Though we only stayed one night at Excelsior, it left such a wonderful impression that we wished we had planned a longer stay.
Our room on the 4th floor featured stunning floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the magnificent Milano Centrale — such a memorable view to wake up to. What impressed us most, however, was how unbelievably quiet the room was. Despite being directly across from the train station, we heard absolutely no outside noise whatsoever — no traffic, sirens, or the usual city sounds one might expect. The sound insulation (or windows!) is truly remarkable and made for one of the quietest hotel nights we’ve had.

The service throughout our stay was exceptional — warm, polished, and attentive in a way that made us feel genuinely well taken care of.

Our only regret is that we didn’t have more time to enjoy the spa, which looked beautiful and gave us every reason to want to return. A fantastic stay and one we would happily repeat on a future visit to Milan.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, and they even allowed us to check in early on the day of arrival, which was greatly appreciated after traveling.

The hotel offers a convenient shuttle to the city center, making it easy to get around. Breakfast was absolutely amazing with plenty of great options, and the highlight of the stay was definitely the spa—so relaxing and well maintained.

I would absolutely return and highly recommend this hotel to others!

Front desk staff not as attentive. They say they will call but they don’t. They say they will check but they don’t—they made me wait 4 hours because they simply forgot… terrible service. And too much noise from the train… hotel is next to train station. This made it hard to sleep.

We had an expensive room with a view. We ordered pizza and it came partially cold. Seemed the pizza was a frozen pizza and heated up in the oven and was watery on bottom. Also there was a noise in the bathroom that clicks on a regular basis and we had to close the bathroom door at night. The room also had a weird smell that was not very pleasant. The property was fine. Dining options for such a large hotel are very miniscule. This is more for a place to come for a drink at the roof than staying overnight. Our experiences staying at high end hotels are usually much more pleasant than this. Roof is nice.

Room 226 has great views over central station. Room size was spacious with all the amenities of chargeable mini bar, slippers, shoe shine etc. very comfortable big bed. Bathroom was well equipped with toiletries, shower cap, vanity pack. There was also plenty of towels too. Rain fall shower head needs changing and it’s very hard and difficult to open the tap for the shower. It was very stiff and had no grip.
Shame during our stay the main restaurant was closed for refurbishment. Breakfast was good with variety but no vegetarian or halal sausages. Overall we had a pleasant stay and would recommend this hotel to friends and family.

This was such a great hotel, and convenient as it is next to the main train station. My view from the room was excellent, I could not have asked for more. Room was comfortable, the bed, pillows everything was perfect. Quiet throughout the day and was able to sleep.

We did not like this hotel, building is old, our bathroom door was broken and would not close , sinks would not drain well, we informed the front office and they supposedly fixed the door but as soon as we opened it , it broke again and never worked for duration of our stay, bathroom floor was stained and dirty. They didn’t offer to change our room.

Upon my arrival, I was checked in to a room with mold and cigarette burns on couches and a terrible smell in a room. I have informed staff that I will not be staying in this room in a hotel that holds a LUXURY collection line and charging visitors minimum of $420 a night. I was asked to stay in room while they are working on correcting the issue. 1,5hrs later, I have come to front desk, where all staff looked surprised about my concern and complaint. I showed photos of room condition to reception and hotel manager was not available to speak to. I was asked to give them 4-5 hrs to find another room for me. I wanted to cancel my reservation and move to a different hotel, however I was informed that since I booked a bundle deal with Expedia, I am not able to cancel or get a refund for part of hotel and payment of $2100 stays with hotel. In about 6hrs I was given a room, that still had a strong cigarette smell. Bathtub had dust all over and so did coffee machine. All photos were send to Expedia agent, who informed me that it will take 24-72 hrs to take care of my issue to this day with NO resolution! But to make matters worse - last two day of my stay Hotel had NO HOT water and absolutely unapologetic they said we left some nuts and dry fruits in your room for inconvenience. I only wish I could upload photos to my review, so no one gets to experience what I have been through. Choose a different property and actually get to enjoy your Milan experience.

Only 1 teabag on 1st morning. None on 2nd morning. Asked at reception and received 3 on 3rd morning.
Rooftop bar closed for a private party on 2nd evening. Both bars closed for private parties on 3rd evening. Extremely poor that they don’t prioritise their paying hotel guests. At €500 per night this is very poor. We had a bottle of wine in our room. We may as well have been at home.

The room was a good size and of a high standard.
Only area of improvement is the breakfast which wasn’t of the standard one would expect of a hotel of this quality.
