Where to begin? The desk lady presented herself as if she was doing you a favor for unlocking the door and receiving a guest. When given a key and basically informed that I was on my own from there out, I unlocked my room door and discovered the following: Admittedly, the room was clean. However, the room felt like a room an ex-convict would be given just after release from prison. The lighting was cold with no bedside table lamps. In the bathroom there were two tiny bars of the cheapest “soap” one could buy. The faucet spout in the tub was completely separated from the wall. When turned on, the hot water pipes screamed like an animal being slowly eaten alive. The A/C unit was “secured” to the window by Red Green himself (duct-tape for those unfamiliar with the reference). And the beds were outfitted with two miserly pillows accompanied by a single sheet and thin blanket.

This room had all the charm of a heavily medicated iguana.

The heating was not controlled in each room. It was controlled by the management. It might be the same for the air conditioning too. The room became unbearably hot. We opened a window. I asked them to turn down the heat at about 9:30 pm. He said that he would turn down everybody’s heat in a few minutes, but until then we could keep our windows open. It eventually became tolerable by about 11 pm.

The room was fine in terms of cleanliness etc. for the low price we paid and the convenience of location to our event and that we could park directly in front of our room and move our luggage etc. directly into the room’s own door.

The big problem was all the noise and loud onerous talking banging and crashing sounds until 4 am especially from the family next door. Plus others. I don’t know if they were permanent residents there (room D?) or not. But we didn’t contact management about it because we were hoping they’d stop eventually. Even with earplugs in, they were loud. Only got about two hours sleep.

Staff are friendly, looks clean when you arrive. The beds only have 2 thin pillows. Upon further inspection we found gross blood stains on the pillow covers, burn marks on the mattress covers, duvets along with unknown stains and the tub was dirty. Definitely not worth the money I spent

To begin with, the room was freezing when we checked in. We needed to ask for the heat to be turned on. Next to the AC that was installed on the window was a gap that was filled with an old towel. During the entire night, there was an ice cream truck parked on the grass, within their property, very close to our window and had a motor running all night which made it very noise. Inside the room, the fridge was set as a freezer, which froze my drinks. The glasses in the room were the cheapest plastic glasses possible. When we checked out at 11, nobody was at the reception in order for us to discuss all this.
The owner needs to take care of this property for sure.

2 of the 4 lights in the room did not work. One of the outlets was dead - no power. The fan in the bathroom was very noisy. The sound of the refrigerator was noticeable at night. No AC. The room was clean with little exterior noise being noticeable. The bed was very firm but serviceable.

The filthiest place I've ever stayed...and I've stayed in a lot of places. Grubby and worn out. Dirty, pealing walls and floors, burn marks in the very old 'comforter', no climate controls etc etc. Squalor. Looks like it was last updated a quarter century ago (being generous) and last cleaned the same week. Gross. I won't complain about the noise as that's not really their fault. Avoid

I can’t say I felt entirely safe here. Chairs outside of the rooms, and men sitting outside smoking. Also, my room had a sewage back up in the bathtub> there was some bad smells the last night, but i thought it was because it was a motel. Turns out it was the sewage back up. Couldn’t’ use the bathtub. Also room I stayed 2 nights and the room wasn’t serviced during my stay. Room was pretty dated, and it was pretty clean. Bedding was clean.

Would not recommend this property to my worst enemy. It smelt like feces and death wrapped up in one. It was so dirty i had to spend over 100 dollars on cleaning supplies new sheets candles and plug ins. The fridge didnt work and the air conditioner blew hot air. The bed was broken and the pillows had holes in them.

You Get What You Pay For

We weren't expecting much as it was the cheapest place around. Check-in was the best part of the experience. The clerk was friendly, processed our registration quickly and gave us the key.

When we entered Room 4, it was stifling. I found the window A/C and turned it on. Pretty noisy unit but it eventually cooled the room down. I later found out that the fridge was set on maximum and was running constantly.

The room and (very) basic furnishings were tidy but I wouldn't say spotless. The bed was quite uncomfortable being hard and springy at the same time. Like the A/C, it was also noisy.

To make a trifecta of noise-makers, the bathroom fan turns on the light switch. My wife says it sounded it sounded like a tractor.

I guess we got what we paid for. We won't be returning but if you're on a budget and a heavy sleeper, this might work for you.

Place needs some updates. Small ones would make a huge difference!
Outlet covers were all broken, bed was higher at foot then head, felt like you were constantly falling to the middle, 2 pillows, chair was broken, shower curtain was dirty and stuck together, doors around handles were dirty, no extra blankets, no iron, no toiletries,no extra toilet paper (1ply)
On the positive side.. fridge was good working (looked new) had microwave ( didn't use) window air conditioner which work well, TV and remotes ok.

We checked in and then went to our event without really checking out the room. When we came back at 2:00 a.m. someone had parked infront of our room. The smell of disinfectant was so strong it hurt your lungs & burnt your eyes. The bed creaked & springs popped at every move, very uncomfortable. There was a gross white stain on the top blanket and on the underside of it had cigarette burn holes. The top sheet, fitted sheet and the pillows had some sort of red stain. We aired it out the best we could were freezing but we refuse to climb under the covers even though we were exhausted from the two and a half hour drive to get there and the event we attended. In the middle of the night we used towels to get warm but when we woke in the morning we discovered black stains which looked like dried blood all over them. The room was extremely dirty, the bathroom door had visible dirt all over it from people's hands. We left very early & called back later to explain how disgusted we were. We were told we should have woke them if we were unsatisfied but they obviously had to know how bad it was and still gave it to us anyway. We didn't need that kind of conflict at 2:00 a.m. In the morning we discovered that when the fridge came on the microwave display blinked rapidly as if there was some kind of short & the baseboard heaters were all falling apart. A very disgusting room & 4 hours later people could still smell the disinfectant on us.

There is not a lot of choice for accommodations in Paris, ON. Our first choice was hosting a wedding and did not have any rooms available. So we booked a room at Davidson's Motel. The staff were polite and responded quickly when we asked for towels and pillows, however, our room was in dire need of some repair and cleaning.

The manager of the motel was there upon arrival. We asked if we could switch our room to two beds. He said yes but would charge us $20 more. I asked to see the room first. He showed us the room and it was not fit to stay in. Very old and smelly. I told him we could not stay and asked if my card had been charged. He said no it had not and that it was okay if we could not stay. Three hours after we left and had got another hotel, he charged my card for the room. When I called him about it said he had to because Expedia was going to charge him. This man lied to us and charged us for a room that was not fit to stay in. I would not recommend this Motel to anyone.

Although the website clearly states that there is air conditioning....they take them out for the winter. This is perfectly understandable, but I stayed two nights near the end of May. The daytime temperatures were over 25C. I asked about it the second morning and was told that they would install one for me. I arrived back to my room at 1:30am. It was too hot to sleep and although I was very uncomfortable having to keep the curtain open to try to allow some air to get in the open window, it really didn't cool off much. When I complained to staff at checkout I was told there was nothing they could do for me. They said I should have asked for a fan. I maintain that if the property is not going to have a/c for part of the year that should be advertised on the website.

Cute place - get what you pay for.

The owners were nice and helpful, cute spot. Room was dirty but the windows were open and it’s a country setting so whatever. Pest free. I think my only issue was no in room a/c control and thin walls. We couldn’t get netflix to work but wasn’t expecting it so didn’t matter (we didn’t ask for help either we just watched cable). We had cigarette burns on the sheets too but for $80/night we weren’t expecting a 5star. We would stay there again.

Very basic, no hooks or hangars for hanging coats in the room and no hooks in the bathroom. No temperature controls in the room so it was 28 degrees in December. Fortunately we were able to open a window. The towels were greyish and the toilet paper scratchy. The bed was quite comfortable. The room was quiet and dark so we slept well all three nights, once the temperature cooled down. It was pretty much what we expected for the price that we paid and it suited our needs. It was close to Brantford and had restaurants nearby for breakfast. Check-in and checkout were quick and easy.

With some effort and updating i think it would get much higher ratings. I only stayed one night, i do know the walks are very thin, and in need of soundproofing.

Overall, it was a very pleasant experience staying here. I believe there is long term tenants living here but it did not interfere with our stay at all. Room was very clean, beds extremely comfortable. My only advice to the owners would be to purchase new towels. I did ask to exchange mine and they accommodated my request immediately and with a smile. Yes, I would stay here again.

The customer service was excellent. The hotel is in a fantastic location across from Camp 31 restaurant. We loved the 2 Muskoka chairs outside the room. However the motel and room in particular could use some love and is in serious need of repair.. our faucet knobs for example when turned on kept spinning and would not shut off. The white towels were of great quality but stained. There was no shampoo, no body wash nor a pad and pen.

I am not usually one to complain but.....
Although the owner who greeted me was friendly there was limited communication. On checkout at 930, the office door was locked and he answered in a tank top and pajama pants.....

The room was not clean like it should be....fresh towels yes but the laminate floor was not clean or washed, dirty footprints all over it from the last occupants, the bale was falling apart with the laminate peeling off and there were stains and cigarette burns in the bedding....no dresser, no closet, and no thermostat..... the room was A LEAST 27 degrees when i went in...radiant heat only and no way of turning it down. I had to open a window fully juat to cool down and when its -15 out its hard to balance so a good sleep was not happening. I had to check out a day early (930am), they offered no refund or compensation. I didnt expect any but some sort of offer may have been bice. He necer asked why or if there were any issues, i suspect he already knew the answer and was afraid to ask. I do not recommend at all

The Motel is basic, but was clean, air conditioned, and very reasonable. There is no food on site, but plenty close by. EGG SMART and other restaurants within feet, and Starbucks and Tim Hortons also walkable.
No iron however, and my dress for the wedding was not as smooth as I would have liked it! Check in staff could be more welcoming. Overall, this motel gives you what you need to have a good night sleep!

I had a horrible time ! Just because one of my neighbours looked miserable, she made the weekend a disaster, we were a normal couple just looking for a decent time away from parents, and we had an unexpected bang at the door and it was the police! After the police saw that we were normal people having a NORMAL weekend, we were invisible to the staff like we were criminals, made it very embarrassing and we will never stay there again! Make sure you know your guests staying there!! We weren’t the criminals!!!

The folks that work here are fantastic. Having that said, the room was in a bit of disrepair. Sheets were very clean and the netflix was a nice touch.

Makeup stains on the towels but they were clean.

Showerhead was only 5 foot high, i had to bend down, medium to low water pressure.

Bring ear plugs if youre a light sleeper, lots of wall sounds and a train passes every few hours.

The motel was very clean. They had cleaning staff doing a great job everyday. I would most definitely stay there again and have recommended it to others. The price was fantastic! It's obvious that the motel is older but it was painted very nicely. Most amenities are close by. Restaurants are walking distance.
