Offseason on the Black Sea coast.

We arrived after the tourist season so some of the amenities were not active or fully staffed. The tradeoff is that their was no competition for the existing services. Overall we were very pleased and would recommend the IALKI to friends and family.

J ai attendu près d une heure pour checkin et 20 min pour le checkout . Problème récurrent en Roumanie . Le service mais le problème c est le management pas le personnel. Il n y a pas de pilote dans l hôtel!

Hotel Iaki is located only few meters from the Black Sea and short drive to the center of Constanta. A professional and friendly staff are ready to assist in making checking in/out a quick process. Comfortable beds, quiet and well appointed rooms with a desk, fridge, and easy accessible outlets make this hotel an excellent choice and solid value for the business or vacation traveler. The hotel has excellent facilities from dining to fitness, spa, and pool - guests have it all. A good lounge areas offers a variety of beverages with attentive staff that are ready to assist. The Hotel Iaki value, convenience and comfort is my first choice for hotels in Constanta.

Nice location—lots of restaurants within walking distance. Had a great porch and view of the Sea. Nice to have the hotel beach provide chairs , towels, umbrellas etc. staff all very friendly and helpful. Prices very reasonable

Good hotel and location

The hotel is right on the beach with numerous attractions nearby. Parking can be tricky - although free if you park outside, the spaces are limited and the lot is always congested. The food is decent (we had half board with the breakfast and lunch included) and the variety is good: traditional Romanian dishes, fresh fruit and salads are always on the menu. Lunch was served between 1 PM and 2:30 PM and we had to juggle to make it.
The beach is clean and well maintained - chairs, towels and umbrellas are provided free of charge, however, you had to tip the personnel to pay any attention to your needs.
Rooms are decent and clean - nothing spectacular or worthy of 4 stars, and your AC will only work when you are in your room and your room key is inserted in a special reading device, feature normally seen in a 2 stars hotel.
We paid for two apartments and were totally surprised to see that one of them was on the first floor and the other on the fourth. Make sure you enter in your reservation comments all the specifics, like the rooms have to be together, sea view, balcony, etc. and do not rely on the hotel's personnel common sense to put a family with more than one room reserved in adjacent rooms.
The hotel has only one small elevator, always busy and not convenient for people with disabilities - be prepared to wait.

I would look for better value for the cost.

Spending the kind of money I spent on the rooms which was $250 x 3 rooms you would expect that you could have reliable wi-fi in your rooms and around the hotel property. 99% of the time the internet did not work in our rooms. It was also on and off around the pool. I guess in today's world wi-fi is important and everyone depends on it. Hate having to sit in lobby to do business. Also during a group meal one member was never severed their meal. We all finished and realized a gal never got hers. No one seemed too concerned.

Another thing that really bothered me was the Eastern Europe attitude. For example to get towels you get a plastic room card which you show at the pool and beach. If you loose the card you are charged 25 euros. No one lost their card but it was like the KGB checking you out of your room. If you can afford the price of admission is this heavy hand really necessary

It is a nice hotel in a good location it was with the prices and pictures we expected a lot more.

Although I have booked a room with see view at check in I have got a different one, I have claimed my type of room and finally I have got it, after they checked the Expedia original booking. This experience was not pleasant at all!

Classic style luxury, even off season

We took our chance for a Easter weekend on the Black Sea, and boy, were we rewarded!
First surprise: available through Expedia, super fast booking, and excellent rates.
Second surprise: outstanding staff.
Third surprise, and not a pleasant one: parking. Crowded and convoluted.
Fourth surprise, also not so much a pleasure: the air conditioning system. Works only on heating, or cooling, but not both, and cannot keep a reasonable constant temperature in the room. Lucky enough, the rooms have a balcony, and one can always open the door to let in some fresh air.
Fifth surprise, a very tasty one: Easter Lunch and Dinner available, both in buffet style, and most reasonably priced. The food was really exceptional! There was even live entertainment, and a clown for the little ones.
The sixth, and the greatest one: After-church welcome party, with cake, painted eggs and wine on the house. This one really brought tears to my eyes. Thank you!

I will return for: the great view, the clean and comfy room, the seating.
What I didn't like and I hope they will change until my next visit: they charge separately if you store food or beverages in the mini-bar(and you only find about this when you get to your room), wish they would let you know before you book. The mini-bar isn't cooling the stuff stored in it. The Jacuzzi was closed on Monday and on Tuesday(I think it is closed during weekdays), one of the reasons we chose the hotel was because it had a Jacuzzi so this was a huge minus for us. The room doors should be soundproof because you can hear everything that is going on in the hallway, I definitely don't want to stay here when the hotel is over 80% booked because of the noise. There was only one chair in the room and none on the balcony(room was on the last floor), would've been great if we found an extra chair on the balcony. The AC was on fan mode only, so no temperature control even though it got pretty hot, at one point there were 36 degrees Celsius in the room.

Went for a city break on the 1st of March. Price was 49 euro, with breakfast, for a double. Got a room with sea view, because the room was available and the receptionist was very nice. Otherwise you pay extra for the sea view.

First time in Mamaia and left a bit disappointed.

We felt a little short changed after staying at the hotel as the rooms were in excess of £150/night. This didn't represent good value in my opinion.

Most of the staff were't particularly attentive. One or two were good but most seemed put out to even speak to us. Check-in was okay, but during our stay, the service around the pool and seated outside areas was quite slow. We had to continually get someone's attention and were seldom served pro-actively. On check-out, the receptionist failed to even say thank you, after we paid a lot of money for 2 rooms for 3 nights, let alone a smile. Most of the staff seem very unhappy.

The rooms were very basic in appearance but clean. Certainly not anything to warrant the high price. There was no wifi in the rooms which is unusual for Romania where this is a basic provision. They did provide a cable though, but this allowed a laptop and our phones and tablets couldn't get service. Apparently, another part of the hotel had been renovated, but we didn't see this. Our rooms were the minimum one could provide.

Parking at the front of the hotel was inadequate. It's crammed in with cars, some in spaces and some just stuck wherever the owners could manage to shove them. After a while we got lucky and parked, and decided to leave the car their all weekend as it would be unlikely we'd get a space. The pool was an off-green colour and we decided to avoid it.

Great hotel with very friendly hotel staff. I was quite surprised how spacious our room was. It was pretty massive. Rooms were clean and in great condition. As the hotel is right on the beach, the view from our massive balcony was great. I recommend getting a sea-facing room. Their parking lot was always packed with no parking but this was no problem since we always parked right up front by the entrance and the hotel staff parked our car for us. We just picked up our car key on the way out. I'm told that the hotel is rather famous because it is built by a famous Romanian footballer. I highly recommend this hotel, especially since the rooms were so affordable.

Nice hotel, good distance from central busy area

Overall we enjoyed our stay here, loved the pool area outside & good choice of food for the buffets. Free wifi is also available inside and out. There were just a few minor drawbacks. Our booking included the half board option but when we arrived we were told this was breakfast and lunch, not dinner as one would expect and due to the check in & out time, this meant no lunch was included on the day of arrival nor the day of departure. Also the standard double room was in fact a twin room and because of the fixed lamp on the headboard in the middle, moving them together would have proved awkward for sleeping. The room also was in desperate need of updating & not 4 star quality but adequate. Finally the hotel only provided towels for the poolside but not for use on the beach - we were told we would have buy some.

Overal the hotel is nice. In the rush hours hard to find parking spot. Good restaurant (but prefer to go before 3PM because morning chef was brilliant and evening one same dishes could not eat).
