The staff was friendly, professional and helpful. The room was clean and nicely appointed, but some of the furniture was dated and scratched up. The bathtub has the strangest mechanism to operate it and the way to get hot water is counter intuitive. The biggest problem is the lighting. I feel that there is not enough lamps for the suite that I was staying at, and the wattage was so low on the bulbs that the room was very dim with all the lights on.

Ethan Allen is a respected name in the Danbury area. As soon as you walk into the hotel lobby you can feel the \"glamour\". But that is as far as it goes. Don't get me wrong the hotel is okay, but it isn't what you expect by what you see when you walk in. The rooms are outdated. I was in a room that had stains in the carpet, walls, mold in the mini fridge, low water pressure in the shower head, and a broken faucet. It was clean, but because of these issues during my stay I got the feeling the it wasn't completely cleaned if you know what I mean.

We stayed 2 nights. The lighting in the room was just ok...Excellent in bathroom. Night light feature would have been helpful ; and another light in the anti-room for reading.
The upper plug at the desk electrical outlet was too loose to hold a standard recharging plug and wouldn't adequately charge my phone; tried using the upper plug at the coffee station but that too was \"loosey goosey\"..
Breakfast bar was standard fare but very nicely presented- raisin bran cereal was stale; eggs were delicious; apple was way past fresh; but melons were tasty.. Staff were very polite; our room, hallways, lounges and hotel entry were very clean/ no odors. Great location for travelers along Rt 84. Not sure how it would be when there was a conference in session or the hotel more crowded. For use it was very good ; and we would not hesitate to stay there again

Everything was wonderful. I stay at the Ethan Allen when I’m in the area. Lately it has been because my mother has had to go into long term care in Danbury. Very stressful, but at the end of the day I come back to a restful room, smiling and accommodating staff, and good food so I don’t have to go searching for something eat. I think this hotel's focus is more on events planned in their event spaces than on the actual guests that are staying in the rooms on the property. We called the restaurant onsite to ask questions/request room service but they hung up the phone on us twice. Requested the free shuttle service to the train station 5 minutes away and the staff responded as if they had no idea what I was talking about. Free shuttle available is listed as part of their amenities both on their website and on their listing on Expedia. They did eventually, begrudgingly offer to arrange a shuttle for us but since we were not guaranteed a return shuttle on the way back to the hotel we decided not to take them up on their offer. The room was clean. The breakfast buffet was minimal. The location was good, safe and suited our needs.

This hotel is the best in the area. Staff is very helpful and kind. They put fresh baked cookies out every afternoon. I have a Service Dog and she was treated so very kindly by all of the staff. I highly recommend this hotel.

Check was quick and efficient. I was greeted with curtesy and professionalism. The room was a bit worn down. The furniture was banged up and didn't glide well when opening up the drawers. The lighting was very dim. Maybe install higher wattage bulbs. One of the lamps wasn't working at all. The shower was difficult to figure out. Water would not come out unless you pull the knob very hard towards you. Not a good design since too much pulling over time has caused the knob to be very wobbly and loose. Also, I finally saw the instructions on how to use the shower, but that sign was so high up the wall that I missed it the first time.

It was heaven this time. Beautiful room, bathrobes and slippers even!! The staff were so accommodating. I just wish the office center was useable. I couldn’t figure out how to print or use their desktops even. And they didn’t seem to know either. I ended up going to the staples down the road. But that’s ok. I think 99.9% don’t normally need an office center. We all travel with our own office these days.

We had a last minute stay due to a heat issue at home, with a late evening check-in. We had to change our room three times before we were able to settle. Doors wouldn’t lock. Heat wouldn’t work. Third room was a sauna with ants in the bathroom.

Hotel was clean, but it wasnt easily obvious due to how dated everything was. Furniture was worn down, rugs stained. Wallpaper peeling in places.

I have been here in the past for parties, but have not stayed in the rooms. I was a bit surprised at the decline

The room and building were clean. Location off the high way was really convenient and it was close to a huge mall. Several restaurants were only a five minute drive. The room itself was a double full bed suite and it was clean and spacious. One thing to note, no smart tvs which would’ve been nice, we were traveling with children and there were like 20 local boring channels/ no cartoons or movies.

We've stayed at this hotel many times to visit family in the area. It is just ok. And each time we visit, we notice it needs more updates. Although clean and comfortable, it is becoming quite dated and worn. The price is good, but it could use some updates.

We had issues with the heating system. Staff came out to review and did a diagnostic review and found nothing wrong. That did stop cold air from blowing in the room. We spoke with front desk and felt we should be compensated. Manager was supposed to contact us but they never did.

The room should have been cleaned better. There was a small empty liquor bottle on the floor behind the refrigerator and there was something dried on one of the throw pillows on the bed…it could have been food or snot. Also the room could use updating, the wall paper was separated in several areas and the carpet looked old.

Trash piled by backdoor overnight.
Kids running up and down hall until after10m without parental supervision. Parents were loud as well. Receptionist not very customer friendly..pub closed.
We have stayed here numerous times and never had these issues. ? Are you being paid by govt to house immigrants...something has changed here!

When I was growing up, the name Ethan Allen was synonymous with quality. This hotel was anything but that from the front desk staff to the room conditions to the food. The lobby looks good and that’s where it ends. The hallway carpets are filthy with worn spots and even holes in some places. There were wrappers on the floor and a broken ice machine before we even got into the room. The bathroom is small, outdated and in poor condition. The style of toilet is so odd because it is very low and wide where you almost have to sit sideways. The drain was 1/2 out, the bottom of the tub was dirty and worn, there was hair on the floor upon our entrance, peeling wall paper, dusty furniture, non-working tv and floor lamp in the bedroom area, missing closet door and the headboard of one bed was tattered and peeling. For the 3 nights we were there as a family of 4, we could only get 3 wash cloths total which is disgusting. I had to specifically request daily cleaning otherwise they don’t provide that until after a certain number of nights. Every day we had to request more towels as 2 towels for 4 people is not enough. The restaurant is worn down. When we first arrived for breakfast, all of the chafing dishes were nearly empty, what was there was cold in the bagels were hard and stale. It was also very strange to know that rooms are being occupied for medical reasons and to see medical personnel walking between rooms with hospital tray tables. No one seemed to care at the front desk at all. They were rude. The breakfast staff were very slow and unresponsive. The gym had water on the carpet from the water cooler. The place was sadly in disrepair. It was not an enjoyable trip. I had issues with my allergies and could not stay as I was not able to sleep there well. I asked for a refund and was not helped. I will not stay again and will highly encourage friends and family to stay at other local hotels.
