Didn’t get the VIP perks.
Good location for easy stop for tram. However it can be noisy if room overlooking the tram tracks. Also lot of party people at the hotel.
The breakfast buffet is excellent. Great choice, fast resupply of items, large choice. Fresh and delicious. Rooms are spacious. Also a gym and a dry sauna.

All good except for the lady serving in the restaurant. Straight from the communist period. I was the only client there and I felt like I was not welcomed.

Good old times returned

Everything works as before. Sauna, buffet breakfast, and all the other things you may need during your stay. Air conditioning is good and so the same is the bathroom. The hotel is not new anymore, therefore no fancy interior, but you can live without it.

Noisy!

The Focus hotel is conveniently located. Because of a wedding the first night of our stay and the location of our room, we did not get much sleep. Our suggestion to management was to book those not attending the wedding at the opposite side of the hotel. We only received a “sorry”. Another night there was very loud music until after midnight. Other hotels ask for quiet after a certain time. This would be appreciated.

Recently, on short notice, my wife and I traveled to Poland for an official visit. We made the reservation via Expedia.com at the Focus Hotel Katowice-Chorzow for one week at the end of the month of May. Upon our arrival we were informed that the central cooling system was out of order, but that spare parts had already been ordered. From my travel experiences this is typically an issue that is resolved quickly at a hotel and did not raise any alarms for us at check-in. We also made a reservation to host a meeting at the hotel with a large group of attendees and had already sent out official invitations.
Regrettably, the room temperature was 28 0C [82.40F] and despite a very long and arduous International journey, we had an extremely uncomfortable and sleepless night. As I pointed out, the purpose of our trip to Poland was in an official capacity that required formal daily attire; having to dress properly while exhausted from the heat and being continuously sweaty presented a real challenge.
We complained the following day and the desk manager offered another room, with basically the same temperature. At that moment, we requested a fan for our room as a temporary solution. Unfortunately, this situation continued until our departure.
We feel that the agreement between guest and hotel was not fulfilled as it should have been. We paid the full requested price for the lodging and where deprived of the basic standards we expected, including air-conditioning as advertised on th

Great inexpensive option near Katowice

Two problems during the stay:
1. Wifi was very poor - reported it to staff who said someone might come to fix it the next day. Barely worked in the room during our 3 day stay.
2. Room key was incorrectly made twice - had to make a trip to the reception 3 times to get the key replaced.

Comfortable Bed and nothing more..

The only one positive thing was the bed - very comfortable.. Small, old bath towels, no small fridge in the room, paper tea /coffee cups, the walls in the bedroom and bathroom dirty and cracked, room in general very tired could do with a paint. Our room wasn't cleaned on the first day. The reception staff not apologetic at all when reported that our room wasn't cleaned. Disappointed

Highly recommend

I visit this hotel regularly for two years and everytime it suprises me how amazing it is :) I would rather say that it is not 3 star hotel, because you can feel there like in 5 star one. Rooms are always clean, bedding is soft and beds are extremely comfortable. Restaurant serves hearty and tasty meals in very good price.
The only thing You may find inconvenient is localization, but if only You are traveling by car this problem may vanish. Highly recommend!

Es gab nach 9 Uhr am Sonntag keine Butter und keine Brötchen mehr ... absoluter Fauxpas ... beim Aufenthalt zwei Wochen vorher wurde eine halbe Stunde vor dem Frühstücksende schon abgeräumt ... hier ist die Hotelleitung extrem gefragt ... ansonsten echt alles perfekt ... würden wiederkommen, mal sehen wie es dann ist ... Die Hotelanlage präsentiert sich in einem gepflegten und ansprechenden Zustand, wobei das Frühstücksangebot durch seine Vielfalt und Reichhaltigkeit besticht. Das Abendessen à la carte ist ebenfalls sehr empfehlenswert. Bezüglich der Parkmöglichkeiten direkt am Hotel empfinde ich die Preisgestaltung als leicht überzogen.

Hotel ogólnie bardzo dobry. Śniadania bardzo dobre ale jakość jedzenia w restauracji (z karty) - dramatyczna! Żurek to woda o posmaku starych ziemniaków i najtańszej kiełbasy. Brr! Gnocchci też nie lepsze a kolega który zamawiał dwa dania jnajpierw dostał drugie danie a później zupę.

Es war kein schöner aufenthalt Lage war super aber die Parkplatz Schranke müsste immer einen Parkschein rauslassen das hat genervt.Sauberkeit ist nicht mehr so wie vor 2 Jahren.Man musste es an der Rezeption sagen das es sauber gemacht werden müsste Hatten keinen Kühlschrank bei den Temperaturen über 25 Grad konnten nichts Kühlen.Die eine Tischlampe war Defekt der Föhn ging nur 3 Minuten und dann war er zu heiß und ging nicht mehr man musste ihn aus dem Fenster halten zum abkühlen im Zimmer waren überall tote insekten geklebt.

Schönes Hotel, nettes Personal

Wir waren für 4 Nächte im Fokus Hotel. Das Personal war sehr nett und zuvorkommend, sowohl an der Rezeption als auch im Restaurant. Wir haben ein Premium Doppelzimmer bewohnt. Es war mit einer Nespressomaschine ausgestattet. Außerdem gab 2 Flaschen Wasser und Hygieneartikel kostenlos auf dem Zimmer. Das große Bett war bequem und das moderne Bad schön eingerichtet.
Die Lage ist sehr zentral.
Leider roch es in dem Zimmer leicht nach Zigarettenrauch und es lagen überall verteilt kleine Perlen einer, von einem Vorbesitzer kaputt gegangenen, Kette herum. Außerdem waren schwarze lange Haare auf dem Teppich. Offenbar wurde der Teppich nicht ordentlich gereinigt.
Deswegen nur 3 von 5 Punkten.

Grube zaslony daja mozliwosc dluzszego spania w sloneczny poranek. Sniadanie przepyszne. Produkty smaczne i jest z czego wybrac. Najwieksza niespodzianka jest torebka z kanapka na podroz. Wszystkie produkty opisane po polsku i angielsku. Polecam ten hotel. Uczciwa cena.

Das Hotel liegt gut an den öffentlichen Mitteln gelegen,Bus,Zug usw. sind in paar Minuten erreicht!
Auch Einksufsmöglichkeiten gibt es in der Nähe!
Das Zimmer ist groß genug und verfügt über Wasserkocher,aber keinen Safe!

Ein schönes und sauberes Hotel!

Handtücher und WLAN (guter Empfang!) gibt es kostenlos.
Die Standardzimmer besitzen keinen Kühlschrank. Im Winter kann man aber auch gut das Fensterbrett der Fensteraußenseite nutzen ;)

Im Zimmer gibt es jeden Tag kostenlos Wasser und einen Wasserkocher für Kaffee und Tee.
Das Parken kostet 25 PLN pro Tag.

Die Rezeptionisten sind sehr freundlich, wenn auch auf sympathische Art manchmal etwas verplant ;) Bei Problemen wurde uns immer sofort und gerne geholfen.


Ich würde wieder kommen!
