I liked this hotel so much that I called to switch my crummy hotel in my next stopover town for an APA. I even came back and stayed here again on my return journey 3 days later! From the minute I walked in I was stunned by the elegance for such a 'cheap' hotel. I loved the chandelier, elaborate furniture, and hallway color scheme. It had the most comfortable bed out of any hotel and I really liked the light dimmers. The breakfast filled me up until 2pm! Location is the best - right across from the train station. The windows can crack open (great for Covid times). APA Hotel is my new standard!

Room was a little small because we had 2 big bags for our travel. But hotel is close to the station and there are many places to eat around the place. Service was very good. Supermarket and convenient store are also walking distance. Happy to stay there.

Tsuruoka interlude, or a stop on the way
I stopped at Tsuruoka during an extended tour of Japan, it was snowing heavily during my stay which limited my views of the city. The hotel was in good condition and comfortable The best coffee shop in town is five minutes walk and worth it to meet the somewhat eccentric owner, the coffee however exceptional.

Great location close to the JR station
Good place to stay if you're going to Dewa Sanzan. Right across from the JR Tsuruoka station and the bus stop to Dewa. Staff were extremely helpful although English was a bit difficult. Room was typical for Japan, small by American standards but neat and with all the basic amenities. Would definitely stay here again.

Right next to train station, where you can also get the Airport Limousine bus to Shonai, and the bus to Kamo Aquarium. Room compact but very clean and well-equipped. Good shower, and free, reliable wifi. No bar/restaurant on site for evening dining, but they do serve breakfast

Wonderful stay at the APA. We arrived late at night and had reserved a deluxe double but had been given a regular double. The front desk was apologetic and said it was the only size room available that night but he's would get us a bigger room the next day. Since we were staying a week and were having some large bags delivered, it was important to have the larger room. The next day they came through and switched us to a larger room. Staff was EXTREMELY accommodating to any request and could not do enough to satisfy their guests. Regular rooms are small but adequate though little room to store luggage Deluxe room worth the extra nominal cost if your bringing more than one bag. Hotel very conveniently located across from train station and local shopping. About a 10 min walk to the down town \"Ginza\" area and Tsuruoka Park but the walk is along a commercial/shopping area so you can get what you need close by. Grocery store and shopping mall only 2-3 blocks away. Some difficulty with English translation at robot desk but staff tried their hardest to understand and once translated were quick to meet your needs. Again, the staff did everything they could to meet your needs. We ended up staying 10 days and would not hesitate to return.

娘の意見。朝食ビュッフェで選んでいる時、女性スタッフさんにじーっと見られていたのでプレッシャーで嫌な気持ちになり選びにくかった。実際見ていないとしても立ってこちらの方を見ていたら見られてると感じます。何か伝えたいことがあるなら言うべきだし、要がないなら客に限らず人としてじーっとガン見する人は失礼だし不快です。ちなみに娘はとくにマナー違反はしてません。

I stayed here for one night, the people at the dront desk were really nice and friendly when I arrived ! I was surprised by the quality of the room, with comfortable beds, free water bottle and a lot of amenities like free hairties, razor, shower and cap and such ! The lights were controled from your head stand which was really handy ! The only bad point was that the wall wern't really soundproof and you could hear people in the doorway and sometimes from the others rooms so I had to sleep with earplugs so that's why I'm putting 4 stars
