The stay at Mantenga is a refreshing experience. Its set out within such scenically beautiful mountains. Property placement is cleverly thought with such an ever present cool breeze. The staff is quite courteous and friendly, ready to assist at any goven moment. The food was amazing, in terms of breakfast and lunch. The buffet breakfast is rated 6/10. Lunch rated 7/10 proper restaurant and fresh organic foold. Overally, i would rate Mantenga 6/10 which is fair for the reason that their room presentation falls a little bit short of expectations. Whereas they’re immaculately clean in terms of bedding & bathrooms with 24hr warm shower water. The downside comes on lack of basic amenities like drinking bottled water for guests though of cause there’s running water in the bathroom. I also found the lack of a refrigerator frustrating for a hotel of that magnitude. The lack of cable or internet TV was another negative as that is something standard in most if not all well to do hotels. The air conditioning units where rather slow in response and difficult to use though they kept the room warm.
Bed comfort wasn’t so good or bad either, rated 5/10 in that regard though the linen was extremely clean, no spots even under UV light. The general ambiance of Mantenga is great such that, I would recommend anyone visiting Eswatini to stay. There’s conveniences , close to the mall with all shops and amenities. I would definitely stay with them again on my next visit

I had a wonderful experience. Everything was perfect—the rooms were comfortable, and the atmosphere was peaceful. One of the highlights was enjoying breakfast on the deck, which offered a beautiful view of the trees and mountains. The scenery really stood out and made the mornings extra special. I highly recommend Mantengo Lodge for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway surrounded by nature.

We had a very lovely time at the lodge. The restaurant serves excellent dinners. Breakfast could be improved as the scrambled eggs are the only included option and one must pay extra for an omelet or sunny side up eggs. Bring a flashlight for evening return to cabin as it is dark and walkways and stairs are uneven

The restaurant (food and views) is very good. Service is very friendly and nice. Room are spacious and comfortable and similar to the photos. The place is quiet and surrounded by lots of beautiful vegetation. I would stay there again. The only negative side was that I was there for work and from my room there was minimal wifi reception, but from the restaurant it worked fine.

Everything was great until we asked for an ice bucket to keep our water bottles cold. There are no fridge in the rooms. Although they FINALLY gave us an ice bucket, they outright refused multiple times. They told us we could have one glass of ice.

Around 10pm, the office staff switched off the internet, phones, etc. and left the premises. The security guards said this was because there was a storm. I was trying to work… Overall, it’s a nice place. The food was good at the restaurant. I found that some of the staff would benefit from external customer service training.

Air conditions not working. All old and not maintained. Changed room twice and at the end they had to put a noisy heater. Also rooms are not cleaned properly. The ashtray in the room wasn’t cleaned from the previous stay and in another room a mouse jumped out of the air condition. Big ants are everywhere.

The views were amazing and the lodge is central to other places which provide activities (e.g Mantenga Nature Reserve and the craft market).
During my stay, we experienced poor WiFi network.
The breakfast menu is very limited, will probably not be suitable for vegetarians or vegans.
The staff is very hospitable and friendly, showed care and respect.
The lodge in and of itself is a beauty and the botanicals that surround the lodge are a serenity for anyone who finds pleasure in nature.
The beds were comfortable and the TV has a USB port, which came in handy when the channels were not viewing anything interesting.

The view is exquisite from the deck & restaurant.
Staff are very friendly and helpful.
Rooms are very neat and staff are trustworthy - I'd left some money on my nightstand unintentionally in the morning, and when I got returned to my room that night, every cent was packed neatly in a pile on my table, so well done to the cleaning staff.
Bathrooms, showers especially could do with a bit of an upgrade.
Rooms could do with another electricity plug socket, and internet is very slow.
Overall, very nice and neat accommodation and excellent value for money. The food is excellent, and breakfasts are a real feast.
The views are worth every cent, and any shortcomings (rooms wise) of this resort are more than compensated by all other positive aspects.
The staff are excellent and very helpful in every respect.
Mantenga Lodge is by far my favorite resort in Ezulwini, Swazilad.
Well done to the owners, they are very hands-on people who run a respectful and professional business.

We loved Mantenga lodge. The staff are super friendly and very helpful. The location is spot on if you want to shop for local crafts. We went to the candle making shop which was great, house on fire had a super lunch there, had lunch at Mantenga Craft Centre very good. Our dinners and Mantenga lodge were delicious, service great, loved our breakfasts. Just a super little hotel to stay at!!! Will be back. Only downside is the WIFI is very slow, but as we are in the mountains it is understandable.

Wonderful hotel with unique touch

I immediately loved Mantenga Lodge when I arrive. It's a unique setting with a beautiful outdoor area. The garden, the dining area and the rooms blend well with nature without sacrificing comfort. Everything is done with such a respect for the environment! The staff is very welcoming, they even went out of their way to help me prepare a little surprise for a friend. Their response was much appreciated. Travelers will notice the attention to details at Mantenga. Everything is done with such simplicity and elegance! That is what I loved the most.

My stay was good and the food was excellent. The room was large and comfortable. Laundry service was same day and reasonably priced. WiFi worked well. One power failure during my stay was quickly sorted out by the standby generator. Water quality is good. Staff were friendly and helpful. Check in and check out were quick and efficient. They accepted American Express and all other major credit cards. The car park was close to the accommodation and travellers need to be aware that there are lots of steps as the site in built on a hillside. Great views of the 'Execution Rock' mountain. Close to the Mantenga waterfalls and Cultural Village in a nature reserve with a nominal E50 [ ZAR 50] entrance fee.

The Mantenga lodge is located in a pretty area not far from Mbabane. We first did a booking for one night only but then immediately booked a second night as we loved the hotel so much. From the balcony of our lovely little hut we had a view to the forest. We could sit outside and enjoy the nature's sound and it was so relaxing. The staff was just wonderful and friendly and the dinner was absolutely great. We got some good recommendations on what activities to do during our stay by the manager. She even arranged the booking of a very interesting tour with a local guide for us. The Wifi worked well closeby the restaurant but not constantly well in the room where it disappeared here and there. This might be related to the Swasi network, however. The Mantenga lodge has a very good price/value relationship and we can recommend it anytime.

There were no shower caps in the bathroom, lotions only soap.The restaurant service was terrible. We had to wait for about 15-20 mibs to be served drinks. I was not feeling well and asked for Eno and the waitress disappeared and got feedback from her after an hr. The matre'd / floor manager did not even greet nor come near our table, I could not help but notice that she only went to tables where only white people were sitting, at the time we were the only african people sitted there, not even after we ordered food just to come n check if all is . Later another floor manager I assume came and informed me that they did not hv the eno but bircarbonate of soda which I was not comfortable with. I appreciated the fact that she later came and offered Rennie but I did not have heartburn though but appreciated the effort. What was surprising was to see the better treatment rendered to white people and we left early than we wanted to as we did not experience a good service. Later a guy came and asked if we were fine. We asked for the bill and had to wait for morethan 15 mins again. I trust you will find my feedback useful for areas of improvement. Please move the glass holder in the shower, I bumped myself morethan once. Security guard was so friendly, and the Reception (sorry I did not get the names)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mantenga Lodge. The outdoor covered deck was a perfect place for evening meals in a relaxed environment, and the food was excellent and good value. The manager was very personable and concerned for our comfort and enjoyment, and we enjoyed chatting with her. The rooms were spotless and very comfortable, and the whole staff was conscious of our well-being and security. The price was very reasonable as well. I would certainly consider returning to Mantenga Lodge in the future without second thoughts.

Mantegna Lodge is in a beautiful area of Swaziland. The restaurant was very good and has a beautiful view. Beware monkeys over breakfast! The pool is lovely but could do with a few more loungers. Our room was a good size with good air con but a bit basic. We had a lovely stay and would recommend it. Staff were very friendly.

Perfect get-away and lovely food!

We stayed two people in one of the lodges with a forest and mountain view. The lodge is perfectly located near many sights worth seeing. We were very well taken care of by all the staff as well as the owner who made sure we had a comfortable stay. She even took the time to advise us on what to see and explore in Swaziland. The food is however the absolute best part of the this lodge. I can't remember eating a better dinner in the region. I would definitely recommend this lodge to others!

We stayed in one of the lodges with a view of Execution Rock from the veranda. The room was comfortable, in a quiet, natural setting. The room rate included a full breakfast buffet at the lodge's restaurant, and the selections from the dinner menu were also very delicious. All staff were very friendly and provided excellent customer service. Would definitely return.

A pleasant stay

The hotel is not a luxury site, with basic accommodations. However, we chose the superior room (with mountain view). It was a lovely room with a balcony/deck including small table and chairs. The view of mountains was mostly blocked by the vegetation, but it was private and pretty. The staff was very nice and the location good, close to the cultural village and craft shops as well as the wildlife sanctuary.

Went for a quick and easy weekend away. Glad I chose Mantenga Lodge. Its hidden away from the busy life and town noises but is still so close that we could enjoy the shops. rooms 15-22 are by far the feature rooms and would not even consider the rest, the view is of a lovely mountain with no houses on so it truly feels like you a miles away from anything. Awesome view from the wonderful dinning deck and service is always with a big smile.

Serene atmosphore neately nestled in the hills, attached to the famous Mantenga falls and the swazi cultural village. This place is perfect for bush babies and outdoor adventours of all forms. Do a hike or ride your mountain bike to enjoy the breath taking views and spot some indeginous flora from upclose. Excellent value for money. Will definately stay there on my next visit to Swaziland.

The view is fantastic and it is strategically situated to the Casino and local markets as well as the candle factory. Lots to do and experience without having to go to far and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was relaxing and peaceful! Very happy and would recommend to any-one.

We paid for a chalet which provided a good size room and balcony with great view of surrounding mountains. Restaurant offers reasonable food but when were there it was empty. Second night we chose to go to lively local restaurant. Easy access to all Ezulwini activities. Swazi Trails is right next door - provides lots of activities. Recommend the white water rafting - great fun. Hotel staff were very polite and helpful.

The location is a definite beauty. The restuarant food what good and rooms were nice and spacious except for a cramped, windowless bathroom/toilet. In comparison to other Ezulwini hotels I felt that there was that something missing- could not put a finger on it but I think it was more to do with hospitality. The younger restuarant staff was good and interaction was great but the older persons seemed more like distant, disciplinarian headmasters who preferred limited contact. Otherwise, a beautiful location.

Quality of Service was outstanding, sign posting from the Main Road could be better. We stayed in the Bungalows below, Garden is great did not like the access from the car park to the room, passing other guest seated in front of there rooms!! Rest be a sure was great.

Quaint Lodge with Great Restaurant

We enjoyed our one night stay at the Mantenga Lodge. We liked the layout of the property and the great views of the mountains behind the lodge. The property is in a secluded spot and had a very peaceful and relaxing vibe after a long day on the road. Very quaint.

We loved our little A-frame cabin. It had a great view from the balcony and all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. It was clean, well maintained and everything worked as expected. There is also a nice restaurant on the property which had a great dinner menu at a modest price. The next morning was gorgeous so we chose to have breakfast on the expansive restaurant patio. That was special for us.

The service was great throughout. No complaints. For the price, you can't go wrong staying here.

Nice stay in an old but very good lodge

We came here for two nights on our honeymoon trip. Just booked one day ahead and everything was fine when we arrived.

Nice little two an three room houses. The bathroom is outdated but clean. We had here a great time the breakfast is very good an a lot of choices for such a small hotel.

The stuff is always friendly, smiling and laughing. We had a lot of fun whith them.
There is a nice swimming pool too, but it was around 10 degrees around ( it s winter now !)
So we didn't juse it.

The restaurant has an awesome Montain view ! And the food is at least the same categorie.
Perfect steaks and good an fresh ingriedences.

Lovely Location

We stayed for 2 nights. The person who checked us in and out was just sad. It is obvious she would rather be anywhere else. Housekeeping and the breakfast staff were delightful. The place is in serious need of an update, especially the baths. I have recommended Mantenga to my family, who will be visiting from the states in a few weeks. I told them to not be put off by the front office woman.

Enjoyed our stay

Good location, sufficient activities around the area. Entrance road a dirt track, and difficult in loaded conventional car. Rooms were basic but clean. There were better rooms and I would advise people to consider these, as they looked better and had some superb views. Restaurant was excellent, cheap and a wide choice. Internet access is useless, connectivity OK, but speed so slow as to be un-useable. Staff friendly. Overall I would stay there again.

First Rate!

I cannot find a negative thing to say about Mantenga. The only thing is location. Be prepared to walk to The Gables (not far) for shopping and eating (if you do not eat at their wonderful hotel restaurant). The Cultural Village is close by as well. Well worth a visit. The food, service, staff, and rooms are spectacular and the view is worth the price of booking. Enjoy the monkeys in the morning as well.

Fantastic in Every Way!

I think that if I ever make it back to Swaziland (and I do hope to), this is where I will stay. The rooms, service, food, staff, etc. were all exceptional! And, the price could not be beat.
