The room was very clean and in good condition. I was pleasantly surprised that there was housekeeping even though we were only staying two days on the weekend. It would have been nice to have an itemized receipt emailed. We did give a deposit for \"incidentals\" that were not used so we are expecting a refund of the hold.

Hotel definitely was shopworn and needs updating. Expected decent furnishings as it represents a well known furniture store. But along with the carpeting which definitely needs to be replaced, the furnishings were in poor condition. One of the reasons it was selected for our stay was because it advertised “hotel restaurant and bar” but it was closed on the Sunday night we stayed. Suite was a decent size and easily accessible to the highway- only two positives in our stay.

I booked for 5 nights. I paid in full upon arrival. After the 3rd day, I received an additional charge. After inquiring by calling the front desk, the receptionist informed me that I was checked out of my room. While visiting with my family, I had to race back to the hotel 49 miles to straighten out the discrepancy, because, of course, I couldn't reach the manager by phone. Zero apologies from the staff for the MAJOR inconvenience that that caused me. I will never stay here again.

This place is so tired. I went to put something on a shelf and the shelf started falling off the wall. The carpets are filthy. The bedspread was dirty. It was just horrible. I guess you get what you pay for the staff was great thank Goodness for that. We didn’t even complete our stay we checked in and after our event we left we didn’t even sleep the night there.

The showers broke on first night, maintenance could not speak English so it was hard understanding. Breakfast was cold eventhou waitress was pleasant. Christina at checkout was rude to my partner. I will not recommend or stay there again.

My stay (July ‘25) was not a good experience; however, my recent stay (May ‘26) was much better. The room seemed recently renovated & cleaner than my previous stay. Maid service was very accommodating and attentive to our needs. The front desk could use customer service training. I called a day prior to confirm booking because my last visit there was an issue finding my reservation and ended up being charged double for one night. The woman who answered was rude and condescending as if she was being inconvenienced. And during my recent visit, the desk clerks were abrupt and seemed annoyed by the simplest question upon check-in and check-out.

They accommodated an early check in for us after our red eye flight. The rooms were clean and well stocked with toiletries. There was a water shut off while we were there and a broken faucet handle required us to change rooms during our stay. Otherwise, the stay was pleasant. It’s a great centrally located hotel near freeways and shopping in Danbury

The staff and the room were excellent. The room was extremely clean and all furnishings in good shape. There was a prom goimg on in one of the ballrooms and the staff took great care to isolate the guest rooms well away from the festivities. If you book directly through the hotel, you get a voucher for breakfast, which is yummy. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

The accessible room failed for my husband who is in a wheelchair. The toilet angle and shape made it hard to transfer off. The shower chair provided was filthy. The shower wand was so short he could only bathe the top of his body. It was very upsetting for both of us.

We traveled from far away, didn't know what to expect when we got there, we made hotel arrangements and it didn't work out the way it intended on our end, the staff were quite friendly and they made magic happen. The place was very pleasant, clean, quiet and extremely comfortable. We needed adjustments made to our reservations which was not a problem as well, the amenities were available any time we needed and it had a 24 hour snack store on the premises, a delicious breakfast at the restraunt in the hotel as well, and complimentary coffee, tea, & coco bar with everything needed to enjoy, very elegant fireplace that was in the lobby, it was very peaceful, we really loved the hospitality and the team work there of everyone. The rooms were very clean, the linen was crisp, the bathroom was prestine as well, there is so much to list that brings the joy just thinking of it there. I recommend anyone else, if they are looking for a pleasant stay, this is definitely the place to be.
All employees and management was extremely beautiful & in the future, I am bringing my family back to stay at this hotel, highly recommended.
Thank you for everything you've done for us to make it an enchanted stay, you all have built memories that is in our hearts appreciated for years ahead, you have demonstrated elegance that we have not found anywhere else we have traveled, we felt very blessed.

The room was very cold. The heat didn’t work and there was only one extra blanket. The lights in the room were very dim. The bathroom faucet dripped. The TV channel selection was very limited and there was a delay when you changed channels. The person who checked me in was not very friendly and not overly helpful.

The staff was friendly, professional and helpful. The room was clean and nicely appointed, but some of the furniture was dated and scratched up. The bathtub has the strangest mechanism to operate it and the way to get hot water is counter intuitive. The biggest problem is the lighting. I feel that there is not enough lamps for the suite that I was staying at, and the wattage was so low on the bulbs that the room was very dim with all the lights on.

Ethan Allen is a respected name in the Danbury area. As soon as you walk into the hotel lobby you can feel the \"glamour\". But that is as far as it goes. Don't get me wrong the hotel is okay, but it isn't what you expect by what you see when you walk in. The rooms are outdated. I was in a room that had stains in the carpet, walls, mold in the mini fridge, low water pressure in the shower head, and a broken faucet. It was clean, but because of these issues during my stay I got the feeling the it wasn't completely cleaned if you know what I mean.

We stayed 2 nights. The lighting in the room was just ok...Excellent in bathroom. Night light feature would have been helpful ; and another light in the anti-room for reading.
The upper plug at the desk electrical outlet was too loose to hold a standard recharging plug and wouldn't adequately charge my phone; tried using the upper plug at the coffee station but that too was \"loosey goosey\"..
Breakfast bar was standard fare but very nicely presented- raisin bran cereal was stale; eggs were delicious; apple was way past fresh; but melons were tasty.. Staff were very polite; our room, hallways, lounges and hotel entry were very clean/ no odors. Great location for travelers along Rt 84. Not sure how it would be when there was a conference in session or the hotel more crowded. For use it was very good ; and we would not hesitate to stay there again

Everything was wonderful. I stay at the Ethan Allen when I’m in the area. Lately it has been because my mother has had to go into long term care in Danbury. Very stressful, but at the end of the day I come back to a restful room, smiling and accommodating staff, and good food so I don’t have to go searching for something eat. I think this hotel's focus is more on events planned in their event spaces than on the actual guests that are staying in the rooms on the property. We called the restaurant onsite to ask questions/request room service but they hung up the phone on us twice. Requested the free shuttle service to the train station 5 minutes away and the staff responded as if they had no idea what I was talking about. Free shuttle available is listed as part of their amenities both on their website and on their listing on Expedia. They did eventually, begrudgingly offer to arrange a shuttle for us but since we were not guaranteed a return shuttle on the way back to the hotel we decided not to take them up on their offer. The room was clean. The breakfast buffet was minimal. The location was good, safe and suited our needs.

This hotel is the best in the area. Staff is very helpful and kind. They put fresh baked cookies out every afternoon. I have a Service Dog and she was treated so very kindly by all of the staff. I highly recommend this hotel.

Check was quick and efficient. I was greeted with curtesy and professionalism. The room was a bit worn down. The furniture was banged up and didn't glide well when opening up the drawers. The lighting was very dim. Maybe install higher wattage bulbs. One of the lamps wasn't working at all. The shower was difficult to figure out. Water would not come out unless you pull the knob very hard towards you. Not a good design since too much pulling over time has caused the knob to be very wobbly and loose. Also, I finally saw the instructions on how to use the shower, but that sign was so high up the wall that I missed it the first time.

It was heaven this time. Beautiful room, bathrobes and slippers even!! The staff were so accommodating. I just wish the office center was useable. I couldn’t figure out how to print or use their desktops even. And they didn’t seem to know either. I ended up going to the staples down the road. But that’s ok. I think 99.9% don’t normally need an office center. We all travel with our own office these days.

We had a last minute stay due to a heat issue at home, with a late evening check-in. We had to change our room three times before we were able to settle. Doors wouldn’t lock. Heat wouldn’t work. Third room was a sauna with ants in the bathroom.

Hotel was clean, but it wasnt easily obvious due to how dated everything was. Furniture was worn down, rugs stained. Wallpaper peeling in places.

I have been here in the past for parties, but have not stayed in the rooms. I was a bit surprised at the decline

The room and building were clean. Location off the high way was really convenient and it was close to a huge mall. Several restaurants were only a five minute drive. The room itself was a double full bed suite and it was clean and spacious. One thing to note, no smart tvs which would’ve been nice, we were traveling with children and there were like 20 local boring channels/ no cartoons or movies.

The lobby is great! So enjoyed the fireplace in superior comfort with a glass of wine on a snowy January evening. If the room and staff were as pleasant, EA hotel would be the permanent stop for passing through Western CT every time. Will try again before deciding.
