The hotel was built in 1984. So, it looks like a 1984 high end luxury hotel. The room was huge even with a King bed. It has been modernized where there were USB ports for your phone. I slept so good in the comfy bed. A/C worked like a charm. Almost froze to death in the middle of the night. It was quiet. I didn’t hear another soul all night. It had a patio door you could use if desired. The receptionist was friendly and accommodating. We were originally booked on the second floor but the receptionist said she could give us a room on the first floor if we wanted. We took her up on the offer because of my bad knees. There is no elevator BTW. The floors in the room were tile. I prefer carpet but it was fine. Shower was powerful. It had a fridge and microwave, coffee pot and a desk. I have paid twice what I paid for this room at other “modern” hotels that were small and with no more to offer than this room. There is nothing I didn’t like. I had my doubts at first but those doubts quickly evaporated. The hotel is in a great location. There are restaurants, gas stations and a rental car place across the street. Highly recommend. Will definitely go back if need be in the future.

No food offered on Monday and Tuesday. Restaurant closed. Lots of issues with the housekeeping getting rooms ready by 4:00pm for check in. Lots of people standing around waiting to check in so they could get dressed for dinner plans. Rooms are needing updates. New mattress, ac unit would not turn on and off. It would get cold then ZI would have to get up and turn it to fan several times. The temperature adjuster was broken (they glued it so you couldn't turn it). Hallways are dark (bulbs need to be brighter). It is an older hotel but they need to update and fix things so they work correctly.

Loved everything about this hotel. The foyer is amazing. Yes it needs some TLC and the current owners are dealing with that. We really enjoyed the pool. Special thanks to the cleaning staff. Our room was spotless and smelled so fresh when we arrived.
In fact all of the staff were very welcoming.
Kerrville is a very pretty town and with a visit.

Our room was very clean and roomy. The bed was comfortable. The lobby is amazing. A little disappointed the restaurant was closed. Also, the saloon is closed on Sundays. I’ve stayed here several times and have always been pleased. We will return. Staff was friendly and the rates are great.

The front desk clerk was very welcoming. The room was nice and near the pool which was a plus. Although the clerk provided us a map, it was difficult to determine entry into the hotel rooms as the 2nd level of our room was only available on one side of the building. We had to figure it out on our own. Room was spacious and comfy. The only thing was they had signs saying their restaurant was closed. I do recommend staying here if you come to visit Kerrville.

The kitchen was closed due to maintenance issues. No food served at the bar either, due to the kitchen being closed. If I had known, I would have selected Inn at the Hills to stay. The YO hotel is older, but it was pretty clean and the pool and other amenities were nice enough!

The staff was very pleasant and efficient, especially the cleaning lady I think her name was Mo. Front desk ladies were also nice. Restaurant was closed for maintenance which was disappointing and not communicated when we made our reservation. The bathroom was very big and clean. The room was also big, really my only issues were the bed were so soft that you would roll to the middle if there were two in the bed and the ac took a while to cool the room sufficiently. We were upstairs and never heard hallway noise or our neighbors. Bar was open.

My room,specifically the bathroom, did not contain a couple of necessities. One being hand soap and the other was a towel or bath mat. I used a regular towel to step out of shower. The light near the tub was not functioning and you could tell it had been burned out for a while. The exhaust fan did not work,

The room its self was nice.

Water had been turned off from 11:30am the next day until around 7:30pm. I know that was a city issue but still leaves a bad taste in the mouth given the above. The restaurant was closed which I was looking forward too. So no breakfast or dinner. The property itself is nice nice and large
but definitely could do better on a personal level.

I travel a lot for work but I would no recommend this hotel at this point.

I took my husband here for a weekend away. I was excited about the pool and hot tub, the morning breakfast and trying out the steak at their restaurant. Check-in went well. The room was clean and nice. The hot tub wasn't working. The pool was really nice. There was no breakfast and no steak dinner as they did not open until May 22nd, the weekend after we were there. The town was cute. We found it funny that the movie theater was only open for the 3 pm matinee and then the 6 pm shows. But we still had a great time. We didn't have much contact with the staff but when we did they were very nice. Just wish the hot tub would have been functional.

The check in was a little rushed and unclear. We found our room large and comfortable enough. The bed was extra soft, so if you're used to a firm mattress, this is not your hotel. You will get eaten by the mattress. Convenient location. The pool looked nice, but we never saw the pool bar open. The bar on site is closed on Sunday, which was the only day we could have utilized it. They're was an art show going on and we popped in the last day, and it was nice. The restaurant was not open due to unforeseen circumstances. Not sure what that meant. For the price, it was decent.

The room's floor needed a deep clean, my son's feet were dirty from walking barefoot. The pool needed to be cleaned. The remote/tv didn't work well and we had to share a remote with the kids in the bunkbed area. Everything else was awesome. The decor was super cool.

I have stayed here several times but this last time was disappointing, front desk staff was not welcoming. There were 2 that were bothered when guest would ask questions. Air condition had to be replaced at 11:30pm in our room. I will say that the maintenance guy that came to replace it was very nice and apologetic for the inconvenience. He also responded fast when front desk noticed him.

No sheer privacy curtains (guess destroyed by moths at some point) so can’t let the light in without having people walk by and look into the room. Dark and depressing place. Will not be coming back

The room was clean, but the bed was horrible (lumpy and too soft) the pillows were huge thick and was told they didn’t have any others. We ran out of towels and coffee. The front desk was not concerned about any of our complaints or request.

Pictures they show online is definitely not the same as what you see when you physically get there and get into room rooms. Rooms were extremely musty and moldy smelling bathrooms. The tile was definitely molded around the edges very musty and muddy smelling cold and damp.

I liked my room. It was spacious, but dated. Outdoor access was great. Bed was great- low enough for a short person to get in. Great shower, old tub.
I learned ownership has changed and the hotel is being renovated.
The restaurant was closed, because of renovations.
No literature in the room about the hotel or area.
I hope the history of YO isn’t lost,
Guest need to know renovations are in progress before arriving.

There is no breakfast. Bar was interesting. Was our 25th wedding anniversary trip, told them, and they did nothing to make us feel special or feel welcomed. Pool was clean but full of baseball traveling teams all day!! Kids took lid off hot tub, not sure if it was even working, and they were spitting in it. Kids running around knocking on doors. Went to front desk to get more coffee for the room, line was too long so husband gave up. No way to call the desk and ask for more. No daily house keeping. Just wasn’t worth the money.

The property is an older hotel but has tons of capacity. We were part of a group that had 30 people and we were spread out all over the multi building property. The room floor was all tile, which is ideal because the hotel allows pets. My room had a tub/shower combo. Each room had a backdoor leading to a patio or balcony for upstairs rooms. The king size room was spacious, had a desk, a sitting chair, ample closet space and a decent sized tv. The sheets were clean, and the bed was comfortable. While the rooms haven't been updated in a few years, the lobby was spectacular. It is an old log cabin feel with mounts and a full sized bear on display. There is nice sitting areas and water and coffee was available. It had several meeting rooms and full sized restaurant. The breakfast was good. The bar at the hotel was easily the best part. Full menu of drinks and pool table and live music on Friday and Saturday nights. Both bands I saw were very good. There was a good sized pool and hot tub. Overall, the stay was nice and would stay again in the future.

I reserved a "Handicapped" room.....got anything BUT that. Yeah - it had handrails....at least 5 of them to "help" you step over the REGULAR sized tub! Another set of handrails by the STANDARD height toilet....
Oh - and it wouldn't be a fair review w/o mentioning the COMPLETE lack of ramps at the various entry points on the property - I was able to resolve that by holding onto the walker as my wife navigated the 5-6" CURBS from the parking lot to the property entry....and plenty of steps everywhere to help you exercise.
The FINAL insult? After taking a fall and bruising myself severely, we decided it was simply too unsafe. The staff PROMISED us we'd be credited for the stay....STILL hasn't happened.
I WILL be in touch with the state and local regulatory agencies regarding their LACK of handicapped access.

Room's need updating badly. Restaurant closed, it is only opened on Friday and Saturday nights. Pool was green, room keys didn't work never sent anyone had to go get them myself. We didn't even take a shower to nasty. Chair was nasty also. Breakfast was good 35.00 for 2 of us, 4 dollars for a less than great cup of joe.

I booked this hotel because they had a buffet with good reviews. The buffet shut down the week prior to our stay and the breakfast in the restaurant was pretty lackluster. That was frustrating.

One of the beds on our room didn’t have sheets on the bed so we called down to the front desk and a staff member brought up a comforter and said that the rest of the bedding was folded up inside. There was no offer for them to make the bed, they just handed the bundle over with the expectation that WE would make the bed. Come to find out, there weren’t any sheets in the bundle, it was just a comforter so we then had two comforters and no sheets! There were also several pieces of broken plastic on the floor of the room when we arrived which made me question whether or not the room had been vacuumed.

I wouldn’t stay here again. The location is okay, but I wasn’t impressed with the hotel or competence of the staff.

I would not recommend staying at YO Hotel. The overall experience was very disappointing from start to finish.

The room was extremely dirty and clearly not maintained to any acceptable standard. It felt neglected, and cleanliness is the bare minimum you expect from any hotel—especially at the price they are charging.

The staff was also quite rude and unhelpful, which made the situation even worse. Instead of addressing concerns, they came across as dismissive and uninterested.

Another major issue is the lack of security. The room doors are directly accessible from the road, with no controlled access, which felt unsafe—especially for families with kids. I would not consider this a suitable place to stay with children.

To top it all off, the pricing is far too high for the condition and overall experience. You can find much better value and safer accommodations elsewhere.

Overall, a very poor experience and not worth the money. I would strongly advise looking at other options in the area.

Consistently having problems with keys in our rooms all three of my guests .all three rooms.air conditioner would not shut off in two of the rooms. The yards have not been cut in months rocks all over the parking lots can’t even roll your suitcases. I have been staying here for over 30 years and it has gone downhill badly the last five. please help bring this hotel back to a four star rating. It’s too historic to let go like this.

Staff needs better training. Akways seems to be issues with computers. Ice machines had no ice. Another guest told me they had checked several of them. Maid service was requested twice, but showed up late in evening. My brother had to go to check in 5 times in 3 days because of card issues with the door to his room. I am disappointed in my first time there.

A grand lobby and hotel idea for sure but can come a little stronger with little things. I enjoy the lobby area and how much there is to see. I get the concept, lodge/cabin and the room reflected that. But there needs to be small upgrades. Could not figure out the ac and that can be bad in Texas. Furniture in room, hallways, dated and so is bath. Booked a room for four but had a bar of soap a little bigger than a quarter. No hand soap/ shampoo, conditioner. Nice grounds, pool area and lots of staff/ maintenance on property. Close to a lot of store/ restaurants and quiet. Even if it says break available online, that is not the case. Was told buffet was only available after Wednesday but left day before.

My daughter and I both got sick during stay bc of old A/C and mold in ceiling tiles all over hotel, Lukewarm shower.No soap in room. ,rust around toilet, no coffee in lobby in morning- I was told that it was 2 days old, light out in bathroom, no laundry bag, wood around the whole property was rotting.
