They gave me inside room without the windows. I was thinking to go try to change it first, but it ended up as a good advantage. As it was perfect to have a nice nap without any street distractions. The location of this hotel is right next to the walking street.

Location is the only reason to choose this hotel. It’s very close to some good simple restaurant options and the right distance to walking street (close enough to stumble back after a night of heavy drinking but not too close you still hear all the party going on). Amenities of the property are non-existent.

False advertising/Bait and switch.

False advertising, booked a room that was materially different than what was shown on the booking. Brought it up to the receptionist and was told that this is how they do business. They said it’s common for them to provide rooms that don’t match the booking description. Would not ever recommend to anymore. Will never return.

Decent property for a reasonable price at an excellent location very close to the noisy Bui Vien night life zone but actually very quiet since it is not that close The hotel is in a alley together with many other hotels, restaurants. People mostly European and American tourists sit on both sides of valley to drink, to chat day and into late night watching young people walking back and forth to the noisy Bui Vien street and dancing clubs. Love the amiable hotel manager Loan and her staff who all know me well as I have stayed more than 60 days this year.

The hotel locates in a short alley that goes out to either Pham Ngu Lao or Bui Vien. Though it is only less than 5 minutes walk to the noisy Bui Vien walking street, the alley is absolutely quiet with many other hotels and restaurants coexisted, lots of outdoor tables along the alley filled with mostly more matured Westerners eating and drinking beer quietly looking at each other and passers-by.

Hotel rooms are clean and fairly new, amenities are in good condition. Morning buffet is decent with different choices to adapt eastern and western guests. I extended my stay that lasted betwen Jan 10 to Feb 5 2019 with direct booking through the hotel manager Ms. Dung, an affable sweet young lady who is proficient in handling her tasks.

There is a modern shuttle bus #109 that goes between Tan Son Nhat airport (SGN) and Pham Ngu Lao bus station which is 3 blocks walk to the hotel for 20,000 vnd, less than US$1.00, a fraction of the normal taxi rate, and is good for travelers with wheeled luggages. There are lots of travel agencies with tour buses travel to all over Vietnam nightly in the area.

Overall I am pleased with my stay and would return on my next trip probably 9 months from now.

Actually I thought I was booking a different hotel. It looked like the same one as before and in the area I wanted to be, but when I arrived, I realized my error. The good part is this one was a little nicer, in a better area and was less expensive even. I am already planning my next return 😉

The location of the hotel is great. Less than a 5 minute walk away from all the action at Bui Vien street. However, I'd expect more from a hotel that charges almost SGD 50 for a standard room with a window. The breakfast is included, yes, but you're either looking for more than that like an in house spa or gym, more cleanliness in the hotel, better infrastructure, better planned rooms. I feel like I paid 10-12 bucks more per night for nothing.

We stayed for 4 weeks and had vip room at front of building but sometimes the music from the nearby park was very loud.
Having said this we intend staying there again next year but in a windowless standard room.

The location of the hotel is good for people who'd like to stay in the tourist areas. It's surrounded by plenty of restaurants, bars, and convenience stores - you'll never run out of options, out of patience, maybe but never out of options. It provides your basics like a bed, toiletries, breakfast, and room service, however, I'd have liked more facilities for the money they ask. Still, a decent choice if you're on a budget.

I have had better for a similar price.

I can’t fault the hotel staff. They were friendly and helpful at all times.

A/C doesn’t run unless you are in the room so it is quite stuff when you get back to your room. It takes a bit for it to cool down.

We were greeted with a cockroach in our room.

It was ok for what we paid for it.
I will probably look elsewhere next time though.

Didn't visit Ho Chi Minh City for almost a year. While this is my Holiday trip with 2 friends.
I recommend to book this Hotel for our 3 night stay. Each of us book a VIP room. Room is clean and big. Every of us enjoy staying here with all things that is so convenience to reach. Food restaurants and night life activities. While is good to stay here. Enjoy. 😊😊😊

Nice hotel that is close to the tourist district

We've booked this hotel on our last night in Ho Chi Minh City. It was a great hotel with very comfortable bed linen, and the best shower (pressure) we've used yet. Since it was our last night in the city, our flight was not until 5PM and the checkout time was 12PM noon, we've extended the checkout time it till 3PM paying only 30% extra (10 USD roughly for the Twin Bedroom with Window) which we're very happy about, instead of paying for a full extra night.

I'm back to this hotel again. For my business trip. What I looking for is a nice big bad to sleep. A hot shower after a day of hard work. A convenient location for me to get some nice foods. A cozy room for me stay in to do some work, think and plan. That's all I need and this hotel provide me all.

Convenient hotel smack in town

I got a comfortable and convenient room that gave me rest when I needed it, and entertainment when I wanted it. It was windowless, but given the noise on the streets of Saigon, this was not a bad thing.

Transport is easy to get, and while street vendors would tout their wares to you, none got aggressive or unpleasant.

The place are very convenient, Staff are very friendly, near to all restaurants and nightlife area. One more there is a bus station near by. Which you can take bus 109 direct from airport to this area.

Modern Hotel in a Busy Old City. Very Nice Hotel!

Gia Ven is a modern botique hotel that offers comfortable and clean rooms at an affordable price. Even though the hotel is located in the heart of the backpackers area where clubs, bars and restaurants adorn the streets, Gia Ven is a quiet side street offering noise-free rooms. I loved this hotel because it is very modern for the price. The hotel is only a couple years old. The beds are nice and the bathrooms have all of the amenities needed. The staff are friendly and the internet inside the rooms is reliable. I would stay here again if I was in the area

Room smelt like smoke, previous guest had smoked in there. Reception would not move us but said they would clean it, which consisted of lots of air freshener (which didn't work). Air conditioning remote had no batteries and was set to a very low temperature so could only have this or off which was annoying. Shower didn't have enough hot water for two people. One the morning of check out I was asked at 10.30 to leave the room in 10 mins so they could clean. I explained check out wasn't until 12 noon, and my partner had gone out so I couldn't move all of our luggage. They were persistent but in the end allowed me to stay in the room (that we had paid for until midday!). We stayed here 2 years ago and it was in great condition with great service. For the same price, something has gone very wrong! Would not recommend now, which is a shame.

Hotel facilities may need improvements.

The floor was quite coated with a layer of dust and grease and the vanity TOP at the bathroom have ants crawling around and the bathroom was dimly lit.

Wifi connection was great and password protected and connection was smooth.

Except for Friday nights when it get crowds drinking at the pubs along the same stretch of the hotel and it can get very noisy until 2-3am Saturday nights was better.

Location wise can be quite difficult to locate as its along a small road and not very visible from the main road.

Great location and good value for what you get. No windows in my room but I just used it to sleep, bring girls back and then have breakfast. Breakfast was extensive and well prepared. Staff were helpful if not overly friendly. Maybe it is a big city thing. Overall I was impressed and would stay here again.

The Asian people in many cases do not like confrontation and many are not respectful of time and when people should be sleeping. Hotel staff are hesitant to deal with the problem. Be aware of this when booking competitively priced hotels.

Do not waste your effort with this horrible hotel

Terrible hotel . Toilet faulty . Tap not working well . Flushing ia terrible . Air con is set to 18c but yet only blowing warm air. Receptionist couldn't care less. Morning breakfast was a torture. All five (5) hotel staffs stood at a corner and chat away while hotel guest are suppose to serve themselves. The milk was sour (prob leftovers from last night)

Totally should not even be recommanded.

Spent 2 nights here and booked a day trip to the tunnels though the accommodation, which was very good. The room was quite small, but really that would be my only negative comment - otherwise our stay was very nice.
