Perfect for visiting Auschwitz memorial/museum

Easy and quick check-in, helpful staff. Literally across the road from the Auschwitz camp/museum. Very convenient. Free parking at the hotel. Good sized room and adequate bathroom. Was very clean and everything worked in the room. Good wifi. Buffet breakfast was good, and well stocked. Good choice of foods – limited hot food, but 2-3 choices of cereals, fruits, breads, cheese/meat, juices, etc. Restaurant is open all day and has very good food for dinner – we ate there both nights we stayed at this hotel – staff very friendly and helpful. No complaints at all…….and would happily recommend this hotel.

Great service even when we needed something printed. The location was great as you could see Auschwitz car park from our window and had a nice restaurant next door. Only thing that puts its overall down was just the noise from next door in the morning which was a staff room as it kept waking us up.

Staff very accommodating

Staff was very helpful. Arrived early in morning by train. Held room for us. They even had a provision for a late check out after our tour of Auschwitz. They also were able to help with transportation to Krakow. And the breakfast was lovely.

Good hotel right next to Auschwitz

We stayed at this hotel because it is extremely close to Auschwitz. We just walked across the street and then we were at the front entrance to Auschwitz. Hotel's restaurant serves good food and drink. Staff was kind and helpful. Only negative was the walls seem to be a little thin in the rooms, so we could hear our neighbors talking throughout the night. But that was not a big deal for us. Would recommend this hotel to a friend

The location for this hotel was across the street from the Aushwitz Memorial. We were able to walk over early the next morning to reserve our guided tour, and then come back and have an enjoyable breakfast. The bathroom had modern fixtures. The bed and chair could have been a bit thicker. We were comfortable, and for the price, we would stay here again.

Booked this hotel just on the basis it looked to be quite close to auschwitz death camp,it's a two minute walk to the entrance.
Rooms clean and basic,staff excellent,I'd told them I was arriving by bicycle,they had a secure area inside the hotel to store it.

Its a great location for Auschwitz visitors. The restaurant attached is decent. The hotel itself is aesthetically pleasing and very clean. However, if you can sleep on a rock, the the beds are fine. Otherwise, its very uncomfortable.

Close to where we needed to be.

We were wanting to visit the Auschwitz Memorial site. The hotel was perfect for this. We literally had to just cross over the zebra crossing. The hotel seemed quite modern, clean and tidy. It had a restaurant on site which was handy as there was nothing else really in the area. There was a great selection of food for the breakfast buffet. I would recommend this hotel. Great value.

We are happy about our stay. This hotel is very well located, but the air conditionning was not working and the room has no chair (there are nice sofa in the common areas). I would go back there. The ratio between the cost and the quality is correct.

Chose this hotel because it was located adjacent to the Memorial site but was disappointed by the overall experience. It was clean and functional but the air con was not working; this was an issue for a family of four sharing a room in mid-July - resorting to opening windows meant we all suffered midge bites and got little sleep as all rooms overlap a relatively busing road. Reported to staff about 5 times who said they would get it sorted but nothing happened. It was relatively cheap so perhaps got what I paid for but in hind sight should have looked further afield for other options.

Place was great, recently refurbished, clean. Each room has air conditioning which is great if you prefer windows closed. Restaurant was good for dinner, and the breakfast had a decent selection. Best thing is that you are as close to the entrance of the Auschwitz Museum as possible without being inside. Outside parking was available.

Comfortable and practical

Short stay (one night). The hotel room was clean and the shower felt amazing. The location was directly across from Auschwitz and surrounded by some restaurants. The only issue we discovered was that the air conditioning was not working and keeping the windows open was not enough to comfortably cool the room. The hotel staff was friendly and allowed us to store our luggage while we visited the grounds of Auschwitz for a couple of hours. Also, the hotel is in a rather sparse area (compared to the night life and shopping of other cities in Poland). We did not have much opportunity to walk around due to the fact that our purpose for visiting was for Auschwitz, but there did not appear to be much around.

Nice friendly hotel close to the Auschweiz camp. Room was reasonably clean but small. It was warm out but the A/C was not available till June ?. Ate in the restaurant one night and waited 15 minutes to get our bill while the staff was out for a smoke. Food was OK. Price was good for what you get and it was convenient. I would stay here again.Breakfast was good.

Walking out the front door to be literally steps away from the main entrance to Auschwitz was an excellent factor for an earlier morning entry before the crowds arrived. The meals at the hotel were very good, but the room was spartan, and the bed was very small. It also was somewhat spooky to sleep so close to where so many were murdered in WW II.

i was planning to visit Auchwitzs concentration camp for a long time, finally i did it and i was flying from Germany to Krakow and then driving here as i had my tour scheduled for next day. This hotel was the perfect one as it was less than a block away for the today museum...

Check in was quick and easy.
Location is right next to the museum.
Rook was clean and comfortable.

I was just disappointed at the huge mark up for a taxi price to Katowice. Normal taxi price is 150 zloty, but the hotel charge 300 zloty. Everything else with the hotel was fine but I was disappointed with this dishonesty.

Use the hotel but dont book any other services through them. I would have left a tip if they werent dishonest.

Nice hotel very close to Auschwitz.

We decided to stay here last minute after booking tickets to Auschwitz, which is literally right across the street. I used Expedia to book and requested baby cot for our infant through special request section. Upon arrival, the reception told us that they had seen our request but didn't have baby cots which was a huge disappointment. Otherwise, the hotel is clean, room size is spacious and it's a convenient place to stay if you have plans to go to the museum and Auschwitz grounds.

Stayed two nights to visit Auschwitz plus Oswiecim town centre. Great location for Auschwitz - I was able to see the museum from my room. Room was OK, just a few minor faults such as: Free Wi-Fi did not work in my room; the telephone (in room) was broken; table too small to use a notebook PC on and one of its legs was wobbly; uncomfortable wooden square chair with no back support; shower cubicle door did not close properly. However, I was able to oversee these as the rate was so reasonable.

Visited Auschwitz with my husband and father for a long weekend to view the concentration camp and museum. The Hotel is directly opposite the museum and is clean, tidy, warm and serves extremely good food. Breakfast is buffet style but you can order eggs and sausage if required. A quiet place

This hotel is located right across the street from the Auschwitz Museum. They claim to have wireless, but only able to use in the lobby or restaurant. They do have a LAN line in the room for you can use. Quiet hotel, friendly staff, and clean room. If you are looking to stay near the museum, as I did, this is the perfect location/place.

There were two couples in our group. The rooms were clean and the hotel was very quite. Parking was right outside, and the hotel is located right across the street from Auschwitz and less than a mile from Birkenau Concentration camps. The staff is really incredible. Found me a vet for my dog on a Sunday that was only 2 miles away.
The food in the restaurant was fair to poor.
I would recommend if you are visiting this area to stay at this location, just eat elsewhere.

This hotel is clean and comfortable. We had 4 beds in our room, which was a little cramped but fine. The hotel is literally opposite the entrance to the Auschwitz I museum, so is a good base for this. We opted to eat in the restaurant, which was possibly an error. The food, when it arrived, was fine, and was reasonable value. The problem was that it was an hour and a half from ordering to the starter arriving, and what we had hoped would be an early night turned in to a late one. Breakfast was entirely forgetable.

Dingy hotel in bad repair was adequate for a one day visit to Auschwitz. For longer stays, go elsewhere.

Shower door was broken and we found an old razor blade in the bathroom.

The restaurant had mediocre food and the carpet was dirty.

The location was good and it was cheap.

20 minute walk to hotel from train station. Right across street from Auschewitz museum. Bathroom had large shower with great water pressure and hot water. Restaurant down stairs was closed night we were there. It would of been nice to have been notified, since there are no other restaurants in area. Great location for an overnight to Auschwitz

Hotel is an excellent choice if you'd like to overnight in Auschwitz as it is right across the street from the entrance. Pleasant hotel with very helpful staff and an excellent restaurant. Short 5 minute walk to the bus stop to Krakow. Individual air conditioning in the rooms which was needed as it was over 90 degrees when we were there. Would highly recommend this hotel.

The restaurant in the Olecki Hotel was closed when we were there but breakfast was excellent. Auschwitz I is directly across the street. I would recommend.

Our only agenda was to see Auschwitz and stay in a good place close by. We scored big with this hotel. Everything worked out perfect. The hotel was easy to find. We literally walked across the street to get to the camp. The hotel room was clean and updated. The breakfast was edible and included in the price. The hotel restaurant food not the greatest but it was not horrible. There was a school group in the hotel the same night and it took a while for them to settle in and calm down. So a little noisy. Overall the stay was fabulous. I wish every hotel in Europe was this reasonably priced and clean. Best hotel and price I have ever had here.

Unexpected first class hotel

My daughter and I trained into Oswiecim to visit the Aushowitz Museum from Prague. We arrived early in the morning and the hotel staff arranged for our room earlier then expected which was wonderful. The room was modern and clean. An unexpected find was the hotel resturant. It had a first class american breakfast which was included and we had a terrific dinner at the hotel. It turns out to be one of the best resturants in the city.Most important the hotel is right across the street from the museum saving parking fees.We also walked from the train staion to the hotel which is approx 1.2 km away.

The hotel looks ok but the room was very good, clean and so was the bathroom. The value for money is very good. The breakfast was ok, not great - but then the price reflects this.
We had a very nice receptionist when we arrived. The blond girl the next day was a bit patronising but ok.

Beautiful hotel in a ghost town

I loved the hotel but hated the town. I would have been much happier staying in Krakow and taking the bus/train to visit Auschwitz. That is the only reason I wouldn't recommend this hotel. It's not worth it to stay in the town to visit Auschwitz because after 6pm it's completely dead and boring there. Auschwitz only takes 6 to 7 hours for a real explorer. After that, if you're staying in Oswecim you are going to have nothing to do. We actually left a night early from our hotel so we could experience more of Poland (Krakow) and slept in the airport just so we wouldn't waste our last day in a ghost town.

Do yourself a favour and stay here!

I really rate this hotel. Not only is it across the road from the museum, but it is in walking distance to town and Birkenau.
The staff were amazingly friendly and always had a friendly smile on their faces.
The restaurant was great also.
After travelling for a while, it was really great to finally find a place that was quiet at night.... instead of having to listen people slam doors or talking in the corridors...
Really recommend this hotel and its friendly staff... they spoken english better than I did.. haha

Great location, right across from Auschwitz I. Enjoyed our two nights there. Updated bathroom. Our only issue was an employee that was smoking in the closed doorway to the exit next to our vehicle. We had to walk all around the hotel looking for an alternative exit, as we did not want our two toddlers walking through a coffin of cigarette smoke.

Hotel was across the road from the museum. It is a very basic but adequate hotel. reception staff try their best to assist. Room was very hot even though it was winter and I needed to sleep near the window to get the cool fresh air. Reception had a hair dryer that could be borrowed. Breakfast was supplied and was satisfactory.

Location, Location, Location

I highly recommend this hotel. It's located right in front of the entrance of Auschwitz 1 concentration camp and only a twenty-five minute walk to Auschwitz 2 (Birkenau). The buffet breakfast that they serve their is excellent and the Polish dinners is superb. Hotel staff spoke english and was very helpful in setting up transportation to the airport. I will be going back to this hotel next year.

Very nice hotel

We checked in late afternoon and visited auschwitz the next day. I would highly recommend doing it that way. The hotel is modern. The staff are friendly. I had the best meal I've had so far on our travels in the restaurant. Only drawback is no wi if. Would highly recommend.

good but not what we booked

although the hotel was good and adequate for our purposes, the quadruple room we booked was not a quadruple room at all but a double room with four single beds around the wall. a little cramped and awkward for my wife and I with our 2 adult daughters. however we had a laugh!

Close to where I wanted to be

This was by far the best hotel I have stayed in so much that I booked an extra whilst there and used it as a base for travel locally The staff were all polite and friendly most helpful with all enquiries of where to go.The restaurant and meals were excellant and prices to die for. I will definatly stay here again and highly recommTony Hamerend

Ideal location. Great and very helpful staff. Helped with wheelchair and brought breakfast to the roomso we wouldn't have to go downstairs.

A nice hotel.

A lot of things work really for this hotel. The staff are very pleasant, the hotel has a great location for those travelling to tour the Auschwitz, concentration camp, and the hotel and the rooms inside are very tastefully decorated. The breakfast left something to be desired as it looks like all food in laid out buffet style, but once an item is gone, it doesn't appear to be replaced, so if you want a great selection, I'd suggest being there early. As advertised in the hotel amenities, this place doesn't have an elevator.

Dinner fare isn't bad. Good service, good food, and they have beer on tap. Something that is needed after a day at Auschwitz.

Definitely a good place. I would use it again, and I would recommend the hotel to anyone.
