I loved everything except the glass bathroom door. It’s just personal, you can hear everything and when the light is on at night you wake everyone up. But the hotel is amazing, the staff are lovely and the views are incredible. The buffet breakfast option at Waves is well worth it.

Our suite was very nice, but the furniture needed some updating! Also, the air conditioner was extremely noisy and when it was on, it stayed on without shutting down when the temperature reached its point… Was disappointed that there was no common areas in the hotel for sitting as opposed to just staying in your room!

Very convenient arrival from the tram. Hotel is nice, although the rooms are a bit dated. Perfect location to head to the beach and all it offers. Wifi signal was pretty weak from the room, but possibly because we were on the end. Shower is a bit difficult to climb into if you're on the shorter side. All in, I'd definitely recommend this historic hotel and would stay there again if I return to the area.

Property has potential,but not with current management... outside looks great. So does dinning places and hall... Corridors, are ok... But rooms... Very outdated, dirty and small.. bathroom needs remodeling years ago.. cleaning... What cleaning?..we got our bathroom floors more dirty after cleaning was done! And they left cleaning chemicals next to toothbrush.. no towels replaced. And when we told from desk, just reply- will leave message for morning shift..??? So I guess no managers in evening? And on check out- we told all that. Not forgetting mold in shower.. person didn't do anything, he wasn't even surprised at our complaints -it was ordinary thing for him.. in guess I hear it son often, they stop dealing with complaints..

The property has an magnanimous and historical style. It has a wonderful terrasse, great restaurant, and a fully equipped spa. We have been to the Kurhaus on many occasions, particularly during Xmas's, when the Kurhaus has had special programs, and enjoyed a truly Dutch Xmas. The rooms are nice, and updated. The elevators could be faster, but in a 4-story buidling, it is not terrible to take the stairs to its unique mezzanine and then down to the Kurzaal, the restuarant, and the terrasse. The surroundings of the hotel are full of restaurants, the Scheveningen pier is unique. Shopping is abundant. The beach is accessible, full of restaurants and beach clubs, but also available for public. Wide sandy beach. Overall, many things to do for adults and kids. The only negative is that for people who may be looking for an idyllic environment, the Scheveningen area is a bit commercialized and busy.

This is a great place to stay on the beach, the area is a bit dangerous at night. When we arrived, we saw two teens doing drugs outside, you are right next to a casino. The room was very nice, sheets and bed were great. The tub was very very dangerous. The shower was in the tub, it was a big step down. I had to ask for help out of the bathtub as I'm not too tall. It was slippery too. The breakfast was almost like an American Breakfast, it was really good.

It was ok. Relied very much on how grand the place was. The mattress’ were extremely soft. My double bed was 2 singles pushed together so was very uncomfortable as they kept moving. It wasn’t a bad stay just not great! Just so other guests know it’s €47 a day to park!!!!! Crazy

We really enjoyed our stay here! We spent 3 nights in The Hague and stayed in a superior room, sea view. We were on the 4th floor and had a great view (even with some construction going on at the beach). Since we stayed in February, it was a little too cold for much beach time, but we enjoyed opening the balcony doors and hearing the waves and seagulls and having the breeze come in. The bed and bedding was very comfortable, and the room had ample storage.

The hotel was decorated with a lot of art, some of which show historical photos of the property which was cool to see.

The spa facilities were really nice too, which was a BIG factor in our booking here. That and the view! There was a steam sauna, infrared sauna, and standard sauna. Then a variety of showers and a cold water shower bucket, which was amazing after the sauna! All the spa areas are co-ed (men and women together), and all ages, so pack your bathing suit because you don’t want to miss this amenity. The spa services are reasonably priced as well!

One recommendation is to skip their breakfast buffet. It was very pricey for very lackluster food. We found a spot just a few places down along the boardwalk with a buffet at a small fraction of the price and better quality, in my opinion. There are a lot of dining options within walking distance, and the tram stop is a two minute walk from the hotel.

We hope to come back in the summer. This boardwalk and beach look like they’d be a fun way to spend a summer vacation!

Vergane glorie - Kurhaus is niet meer de moeite waard.

Het gebouw is prachtig, mooi om binnen te kijken. De medewerkers zijn onaardig en niet attent. Tassen konden niet naar de kamer gebracht worden toen kamer nog niet klaar was, dienden we zelf op te halen in een achteraf kamertje. Kamer was schoon, mooi uitzicht op het strand. Wel enorm gehorig, in de ochtend wakker geworden van de wekker van de buren. Mensen die door de gang liepen klinken alsof ze naast ons bed stonden. Horeca is schandalig slecht. Jonge gasten die graag willen maar alle vorm van aansturing missen. Ontbijt was een drama; ontbijtzaal een bende, volle tafels met smerig bestek en borden. Enorm gehorige ruimte met weinig service. Al met al niet het gevoel gehad echt een nachtje weg te zijn, geen gevoel van service gehad door staff van hotel. Helaas, want het gebouw en de ligging zijn nog steeds prachtig.

Rooms are outdated. Hotel charged us 40 EUR per night for a kids bed - what a joke. No upfront info on Saturday party which made sleeping until 2am impossible. Wi-Fi has been a disaster. Staff tried their best, spa is very nice but overall not worth the money. As the Dutch people say: vergangene glory .. sorry but I expect more from a grand hotel.

The property itself is beautiful! We booked a room with a view of the water and got a room on the front corner, which meant we could look back out of one of the windows to see the water. It is hard to tell how the restaurant staff in the hotel was as we sat down at a table and for 20min no one came to it. However, they made eye contact several times. The restaurants in the area that we went to over the 4 days were great! I also mistakenly left a dress hung up in the closet which I realize is my own fault. When I called for it later the day that we left, they said that I had to put it on the ilost website to get it back. I posted it and the dress was never found. I returned to the hotel a few days later to see if they had it and they said they couldn’t find it. Make sure you pack all your things or the cleaning staff may be taking it home with them.

Great location and view!

Can't beat this location and view! The rooms are a bit tired in decor, and there's some construction on the terrace (we were there off season though), but the rest outweighs it. One tip would be for them to promote their bicycle rental more (with a cheat sheet for cycling cues and signage) as well as the dunes nearby where you can bike for miles. Definitely an advantage for tourists who want to have a Dutch cycling experience (without the stress of trying it in Amsterdam).

slechte communicatie

1) weken van te voren contact gezocht om parkeerplaats te reserveren, hotel bleek telefonisch onbereikbaar en site info onbetrouwbaar. bij aankomst bleek het onmogelijk de auto (te hoog voor parkeergarage) te parkeren daar er tijdens ons verblijf wel degelijk plaatsen vrij waren. Ondanks al onze inspanningen moesten we de auto kilometers verderop parkeren.
2) bij aankomst vroegen we of we moesten reserveren voor het diner in het restaurant, nee dat was zeker niet nodig was de mededeling, aangekomen bij het restaurant bleek het compleet vol, we hadden moeten reserveren?!
3) toch gegeten aan onhandige tafel, bediening viel op door ordinaire kauwgum kauwen (tijdens gehele dienst) en voor iets simpels als een kopje koffie en drankje moesten we onbegrijpelijk lang wachten.
Kortom, gastvriendelijk was het allemaal niet!
