The bedrooms are extremely misleading in the photos they’ve posted. Most of the rooms don’t have windows that lead to outside - they lead to the hallways everyone walks by to get to other rooms. The windows don’t have glass panels on them so the air conditioners are working overtime to keep the rooms cool but struggling to do that job fighting the hot air coming in from outside. The rooms are very small and not much room for bags or anything else. The photos make it look much larger than reality. I would not stay here again or pay 135$cad for a room.

Very clean room, staff super friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was not huge, however plenty, it was included in the room rate and plenty with fruit juice, fruit plate, eggs at your choice and toast,coffee and tea.
The air conditioner worked great in the bedroom.

I thought it would be better

According to the information of this hotel I assumed it would be better, breakfast the first day was so basic, the rest of the days got a little better. In my daughter's room the last night water stared dripping from the air conditioner on her bed, so we had to change rooms, the room they got had a dirty bathroom. they apologized, and were very sorry for the inconvenience, but these accidents should not happen in a three star hotel. But I must say the location was very good.

The hotel was pretty much exactly what you see in the pictures and description—no surprises. The room and overall space are quite small, and the pool is tiny, more for dipping than swimming. That said, the location is ideal, close to everything we needed. The real standout was the staff—friendly, helpful, and genuinely the best part of the stay.

The hotel is like an old England Castle absolutely gorgeous, the employees definitely go above and beyond to make you feel at home and completely satisfied. The big problem I found is if it rains even just a little bit the power goes off in the hotel and it happened for hours... If you know Cartagena you know it's very hot there and to be without air conditioning for hours is miserable. Also the hot water is not steady when you turn on the shower you're lucky to get 30 seconds of hot water don't expect anymore. Those are my only criticisms of this property.

Staff was wonder, the place is nice. However we stayed in the 3rd floor, and we had no water at night or in the morning. We had to go downstairs to let them know because the phone in the room was not working. BREAKFASTS WAS DELICIOUS. CAN YOU IMAGE TRYING TO TAKE A SHOWER OR USE THE TOILET AND NO WATER????. We had to wait until their tank got full.

If you are looking for luxury, this is not the place for you. However, I found it extremely enjoyable. The people here were so nice and helpful! Always willing to help out or provide suggestions. They have a TV, mini fridge, and AC in the room which was nice. Breakfast options were good and fresh, the same everyday so if you are staying multiple days keep that in mind. The wifi is hit or miss.. sometimes we had to move around the room to get signal but not a big deal for us. The room is small but it has all you need so it did not really matter. Overall, I would recommend.

I felt like I had chosen the “perfect” place for me. The staff are lovely, and knew my name before I walked in, and addressed me by it the entire time. The place is gorgeous and comfortable, with a chef’s kiss of a location. Breakfast was nice, with fresh fruits, juices, and made to order eggs. It isn’t exciting, but it does the trick, and the ladies who cook and serve are very gracious. My room was a 3rd floor walk up- which was fine. I always had excellent hot water in the shower, good a/c, and the toilet always flushed- unlike an airbnb where a friend stayed. The ONLY complaint I had was is that there wasn’t any mirror in the room aside from the very high one in the bathroom. It would not stop me from staying again, though. Also- housekeeping was impeccable. Don’t hesitate to book!

We enjoyed our stay at Casa del Curator. This is a lovely hotel, located inside the wall city, walkable to many sites. The daily breakfast was just wonderful: Fresh juices made every morning, along with fruits, eggs, etc . Comfortable beds. Staff were all very kind. I specifically would like to thank Milagro and Jessica. They went above and beyond to help us with arrangements, rides, site recommendations,etc.
I highly recommend this location and would stay here again when I go back to Cartagena.

The place is in great condition and has a beautiful charm. The AC was ice cold in the room and the water was hot in the shower. The staff is very friendly, especially the women that work at the included breakfast. The food was surprisingly good and plentiful for a free breakfast. I paid about half what my friend paid to stay at a swankier place down the street and I'd say this place is nearly as good. Not quite as fancy but it's gladly stay there again.

Beautiful place and great value in the walled city

This place is even prettier than in the pictures. It’s an incredible value. The location is great because you are in the walled city and near the fun areas but out of the noise and chaos. And the walk to the wall and plazas is fairly short and safe.

One thing I wished we had done is stay in the rooms with a balcony. We took a standard room which is comfortable and worked well for us but it is fairly small and without much natural light. The superior rooms look like they are worth the extra cost.

One thing to keep in mind for folks who are pickier is that our shower was kind of funky to operate and didn’t regulate water temperature super well. But we honestly didn’t care. It did not detract from our experience at all.

My kiddo fell ill and the staff were beyond accommodating. The kindness of the people here cannot be overstated.

We will be back to this wonderful gem in Cartagena.

Beautiful older building in an area known for this. Feels more \"authentic\" than a chain if that's what you're looking for. Lobby is beautiful and has an open roof, so it was pretty interesting when it was raining. The one issue is that the room has basically zero sound proofing so you're likely to hear everything outside, but this street is pretty quiet at night despite being 5 min walk to crazy loud bars/clubs/etc

A nice hotel walkable to everything in Centro. It’s within an adorable, historic building. The staff was very nice & helpful, despite not speaking English well. We had issues with the AC & it was immediately resolved. The breakfast was good compared to other hotels we’ve stayed at in Cartagena. The only negative was small pieces of garbage left behind on the bathroom floor.

The hotel is located in a very nice street in the old town. It is just up one of the main streets. We had a balcony room facing the main street. We were warned it might be noisy but it was not, we had no problems. The hotel is tidy, good breakfast, friendly staff and overall great. Our room was also very spacious with plenty of space.

The only issue we had was in the morning and evening at peak times the water pressure for the hot water would disappear leaving you with no hot water. Granted it was very hot in Cartagena but the shower's water pressure was the only issue we encountered. Thankfully it wasn't for a long period of time, you had to either try again or wait a couple of minutes.

We loved it here, honestly it was perfect for a couple! It’s a small room, we shared a full bed but it was spacious enough to get ready and relax. We spent most of the time exploring Cartagena so we just wanted somewhere safe to stay to sleep. It is perfect place to stay to walk anywhere in the Walled City. 5 minutes from the mall, 10 minutes to the port, 5-7 minutes to anywhere in Centro, 20 minutes to San Felipe. It was perfect and we were able to take advantage of the free breakfast in the morning. The staff were so kind and welcoming! They helped us get a taxi home and always opened the door for us when we came home late. All of the rooms have A/C! We definitely would come back again.

Hotel Casa del Curato was the most charming hotel for our stay in Cartagena. The building is gorgeous, the staff is extrememly friendly and helpful and the location can't be beat (super close to everything but on a quieter street).

We loved the daily breakfast of fresh juice, fruit and eggs cooked fresh for us. The bottom floor room we had didn't have any windows, but with really lovely communal spaceso on 3 different floors, we never felt cooped up. The pool is small, but perfect for a quick afternoon dip to cool down after exploring the city and sweating in the caribbean sun.

Incredible value for your money. My only regret is not splurging on one of bigger rooms with a balcony.

We stayed for New Year’s Eve and it was great. Close walk to all the action but also quiet enough for us to sleep. The staff were super helpful and friendly - from some booking questions, to smooth check in, and smooth check out. Rooms are small and basic but it suited our needs and is reflected in the price. The complimentary breakfast was great too! Fresh fruit, juice, tea/coffee, eggs, and some kind of carb that changed daily. We are actually returning to Cartagena on the same trip and will stay there again for a couple nights.

The location of the hotel was great, it was close to everything, in the heart of the center and we could walk to all places we wanted to see. All the staff are great! Especially Yessica and Martin were extremely helpful, truly the whole staff are tops!

Breakfast simple but very tasty & cooked daily for you. The ladies even do your laundry for a small fee, to go home with clean clothes is priceless!

Martin even went to the Money Exchange on a very hot day for me & got me Columbian Pesos, this was a huge help!

I didn’t t like it because this people want to charge you for everything at the end, things that we didn’t even know they had an extra cost like another round of scramble eggs etc...also they get in your room without permission and look into your things. We found out they went inside of our room and moved our luggages.

Great hotel in the old city.

Great hotel in the walled area of the Cartagena right in the middle of things but still very quiet. We opted with a larger room with a balcony overlooking the street on the 2nd floor. The breakfast was yummy and the pool was small but refreshing at the end of a day of walking around sightseeing. Front desk staff was very helpful and the front door security was perfect.
We'd definitely return on our next visit to this beautiful city.
