Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Distance to beach is perfect. Restaurants around the hotel in Tamarindo town are great with many different options. This is the ideal hotel to stay at in Tamarindo location and comfort wise.

FIVE STAR!!! The location of the property was perfect! Could walk to the beach just yards away. The market and restaurant were also a short walking from the accommodations. The staff was friendly and very personable.

Breakfast was on par with the food we had in Miraflores but most of the other food left a lot to be desired. Just not flavorful with the exception of the ceviche which was good.

Overall a nice stay at the resort and we enjoyed the pools and facilities. There were empty plastic cups floating in the pool toward the end of the day once, though.

Direct access to the beach was very nice. Staff was wonderful and helpful. The towel limitations were annoying.

It is a beautiful property - very well maintained. Loved having such easy access to the beach. Food was decent. Overall the staff was great - a few people were not ideal but that is expected anywhere. Rooms were nice, but the road noise is terrible - bring a sound machine, and even then it's still loud. Beds were comfortable and rooms were clean and well maintained.
Would definitely stay again

Honestly we felt catfished by this hotel. When we booked we thought the hotel looked amazing, but when we arrived we felt deceived. I can list all the horrible things we experienced starting with their towel policy. They give you tickets for pool towels which you can only get from the front desk which is across the street from our room. If you lose the towel or the ticket you have to pay $20 so that added extra stress to our stay. The hotel room is filled with bugs which sneak in under the front door that has a large gap from the floor. There is no extra entertainment when you are stuck indoors by the torrential rain. If there was a game room we were not aware of it because upon arrival we were not given much information. The breakfast was horrific. You check in with their host and she marks off your room number then says \"have a great meal\" and leaves you to search for an open table which they had none so you are left standing until someone leaves. The food itself was absolute garbage. The service was not memorable and we felt like everywhere you went someone was trying to get more money out of you. Definitely would not recommend this place to anyone.

Clean. Visual appeal. Nicely located. Courteous. Breakfast buffet was a highlight of my trip. Rooms are on both sides of the main road (some beachside, some across the road). Ocean view 1st floor single king bed room nicely located on ocean side of main road. One of the adult pools in the back is nice and never crowded.

Overall the resort was very nice and location was great. Breakfast was good.
The rooms are a bit dated. We had to request an iron and board. The cleaning service needs improvement. There were days we had to ask for towels. They wouldn’t replenish the dirty ones. They didn’t refill the soap dispenser nor leave an extra toilet paper. All items we had to call the front desk for.
Once we did, we did receive them quickly but it was an inconvenience to constantly call.
The hotel should have some entertainment. There is absolutely nothing in the evening.
They have a nice big bar with a large tv screen but never play big sporting events. Playoff NBA or NHL would have attracted alot more people. Instead we had to find local bars.
Finally not many smiles from the workers at this resort including the front desk.
It needs a friendlier environment.

If you are going to visit Tamarindo, this is the place to stay. The facility itself is very well maintained and the staff are friendly and helpful. The grounds are beautiful with a variety of mature trees and well attended gardens. The views of the ocean are unmatched. Breakfast was included in our stay and the food was excellent. We would definitely stay here again!

We would recommend this resort based on many factors. We stayed right up front but the beach is easy from anywhere. Walking is easy to restaurants and shops. The restaurants and the bar on the resort were nice. The pools were very nice. Breakfast was good every morning and the fruit was always tip top. Parking our car rental was easy in and out. Getting towels was an easy exchange and the wash station right off the sand was very helpful.

Our room phone wasn't working, so we had to go downstairs to the front desk whenever we had a question. We made staff aware of this the first day, but there was never any follow up on this.

Wrist bands were used to enter the room. Three of the four we received failed within the second try.

On the good side, the buffet breakfast was excellent. And most of the staff were professional.

The worst thing that happened: I accidentally made two identical reservations for my trip, both for arrival on May 14, 2026, for a two-night stay. Upon arrival, the receptionist, Irene, noted the duplicate booking and I confirmed it was an honest mistake. However, when I followed up the next day, I was informed that the front desk manager had decided I was responsible for both reservations, resulting in an additional charge of over $800. If the hotel were full I could understand, but the hotel was far from full! I was told I could use this amount as a credit for a future stay, but I am 80 years old and this was a once-in-a-lifetime trip for me. The front desk appeared embarrassed about this decision and suggested appeal to Mr. David Gonzalo, a senior guest manager. I emailed him two weeks ago, and he has not had the courtesy to even reply.

Shame on them for purposely gouging me like that!

Kind of torn on my experience here. For a first time traveler to Tamarindo, this seemed like a great option. The pools and location are very nice.
The rooms, service, and everything else seem more like an afterthought. From check-in to drinks at the bar, there was little to no help at all and definitely no warm welcome. The rooms and most of the property feel like they quit updating it 20 years ago, it just happens to be on such a beautiful piece of beach that you overlook it completely. If it weren’t for the location being top tier, I don’t think this option would be nearly as popular as it is.

The resort was beautiful and we enjoyed our stay. Location was great. Food was delicious. Pools with swim-up bars were the best. We saw monkeys in the trees and iguanas swimming in the pool. We were there in April so no crowding. The balcony overlooking the pool was great.

At check-in the desk clerk was very short and impolite.
Ice machine for our section of the resort (across the street from the beach and restaurant) was out, making it inconvenient. The AC (mini split) only cooled the area it was in leaving the bed area warm. The adult pool was not the adult pool.

It really was a great hotel, property was really great. The free breakfast was a huge plus. My only complaints are the rooms really need to be renovated.Very outdated. Rooms are very hot. And the bartenders need to be a lot faster. 20 min for a drink is crazy when there are only 8 people at the bar, consistently for 6 straight nights. Other than that the location is prime and my family had a great time.

Clean rooms . 3 floors where I stayed . Had 1 ice machine that was glass should’ve been steel . (Only complaint) the resort is beautiful ! Wake up to birds .. chirping , beautiful beach view . Breakfast buffet was great ( omelet and waffle and pancake station ) food at restaurants were great! And the prices were nothing outrageous. Panhandling on the beach was outta control. Also make sure u have a ride to and from the resort to the airport . Staff was great and accommodating

We had a wonderful stay at Diria. Everything about the resort was great. We booked one of the less expensive rooms, it was small but comfortable. The room was clean and the housekeeping services was superb. Loved all four of the pools although we spent most of our pool time at only one of them. The music piped in around the pools was not loud and annoying which is a BIG plus. The breakfasts were delicious. The restaurants fantastic. Can't think of any negatives. I recommend.

Stayed here during a trip through Costa Rica and this place genuinely delivered. The location right on Tamarindo beach is hard to beat. You walk out and you’re basically already in the water. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and the AC actually worked well (always appreciate that more than the average person lol).
The pool area was a solid spot to post up during the day, and the beach access made it easy to go back and forth without any hassle. Staff were friendly and helpful without being overbearing. They pointed me toward good spots in town and weren’t just trying to upsell everything.
Tamarindo itself has a great vibe and the resort is right in the middle of everything, so getting to restaurants, bars, and surf spots was easy. If you’re doing a Costa Rica trip and want somewhere with a real beach feel that’s not overly touristy or stuffy, this is the move.
Would definitely come back. 10/10 for the experience overall.

The Diriá is fabulous! I’ve seen there twice over the last year and I can tell you firsthand. It is the best hotel in town. Everything is walkable but really you don’t even need to go outside the resort they have everything. The location is perfect. The staff is amazing. The buffet is the best in town. We had an amazing stay and would definitely visit again!

Breakfast: Plenty of options for all of us who prefer a variety of things. The omelettes, waffles, gallo pinto, and fresh fruit were some of our favorites.

Pizza and Bar: We went off site for most other meals but found ourselves having a pizza each day from Nari. We also sat and had drinks while watching March Madness in the bar. Rusaul was an awesome server and positive part of our experience.

Surfing: The teenage kids did surfing lessons one day. There are a ton of other options, but I booked through the hotel and it was basically the same cost and got to do everything right at the beach by our hotel. Joshua was a really great teacher and the kids got up right away.

Rooms: We had a 2nd floor beachfront room and enjoyed it. Though it's a standard room other than the view so we didn't spend much time in there.

Location: Perfect location in the middle of the beach strip of Tamarindo, so we could walk either direction on the beach or in town and be anywhere we wanted within 10 minutes on foot.

Pool: We didn't plan to use the pools much since we were at the beach but ended up having a nice hang at the pool across the street. Nice resort style pool with tons of sitting, and a great time at the swimup bar.

This hotel probably has the best location in town. The beach is great, it has 3 pools, includes a buffet breakfast and had some of the most inexpensive drinks we saw in Costa Rica. Our room was ready so they let us check in early which was great.
There were however a few things that need improvement. We had no hot water at all aside from one afternoon (we were there 2 nights), we had an oceanfront sunset room and although it was convenient, for the price it should really be updated. Lastly there was very little shade at the main pool. Just a few covered chairs and no umbrella which made it uncomfortable since it was 93 and humid.
Overall the property is nice and location was perfect.

Located in the center of town, street is very loud if you’re staying in the beachfront units. Very overpriced for what you get! Very overpriced. Bar staff was slow. Beach outside of the hotel not managed by the hotel and was dirty and had trash everywhere. Rooms in need of updating.

Morning breakfast buffet was the highlight with great variety and good food. We will not stay here again.

I have fallen in love with this resort. It is so well kept and clean. I was in an adults only room/area and the jacuzzi and view were a treat. My room was taken care of everyday and the jacuzzi was cleaned every other day. The bed was so comfy!! Breakfast was a beautiful buffet with delicious Costa Rican options as well as treats like pancakes and waffles which were freshly made on the spot. I joined yoga every morning at 8am and Mary Lou and Monica were so lovely to meet and very knowledgeable instructors. I loved the yoga all week!! The pools are beautiful but the beach is even better. It was so nice to have a lounge chair on the property and enjoy the view all day. I even saw howler monkeys, lizards and an iguana as well as cute squirrels and interesting blue and white birds by the spectacular guanacaste tree in the beachside restaurant. The staff would so warm and friendly and helpful. I can’t wait to return.

Rooms were simple but we did go to Tamarindo to sit in our rooms all day. Our cleaning lady did a great job everyday. The layout of the resort was a little different than I had imagined. Our rooms were across the road from beach and restaurant however this was not a issue. Buffet was loaded with local foods and fresh fruit! We did not use the pool near the beach but the one located near our room was big, clean and never felt packed. It was nicely located within the town. Overall I would stay again
