What ever happened to hospitality?

Sadly, the D'Wharf has forgotten that hotels are in the business of hospitality. Instead of being greeted and welcomed, guests are told that check in is at 3pm but they will make an exception and allow 1:30 pm. Pay 50 MYR and you can get it two hours earlier. It matters not that we arrived tired after a morning of cycling and assured them that we would leave the next day by 7:30 am. It is not that there was no room available, the hotel was barely occupied, but policies are set in stone and a warm welcome and providing comfort to guests is not a priority. Better that the room sits vacant, that guests stand around and watch the clock click by, than allow the use of the room. We also wanted a room with one bed, of which there were countless available, but that required an upgrade, and again the comfort of the guest took second place to "policies". The lack of concern for guest comfort starts with the check in procedure, and continues with the near threadbare towels to there being no lounge chairs around what is otherwise a nice pool. You should also ignore the peeling paint on the outside, glass wall railings that have not been cleaned. The rooms are a good size and were they not made of concrete, I am sure management would have found a way to make them smaller to reduce costs.

Property common area look rundown but the room was really clean and comfortable. Facilities like pools, playground and gym are decent. Gym is well equipped. Breakfast was good too. Nothing much within walking distance but there are a couple of fast food joints and 24hrs mart.

Not a pleasant stay

The condo because this is what it is rather than a hotel is run down. The furniture is in the room is old and peeling, the towel rails in toilet is rusting, the shower is flooded everytime I have a shower, the tv shows only 7 channels and all cannot be watched. Basically this is a condo that is converted into 2 rooms so I could hear the person next door. I don’t think the room is sanitised. I had to wipe and spray everything myself. Then the free breakfast is good but there were so many flies everywhere I didn’t feel like eating. One of the worst place I’ve stayed! Not sure why it’s 4 star

The location is great. The hotel condition is very bad. The restroom is so not clean condition. Absolutely it’s not a 4 star hotel. I will rate 2.5 star hotel. Very disappointing.

A new accomodation, good sunrise and sunset view!

The small private beach is lovely! Only that its across the road which makes it slightly inconvenient. The entire residence building set up looks good from outside view, however once walk in will have a different feeling as if a regular apartment. Anyway, hotel room of studio type is nicely decorated which fit for purposes and comfortable.

Short stay is OK but soundproof is totally bad

Overall is OK, receptionist do not have any smile on their customer, soundproof is bad until next door open and talking sound, people pass by on corridor all can be hear. Upon 10am of check out day, we did request 2 bottles of mineral water through phone to housekeeping, 12pm check out yet get to us even we call them rush for few times. Cleanliness is ok.

hot water in the bathroom wasn't working even after turning on the heater switch, lift too slow for the whole building, you need to add more lifts, no towels at the swimming pool,no lifeguard at the swimming pool, the hotel has very good potential as everything is nearby but because of these few things lacking could effect the hotel's review.

Was totally disappointed with the room. So diff from pics seem on website. Aircon remote not working. Bedsheets and pillow cases with stain. Shower head hose installed high up on wall which affects water flow. Also, step into shower area in toilet is a hazard if not careful as toilet is not big so can easily missed the step.

The room was spacious and comfortable but the floor was dusty and not enough floor mats, Big hotel for only 3 lifts per block and very slow. In the afternoon only 1 lift was working but at night all 3 was out and the maintenance staff didnt come until almost 1 hour. we came back 3 hours later the lift was not working again.

All was good except shower room need to improve

Bath room shower section do not have shower curtain thus allowing water to splash everywhere making the entire floor wet. One of our unit, one room's aircon was not working. Else, everything is perfect. Room is spacious. Breakfast was relatively good spread.

Hotel is reasonable but PD is a dead town!! We were in PD about 40 years ago and it was a bustling town with ample supply of restaurants. Nowadays, you get McDonalds, Kenny Rogers and Subway!

Breakfast with nice sea view, hotel near to grocery shop but disadvantages were low quality use in sky pool cafe ( melamine plate), the room for Superior twin too small for rm 200, slippery & no warning at corridor due to improper drain after rain. My husband fell on the floor due to that.

Affordable, comfortable and nice place

Got ourselves a partial sea view, the room is clean and facilities provided in the best condition. The staffs were friendly and although it was full house due to Chinese New Year, we managed to settle check in and check out within 5 minutes. There were a lot of parking, so no worries and the pool was surprisingly clean compared to our previous trip last year. Located strategically in PD Waterfront, I may say that MCD, Kenny, Starbucks and a few other restaurants located within walking distance. Oh not forgetting there was a mall nearby. Overall, if you were looking for an affordable, comfortable and a nice place to stay, D'Wharf is the best place and highly recommended.

Good location close to the town centre. Hotel construction finish is very poor; you can look at any part of the building to see shoddy workmanship. Rooms are very small; compliments to the promotional photography for making the rooms appear much larger than reality. Wifi very slow (approx 1Mb/s).
