I did enjoy the stay within the hotel, however there were some flaws not detailed on the advertisement. I stated multiple restaurants within the Hotel, it did not state that the majority of these were closed due to varying issues. Hotel room shower did not function and even after repair barely had pressure. Outdoor pool bar was never manned and you had to continue to go inside some distance for a drink. Overall it was a decent hotel but needs to advertise correctly and also provide the service that it states.

Oh if only I had a Time Machine. When this hotel was built in the late nineties it was probably the go to hotel in Bangkok. Since then the main arrival airport has changed from Don Muang to suvarnabhumi, some 40 kms away. This has reduced the amount of people that choose to stay there. That’s a shame because the hotel has some incredible solid oak features When I stayed there I was one of 25 one night and one of 30 the other. And it has a capacity of 400 .
Staff polite and efficient. Room spotless. I have not found a Thai hotel to be anything less than excellent in 40 years and the Rama gardens were no exception.

It all works. Check-in straightforward. Parking very easy. Lifts work. Everything in the room works. Reasonable level of lighting. Air con fully adjustable and quiet. Hot water is hot. Only slight downsides - shower rather small and cramped; only two internet connections permitted per room - in the modern world we all have multiple devices 6 is really the minimum number needed per room.

The beautiful garden around the hotel and hotel lobby and friendly staffs.
What I don't like is the breakfast purchased with the room is not impressed and it has been organised separately from the other coffee shop in the lobby area. I feel it is second grade breaky.
Also, a young female staff could not understand a simple English question from my husband that I had to translate for her.
Over all is not bad..

I stayed previously and loved it but was disappointed with my most recent stay!
Bed extremely comfortable and welcoming staff. Breakfast choices, although bared was odd, no bacon. Chef unable to fry an egg.
Swimming pool on previous visits was fantastic. But this time was a cloudy green colour. Massive hotel but no one brave enough to chance a swim.
Poor value for price I’m afraid to say.

What was good: Hotel room design was updated, furnishings were mainly new, I could tell the room has been renovated.

What was bad:
1) Lift landings and area outside room was dated, carpet and lightings look old and dusty.
2) Toilet design was dated, shower cubicle was small, and shower head was bad. Water was just warm, but could not get it to be hot enough in the morning.
3) Also, some areas in the lobby had mosquitos.

Lovely Room, Terrific Staff *** BUT OVERPRICED ***

For Thailand, the price I paid was rather steep. And for that price I would expect complimentary buffet breakfast. But the hotel added little extra fees for almost everything. Extra for breakfast, expensive but simple meal at dinner, overpriced cheap wine,.... 20 Baht for a comb, 30 Baht for a razor, 40 baht for a nail file. Ridiculous. And far off the beaten path so no other options available. An older building but well maintained. ************ MIND YOU - the staff were VERY friendly and helpful. *************** By the way , I live in Thailand (15 years) and have a Thai wife , so I have a good idea of what the prices SHOULD be

An older hotel that is very difficult to get to and to leave from. It is just off the arterial routes to city and Don Meuang airport.
be aware that this hotel caters for huge numbers of Chinese travellers who descend in coach loads. Makes for interesting times at breakfast and checkin and checkout if you are a solo traveller of other than Chinese origin, who is neither pushy, loud nor rude.
Good swimming pool, adequate fitness centre so not bad overall, apart from location and access.

This hotel was quite far from the city and rather outdated. The lobby pillars while looking down from second and third floors were covered in dust and used very out dated decorations throughout. Hotel hallways smelled musty and were warm along with the lobby. Not pleasant considering Bangkok is a very hot city. The room was decent, large comfortable bed and a nice size room, but the wifi in the rooms were HORRIBLE. This is 2017, a hotel of that size shouldn't have horrible wifi, and the selective higher options is not only an outdated system, but it didn't even work. The staff were clueless on how to help. The bathroom at my hotel also had little hairs stuck to the tiles in the shower from previous guests. The breakfast buffet was nice, the dinner buffet, however, was terribly over priced with dry watery food and not many good options. Room service was a good choice with delicious green curry and chocolate truffle cakes. The wait staff, room service staff and cleaning staff were kind. Reception weren't very helpful or warm to catering clients needs, regarding wifi or other issues, however check in and out were very easy. The concierge was incredibly useless, barely being able to speak english and offered no help when a taxi tried to rip me off from the city. My friend ended up having to report the taxi, a job for the hotel to do. The best part of this hotel was the pool, warm, large and very clean. I will not stay here again, instead I will be taking business to Shangri La.

Nice Hotel but remote from amenities

This is a rather odd hotel. Initially appears dated and a little eccentric, with a grand Foyer complete with enormous indoor water feature and 1980s suspended cluster lighting. However the rooms have been modernised in a Thai contemporary style and are comfortable and modern. Extremely comfortable bed.
Excellent swimming pool. Delicious buffet breakfast, beautiful garden setting and surroundings.
The only downside is that the hotel is quite remote from amenities (it is a good 15 minute walk to the nearest convenience store -Family Mart for non-hotel provisions). The hotel runs a free shuttle service to attractions, malls etc. But during my stay I was not aware as this is not well advertised.
Free late check - out.
Overall a lovely hotel, happy yo stay there again in the future.

Perfect for big families!

With 5 young children this is our preferred place to stay in Bangkok now, and after 3 visits in the past year we plan to keep coming back. The size of the rooms is generous (We always get the Garden Club or Executive Deluxe which are in the newer building overlooking the pool) so much so that we can all our five children in the room with us. The staff are very accommodating and bring us extra pillows, blankets and a crib at no extra cost. They also have never charged us for extra people with the included breakfast either! The breakfast buffet is one of the best. Add in the spacious gardens and pools and it really doesn't feel like you're in the city - which is the reason we keep coming. The staff is also wonderful. It's a huge hotel but they remember us every time we come!

We fly in/out of DMK which is very convenient and Rama Garden's is between the malls at Central Ladprao and Future Park. Until the new sky train is finished you'll need a taxi (or your own car) to go anywhere, but getting a taxi at the hotel is no problem. Multiple restaurants on-site, but a little pricy. They don't mind if you order outside delivery though. Definitely a hidden gem for the price and accommodations. Sometimes they run promotions on their website directly and sometimes the price is better on Orbitz or through Chase, either way, enjoy!

Mixed feelings!

It's the little things that make all the difference- that's why this hotel has its good and bad reviews it seems. The hotel itself is quite lovely but some of the hotel staff need a holiday or need a new job (they seem unhappy). The TV has hardly any channels and poor reception sometimes. The WIFI drops you out and you have to re-login constantly. The restaurants charge you for water regardless that you are already being overcharged for a local beer! We were also charged for bucket of ice- which usually comes free at every other hotel I've stayed at. Plus, my room service order was wrong twice. Besides that the pool was wonderful and the hotel could be the perfect getaway.... if they sharpen up on the quality of customer service and drop some of those pesky things they unecessarily charge for.
TIP: upgrade to a executive room in the Rama wing if you can- its much nicer!

Overpriced drinks with Mosquitos free

Paying 350Bht for an average glass of Californian red wine is excessive , the beer was equally overpriced. Mosquitos were annoying in the lobby coffee shop an staff there need to sharpen up on their service. The buffet dinner was good but breakfast cold.
There are no dinning options nearby. I was there for 3 nights and would have chosen a different hotel but for my business requirements nearby.

The hotel offers a good dining and recreational facilities. Staff are friendly and somewhat helpful but no wow factor.

The hotel is situated close to the old airport.

The Superior Room I stayed in clean but in need of refurbishment. Bathroom was compact. Outside (hallway) noise was louder than usually expected (there were a lot of noisy patrons between 6 and 7AM banging on doors with frequent loud verbal exchanges)

The hotel is at a good price point for what you get. I would recommend it to the price conscious traveler who is a sound sleeper.

I lucked upon this hotel as it is not in the usual tourist area and was pleasantly surprised. As a tennis lover, I was knocked out when I discovered it has a nicely run sports complex with 6 hard courts! Nicely priced. Stayed in a deluxe room (suite) which was ample. TV takes USB. Room service fast and affordable. What more do you want? Awesome place.

great hotel but location sucks

Stayed both in the normal room and the executive room for a few days, the normal room has an old feel over it, and is simple. The executive room, is much more spectacular and new. Absolutely worth the little difference in price (less then 10$).
Hotel is great, had great lunch buffet.
There is no way of getting of the property however, except for a taxi, and very infrequent shuttle service. Nothing to buy in the neighborhood, and on a way way highway. So meaning always in traffic if going in or out. Even going to the airport takes a long time due to this turning before reaching the hotel.

I was very pleasantly surprised by the hotel. I had been expecting something more rundown but it was a lovely place - good rooms, nice staff and a great breakfast. Getting to DMK takes 10 mins longer (20-25min) than from DMK (10 mins) because your taxi needs to go 4km south before it can turn around...

Quite an old and 'tired' hotel.

On arriving at the hotel we were quite disappointed. The foyer and restaurant areas are okay but the hallways and rooms are showing their age and a little dirty. I'm sure the mattress was made from left over concrete and the shower was tiny (and I'm not a big bloke!). There were also no facilities to hang your clothes if you needed to wash anything during your stay.
The hotel seemed more directed to the Asian market with very few westerners in the hotel, the staffs English was very limited and they weren't overly helpful. The exception were the concierge staff, without them talking to the taxi drivers and writing instructions in Thai getting around would have been very difficult.
In regard to it's location, it's close to the Don Muang airport but there is NOTHING within walking distance from the hotel.

First stayed there 12 years ago, before new wing & conf. centre were built. It's showing its age a bit, but the staff are great (we met one from our first visit, who recognized us); breakfast in the new wing is excellent, Japanese restaurant likewise.
It's an oasis, but a short taxi ride to skytrain gets you into town in 40 minutes.

A comfortable hotel near Don Mueng airport

Because of proximity to Don Mueng , I could get to the hotel and out again within 15min. By car is the only way to get to town but it is located on a busy and congested road. I had to budget about 2 h to get to town at peak hour. The wifi was very weak, maybe because my room was at the end of the corridor.

バンコク市内へタクシーを使って移動する人はかなり、不向きな場所にあります。
観光地からの帰りが、場所によって高速を使ってホテルに戻るのですが、少し先か手前で高速降りないといけません。それゆえに、不便を感じました。コンビニも少し歩かないと行けないので、バンコク市内で遊ぶ方は厳しいかなと思いました。
