A terrific hotel

A lovely modern hotel with a fresh, clean and environmentally positive approach. Our room was spacious, spotless and well equipped- so nice to have a kettle. The toiletry products were very nice. The bed was comfortable and the room was very quiet. Staff were very friendly and hospitable . A great place to stay.

Great experience and manager was so helpful. The hotel booked us taxis at a reasonable rate to and from city centre. Breakfast was lovely. I needed ice to store medicine and he always helped. Great service - would definitely come again!

This was a lovely hotel that my family really enjoyed. The staff was most excellent and kind, and the check-in and check-out process smooth. The breakfast buffet was great! A few things we didn’t enjoy: the mattresses were way too hard. Also, there are still some cute pictures of a children’s playground on the property page here on Expedia, but the staff told us the playground was taken down during COVID.

The hotel sits outside or on the edge of the city (there is a farm across the street), but Ljubljana is small and the distance from the hotel to downtown is walkable for those with some energy. Three guys booked the apartment which is next to the main hotel building. A Murphy-bed in the kitchen/dining area and two single beds in the bedroom. The room was clean, bathroom modern, and relatively quiet (large road outside with trucks). The breakfast was decent. Parking was just outside the building and did not have an issue finding a spot.
Overall a good price and I would recommend.

Just one problem: we needed air condition, while other guests asked about heater. This is because our room was at the very end of the building, facing other property, so not much fresh air could come to our room. The hotel is modern, stylish and extremely clean. My sister, niece and myself shared a room and found it perfectly adequate, although we could have dove with a little extra storage. The beds were very comfortable and the walk- in shower was amazing. The AC in the room was very welcome after a hot day. The staff at the hotel must get a special mention- they were lovely; very friendly, informative and helpful. We couldn’t have wished for more. The hotel is quite a distance from the centre but we knew that when booking. We enjoyed the walk on a morning and used the €4 taxi service on an evening. The rural location meant the hotel was quiet and we were not disturbed. Breakfast was good- we got a varied selection and excellent quality. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely hotel.

Superb Hotel and Staff, Great Location!!!

This was by far the best hotel we stayed at in our entire trip to Europe. The room and hotel was very clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the shower was not small like most showers in Europe! There was a great variety for breakfast of both hot and cold foods as well as fresh made eggs if they are out, and you can also enjoy a pizza or bruschetta and some wine/coffee/drinks anytime day or night. It is only a short drive to the parking garage in town & a short drive to the autobahn. We also took advantage of their deal with a taxi company and the taxi always arrived quickly (within 5 minutes). Everyone speaks great English as well.
While all of these things alone are great, what especially stood out at this hotel was the staff, especially Klement. He was the one at the hotel when we checked in and was also working in the evenings we were there. He always had great recommendations for restaurants in town and other places & activities that we would not have known about had it not been for him. My husband and I had a couple wines that we especially enjoyed in the evenings at the hotel that we wanted to bring back home to the US, and Klement gave us easy to follow directions to a store we could buy them at. He also recommended another wine he thought we would enjoy based on our tastes. We also got to speak with Andrei once and also a young lady at the front counter, and they were both extremely helpful as well. The next time we stay in Slovenia, we will definitely stay here.

Katarina was our seal clerk and she was wonderful. She welcomed us. Oriented is to the hotel and our rooms. She then mapped out our afternoon and evening with recommendations and helpful suggestions that were app on; up to date, relevant and suited to our needs. The Laguna Cab connection worked well with the hotel arranging departure and with our call at 11pm our return from Congress Square. Ljubljana along the River is a special place in the world. Unmatched.

Excellent in every way. The taxi service is wonderful. Note that you can also walk to town from the hotel - it’s not that far and there’s lots of cafes along the canals just past The Josip Precnik Museum.

Breakfast was a wonderful selection, and they even put up lunches for us the day we had to leave very early so missed breakfast.

Our room was comfortable and quiet; breakfast was good; onsite parking is easy; discounted taxi to and from the city center is available. But what stood out for us about Ahotel were the welcoming and helpful people behind the desk. Andréj R in particular was a great ambassador for his city and his country; we enjoyed his friendliness and enthusiasm and appreciated his helpful suggestions for dinner wine tasting. We recommend Ahotel without reservation and would gladly stay there again.

Ok, so what this hotel may lack a little in location they make up in customer service!!

I would say it is 3k outside of the old town, however they have an arrangement with a local taxi company, and for 3.5 euros they will arrange a taxi into town, and you just call them and they arrange one back. The airport transfer is just as good.

The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, And nothing is to much trouble.
The breakfast is pretty much what you would expect when bread, cereals ham cheese etc in a nice bright clean area. There is also a car park if you are touring.

The rooms are spacious and comfy, and made up everyday. With tea and coffee making facilities, a safe and mini bar.

Aprentley the hotel is 10 years old, but you wouldn’t know, we all thought it had just been refurbished it is that spotless.

A hotel i would return to and certainly recommend

Lovely modern hotel and an ideal stop off place to visit Ljubljana especially if you have a car. Five minute taxi ride to the centre and the hotel arranges everything. All the staff are very helpful and happy and nothing is too much trouble. I definitely recommend this hotel.

The hotel is located in a quite part of Ljubljana, but is is only a few miles from the city center. Rooms are in excellent condition and beds are very comfortable. It is very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast had a lot of variety and items are of high quality. I recommend it highly to visitors to Ljubljana.

The hotel itself was great. Staff could not be more accommodating. Breakfasts were fresh, and rooms clean. The only minor setback is the location (about half an hour walk to the city centre), however the hotel has a deal with local taxi company and for the flat fee of around two bus fares can get you anywhere in the city.

Nice little hotel less than 5 min drive to the city center. Good spacious rooms, and good free WiFi. Staff all helpful. Fantastic vacation spot due to such helpful staff!

We stayed for three nights and loved the feel of the place. Staff was super helpful and went out of there way to be of service. It was convenient for them to arrange taxis to and from town, so you could have the convenience of town but the quiet of being a little removed. Breakfast was super and we really enjoyed visiting with Andrej , he was really interesting to talk to. The bathroom was redone beautifully and we enjoyed spending time in the outdoor space.

We stayed at Ahotel on our last night in Slovenia. The hotel is on the outskirts of Ljubljana convenient to the expressway and the airport although it was a 30-40 minute walk to the city center. The staff was very friendly and helpful, giving directions, arranging airport transfers and a pack lunch for our early flight since we would miss their breakfast. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the hotel is in a quiet setting. If you want to be close to the city center there are likely better options but if you enjoy a nice walk home after dinner or if you want a base with easy access to the countryside, this is a great choice.

Modern & well designed gem

On approaching Ahotel I was slightly concerned about where I'd booked as there was no sign of a city! However as one review if read said, if you're in a car this is the best place. It's not long off the motorway and parking was easy. The actual hotel was great. All very modern, clean and well designed. The staff were extremely professional and helpful. They arrange a taxi into town which is less than 10 minutes at with the temperature at 37c was a no brainer. We had a 1 bed apartment which was great. The bathroom was a great size, there was a partial kitchen off the lounge which included a good size fridge and dishwasher. Our children had the pull down sofa bed in the lounge which was very comfortable yet there was still space to sit as there was a little dining area. The bedroom was spacious and contained the air con unit - much appreciated in the heat. There were plug sockets everywhere which is great when they're 4 of you with things to charge. Free breakfast offered a good selection. Very impressed with the place.

We stayed in the apartment facing the main road the cars were a bit noisey through the night but once window was shut was fine , we had a pull down bed in the living room for the kids aged 6 & 2 but I was in happy for my 2 year old daughter to stay in as it was a drop to the tiled floor if she was to fall out so I asked at the reception for a travel cot the maid brought us round made up within 10 minutes , hotel organised a taxi into the city as a reduced rate for hotel guests of €3.50 , a great stay with a yummy breakfast Selection 😊

A week in Ljubliana

A couple of km of of town makes it quiet, easy to park and a great base for visiting the rest of Slovenia.
To get into Ljubljana is a short drive, with good car parks, or a taxi ride if you want some wine.
Staff very friendly & helpful, ready to advise about anything. Snacks at the bar if you can't be bothered to go out & plenty of wine, beer.
For the price, very good.

Stayed at the Ahotel Hotel Ljubljana for two nights in June. The stay was perfect. Staff was always smiling and willing to help. The hotel is very clean. Rooms are extremely comfortable. Breakfast is delicious and complete. If I ever visit Ljubljana again I will definitely stay here.

We stayed at Ahotel for 2 nights. The staff were so nice and welcoming. The apartment we stayed in was huge, really modern and clean. We loved our time at Ahotel and would definitely return here. There is nothing I would do to improve this hotel. A side note was that we had a car, if you stay here you will need to access taxis to ready the city centre or have a car or enjoy walking about 30 mins each way into the city. It's nice to be a little bit away from the hustle and bustle of the city though.

Awesome Staff and Quiet, Clean Hotel

My wife and I loved this hotel. While it wasn't in the center of Ljubljana, that turned out to be not a bad thing. The area is nice and peaceful, the room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was outstanding. They made us feel so at home. Andrei, Klemen, and Urca were especially great. Klemen has great suggestions and he always helped us putting together day trips. All in all, great experience.

The A Hotel was superb. The staff were great and we worked with 3 of them as we were there a few days. They gave us suggestions for things to see, how to get into and out of the city, good restaurants and even helped us order in Pizza. The Hotel is away from the city which is nice.

Good hotel, good breakfast, clean, great shower, very nice staff, lots of parking, easy to find. Nothing else in the area, about a 40 min walk to centre of old town (castle). I found three pubs about 15 min away, but all closed by ten pm- on a Friday night! There is a cafe bar at the hotel, but super boring, with plastic tables,chairs- like a hospital cafeteria.

A Nice Clean Hotel With A Very Friendly Staff

We were looking for a hotel in Ljubljana and came across this one that was just off the highway and only a few km from the heart of the city.
It's a small but cosy place, very clean with rooms that are mid-sized. I was a bit disappointed in the \"deep soaking\" tub that was deep but very short. I'm 6'3\" and it was about 4' long.
But it was the staff that really set this place aside from others. Our receptionist, Andrejv (I think that was his name) was just incredible - very friendly and helpful - he had left a bottle of champagne and fruit in our room with a handwritten note welcoming us to our room. He also gave us a map directing us to a wonderful restaurant downtown and showed us where we could park and where all the sites were.
He even knew about Canadian hockey and we had a great chat.
Breakfast was also very nice with a waffle station and lots of fresh fruit, cheese, cereal and bread to choose from.
Highly recommended!!!

For someone driving in Europe, this was a pleasant surprise. Location was perfect, close the city and only a mile and a half straight in to the center. Also close to the autoroute, but in a quiet location. Elevator is new and rooms are clean and very comfortable. Parking is next to the hotel with a large lot. Staff was very courteous and helpful.

Comfortable Stay A Short Distance From Old Town

The hotel is clean. Breakfast is good and basic. The beds are comfortable. The area is very quiet and close to the Motorway. Parking is free. The staff are friendly and helpful. The city center is about 30 minutes away by foot. The hotel has an arrangement with a taxi company under which guests can go to or from the center for just €3.50.

The Ahotel is perfect for those who need a place to sleep during busy days out exploring (in Ljubljana or further afield in places such as Bled). It is not ideal for lingering. Nor is it the place for those who want to step from a hotel directly into the midst of cafes or clubs.

In short, for the right person, the Ahotel is a great choice.

A superb family hotel

We were a family of four with two young children. The hotel was just what we wanted in terms of space. The breakfast buffet was fantastic and a big hit with the kids, especially the waffle iron. The staff was exceptional. So helpful and friendly. Their assistance and recommendations made our visit to Slovenia the highlight of our Europian vacation.

Great hotel, poor location

Great breakfast and wifi, very helpful staff, quiet room. I prefer public transport and it is not a good location for that. The road has no footpath. It is better to take the 28 bus from the airport and then taxi from central station, total 11 Euros. To get around I'd walk about 40 minutes to Ljubljana. Nice hot breakfast with sausages and scrambled eggs. Staff gave good directions and I was able to see a local football game, good atmosphere though only a few thousand there. Supermarket just over 1 km. Front counter did some printing for me and got a taxi for me on the last day.

Lovely Long Weekend

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay here. The location is not ideal if you only plan to see Ljubljana, but the €3.50 taxi fare to the city is a bargain. Just be careful when coming back, we got charged €15 by another company one evening.
The hotel is beautifully clean and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast is good, we especially liked being able to have freshly made waffles. They also have a well stocked, very reasonably priced bar if you just fancy a quiet evening at the hotel, which we did one night.
We arrived by car with a plan to see more of Slovenia than just Ljubljana and picked the hotel due to its free parking. If you plan to do the same, you can't go wrong with this hotel :)

Nice quiet location just 5 minutes from centre of Ljubljana, but you need a car. Also ideally placed to get on the motorway to explore further afield. Plenty of free parking in the hotel car park. Limited but adequate breakfast choice, staff very helpful and friendly, overall would recommend.

A mixed bag

I was one of several people staying in this hotel for a conference. I cannot praise the staff highly enough for their helpfulness and concern to meet individual needs. This did not compensate for the fact that the lift seemed to be permanently out of service and that the air conditioning in my room could not be adjusted.

Very enjoyable stay, staff very friendly and helpful, and although a little way out of town a good deal with a local taxi company meant it cost very little to reach the centre and return...would definately recommend this hotel to friends.

Excellent choice of a hotel in Ljubljana. 10 min drive from city center, 5 min drive to the highway. Very comfortable room. Extremely friendly staff, great breakfast. I would come back at any time.

Clean Modern Hotel with helpful staff

Modern clean hotel with good spacious rooms. Nice bar with outside seating. Staff very friendly and helpful, including providing information on trips etc.

About 5-10 minutes taxi drive outside centre (most would probably feel too far to walk) but hotel has a reasonable deal on costs with local taxi firm (3.5 Euros to Centre).

Would definitely stay again if visiting city in future.

Comfortable stay at the Ahotel

Great comfortable stay and highly recommended. Good night's sleep and off the beaten track so nice and quiet. Very helpful and friendly staff. Good choice of breakfast items including cake, yogurt, waffles and fruit. I appreciate a few reviewers will have complained about the location from the City Centre but we enjoyed the 2km walk as it's a lovely flat trek down to the river and along the path into the centre. We did this a couple of times and there are also café bars to break the journey if you wish to. The road from the hotel is not a track, it's a good wide road and straight stretch with very little traffic hazard and plenty of walking space so don't be put off (I don't understand why some reviewers refer to this as a country lane!). Good Taxi rates from the hotel if you don't fancy the walk. Great stay and Ljubljana is terrific, small city and compact with great architecture and plenty to do. Can't really comment on the neighbourhood as you hardly see anyone!

Great hotel to stay in especially if you need parking, which is free.
Staff were great, Niki on the front desk was so helpful.they have a deal with a taxi co which has a set price of 3.5 euros to city, great value.
Would definately stay there again.

We stay in this hotel/apartments one night in April. We we're welcome by very nice guy in the reception - it was Friday afternoon , the apartment was very comfortable and clean , the hotel location very good just 5 min drive from the city center. Next morning- breakfast very good , we check out before noon but this time there was different person in the reception - the gentleman was rude - ask me to pay city tax witch was already included in my booking than when I ask about car park in Ljubljana he answer like his is makeing me big favour - not nice at all!! Overall I would stay in this place again - apart from this only one receptionist - the hotel is great!

Clean, modern room

The staff at this hotel were excellent. The location of the hotel is great if you have a car as it is just out of the main town, easy to find and provides free parking. The breakfast is good and served in a bright airy room or outside. The room was large and modern.

This hotel was more like a hostel

The beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable with thin matresses. No amenities were provided with the exception of a liquid soap dispenser. The location was far from the city center and there were no restaurants or shops nearby.

A motel not a hotel. Charmless and spartan.

Not recommended at all. Very expensive for an out-of-town motel, very expensive for Slovenia, very expensive compared to UK. About as much character as the Holiday Inn Express in Basildon, probably less. Utterly functional. Bare room (and we had a deluxe room). No fridge. TV perched high on wall. No safe. Bit like a staying in a halls of residence or a posh and open Swedish prison. Long walk into town. Only good point is they had car spaces - if that is important to you - and easy access to ring road.

excellent hotel

A hotel is a little outside the city centre but worth it for the quality of the hotel. The hotel have an arrangement with a taxi company and have negotiated a considerably cheaper rate for their customers. Lunch and dinner is not served in the hotel which is the only drawback.

Eşim ve kızımla birlikte konakladık. Odamız çok temizdi. Kahvaltısından oldukça memnun kaldık. Çalışanlar gayet güler yüzlü ve ilgili davrandılar. Bizim için tek handikapı şehir merkezine biraz uzak kalmasıydı ama reception dan çağrılan uygun fiyatlı taksi hizmetiyle bunu çok sıkıntı etmedik.

Very nice hotel a bit outside the city centre.
Nice breakfast.
Easy and cheap to get to the centre by public bus or taxi.
