No frills hotel. Very good staff and very clean hotel. If you are going to Munich for Oktoberfest, this is the best place to stay. Less than five minutes walk to the site. Other than that not much reason to stay in that area.

So the staff told us this building used to be artist residences/school. Rooms are very high ceilings and roomy. We had a car and there was a spot to part for 15 euro/night, which was worth it.

A complete and total gem! We booked a family room for one night but ended up staying two due to an emergency and rerouted trains. They welcomed us back as old friends and gave us a discounted rate for the second night booked on the fly. Quiet street with beautiful historic buildings, short 5-minute walk to Theresienwiese subway station, 15-minute walk to main train station Munich HB. Superior decor, comfortable bedding, AC that works and is quiet! Terrific breakfast and lovely, friendly staff. Five stars all the way around from us.

I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Uhland. Staff are very friendly and helpful, the location is nice and quiet but within walking distance of the city centre. Wonderful restaurant nearby called Marie Therese which serves authentic Bavarian food.

At first, we were apprehensive about the hotel from what others have put on the Internet. When I stayed there for 7 nights, I find peace and I felt safe. No issues with toiletries as I got my own shampoo and shower gel. The room was speck clean. I was able to hook my computer to the tv screen via my hdmi cable and stream movies to watch on it. I was able to feel at home with my own tv programs and radio music. The hotel provided my basic needs. I just had to make myself comfortable with my own things. Love the stay there and it was memorable. Btw, even without the aircon, the room was well ventilated and we we able to sleep well.

I was in Munich for Oktoberfest so it was the perfect location. Typical European hotel. My only complaint was the shower was a little finicky. It would go from cold to very hot during my shower. No AC so I didn't sleep very well. Again, that's typical. Staff were friendly and super helpful. I would stay again only in cooler months. I like it cool when I sleep.

Terrible place. Don’t recommend you at all. I had to travel early in the morning. I had a problem with the safe box. This place doesn’t have staff counter 24 hours. But they leave a “emergency number” to call. I called to ask for help cause my passport was inside the blocked strongbox. A guy that doesn’t want to identify himself, didn’t want to do anything, he said “it’s not my problem”, that I had to pay him 70 euros to come to see what’s going on. This guy was a rude, aggressive, and indolent person, as I have not seen before. Don’t go this place. If something happens to you (heart attack, stroke, slip down the stairs, any other problems) “it’s not their problem”, nobody will be there to assist you.
Moreover, they didn’t have AC, they said “this is Germany”!. Not even a fan. What a dissapoinment!

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Uhland. The staff was friendly and helpful with suggestions about what to do in Munich since it was our first visit to the city. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable. And the location was great: close enough to walk to museums and parks, yet in a nice, quiet neighborhood. I highly recommend Hotel Uhland and would stay here again on a return trip to Munich.

Beautiful old house very close to Munich Altstadt and otherwise easy to travel with bus and U-Bahn. Wonderful German breakfast was definitely the cream on the top. The only thing was that our cellar unit was not thoroughly cleaned for a long time. There were dust everywhere and on the closet shelves (I first had to clean to then unpack!) and everywhere else too. Floor was not very clean either. All together we were out a lot and didn’t complain to them. Ladies at front desk very were nice.

Hotel Uhland is a marvelously maintained historic building with large rooms and high ceilings. Modern bathrooms have been added to the generously sized rooms. The service is very attentive if you wish attention. Breakfast is the best. Served on fine China embellished with blue flowers.

We particularly liked our room. If you are able, request the basement room. When they first told us that our room was in the basement, we were somewhat taken aback; however, we discovered that the room was more like an apartment. The room had a bedroom, a very large living room with a sofa that converted to a bed and another bed that could be pulled out, and it also had a small kitchen.
