A most wonderful hotel in a terrific neighborhood within walking distance of the lake. The rooms are very spacious, beautifully designed and elegantly decorated. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom with walk-in shower and enough room for a stool was accommodated two sinks and plenty of good quality towels. The staff was delightful, prompt and super efficient.
Room and maid service were excellent.
Breakfast at CH 42 seems expensive .But for us it is THE Go -TO address in Zurich.

Poor Quality Hotel, Stay Away from this One

Stay Away from this hotel. This is at best a 3.5-star hotel, not the 5-star listed here. There is no air conditioning to speak of, rooms were at best at 27 degrees C at night. The staff is wonderfully polite though, but would be good if they would not lie about not being able to fix the air conditioning and rooms not being ready -- when the rooms actually were ready. Overall, a poor quality hotel and no reason to stay here if you have other choices.

Nice service but rooms need help

The bathroom was so small my husband literally couldn’t use the facilities without very awkward positioning. The air was broken and we couldn’t adjust the heat down, which made it impossible to sleep at night, and since it was below freezing at night, was too cold to open the window to cool down the room. Employees are excellent though.

We booked a junior suite. The room was clean and comfortable enough but we were surprised to find the furniture and the bed head in a very worn and tatty condition. This is unacceptable at any price but at CHF620 per night is very poor. We won’t return.

I booked club rooms and wasn’t too happy with the rooms themselves. The hotel needs some updating, there is no club lounge but we did get breakfast. The location is decent, it’s inside a business area, but an easy walk to the old town area.

The hotel in general was fine and well located near the main turistic areas.
The staff very friendly anh helpful to aid in reserving restaurants .
The only thing is that the size of the bathroom was too small the shower!!!

Lobby is very basic but staff is warm, friendly and professional. I booked through Expedia and my SPG Gold status was recognised and I was upgraded to a junior suite with breakfast.
Room was large, modern with excellent amenities and a large washroom including double sinks.
I arrived very late for dinner in the dining room but they kept the kitchen open for me and provided me anything I wanted from the full menu and then accommodated my coeliac requirements.
Highly recommended. Exceeded my expectations.

We have stayed there for one night only and it was great. Even though, we have arrived before the check in time, our room was ready and we could drop our stuff and grab a cup of coffee. The room was clean and quite. On Sunday morning we enjoyed late breakfast (it was available till 12 noon) and it was great (who wants to wake up at 9 a.m. to get their breakfast when on vacation?) Staff was very welcoming and helpful. Overall, if I need to stay in Zurich downtown again, I know a perfect place!

We loved our stay here.

We loved our night here. To be honest we had just come from a hotel where the breakfast staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming and we didn't have that here but we acknowledge how privileged we have been and that our expectations may have been too high. a very ordinary hotel - disappointing

For the cost per night of this stay, this hotel was decidedly underwhelming!
We were a party of two.. the bathroom in one of the rooms was standing room only! There was hardly any space to move in it. To be fair they did change the room to one where the bathroom was only slightly larger.
On the first night, the restaurant was closed and we had to have dinner in the cafe/bar and the food was okay but not fabulous. The continental breakfast was okay.
The street in front of the hotel is undergoing public works which makes access problematic and taxis have to take a longer route to get to the hotel.
All in all, it was an okay stay but nothing at all to rave about, and certainly not for value for money.

Great location, affordable pricing, 15min walk to Bahnhof Strasse and historic area. I stayed in a junior suite that had a big terrace, tub and king size bed. Room also came with complimentary wifi and TV with channels from all over Europe. Haven't eaten at the restaurant there but I'm sure the food is great as I've seen the place busy during lunch service. Highly recommend.

Although the location is away from the Old Town, the Paradeplatz and the Banhoffstrasse (all of which are accessible easily by foot), this hotel is located approximately 100m away from General Guisan Quai that runs along Lake Zurich, and considered to be in a great location.

Once you get your bearings and familiarized yourself with the trams, every tourist sights are within 10 mins. It will take 20 mins to get to the Sihlquai/HB (where all the Tour Buses Departs from).

Very nice - highly recommend!

Very nice hotel. Within walking distance of many things in Zurich... Lake Zurich about two blocks away, Grossmunster, St. Peter, etc. We walked to Storchen Zürich for dinner along the river and had a nice evening walk back to the hotel.

We didn't realize the hotel had valet parking and found our own parking nearby. Most of the streets are one way so be careful because you may drive several blocks out of your way if you're not careful.

Hotel is very modern with all the amenities. We will stay there again when we return to Zurich!

The location is great, room is nice, yet really annoyed me that no internet connection was included in the room price (at this price level do you really need to charge 19 chf for the internet???) and had to ask for a code, register it etc. instead of just have a card in the room with the complimentary internet access codes.

The breakfast was so-so, albeit expensive at 40 chf.

Otherwise the room was great, the restaurant was nice even with fine dining standards, so all in all OK.

we were upgraded to a nicer room upon arrival. It was almost too modern for us and we had problems figuring out all the lights. We had a nice coffee machine in the room.

The staff was very helpful, especially a young German woman who directed us to a great Saturday flea market.

The location was great, 5 minutes from the old city and 2 minutes from the lake.

It is located a couple of minutes from the lake and 10 minutes from the city center, ideal. Rooms are spacious but the bathroom is rather narrow. The price for breakfast is steep for what you get

Great option in a city with many expensive hotels

We were in Zurich at the time of the Basel fair when all the hotels were booked and very expensive. This hotel was great was a great value. The price was very competitive compared to other hotels, the hotel itself was very nice. Services such as business center were very convenient, breakfast buffet was very good. The location of the hotel is in the business district but that's just a short walk from the main sites. I would definitely recommend this place.

Great Stay for New Years

Two late 20's, American, wanting the mix of fun, excitement and the ability to explore Zurich. The location is great if you don't mind walking a few blocks along Lake Zurich (which was really nice) to all the cathedrals and touristy areas of Zurich. The front desk staff was beyond helpful, showing us the good places to go, eat, hang out at night, places to avoid...they were very pleasant and spoke practically perfect English. The room itself was very clean and it was fine for two people. The bathroom was a little tight at times when trying to get ready to go out for New Years Eve, but there are worse things in the world. There are a few places to eat right around the hotel which some people might utilize, we only had a drink at the bar in the lobby for a quick night cap, and the bar tender was funny and helpful and again spoke very well.

Really enjoyed my stay!

According to the staff, this is the smallest Sheraton in their portfolio at 60 rooms - just what you want for an intimate feel. The small size of my room was more than made up for by the extremely accommodating staff that my my three night stay very enjoyable! Great location in walking distance to the Bahnhafstrosse.

Great value, quiet and convenient

We recently stayed here for 2 nights with our 5month old baby. The neighbourhood was nice and quiet, the rooms were a very good size for Europe (similar to A typical North American size), and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was well appointed and the price point could not be beat
It is a short walk to the old town but we enjoyed the 5 min stroll everyday and appreciated the quiet at night, especially since it allowed us to keep the windows open. It appeared that the air conditioning wasn't very powerful, but it was a nice temperature while we were there and we prefer not to use air con when possible. They had a great free standing fan in the room to help with temperature control.
You will not find all the amenities that some of the higher end hotels have to offer such as gym, spa, etc, but if you are coming as a tourist or for business and will be spending your days elsewhere then really this is likely not important. I would highly recommend this hotel and would stay here again when coming back to Zurich. Save your money for spending on food, tourist attractions, etc., the rooms are spacious comfortable and we'll appointed.

Great bargain

Hotel staff was absolutely fantastic - I cannot say enough nice things about them. Rooms were clean and up to date. The only thing I didn't like about my stay was that the bathrooms are really small - but that is typical for Europe in general - and the rooms were too warm. We had to keep a window open when it was <50 outside to keep from roasting despite turning the thermostat on the radiator way down.
