This is a very nice property with a few quirks. Our accommodation was an apartment overlooking a small lagoon with kitchen, ample living area, bedroom and nice bathroom. It appeared to be fairly new. From the living area was a small sunroom overlooking the water and icebergs floating by. Getting to the apt from the lobby was bit of walk over 40 stairs and an outside gravel area as it was detached from the main hotel. This made it difficult to move luggage, yet it was part of the charm. Breakfast was excellent. The property is a good, not level walk from town and there are ample taxis if walking becomes a chore. My wife and I highly recommend this hotel, but if you have mobility issues, stay in the hotel part, not an apt.

We booked Aurora cabin for 5 nights. The room and views are fantastic but the service was terrible

I informed the hotel before we arrived that we were vegetarians which they acknowledged but still left a meat sandwich in our room as a freebie

When my wife went to the reception to discuss this the lady at the receptionist wanted evidence that we had sent an e-mail, which was really disappointing

Even worse we had dinner in the hotel. The menu had 2 vegetarian choice which were OK. We mentioned we were staying 5 nights and asked if the chefs would be able to cook something else and we were told that was not an option. Interestingly the hotel had a vegetarian pasta salad in lunch menu. We asked if we could have that for dinner

Disappointingly we were told they couldn't do that. I cannot understand why any restaurant let alone a restaurant in 4 star hotel cannot accommodate such small request

Would not recommend the hotel based on service

Beautiful setting. A long walk from town, but there is a twice hourly bus that makes it simple. Property is spread out, so get ready to haul your gear over gravel and stairs with zero offer of help from the staff. Decent breakfast.

It is probably the best hotel to stay in Ilullisat. It is clean in a good location, and the majority of the staff are good, except for the odd new person. The food though is quite poor, the selection is not great, and not great for vegetarians. They are inflexible to accommodate.

There's a lot of good stuff to say about this property. First, it's owned by Air Greenland so if your flight is canceled or delayed (as was ours), they put you up in this hotel, which is the closest one to the airport. The city bus, which only costs a couple bucks and runs every 30 minutes, actually stops in the parking lot. Too, there's a free shuttle to and from the hotel from the airport. The restaurant and bar are a real plus, but the breakfast buffet is the best one we had in 3 weeks in Iceland and Greenland. It puts all others to shame. The trick is to fill up there and save the cost of lunch before spending your life's earnings on dinner in Greenland.

The downside to the Hotel is that it's not close to the city center or restaurants which is either a short bus ride away or about a 20-minute walk. The Icefjord Center is completely on the other side of town and the grocery store is in the city center. Taxis are expensive (what isn't in Greenland) but readily available.

We loved the view from the room. All the icebergs floating outside the window were awesome. Too, the boat tours are about a 15-minute walk from the hotel.

The staff was particularly awesome in helping us when our flight was initially canceled and then significantly delayed the next day (typical Greenland weather). I'm a walker and there aren't that many hotels and restaurants in Ililusat. I really think Hotel Arctic is the best of the bunch.

The only thing that’s good is the view! The rest is all terribly terrible, the staff not helpful, rooms are dirty & smelly, the website advertises amenities all false! Definitely not a 4 & half stars hotel. Will never be back.

Fantastic hotel on the coast with great views on the icebergs. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment for 5 nights and it was excellent all around. The breakfast had a great range of choices. We highly recommend.

Stayed in one of the cabins which was wonderful. Very spacious, heated floors and gorgeous views. The only downside was getting to the room, as they are outside you need to walk along the external footpath, parts of which are stone/gravel and very uneven to reach the wooden path. It was quite difficult getting a heavy suitcase up the stairs in the freezing cold.
Staff were friendly, food was excellent and there is also a free shuttle to and from the airport. Make sure you book with reception the night prior to departure. Approx 20 min to walk into town or you can get the bus or order a taxi at reception. The bus timetable is displayed at the reception desk.

The rooms were nice and clean, the staff very friendly, but Martin the chef/server at restaurant Ulo was amazing! You can tell that he loves his job, he was very polite and cordial.

I stay 2 nights in the glass cabin and it was the highlight of my trip!

Glass cabin is nice but small

We stayed one night in the glass cabin. The view is nice but the room is quite small. During day time on a sunny day the room can get pretty warm. One other thing I didn’t realize before the stay was that any small LED lights at night are reflected on multiple glass panels which could be annoying for some. I would opt for a larger suite in the main building next time.

Each night we were able to watch a whale play in the bay with the sun setting behind it with beautiful icebergs. A very mice way to end the day. The hotel is just outside the town but it was easy to get in by taxi or bus.

景色がとにかくすばらしく、ゆったり過ごせるホテル。食事は、朝食のビュッフェも、夕食のレストランもどれも美味しかったです。アパートメントは洗濯機が設置されていて、アクティビティで汚れた服をすぐに洗えて助かりました。ただ、日中の日差しでお部屋が温室状態になり、窓を開けると蚊が入るため、夏の白夜は、睡眠環境づくりに苦労しました。

Rigtig fint ophold med 2 overnatninger på selve hotellet og 2 overnatninger i panorama hytten.
Få ikke hytte 811, det lyder som alt vand og skyl kommer igennem under hytten. Heldigvis var kun få hytter beboet 😊.
Ellers en virkelig god oplevelse at bo i panorama hytten.

Fantastiskt läge med utsikt över stad, hamn och hav. Rummet var helt OK, med sköna sängar. Badrummet tyvärr opraktiskt med få avställningsytor.
Receptionisterna väldigt trevliga och hjälpsamma med allt. Kan tyvärr inte säga detsamma om restaurangpersonalen, som har mycket att lära när det gäller service och trevligt bemötande, oavsett om det gäller frukost eller middag.
Ett plus för shuttlebussen till och från flygplatsen.

Rigtigt fint hotel med fantastisk morgenmad. Måtte vente lidt på lufthavn transfer da vi ankom men den var gratis. Der går citybus til byen ca, hver halve time. Koster 15 kr. man kan også gå ned i byen men hjem er bakken stejl.

Hotellet har den mest fantastiske udsigt. Man bliver afhængig af at vågne op til den hver dag.
Morgenmad er ok, ikke noget særligt. Men dog virkelig gode pandekager.
Værelset er rigtig fint. Jeg nød at bo der.

Es begann damit, dass ich dem Hotel bereits 2 Monate bevor ich buchte, eine E-Mail schrieb und 2 kurze Fragen hatte zur Buchung. Als nach 3 Wochen noch keine Antwort kam, schrieb ich über Instagram und fragte wann denn eine Antwort kommt, diese kam dann 2 Tage später.
Richtig helfen konnte man nicht. Service gibt es hier absolut nicht. Wir buchten eine Nacht in einem normalen Zimmer, welches bereits sehr abgewohnt war. Der Wasserkocher war glaube ich von 1980. Die Betten sehr durch gelegen. Die Aussicht war allerdings super.

Beim Check in wurden wir so gar nicht freundlich begrüßt. Der ältere Herr sprach scheinbar kein Englisch oder verstand einfach nichts.

Es ist absolut kein check in vor der Check in Zeit möglich auch wenn sehr viele Zimmer frei sind.

Wir hatten nach der ersten Nacht noch 2 Nächte in den Aurora Cabins gebucht. Davon waren auch 4 frei. Also man konnte sie noch buchen. Dennoch mussten wir spätestens um 10 aus checken und konnten dann erst wieder 16 uhr einchecken. Absolut umständlich und hat nichts mit Service zu tun. Die Koffer ließen wir im Hotel. Dort stehen sie in einem Raum der für jeden zugänglich ist und nicht verschlossen war. Mit einem unguten Gefühl sind wir also den ganzen Tag unterwegs gewesen.

Wir zogen dann abends in die Cabin. Ja sie sind toll. Aber wer schon mal in Norwegen oder Island in solchen Cabins geschlafen hat wird enttäuscht sein. Sie war wirklich sehr klein. Es gab 2 Flaschen Wasser und 2 eingepackte Sandwiches. Keine hochwertig
