and visited the local temple and market on the Saturday(so busy....no westerners, just locals but a nice atmosphere).

We stayed here for 1 night based on the good reviews we read online - we just needed a good bed for the night close to the airport as we were between flights. We found this hotel to be more like a very basic hostel and in need of a lot of upgrading. It’s still quite a drive to the airport too.

Very chilled end to our holiday.

Stayed for one night, main reason was location to the main airport. We flew internally from Phuket and wasn't flying back to Manchester for an further 24 hours.
Taxi (metered) is around 250 Baht. (approx. 15km away - 20min)
What can I say! For £30 a night for 4 was perfect, Ok it isn't the Ritz, but clean, and reasonably comfortable with 2 double beds and 2 bathrooms. We were in the older part of the building, very quirky but great for one night.
The hotel caters for long term lets, locals, bag packers and like us one night stays for the airport. The pool is perfect with very cheap food and drinks available 24 hours. 100 baht for Thai food and only 75baht for a large local beer (150 - 200 in the centre).
We met the 'semi retired' owner 'Dick' who owns it with is Thai wife. Great guy from Whitby UK, who sat with us for while telling some very interesting stories.
The location has plenty of temples to explore with a large market and shopping centre within 10 min walk., you can also take your own food n drink back to the hotel no problem.
Overall its was a very relaxing end to our holiday.

When we arrived, the driver stayed until we had seen the inside because the outside did not look so great. The inside was a gorgeous oasis of good clean fun. The upstairs pool and restaurant were lovely and lushly tropical. The bed comfortable and the room very clean. The daily water came in refillable glass bottles, which is so much better than single use plastic. We loved Sananwan Palace.

We arrived around 1:30am after a long flight. Staff were very helpful and friendly. They told us about the area and places to see the next day. The kitchen is open 24hours. We had a delicious pad thai brought to the dining area by the pool. We also had breakfast there in the morning. They also called us a cab to take us to downtown Bangkok the next day and spoke to the cab driver for us as his english was poor. Overall a Wonderful stay. 10/10 would stay again. Would recommend to anyone.

People at front desk very very helpful with cheap routes for travel, room was also lovely and clean with a little balcony. Was quite far out from central Bangkok but cheap to get there via public transport. Would best reccomend after /before a flight to relax! Amazing place!!!

Hotel is very basic . That’s why it’s cheap also. However it has a pool that is a big plus point although I didn’t use it . Main thing is staff the guy at reception was too good. We booked one room and had two kids . He gave us two rooms connected for price of one . That’s called excellent care because we have kids . I ate food from them . Food was resonantly priced and won’t say excellent but was good . As I needed food in room was tired to go anywhere out . Someone on budget with low expectation from room can stay here . Service will be excellent and can get chance to eat food next to pool Which is not possible to get in £25 worth room .

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sananwan. They were very friendly and treated us like family. I mentioned when we checked in that we had an excursion 3 hours away, and a couple days later they let me know about a bus going to the town and the cost. I had only just mentioned it in passing, but they remembered and even did research. You just can't find that kind of attention anymore. Plus, the very first night I had asked what was available to do late night, and Bang actually drove my husband and I to a local night market to check out.
The only thing I will say - and this is NOT against Sananwan Palace - is that while they are in fact \"close\" to the airport (closer than Bangkok), they are far from central Bangkok. You have to take a taxi (or brave a songthaew if you have the time) to get to the nearest BTS station. THEN from there, you can go into central Bangkok. And if you're interested in Chatuchak market, prepare for a trip to the BTS, then riding it quite far down to Mo Chit. Even with taking a taxi, it took us a little over an hour to get from Sananwan to the market. That said, if you don't feel like braving the crowds of central Bangkok, there are a number of really nice markets and shopping places right in Bang Phli. The hotel is right around the corner from Wat Bang Phli (a local temple), and it is stunning. From there, you can get to an old wooden market as well as the Big C Supercenter. Overall definitely recommend Sananwan Palace.

Ideal hotel in vibrant neighborhood approximately 15 minutes from BKK airport. We stayed for one night between flights. Staff was truly exceptional. The hotel itself is comfortable and quite pretty. Hot water in room. The a/c worked well. Bed was comfortable. We were grateful for the 24 room service, and only wish the weather had been a bit warmer for a swim in the clean outdoor pool. Truly a find!

We stayed for one night to catch an early flight from Bangkok. We had two superior connecting rooms. Rooms and bathrooms were very clean with fan and air con. Great clean pool. Good food available too. The staff are very helpful and can help with local travel and transfers to other parts of Thailand at good prices. The local area is actually worth a look too, markets, malls and Wats are close by.

We had a great time with the people we met at this hotel. We didn’t get a room with air conditioning but would definitely spend the extra for that next time. The food and service were great!
Location to the market was great.
Only problem was we got badly bitten by bedbugs. I don’t want to come down too hard on the hotel because other than that it was great. I know it is impossible to prevent bedbugs because they come in on other people. We were the only ones staying there that we met that had the problem so hopefully it was contained to just our room. We showed the staff our legs and made them aware of the situation so hopefully they burned those mattresses and replaced them with new ones.
Just be sure to check your mattress for tell tale signs if you stay there, or any hotel really. It’s very easy to see the signs and worth taking 15 seconds to do as the bites are extremely irratating.

My favorite airport hotel in Bangkok. Not near anything, but otherwise a perfect hotel for a Bangkok layover for making a nice night's sleep. Super prompt, efficient, wake up calls and taxi ordering service, kind, and help you with your luggage. Not a 5 star or high end place, but they do all the things that matter very well. Comfortable mattress, quiet, clean smelling room, wifi is pretty good, and there is a even a pool. Food is 24/7 room service and quite decent thai food with some western selections. Really amazing to get such a decent place for this price point. Old school Thai style, and hope it stays around a long time.

We booked this last minute for a bit of peace in a quiet part of Bangkok we hadn't seen before 30/45 mins from BKK airport. Really friendly staff made us feel very welcome, even with our thick Glasgow accent check in went relatively smooth. booked a superior room with a fan, own wet-room and TV and a great view of the temples and city. The hotel is within walking distance of two temples and the old market on the canals. Lots of local shops and food stalls but we stayed in the hotel for food as it was very reasonably priced and able to cater to my food allergies. Really nice plants and wildlife in and around the hotel with info about it displayed on the corridor walls. Early morning transfer to the airport is a set 220bht (roughly £5) for a 40 min taxi ride when booked through the reception. The pool area was the best with loads of plant life, and koi pools. Situated between the 2 main buildings is the shared kitchen and eating area, giving you the option to bring in your own food and use their utensils and crockery, just clean up after yourself and leave 10bht for tea, coffee, or water which are all available 24/7. This makes the perfect sun-trap and keeps the deep swimming pool and paddling pools warm throughout the day. The love birds at the end of the pool are lovely and the owner and her British husband keep everything looking good with the help of their staff.

Great place to spend your last night or two in Bangkok. Really good night market down the street behind the gas station for fresh food, Big C in walk distance other direction. Pool good place to get a tan while winding your trip down. This place is on the outskirts of the city so not good for xtended stay. Always end my trip here before I hit the friendly skies for trip home.

Although our stay was short because we had to catch an early flight, the staff and facilities were perfect. When we arrived, they met us at the cab to welcome us and to take our luggage in. They then showed us to our room and carried our luggage. They also arranged for our taxi the next morning and made sure we were up in time. Finally, we had an issue with some lost luggage, and they helped us with that. They went above and beyond. I highly recommend!

A diamond in the rough.

Outward appearances suggest caution, but the hotel is very clean and comfortable. It has all the amenities of a four star hotel on a smaller scale. The restaurant is available 24/7 and serves a wide variety of local and western selections for a very reasonable price. This hotel offers real value and is near some popular tourist attractions and the airport. I will definitely be returning.

Near an Incredible Temple complex.

I came in on a Sunday and walked around the corner to an AMAZING old market alongside the Klong river next to a beautiful old and giant temple. If you like that kind of stuff it's the best hotel for the money in Bangkok. If you want to be around restaurants (or even street venders) this is a dead zone. absolutely nothing to do at night. Even the swimming pool (very nice pool) shuts down at 9 pm.

Great value for money is the Sananwan Palace.
My wife & 3-4 month old son loved our stay here.
Air conditioning worked perfect & always had hot water for a shower at the end of the day.
The food was great value, the muesli, fruit & yogurt for brekky was probably the best i have tasted in Thailand.
This is not a 5 star hotel to look at but the service the food the room was great great value for money.
The owners were very helpful organising a taxi to the airport which was only around 200-220 bht.
I will definitely stay here again.

The Hotel is good if you want to be away from the Crowded noisy Streets of Bangkok but not so close to the public transportations that would make it easier to get into bangkok.
You NEED to get a taxi to go get to the overground train networks.
Not many sights or shopping to give a good response.
The hotel is basic with NOT much atmosphere or anything else but would appeal to older people more than the young.
The staff are nice.
Rooms are nothing to brag about but simple with 24hr restaurant food freshly prepared when ordered.

Relatively near the airport, there were plenty of things to do. The staff was not only prompt in helping, but showed up unexpectedly to help with bags, etc. Rates were very good, and the location was useful. Room service was prompt, and better than expected. Much better than the places I have stayed at in Bangkok before (4 previous trips). The Chinese temple and adjoining market were fun to explore. The shopping center (Big C) was convenient.

I had very nice stay at Sananwan Palace. The pool was very clean. The staff are very friendly.
And the food was really good. It was easy to go to the airport for 15-20 minutes. Around is very
interesting and really Thailand and not like downtown Bangkok. It is quite close to Mega Bangna
is a very big shopping mall also BigC and Market Village. Free maps and information. Also discount
for massages. And leaving baggage is free.

Not for us

This is no doubt a good very budget hotel for young people and people on a low budget but I would not recommend it to others.

When we arrived the staff were very friendly and helpful, but we could not stay there although we had already paid for it.

The pool looked very nice but the bathroom and bedrooms while clean were not suitable for us

hotel with potential

not an easy location to be in however once you get your bearings there are restaurants available locally about a ten minute walk away
barbeque restaurants they are an experience
if you never tried before also have good old MacDonald's and KFC if you really want
however the hotel food is more then good enough and cheap enough
the hotel has put alot of effort into helping with getting around the area etc .
the room really was a let down as basically the shower room etc was out in a balcony area which meant was you was on public display to the swimming pool area to get to this area I didn't mind but I'm sure if you had lady with you they might of felt uncomfortable to me as a builder it's an easy fix to this but I guess it's all money been as it only cost around 12 pounds a night 600tb can live with the inconvenience

Heartwarming Service, Clean, Interesting Vibe

This was the perfect place to arrive to at 2am after a long flight. It is family owned and operated. I was obviously tired when I got there. Three of the family members greeted me, spoke English, made check in very easy. One of them came out to my cab and got my bags for me, and he carried the heavy suitcase up several flights of stairs, showed me how to work the AC, and made sure I had everything I needed. The location is near Bangkok airport making it a convenient place to stay on your way in or out of Bangkok.
The superior room was a good size and very clean. Wifi, AC, and hot water all worked well for me.
One of the best features of this place is that they have 24/7 room service from their pretty extensive Thai (and some \"American\") food kitchen. You can order to the poolside (nice) or to the room. All in all a cool place. It's not uber modern so if you're looking for the high end it's not a Ritz Carlton. It's got character!

Perfect for the price

I stayed for the first night in Bangkok. Not to far from the airport. Swimming pool was nice and food good. Room was clean with basic shower toilet. American movie channels. Check out the old market and temples a 5/10 walk.

Really bad location

Staff didnt speak english ( very very basic, wasnt usefull). Location was the worst, we need to take several transports to get to the centre. Pool was good.

Very nice room and very friendly staff

I stayed at this hotel with my wife for 6 nights. It was a bit of a drive from Bangkok, we took a taxi to the sky train (170 baht) and then the train into Bangkok (past Siam station for about 110 baht for two of us). The hotel was nice and having a pool was very nice and relaxing. A couple of days we stayed back at the hotel to swim and see some of the sights around the hotel (the old market and I believe the reclining Buddha are close to the hotel as well as a Chinese and Thai temple). The staff was very nice and and showed us how to get to where we wanted to go and also provided us with a map to and from the hotel that was in English and Thai so that we could show the taxi drivers how to get back. Over all it was a very nice hotel and the room was nice and the staff was amazing!
