While check-in was great, don't expect a friendly welcome in the restaurant if you arrive after 21:00. Staff were extremely rude to say the least. Kitchen closes at 21:30 and staff are gone before 22:00, by which time the bar has also closed.

Hotel is located a little out of town but has a regular bus service in the vicinity. It has a small pool and sauna but some guests might not be comfortable with the shared facilities dress code.

Amazing hotel

We stayed here while at a conference with my partner and son. Hotel was very clean, room cleaned everyday if you want. Lots of green incentives in the hotel with the water filter by the lifts and the trust of towels if you don't want them changed.

Breakfast was excellent with lots to choose from for everyone.

The gym seemed well equipped but we didn't use that. The pill and jacuzzi were both used and they were very good.

All of the staff were very friendly at all times.

I had a very bad check-in experience. At 4am, desperate to get to bed after a long day and having made an online booking, the lady at reception showed absolutely zero initiative or compassion. I ended up suggesting to pay a cash deposit until they were able to locate the reservation. Bean counters should not be employed for client-facing roles.

Poor service, not worth the money.

The service was ‘okay’. I asked for an iron to my room they said I couldn’t have one and had to go to an ironing room (take all my clothes down two floors, iron it and come back up even after I had just had a shower and I was in my pyjamas). The coffee was instant coffee in the room so if you aren’t a fan I would not recommend. The mattress was too soft, it hurt my back (and I never have problems with my back) so I had to sleep in the sofa bed in the room as it was harder. I asked for fresh milk for my coffee in the bedroom and they said I had to pay (room service) what hotel makes you pay for milk in the room for your coffee! I ordered food in the restaurant and they didn’t bring the whole order so I had to wait whilst the other we’re eating for my food to arrive. Overall I would not recommend and I would not go back. There are other hotel chains around that area for around the same price, I will definitely try one of them instead.

Did not book Novotel for a long time, I was very surprised with its quality in Katowice, for that price it is very adequate offer. Spa, pool, sauna, clean and spacious room, rich breakfast with even fresh squeezed orange juice, seemed like 4+ star hotel. Personnel is friendly and considerable, helped to change my room to another one without any delay once I found that my first room had a cigarette smell. In other words, best in Katowice so far, totally recommend.

Lovely place to stay, a littleness bit out of the city, but an awesome hotel. Very clean, great view of the city, very comfortable, with helpful staff - we got an upgrade as it wasn't very busy, which was a nice bonus! Gym and swimming pool were not the greatest, but were there. Conveniently located Lidl next door too. Disappointed we were only there for one night! Will definitely look at Novotel as an option regularly now

Hotel is about 10 mins walk to Mariaka where the bars and restaurants are. Breakfast buffet is good. Only downside side is the jacuzzi need replacing, pool water is cold and Sauna is too dark. But aside from that, everything is fine. It's good if they can put safe in the room.

Good points: good location, nice pool, good breakfast and staff at front desk helpful for booking restaurants as I can't speak polish.
Bad points: beds so uncomfortable didn't sleep, poor sound proofing between rooms which was tested to the limit when neighbour partied until very late and we heard almost everything (complained but apart from getting them to turn music off staff did nothing), small rooms considering we were a family of 4, only pillows for 3 people, only towels for 2 people and bathrobe for 1 person (we were there for 4 nights), restaurant over priced with poor service and they tried to double charge us for breakfast at check out. If we hadn't disputed it they would have. Overall very disappointing from a supposedly 4 star hotel.

This was a great Hotel. The staff was really nice. The breakfast buffet was great. The surrounding area was really nice. Close to downtown Katowice and across the street from the museum campus. The pool was a little too cold for me and the hot tub was broken, but everything else was great. I even got a great massage their. Very pleasant stay.

The employees at Hotel Katowice were very professional and courteous. The hotel itself needed some refreshing.

The strong smell of mold in the lobby was a bit of a turn-off, as well as the smoke entering our rooms from the casino below when we tried to open our window for some fresh air. Katowice is an industrial town and not one that many tourist stay at, so I understand the ambience won't be perfect. The staff did perform their best to make sure our stay was as pleasant as possible, so for that I give thanks.

All the other Novotels I have used in Poland have been far superior. Service was a bit poor, some receptionists could be bothered some were too busy or unfriendly.

Additionally, I went for a massage after the spa and the guy made me walk out in my towel, sweaty and wet to pay the reception before the massage instead of being able to either wait for me to put clothes on or trust me to not run away from the hotel 1 day early to avoid baying the 30 euros. Was not very relaxing in the busy reception queue in my wet swimwear. Will definitely never stay there again, on the other hand the room was okay and a couple of the bar staff were very nice

Bit of a dilemma when i checked in and was informed that there would not be a room available the following day unless i changed room fortunately this was resolved by a sensible member of staff the following day .The room was ok but the bedding was obviously old and discolored and the most uncomfortable pillows we have ever tried to sleep on we ended up sleeping without them. The shower door was hanging off. Tv in room but no UK channels. The swimming pool was far too cold and the gym equipment too old to use the pool was freezing but the jacuzzi and sauna were good.
The hotel is a good location and they have a pleasant little restaurant good value for money

It is close to the Economic University and city center (within walking distance). Parking lot is large and many public transportation stations are nearby. Check in and check out is efficient. Room is spacious and includes free bottle of water, coffee and tea every day; respectable fridge with mini bar; safe deposit. Furniture and equipment is basic and relatively good shape. Breakfast offers solid variety of foods and drinks and lasts from 6:30 to 10:30, which is perfect. On minus side, swimming pool water is cold and access for pedestrians is not very good.

Hotels.com Embarasses Itself

Hotel.com should be embarrassed that this is labeled a 4 star hotel. It is in fact, not remotely close to a hotel -- the closest thing this structure represents is that of a low cost Hostel. The rooms are covered in stains, the beds cave in in the middle, and there was a terrible stench coming from our room which required us to move into an alternative room. After moving into this room we found that the AC did not work, fantastic!

After calling Hotels.com to resolve the issue they stated it is their policy to not offer credits or refunds after a stay has been complete. The only reason we stayed the night was due to arriving late after a long trip to Krakow and need a place before waking up early in the AM for a flight back to the US. Thanks for being so understanding of our situation Hotels.com, o wait, nevermind. Book this hotel err hostel at your own risk.

If you want somewhere with a comfortable bed, friendly/helpful staff and fair prices in Katowice this is the best place. It's a five minute walk to most key places and has taxis outside most of the time if you need to go further. Room service is efficient and decent value for money. I'd recommend it to others.

Excellent stay during festival.

Visited the hotel during the Tauron Nowa Muzyka festival. Highly recommend staying here when visiting Katowice, and in particular the festival. Hotel staff were friendly and the hotel itself was excellent for the price. 10 minute walk to the bars and shops in the city, also conveniently a couple of minutes away from a Lidl supermarket, which came in really handy. I will definitely stay here again next time I visit Katowice.

I arrived from the Krakow airport at 5pm. A bus of 40 elderly people was checking in at the hotel. I asked if I could drop my bag before going to a business appointment few minutes later. A very rude employee told to wait (one hour!).
I came back in the evening and asked to checkin. Despite my online booking, they gave me a 2 single bed room.
(do not wait for somebody to help you carry your bag!).
I complained and asked for a king size bed.
They gave me a room that has never been painted since 1970 with a carpet of the same age.

Good for business travel and for 1-2 day stay

Overall Hotel is good, but wellness center was very poor, gym equipment was out of work, swimming pool was cold. Service provider was very kind guy and tried to make us feel better, but was imposible, on the second day we did not use pool and Sauna at all. Changing room was not clean. Stuffs are professionals and kind invluded housekeepers.

When we arrived, the twin room I booked was not reserved and we got a double room. The person at the reception gave us another room but didn't put my name on the new room. As a result when I extended my stay, it ended up extending the room my name was on (our relatives traveling with us)
This chain of the hotel stuff mistakes resulted in not having a room at the last day (we were informed at night when we came back). The hotel stuff didn't try to help too much putting the blame on us. We had to spend the night in a different hotel. Only the following day, the manager apologized to us

Very near to Katowice city centre

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff on reception, the waiting staff in the restaurant and Urszula who cleaned my room every day were all very polite, professional and helpful. My room was on the tenth floor so I had an excellent view of the city. The hotel was spotlessly clean and I used the leisure facilities (pool, sauna, jacuzzi) frequently. The cuisine in the restaurant was superb but there are also plenty of other restaurants in Katowice. Wi-fi throughout the hotel. There are few tourists in Katowice. It is a city trying to make itself attractive but has not quite got there yet. Kracow, on the other hand, is an absolute must-see and it is only a an hour away by bus. My stay at the Novotel Katowice was peaceful and enjoyable.

the downstairs of the hotel like reception area restaurant etc very nice but the rooms standards were 2** to Me not 4 ,very dirty place the bathroom and tiles moldy need a good clean ,find hair everywhere even the kettle looked like 20 years old Never cleaned ,decor should be updated horrible blue carpets etc ....location \"in the middle of nowhere \" it says town centre but it's a good 30 min walk to town centre .
