Bali Dive Resort & Spa in Tulamben is pure magic. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel so welcome – their warmth, attentiveness, and genuine care made our stay truly special. Every meal we had here was delicious – we enjoyed breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the hotel every day, and each dish was fresh, flavourful, and beautifully presented.

Our room had the most spectacular ocean view – waking up to the sight and sound of the waves was absolute bliss. The resort is wonderfully quiet, making it the perfect place to relax and reset.

Snorkelling right from the beach was beautiful, with vibrant coral and plenty of marine life. The highlight of our trip was visiting the USAT Liberty shipwreck, which was nothing short of amazing. Even as snorkellers, it was an unforgettable experience – next time, I’ll definitely be learning to dive here!

This place is a little slice of paradise, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. If you’re looking for somewhere peaceful, scenic, and welcoming, this is it. We will absolutely be back!

It was an incredible stay, the only reason I can't give it 5 is because our shower had small issues and there are areas on the hotel that need some love. On the other hand, the hotel and the staff will go out of their way to help you and Emily at the dive centre was incredible. Can't thank the team enough for an amazing stay.

Beautiful peaceful location. Very friendly and helpful. Gave us some very helpful tips and insights into Bali. Our son did the Open water Padi course and enjoyed it so much, he did the Advanced as well. A big shout out to instructors Emilie & Damian.

These property grounds were beautiful. We enjoyed some snacks and dinner with no complaints. Unfortunately, we had two orders of uncooked pancakes in the morning. We were diving that morning and had a second order of pancakes ordered but they were also uncooked. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I would come back again.

The complex is very nice, but be aware that next to the restaurant there are open air fires every day. This is not the fault of the hotel, however, it is a matter of great concern. I was there for one week and ate there every day, as there were no other restaurants nearby. We were able to eat without smoking only two times. Locals are burning their trash.

This was a great hotel, lovely pool, fab dive centre I had a thorough PADI refresh course and 2 very enjoyable and safe dives.
The garden room accommodation was spacious and quiet, the spa and restaurant are also very good.

This is a great spot if you are diving, but it's also great if you are just looking to relax (or have non-diving friends/family). I came for the former, and while the area is best known for the Liberty, there are many other great sites to check out. The on-site dive shop is top notch, with great service and also great teaching. Rooms are spacious, the pool is nice, grounds are beautiful, there's an ocean view. What's not to love?

Safe, quiet, excellent staff, and beautiful location. Most guests are there to dive and snorkeling. We didn’t do either, instead we took advantage of the spa services, rented motorbike to visit center of Amed and Tulamben, and had a local fisherman take us on his boat (jukung) to watch sunset on the ocean. Food wise, no restaurants nearby, just local eateries (warung), so we mostly ate at the resort’s restaurant (good selections). Overall it’s a very relaxing stay for our family (4 nights).

We have enjoyed Bali Dive resort every year since 2014, excluding covid years, and have already booked next year. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DIVE TO ENJOY THIS PLACE. Beautiful well kept grounds and pool, a fantastic restaurant with a well trained staff, a great spa, all equal the perfect place. On a stay prior to covid, I mentioned to manager Nichole, with ageing making me less stable, I had become uncomfortable with the steep marble stairs leading from registration to the grounds as there was no handrail. When we arrived this March we were so very surprised she had installed beautiful stainless steel handrails on BOTH sides of the stairs. Now, can you be more accommodating than that??

Staff was excellent. Dive shop had great staff and I liked the fact that once you had your equipment chosen, you had the same equipment for the duration of your stay. Restaurant was good and breakfast options were great and portions hearty. Somethings could use updating such as towels in the units. Overall I would stay there again.

Just INCREDIBLE! The snorkeling and diving here is life changing, and the sunrise views over the ocean from the pool are amazing. This place is the main attraction. Get away from the hustle and bustle and enjoy the ocean to the fullest extent.

If you are thinking of staying in Amed - STAY HERE

Great place to stay - good location in town - still really need a scooter to get around Amed - its very spread out with hills, so if you do ride a motorbike back home, grab a scooter - nice staff - we had a few meals there - good food - good views on the property of Agung - very nice well kept rooms - overall a great stay - we WILL return.

Definately one of the nicer places to stay in Tulamben. Room spacious and comfortable air conditioning fridge to kept beverage cold. Staff was attentive with exception of restaurant staff. They were friendly but never check back with you to see if you need something else. 9 times out of ten they forgot to give you napkins. Little details I see as an inn owner myself. Overall good choice beautiful ground! Attention to a few details would make this an outstanding place.

Staff is absolutely not interested, they literally throw the menu on the table and turn their back on you. Why would they care, they precharge a service fee anyways and you have no other real restaurant options anywhere close.
We found SEVERAL eggshells in our food. We saw a rat running THROUGH the restaurant multiple days. Breakfast is not a buffet, you choose a little menu and you cannot change much about it. They will simply not allow that. Terrible service overall.

Rooms
More than disappointing! TV has 7 channels, 2 english channels. Our room has not been made the first day. Minibar has no snacks and is WAY overpriced. The door does not close fully, you WILL have ants and bugs in your room. We tried to put towels there to minimize the amount of bugs we had to kill before sleeping.

Activities / Diving
Beachfront has roosters and trash laying around. Dive shop seemed okay, but overpriced. They drove us for 5 minutes to a snorkeling site and we only borrowed one pair of fins and had to pay 20US$ per person. Dive instructor was helpful.

We stayed in Bali for 3 weeks and we thought about switching hotels the first night we arrived. You can get so much more and so much better than this terrible stay.

Please do more research and stay near Ubud, Candi Dasa or Amed. You get SO MUCH more for your money in these areas.
NEVER have I seen such an arrogant manager. I will try to get my money back from expedia and absolutely regret booking a room here!

This is a great resort for divers. The food is good and the dive staff are all fantastic. My only suggestion or improvement would be to add a camera room or station some where on property and/or more electrical sockets in the rooms to charge dive camera gear.

Very comfortable room and lovely grounds the restaurant was good. We booked the divemania package for four dives in the first day then snorkeled from the beach on the second day. We used the spa, it was very reasonable priced! Great location for a relaxing getaway!

Best for diving or to get away from it all

The views are the best and I was here to just relax and be away from it all and here you certainly are. I stayed 4 nights. Rooms were comfortable and my bungalow faced east so it didn’t get hot as others had complained about in their reviews. I snorkeled while I saw other guests go out diving daily. The hotel arranged for transportation for me from Ubud and then onto Lovina at reasonable rates. One night I did walk into town from here to eat at Chops & Hops - about a 30 minute walk one way just for a change in scenery.

Some slight negatives are that they can’t cook eggs that are palatable - either scrambled or boiled as noted by other guests I’d talked to and some staff members as well. The other breakfast choices and food I ate for dinner were fine though. The spa - massages and facials - was great but not up to date on manicures or gel polish. The rooms are a little banged up from wear and tear but nothing that couldn’t be fixed with some new paint.

I cannot say enough nice things about Bali Dive Resort and spa. I stayed for 7 days. The room was perfect. A big comfortable bed and room.. Good air conditioning, refrigerator that works. Water was provided. Beautiful view of the ocean and pool. Nice patio. Good WiFi. Beautiful grounds.
Excellent restaurant and staff. Great diving and dive shop. I loved it here and could have stayed another week!

Good location for diving USAT Liberty. On site staff is friendly and helpful. food was better than expected. there are only shingle beaches on the north side of the island, so if you want a sandy beach this area is not for you; however, I think most people come here to dive. For this purpose I'd recommend the hotel.

Nicolletta is an excellent manager for the hotel. We were welcomed and directed to our room by friendly and attentive staff. The diving staff were friendly and our dive guide was exceptional. He allowed us our space to explore on our own ( under his watchful eye), but was quick to point out many species from micro to macro. Colorful coral reefs and lots of marine life.

For those who love diving

Nice spacious rooms and bathroom. Bed and pillows are very comfortable. Towels are soft. Well developed garden. Nice small swimming pool, few chairs to relax and one swing. Enjoyed some time on swing and sitting there in evening. Breakfast has fixed menu but have choice of pancake, American breakfast, Balinese breakfast. Good preparation. We took lunch but both chicken n fish were chewy. I don't recommend the restaurant.
We stayed in sea facing bungalow. In morning it has direct. Sun rays and it is too hot so you can not enjoy sitting outside. 2 to 3 bungalows in front has same problem. Air conditioners are too small for size of room. It took almost 5 to 6 hours to cool down room. Thus with everything said good this is major handicap. I may not like to stay again.

Our stay at Bali Dive Resort and Spa was outstanding. The property is 3 years old and very well cared for. The staff is attentive and service is excellent. The Spa is very nice and offers several packages. We came here to five and relax. The Dive operation is very efficient and well managed. A guide is sent out with each group. Our guide had a keen eye for finding some amazing (macro) sea creatures. On our last day we dove the Liberty which exceeded our expectations and was actually our favorite Dive in Bali. Thanks to Pauline (Hotel GM), Michael (Dive Shop Manager) and their staff. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend Bali Dive Resort and Spa.

Had a good stay at Bali Dive Resort and Spa. Resort staff were friendly and approachable.

However, don't bother going to the Tulamben town as there is nothing there apart from local restaurants. The hotel restaurant would be sufficient.

The toilet flooring was uneven, and we had to leave the toilet door ajar.

Travelled to Telumben for scuba diving. Wanted to spend $$ on diving, not anything else. Bought our duty free alcohol with us. Bought some food from home. 3 of us shared a family suite. Married couple in big bed. Single person had a king size single bed with partition. Ate in hotel restaurant every morning & every evening. Didn't use the hotel dive service or spa. Had a dive instructor I've used on previous trips to Bali. Used local business for spa services- cheaper that way. Pool was great!

Rooms built poorly, the AC did not work, and the WiFi is a joke at best. The room was hotter than a sauna, when approached the owners about this they said \"it will cool off at night\" and did not look surprised. Never even offered to change a room. When asked why there is no WiFi they said they have problems with cables.

The location is horrible. The food is ok. Altogether, I would not stay here and avoid this shady property.

Room was fine. Location was too far from the city (no fault to the hotel) and it was not possible to use either Grab or Gojek. The reason we left after a brief 2 night stay was the location but mostly the restaurant. Male staff was very attentive and also a lady. The young women couldn’t drag their feet any more than they did. Felt as if we were disturbing them in their continuing interest in their cell phones. Food was a serious let down. Felt like heated frozen food. Hotel is nice, view over pool is beautiful but I would not book here again due to restaurant.

Séjour très décevant au Bali Dive Resort. Le personnel était peu accueillant, souvent expéditif. Le seul moment où nous avons eu un vrai sourire, c’était pour nous proposer un taxi vers Amed, ce qui donnait l’impression d’être vus comme des clients de passage, sans réelle considération.

Le dîner était correct, rien à redire. En revanche, le petit déjeuner était cher et très basique : formules limitées à leur minimum (œufs, bacon, un quart de tomate, oignons à peine cuits). Peu adapté au prix demandé.

La chambre “premium” avec piscine partagée entre trois logements était en mauvais état : murs abîmés, draps douteux, salle de bain vétuste, climatisation partiellement défectueuse. Le ménage n’a pas été fait malgré notre demande explicite avant notre départ en plongée. Le lendemain, on nous a clairement fait comprendre qu’il fallait libérer la chambre dès l’arrivée du taxi.

L’hôtel est isolé, loin d’Amed, sans chauffeur disponible en permanence. Il faut prévoir un scooter pour se déplacer. La vue sur la mer est agréable mais la plage est envahie de bateaux, donc peu propice à la baignade — uniquement adaptée à la plongée.

En résumé : ambiance froide, prestations décevantes, localisation peu pratique. Nous ne reviendrons pas.
