Best experience in Ávila

The entire experience was amazing. From the greeting, check-in, restaurant (should get its Michelin star), the pool and room. Service is over the top and the atmosphere unique. Highly recommend staying here when visiting Ávila.

Beautifully renovated, boutique hotel with only a few bedrooms. The pool is the most beautiful area, facing the wall of Avila and the restaurant of the hotel is excellent. Staff is outstanding.

This is a beautiful characterful hotel which gives a very personal service to guests. Spacious, well equipped bedrooms and delicious breakfast. We also had a dinner in the hotel restaurant which was delightful.

A Uniquely Beautiful Hotel.

This is a hidden gem. I really loved my large beautifully decorated room with a terrace. The staff were very responsive. Excellent service, very convenient location, beautiful decor, classy and authentic breakfast. I would highly recommend it and I will come back.

Amazing. Loved the decor and setting, beautifully done. Special praise for Sonya, who went above and beyond to make our stay perfect, including coordinating with airport personnel on delivery of our missing luggage. We loved the red wines from the owners vineyard as well. Put this on our must return list!

The access to the hotel parking is directly opposite the Hotel front door, access is tight but manageable. The Hotel is clean, well maintained and the staff are courteous and helpful. Breakfast was enjoyable. The hotel does not have a bar area but you can have a drink in the living room area. I think they should install a small bar with more suitable seating as they have space. We booked a junior suite, ours was on the 2nd floor, the attic area. Nice room but the attic structure is design with many areas for hitting you head so you end up walking around haunched over. I think the attic room is not suitable for taller people.

Very difficult to park the car. They did not turn on heating in our room before we check-in. When we checked out, the women first refuse to open the parking lot gate for us, then when we load our car, the gate close and cant be opened from the parking lot. The women can see the gate from where she sat but she did not bother to open the gate for us. We had to call her to open the gate. TERRIBLE SERVICE!

Charming place

Beautiful property adjacent to Avila wall. Being a former house of Adolfo Suarez, the building is historically relevant and an oasis of peace. Top quality furnishings and amenities. Lovely garden and small swimming pool open in summer. Adjacent restaurant serving delicious food in beautiful setting. We are vegan and had some adjusted vegetarian plates plus chef’s suggestion. Loved the stay, staff is very friendly although not all speak English very well, which didn’t bother us at all. One reported issue was dealt with professionally by the management. A thing to improve: frustrating soap panel in the bathroom- not handy at all if you want to take a bath.

Five star accommodation doesn’t even begin to describe this amazing boutique hotel. Every inch of it was stunning. The chef was incredible. Staff were so accommodating and tasteful. We could not believe the level of discerning taste for this price point. We hope to visit again. Our favorite hotel of our 5 properties visited on our trip. Simply amazing.

Small but classy hotel inside the walls

This is a small hotel in a converted private house. The rooms are calm and super comfortable, the bathroom was enormous, with a separate walk in shower and a free standing bath. Everything was brand-new clean.

They have a really nice, small garden, with a little pool, with a champagne bar.

The hotel itself is in a quiet area in the centre of the town, close to everything . There is public free parking within 50m.

Amazing Stay

My husband and I had an excellent stay in this hotel. Our flight landed early in Madrid the morning of our reservation so we arrived to the hotel before checkin time at 2. The hotel had reached out to us via email a few days prior to our stay and asked if we would be arriving early, to which I informed them we would. They had our room ready to go when we got there! We parked in their reserved parking, which was about 20 euros a day. However there is really only room for 2 to 3 cars there. There is other free parking down the road, if you can find any open spots. The town of Avila is great to walk around and explore. The hotel staff was very accommodating, even calling to make us dinner reservations in town, since our Spanish was not the best to do so ourselves. I would recommend this hotel to everyone! The room was also very clean with a nice large shower in the bathroom!

Perfect in every way!

5-star hotel, 3-star service

Overall an exceptionally beautiful place to stay. The hotel itself is 5 star, but we felt the service fell a bit short. It was the only hotel out of 10 that we stayed in Spain that actually helped us taking our luggage to the room. However, when I saw my new suitcase being kicked to get it to move forward as the staff struggled with two tiny suitcases, I wished that we had taken them ourselves. Breakfast was nice, but again, service fell short. One person on staff during breakfast service was clearly not enough as guests tried multiple times to get her attention. When there was only two couples left at breakfast, the staff completely disappeared. Another couple came down for breakfast and had to pound on the kitchen door trying to get the staff attention. Finally after 15mins or so they succeeded.

Wonderful atmospheric small hotel

Small hotel within the city walls - formerly the president's home converted to a small boutique hotel. Quiet oasis in town, excellent location, though limited parking. Had a spacious room with balcony. Well worth the money. Breakfast is not a buffet, rather ordered from a menu. Plenty of outlets to charge devices.

The “suite” was more like a room in an attic - we spent much of our time avoiding hitting our heads on the ceiling. Almost half of the room was inaccessible due to the low ceilings. When we checked in, the woman was extremely helpful and thorough. We asked about their restaurant and she made suggestions about their menu. Later, when we went to eat, the gentleman at the desk told that us there were no staff available because we had not made a reservation. That said, the hotel itself is absolutely gorgeous, wonderful amenities and in a great location in Ávila.

This is the former home of the first President of Spain in democratic times. It's new; it has only been operating as a hotel for a month. It's a beautiful place; a mix between a luxury hotel and a tasteful home. When you arrive, you check in at a reception area, which is like a private study. One wall is covered in bookshelves; one of these is a secret door, through which the president could escape. The girl checking me in explained the building's history, and showed me around the house & garden. She spoke fluent English; unusual in Avila.

The house is filled with antique furniture. The garden, beside the ancient wall of Avila, is beautiful & peaceful. There are 10 rooms: 2 doubles, 5 junior suites & 2 suites. They're all named; dialogue, peace, tomorrow...

I was in a suite, no 102, named La Liberdad (Freedom). It was tastefully furnished, & had a terrace overlooking the garden. It also had a tiny balcony, on the other side of the room from the terrace, which had a view of La Santa church (a minute's walk away), which marks where St Teresa of Avila was born (it's the only room with a balcony looking towards La Santa).

Food in the restaurant is excellent; many local dishes, along with an English speaking waitress who explains all the dishes.

It's a real luxury option; I've stayed in a few excellent hotels in Avila, including the Parador, and this is the best by far. The combination of comfort, homeliness and the personal touch make it a unique experience.
